In the Sky world map, if you look closely, you can see Isle and Wasteland at sea level. However, given how the Ancestors had easy transportation through boats, I don’t think it would’ve been a problem for them. I think Isle and Wasteland are more isolated than the rest of the kingdom, but not entirely cut off

Hiya, the issue with trying to have quote on quote complete lore in sky isint really a thing for just how open most things are to interpretation. A ton of stuff can be debated of happening one way or another

Like I love to theorize what food would be like in the different realms, it’s fun! Spirit relives are more glimpses of that spirit personal life in that moment. Instead of knowing that they would be stuck there and die for sky-kids to come across and find us at-least that’s what I thought you were saying in your message unless I misinterpreted them

Spirit memories to me weren’t intentional, to me the kingdom was wiped out and had no knowledge skykids would find them and thus wouldn’t have handpicked moments from their lives to show us. I think either the memories we see vary between being something important of doing their day to day lives and manifested that way, but not really intentional

Lil ramble Valley in my opinion (not being biased) seemed more fitting for a capital, it’s right in the middle of the kingdom, and just by the sheer look and activity and the fact everyone is just, lined with gold, even the graves and everything. Plus it’s the only realm to feel most like a city to me, eden looks a lot more grand and important used for more important stuff than being the capital to me

the crystal wasnt there naturally, it was made in one of the refineries (either forest or wasteland one) and then transported to eden to get the light from every ascension, which i already said, broke the light cycle which maybe started to corrupt the other light creatures and the crystal (like everything, excess is always bad at any mean), so much light broke the crystal's first use and made the king do something, which maybe leads to the king's soul being inside the crystal (the light child inside the eden black space where we fall after our death)

as i understood, maybe the first skykid which may be the king was a kid made of light, so he kinda glowed

So you know how water is denser than air on earth? I think on the sky planet, Air is much more denser, but still lighter than the water. This allows animals to "swim" thru it, if they're light enough. If that theory is true, then mantas and other creatures are light enough and it would make sense for them to swim thru the air. But that means that skids are heavier or have the same weight as mantas.

That was Atmosphere. Now comes biology(this ones gonna be long, so it will take a while)

Im going to start with mantas. There have been some artworks, that are considered cannon by tgc. It basically shows how mantas evolve thru their lifetime. My theory is that those small birds (not the dead one in valley) are babymantas. The older mantas get, the bigger and the more wings they get.

Interesting! We only see quite a few big mantas others would call "Elder Mantas", and based on the theory that Skykids could possibly be affected by the aging process if they don't get reborn soon enough, it could be possible this also applies to other light creatures

The artwork also showed that mantas eventually grow into those giant whales. Even tho it is also cannon, i dont believe that. I believe that whales are another species. The bones in wasteland show similarities in size

Now comes Ascended mantas. The sky community thinks they are regular mantas who ascended, but i also dont believe that. Tgc said that mantas grow more tails and so on, but the big Ascended manta in vault has smaller ac mantas with many wings surrounding it. I belive that ac mantas are another species as well, but related to the main species, the manta. We've seen normal sized ac mantas in game, but the small ac mantas surrounding the big ac manta have many wings, but still are the same size as normal aged ac mantas. Once again i think that the smaller ac mantad with many wings are some kind of subspecies or mutation

The crab is next. Nothing much to say here, crabs are crabs. Not related to any species. Amphibic and are covered in light-absorbent crystals for defence and attack. Sky ppl can clean them and then use them for nutrition

Next one is the jellyfish. Its just a jellyfish. I dont know much about it. Its just some jellyfish that grow and become bigger

The krill is next.

The majority of creatures there feed on light. I believe that they have some sort of super-advanced form of photosynthesis (skyids and sky ppl have a weaker form of photosynthesis).

But the krill has no photosynthesis. Instead they feed on light by ingesting light creatures

What about ancestors? They're not really considered Light creatures, but there is evidence they still would pilgrimage to Eden for what if not ascension?

I've been thinking for a while that somehow memories = Light and so spirits (which are the memories of the ancestors, not the ancestors themselves) are Light creatures but somehow the ancestors weren't. They were just creatures, not light or dark.

for Sunset, I think it depends on your interpretation of them. if you see them as two separate entities with their own individual minds and persons, they would be two separate coconuts. if you see them like I do, as a sort of singular entity with two forms, perhaps they would be two conjoined coconuts (but idk if that is possible in nature)

The real debate happens if you regard the milk & water inside the coconut as like a metaphor for the elders’ light. So then, depending on how you interpret them, you might have two coconut shells whose inner contents are very similar, or they can have the same milk and water inside them (although I’m unsure how that would work)

Maybe there’s like… a starting stash of coconut inner contents. It might be within a normal coconut shell, or just existing. One Sunset coconut shell gets 1/2 of that stash and the other gets the other half. It’s still the same coconut inner contents and they have noticeably affected each other a lot but now that stash has been arbitrarily divided

I think however many things would become coconuts would depend on whatever you wanted to turn into a coconut, as there seems to be no strict boundaries for what might be coconutable or not coconutable

We have spirit mantas in vault, and there are mantas and other light creatures that follow us to Orbit, so I think it's safe to assume they do actually die.

My ongoing theory is this:
We the sky kids the living stars land in a word that seems ruined…as we walk we find fragments of winged lights we collect them…but we don’t know why we just feel compelled…
We find spirits old remnants of the past we relive their memories and bring them peace

We continue our journey rescuing the spirits until…we reach the temple we light a alter And we meditate soon we are transported into another world we are greeted with a old…and weak man who can barely stand we hold a light and we hand it to him…suddenly his crown returns and reassembled,his clothes light returns to him and he can stand we have brought the Eder back to power…we are soon kicked out of the mind space and we continue flying through the clouds

We find a spirit there gratitude gives you there clothing to help you feel more unique and individuality we continue saving spirits collecting winged light for the next few lands
We travel through the forest, avoiding the deadly rain ,we race down the Valley having fun!
Until…we fly through the clouds and the sky darkens the clouds take on a green color and we see a flash of a beast

You continue to ‘the graveyard’ large massive bones lay across the land dragons everywhere you sneak pass them and finally you reach the last area…the battle ground shields and spears litter the ground each ones 3 times your size you continue

Until you reach a gate closed off you open it and your greeting by three roars and you see dragons quickly approaching you run into the gate right before the light shined onto you the gate slammed shut saving you

You climb a mountain the unforgiving wind pushing you making it hard to walk but you push past all the areas dodging the rocks and the krill’s until you reach the eye several statues surround you but…they’re not statues as you walk you sacrifice your light to save the others the red rain rains down upon you you hide behind rocks keeping you alive for now until you reach far and you see a non stop rain of red rain and you realize your not making it out alive you charge into the rain getting pelted and you fall onto your knees as you craw ‘just a few more I need to save them’ you think pushing forward until…you loose the last of your light as it drains from you…you feel weak and stare at the diamond in the sky almost as if it’s mocking you…then everything goes black

Your falling and you land the ground is water but your not sinking before you is a sky kid….the king your other half you walk to him and they hold out there hand and help them up…giving them a simple hug but one full of kindness even tho he caused many of the issues in the kingdom everyone deserves to be forgiven…
You merge back into one being as your body glows bright your now truly light!

and you fly pass Eden and the ruins of whatever used to be here to and you fly into the sky
To your surprise others join you
It’s your friends you make on this journey and the ones you saved you all fly into the eye a light shining onto you but it’s warm and welcoming
The ones you save soon join you they land and bow to you and returned to their home in the stars you in the other hand don’t you still need to work to save others you walk through a door of light and everything goes bright

You fall into the home space
You remember how this all started
And your journey has only just begun

I think skykids can use echolocation given we the player can see things in the dark via deep calling as well as the directing us toward the Light, but at most echolocation would supplement their vision, not replace it. Said echolocation must be strong enough that they can forgo vision entirely sometimes (see maskless when eyes are closed) but that doesn’t mean they are blind

we see sound being represented with visual cues throughout the game so there being some overlap makes sense
but we also see the skykids (and gameplay) being very visual based too, from so many cosmetics and visual expression of the self to enjoying shaped fireworks to skykids turning their heads towards others and such things
even if they might not be cell-based creatures as us with eyes that have photo receptors, they certainly seem to be vision-based to a large extent

it does seem that a maskless mask on a sky kid is a "powered down" version since those types of masks rarely have eyes visible outside of the model itself showing the eyelashes which could mean they show as closed or that they are, actually, just closed

Elder masks being the only ones with actual eyes visible without having a physical mask on their face, those also make me think that's what sky kid's eyes naturally look like if you were to take away the mask part of their faces without everything 'losing power'

It’s believe that the sky kids are made of pure light What are the mask act as a type of filter for the light blocking out some of the light so that it’s not blinding, but enough forward to still produce a glow that’s just my theory though

Something else that confuses me as wide as the sky kid need to breathe We are made out of pure light. Why do we even have lungs?
In the season of abyss we cant stay into the period of water for a certain period of time because our oxygen meter slowly goes down we are pure light. Why do we even need to breathe?!

considering skykids seem to function equally well with their eyes closed and open, i think it's possible that their eyes are mostly functionless and just mimicking the eyes of the ancestors

The fact that crabs were seemingly docile in the beginning makes it seem like darkness didn’t exist until humans started diamond production. Because crabs live close to the water and might even breathe it, they would be the most affected out of the creatures and thus were almost all corrupted by darkness. The same would apply to any creature that was forced to swim in darkness. So even if leviathan was a naturally existing creature, it could very well only have been corrupted after coming in contact with the pollution. Based on the mural it seems to do more than just eat fish it happens upon, and was instead an active threat to fishing boats perhaps

I mean most of the time the meanings are what they say, some playing a more literal role more than others: Like Abyss (diving into the ocean), Prophecy (we learn of the prophecy mural through the season), Remembrance (self explanatory)ect when others are more loose in their meaning. Flight we unlock wind-paths and while also learning about ways ancestors traveld even learned elders has apprentice with flight guides card.

I find earlier seasons have a less of a heavy storyline and are more to show the player of the kingdom, while newer ones seem more story driven

TL:DR some seasons meanings are right in the title when others aren’t, some have more consistent themes when some are more loose, would be tricky to pinpoint the meaning of the very first seasons other than just being there

Before this, I’d like to remind you that these seasons can and should be played in Sky. Their stories can still be experienced by finding them in corners of the world. Seasons in Sky are more like free expansions. However, I won’t spoil anything major.

The first four seasons of Sky have very little lore, but some of them are still important.

Gratitude We’re skipping, has little to no lore relevance.

Lightseekers This season is a lit bit more interesting, with you helping a group of people who are trying to find the light. They appear as references in other seasons.

Belonging This season is simple, having you reunite a lost family.

Rhythm This season is about getting a troupe of musicians together.

From here on, the seasons get more complicated.

Enchantment This season has a group of merchants work together with you to restore a shipwreck to its former glory. They restore it using the Colored Lights, which are six elemental orbs of energy that appear in many other places in Sky. Each color represents an element: Red is Darkness, Orange is Fire, Green is Earth, Cyan is Air, Blue is Water, and Purple is Mind.

Sanctuary In this season, a group of travelers are living on a beautiful island near Daylight Prairie. You learn more about this island, ending with the Season Guide using the Cyan Light of Air to activate a spinning bell tower.

Prophecy In this important season, we see a golden Chosen One becoming a central figure in the world of Sky. We also learn the origin of some of the Elemental Lights.

Dreams A young skater destines to be the best.

Assembly Assembly follows the Scouts, children related to the Lightseekers. They rebuild a long-forgotten treehouse.

The Little Prince

This season is a retelling of The Little Prince by Antonie Saint-Exupery.

Flight

The Season of Flight is set in the Wind Paths, a highway between all the realms of Sky. You re-open the highway and help light creatures, but trouble awaits.

Abyss

In what is the scariest season to date, you venture through a flooded refinery in hopes of finding some treasure. However, the deeper you go, the more strange it gets…

Performance

The twin sibling of the Rhythm Guide wants their students to perform a play for everyone in Valley. You have come along to help.

Shattering

The Season of Shattering centrally focuses around the Eden Diamond, which is the cause for most of the darkness in the Sky world. Although this season is quite complicated, it’s one of my favorites, having a lot of hidden details.

Aurora

The Season of Aurora is a collaboration with the Norwegian singer AURORA. We being together four spirits who use the Colored Lights to transform the Valley Stadium into a concert arena. This is one of the few seasons that you can’t entirely replay in Sky, as the final quest is near impossible to do. You can search the Aurora Concert on YouTube. This concert, notably, shows a war between two armies of Ancestor Spirits.

** Remembrance** This season shows the effects of the war shown in Aurora, where we see refugees and how the war has impacted them.

wasteland can be kinda weird with sizing in general. I get the feeling the devs made the spears and shields in battlefield, as well as the ark’s anchor, large not because they thought it through and it made the most sense for them to be that size but because they wanted the intimidating feeling of them looming over you as the player

I don’t think so. The war seemed to be planned quite early in development- why would they ignore such a crucial part of the lore for map design?

of course the gravity in sky’s world seems to be lessened to some degree so it would make sense for them to have larger and heavier anchors but in general, I think the feelings they wanted to convey with wasteland were the main reason everything is so Large

And to be honest...please tell me I'm not the only one who wants to take the carvings around the world of sky and put them in chronological order.

this is what I was trying to communicate. it’s not just about ‘looks cool’ — think about what oversized weapons and shields communicate to the player as we travel through battlefield. we are, quite literally, being dwarfed by the looming remnants of past violence and tragedy — and the landscape around those oversized weapons is as well. we are a very small light traveling through a world of darkness and the hope and warmth we give sputters faintly in the shadows of the past.

it is my personal opinion that the skeletons in graveyard are large for this exact reason. I am not saying that they didn’t belong to equally large creatures, and I would appreciate it if this message did not get misinterpreted as that. however, it is my belief that tgc wasn’t thinking ‘oh this will provide a clue as to huge creatures their skykid hasn’t seen’ but ‘we want the players to feel dwarfed by the death and remains of a brutal and vicious past’.

the large skeletons and weapons might also serve a second, although in my opinion, less important function — allowing you a place to hide from krill.

battlefield and graveyard would 100% not feel the same or have the same visceral emotional weight if the skeletons and weapons and shields were normally sized. it’s not always about some secret flashy weapon or device causing them that we see nowhere else. sometimes, the emotions those things are meant to communicate are more important.
