Can i have the schedule of geyser and ancestor?
#questions-and-help is a better place to ask
are the floating boats in village of dreams shaped like birds? I just realised today and I feel so enlightened
yup, they are. They look pretty cute since they...you know...fly
yes!!
this season....is it me or the story is......dark and deep
the devs says this will continue the story of Sky after Aurora season

May I ask where you heard that?
!geyserwhen
A polluted geyser in Sanctuary Islands releases darkness periodically throughout the day, that can be burned away to collect Light up to a certain amount each day. ⛲

Hey i haven't played in quite a while, uhhh why are there red crystals on the Prairie portal?
It means that a shard has landed in a realm (in this case, Daylight Prairie)
Oh sick thanks, sorry about that
Ok but I just realized that could be all of king clothes dying
PFFFFF KING CLOTHES
THAT'S A NEW ONE HASHAHSAHSHA
king of clothes
So true
“Oh honk, John played the king of clothes, what am I gonna do”
That’s hacked/misleading content and is not offical please delete
Where'd you get that lol.
anything not directly put into the game/announced by TGC themselves is hacked or simply false information, and any beta content discussion should be kept to the beta channels. please delete this.
That was a fake ‘leak’ from ages ago iirc, it’s never going live 😔 it was entirely made up
The idea is cool though I'd love to wear gw elder pants
Me too. I think wounded Warrior’s pants might be mirroring them (but with alterations to make them unique obviously) like how Gloat’s are based off Sunset’s. If TGC were to release more elder pants, it’d probably be in the form of spirits as well
I immediately went for wounded warriors pants honestly
I'm so sad I didn't pay enough attention the "quests" of darkness. I feel there's a Lot of hints about the more, especially the two last "areas" dunno how to call them lol
Do you mean the frozen memories from Season of Shattering?
Oh yea it's the void of shattering!! Thank you for reminding me the name, but yup, those.
oh hey welcome back alasdair!!
Yaya theres like a lot of underlining in the poems too
YAYY WELCOME BACK AL
You can still visit frozen memories by clearing red shards, but the ones you go to are random after you finish all the quests. Though luckily today’s shard in bird’s nest goes to the Elder frozen memory.
And thank you for the warm welcomes, yall 💚 happy to be back
Yaya the shard memories are randomized now but the poems for each one are pinged here
Oh thanks y'all
I thought at first we only get access to the last frozen memory.
I really should check all the pinned comment and try to understand all of the lore, but it can get quite overwhelming when you have so many hints but yet so little ahah
yeah its a little much sometimes
eventually youll get the hang of it!
fall into the loretrap fall into the loretrap fall into the loretrap
Oh yeah I completely get it! It’s not that clear for shattering that the memories switch around often usually, plus poems are unfortunately internet only which I don’t agree with, feel like they should really be in the game somhow
It gets easier to understand the more you play lol. I can try and get a simplified and short summary if you'd like?
just gonna- take... this.. thank you
where did you get this from? just curious
Ph that's a skull I thought it was a chefs hat for some reason 💀
That’s fanart btw. I can’t figure out who made it from a reverse image search for some reason, but just to let you know that it’s fanart. It is, however, a very interesting representation of what the corruption process might be
i easily believe this since that's what i think mightve been something similar in wasteland's graveyard; look at just how many giant bones/spines/ribs there are, they HAD to have belonged to whales, right?
As cool as it is since this is uncredited artwork it does need to be deleted stated in this pinged message here. Sharing another’s work without credit/asking the artist that is outside the server isin’t allowed seen here in this message, would appreciate if this is removed
I find googles app “search inside photo” function works really if other reverse image sites fail me. It’s how I manage to find most art that I know is stolen if tin eye fails to find the og poster
Guys sorry to bother. Is there any full post/ twitter thread or idk sonething like that i can read headcanons here? I just joined server and idk where to start. I mean who is sunset 👀
Not exactly a list of headcannons but sunset is like a innerworkinng name for the valley elders that the devs use but not seen ingame, you also got other names for the elders seen here but they’re not exactly cannon ingame
as for headcanons, theres so many i dont want to think about how many there are
The only cannon names we see are “Elder of the ___” for example and that’s it
Yes, plus head-cannon, while they can tie into theory somtimes aren’t really cannon either. (Hence the name headcannon). I Sure as hell know my magic hand and egg horror ones arnet
i will always dream about assembly abyss interactions and how marching adventurer will start a fire and abyss guide will join in
I think Salem has a good HC theory about the elderbird and rythm guide?
OUGH that’s super sweet
and soon enough youve got cannoneer shooting flaming harpoons
And cannoneer will stand in the centre and laugh
i tried finding it and the only source of that exact image is something on pinterest with no external link, or a speedpaint video that i'm not sure is even uploaded by the person who recorded it
Where's my assembly / abyss moffs?
Yeah i can only assume said person could’ve deleted their account or somthing
i started with season of flight but i was still super new (at least in mindset) during abyss, if that counts
I feel like ranting about the twins temple theme because i love it and find it so surreal, said theme ^
you can report it is a bug
one of my friends had something like this happen too.
I find it amazing just from the sheer VIBE of this part you can feel the bass deep within you and I was just like, whoaaa
Plus the temple is big and open, not as small/crowded as the other temple entrances.
And the fact it’s a long hallway really adds to the “very important vibes to it”
But then you got the twin scene and it’s just a lovey surprise how warm they are
Cue this message thami, its best to delete this since reposting others art is not allowed
I'd love to actually! At least see what the main plot, I had my ideas but I prefer hearing what's the main idea of the plot
what this message
im sorry, que means what in spanish
isnt it cue?
yess someone else who's a fan of the valley elders
they are my favorite characters in the entire game because the relationship you get from just that one cutscene is the perfect about of chaos and
vibes
and i love them
(Help your right I meant cue😭)
(english is hard dw bout it)
i love them because they play with your lil moff!!
YEA SAME BRAIN YOU GET IT🤝🤝
at the very least once a week, a month if i'm busy, i watch the entire cutscene for specifically them and the wasteland elder,,
Oh hey Alasdair is back
Anyways just GOD and none of the other elder themes have anything close to this, you think your gonna meet some very important elders that will be serious and all but the twins play with you instead, even their cutscene theme is called “Let’s play”
Also interesting their temple theme is called “Ellipses,” AND YOU CAN HEAR LIKE TEO HEARTBEATS ASWELL IN A ECHO LIKE STATE, i remember going on a long rant of what it could mean. Cuz like ellipsis means a pause
Ye ye so this is my version of it, others may be different and they can feel free to share
-Sky people arrive from a different land due to either lack of resources, or having used it all
-Darkstone is discovered, can be used as a main energy source for the kingdom
-They find Light Creatures that they find have a use, using their light as a form of energy and the creates themselves act as "horses", pulling carts, racing, whatnot!
-Im not sure what happens in between, but a lot of tension built up with the use of Light creatures and Darkstone. Darkstone mightve been the thing that corrupted the light creatures in the first place.
-Two sides in the war, Sun side and Diamond side. Sun side is assumed to be the side that is against light creature abuse. (I also theorize that the war mightve also been over resources like darkstone. But we see they're pushed back into GW)
-Basically causing their own demise with drainage of resources, corrupting light creatures, and harming each other + the citizens. They couldn't go to orbit no more
Thank you lmk if I missed anything
Like around 13 seconds there seems to be two heartbeats and I’m fascinated by it
Two of them
Also funfact the theme when we past Forest’s temple into the sunny forest area before valley is called “fading glories”
Just god the music can tell so much
Wastelands cutscene theme is called “Two hero’s” which could mean we and wasteland elder are both hero’s
And ofc as we see now some took refuge in vault
“Scattered toys” is Forests temple theme name aswell which is just
I appreciate you so much for taking the time to write your own interpretation
I was always wondering what was the cause of this famous war, since we saw spirits going against each other or at least have a side against them.
My thought was (Eden spoiler?) || the original castle, it seems unreachable unless when you get to the end of eden||
But were they able to get there before they died?
Sorry if my wording is a bit messy, my English is so rusty ahah
Oh oh yes the war def involved darkstone and light creatures as the reason.
And I don't think so? I think before the castle became the way it is now, it's where the main energy source was and where they could go to ascend, but after the war I don't think they were able to get there
A lot of things happened in between like the mining too
The best way, at least for me, that I've found is starting small. What little things do you observe and recognize from the realm? Finding these little puzzle pieces helps paint a broader picture and makes the game lore possibilities a bit easier to digest
I have two big theories about the game and the lore and it's a lot of info xD
I don't know why I didn't catch that sooner ahah.
Oooh yea it make sense. And that's why we have to travel all the way to Eden and the "rebirth" helps saving the wl but also the spirits, like opening a path for them??
O yes this is good advice
Yea! I do that from time to time when I'm with my friends and I'm traveling all the realms, even when I do cr. I think I'm just getting overly excited about hearing more and listening to what players have to say.
I'm actually curious about your theories too, I don't mind reading a lot
It's not hard to understand once you piece things together but there is quite a bit
least it's not like FNAF lore haha
Lord god the fnaf more is defo something else.
For real thoughh
Excitement over lore is super contagious, too! So that's great you take some time to pause and observe your surroundings. We do that a lot too. :3 It's so fun because then there starts to be more and more you connect and recognize 😄
(I'll see if I can condense it a bit.) My theories are mostly about the Eden Elder(if they really do/did exist!)
After going back to look, one of my theories has changed a bit with the newest season reveal.
Now, I like the idea that the world of Sky we play through is just a big memory. That the heart of Eden is a massive version of a memory shard of the Eden Elder. So what we fly through is whatever is left of the Eden Elder's memories.
Especially with the current season, we get another pov of the "war", i was thinking the new area to be like, some sort of library of memories? or something related to the sky people?
oh yes!! It's been great to have confirmation that the vault could be like 'The Library of Alexandria' type :3
Have you tried turning your alexdolly off and on again?
the vault has that library vibe, it reminds me of an endless library that keep going up and up.
The upper rooms with the "fake nightsky" like it is uh, how can i say it, and archive of what is the core of Sky's world? Like if this world came to an end, the vault would be here to show and explain the connexion between the realms along with the sky/stars.
Oh yeeaa!! totally
Especially since returning to the stars was their goal!!
Omg yes !! Moreover, the Vault is the only realm that feels like it was created by someone, or at least sky people. Since we're not around nature, but inside a big tower, and with the elevator at its center ?? aaaa. There's so many things to talk about around one topic
Vault is my favorite place in Sky. It always has been because there is so much richness that pings with me. I'm happy to meet another vault enthusiast and appreciator :3
Recently, I've been toying with the functions of memories. Mostly to connect the giant diamond at Vault summit with the rest of vault. I'm of the belief the the physical location of Vault doesn't exist anymore in the way we see it. But we, as Sky kids see it utilizing the power of the memory diamonds.
(Fluffy, I see you typing, so please keep going! 👀 )
Like, hiding with he diamonds' power? Or like we get to access it thanks your our light and connexion towards memories ? if so, why hinding/make it dissapear?
the elevator obviously brought the ancestors somewhere (that place most obviously being the "vault temple" or simply just the elder shrine since it seems the whole area is technically a temple)
but what if the elevator was supposed to bring you somewhere further? like, instead of being brought back to what looks like the first floor of Vault, but now much smaller and witha portal to the base of Eden, it was meant to bring you to the king directly, so he could help you up to Orbit? or even just. straight to the start of Orbit
Not so much hiding, but due to the explosion of Eden, the rest of Vault was decimated and caved in.
(My only proof for my thoughts being you don't actually have a way back to GW when you're in vault. Same after you've meditate at the summit, there is no way back after you've meditated. It drops you off in this desolate peak towards the Eden gate.)
I believe in the purple orb theory of the purple orb can create illusions and allow for us to see things that are no longer on the plane of existence we've been playing through.
With Fluffy's thoughts, The elevator may have originally escorted one to the castle that is torn apart and broken in Eden.

However, to ascend Vault we have to light memory lanters to power a very large diamond.(Which I believe to be just a very large memory shard)
If each level in Vault is meant to symbolize a realm in sky, then going through the realms to wake each elder allows us to power up their memory shard in the vault of knowledge because during our first play through, it's designed for us to wake every elder up before we can move to the next realm.
Of course, this did get me thinking, "How do the other rooms in vault exist then?"
The Repository exists because of the Guides shared space diamond. The repository is the guides shared space that we're always in.
The Archives exist because the purple orb bounces around the room.
The Starlit Desert exists because of the rose. The rose is the memory shard. (This is merely based on the fact that the rose glows the same shade of light blue as memory shard coloring)
ok but fr this could be a good explanation for the diamond of the elevator.
And as i was digging through some concept design of the game, i just saw that the ancient name of the vault was, in fact, the library
I use to think the Vault of Knowledge was the physical collection of ancestor spirits who could never ascend(due to whatever the heck was happening with the war), so vault housed them until the time came, but it never did.
But with Remembrance release, we get a mural of the diamonds simply being memory collectors :3
Must have been due to Eden's power maybe, some couldnt have the time to ascend, as counterback they manage to protect the memories of these specific spirits in the vault ?
Like it was their last hope of not getting just.. washed away forever ahah
So I was wondering, in GW before the temple, can anybody find any sun shields in the front part of the area? I can only find sun shields near the diamond that opens the GW Temple Gate
There is one that is cracked with a spear in it behind a tiny bit of corruption when you enter battlefield from graveyard. :3
That’s a biggggggg sun shield, spirit who held it must’ve been big
I have a feeling that near the vault entrance was the sun side's last stand
Exactly thats what I'm thinking, as thats where I find most sun shields. The diamonds are a lot more spread out/further out, as well as numerous.
So sad :(
Also I was wondering about these eggs, like what are they??? Is this some kind of left over Easter decoration or? Plot relevant in any way?
It's a reference to an Easter egg hehe. Someone theorized that theyre manta eggs
iirc that was a daily quest location from light awaits, and now it's just an easter egg
for the players who have been around since then
could still be included in worldbuilding if you could find some way to explain it, like them being manta eggs (which would be pretty cute)
I loved the colors in light awaits from what videos I've seen
yup, it's a leftover from Light Awaits, used to be a quest to visit them. literal Easter Eggs
thinking about mountainous isle
Speaking of isle, when they arrive didn't they set up a temporary camp of sorts? Could be my memory messing with me I'm gonna go watch it again
Ah they had little tents or decorations
Thinking about how Eden looks like a smallish city the further up you go, like there's even a humongous gate, I wouldn't equate it to the castle though, cause the castle looks too small.
I have pics of what I saw in ||Orbit||
Idk if these have to be censored, so I've spoiler tagged them already.
But anyways
Eden basically looks like an apocalyptic mountain city (it kinda puts into perspective how bad the initial explosion was to leave an entire mountain city in such a state, though in SoA Eden was shrouded in clouds before the explosion. I so wish we could have a chance to explore Eden before it was destroyed by the emo Christmas tree, from what all is left intact it kinda feels like a mountain-y version of the valley town. I wonder what the town itself looked like in its prime, and I can imagine the large gate being locked when things hit the fan, only for it to be blown open by the explosion.
So sorry for my spazzing out, I only just noticed all this

days of fortune theory: once again, the bunny is gay
the bunny is always gay
maybe rabbit masks are to sky what limp wrists are to us
which one is SoA
Season of Aurora
so true
soa could also be "season of abyss"
“Are they… you know…” 🐇
You dont have to spoiler tag anything in here
I wasn't sure, so I spoilered just to be safe

Can never go wrong with spoiler tagging! Tho TGC has announced that it is not necessary anymore
I really like your observation tho! I would also like to see Eden before the disaster happened

We also seem really small compared to the eden castle
I know what you are
I was making lore theories with my friend and I theorized that the pipes in wasteland and Eden were meant to transport dark water. To me this theory seems plausible, but we have no idea what the spirits might have been using the dark water for. Is there any hint in the game about it (or, if my theory is wrong, what else those pipes might have been transporting)?
maybe the dark water is waste from the factories/machines building stuff out of dark crystals and other materials?
I would actually like to stand on the castle in orbit and explore w my friends
thats what i thought
bc like,, darkstone requires like light to work right then what if the residue in the water was waste left over from that stuff and thats why it drajns your light
(all guessing of )
darkstone sludge is yuckee
Hey so not sure if anyone had found this yet but
I found a new mural is Respiratory(?)
Repository, and yeah, it shows vault people storing and using those memory capsules, so maybe there were survivors of the explosion who left those memory capsules for whoever might stumble through?
The platform looks a lot like the one we would use so maybe this shows the original intention of the vault
Probably!
OH! Which would make sense why the vault had floors dedicated to specific realms, so they could file memories away from where they came frooom. oooooohhhh!! Thank you for this!!!
I once had a “theory” about how each of the base game spirits had died.
Isle: Age/Starvation. Because the vegetation may had disappeared because of the darkness.
Prairie: Age. They seemed pretty well off, considering what happens in the spirit memories and the state of Prairie.
Forest: Age/Rain/Harvesting related accidents. The downpour may have caused a chain reaction by flooding, increasing the rate at which dark plant grow (trapping miners like this spirit
), and draining light.
Valley: Age. These spirits also seem to be thriving as this area represents the “golden age” this kingdom.
Wasteland: Conflict/Darkness. Looking at the polluted water, Dark Dragons, destruction, and the place literally called the battlefield, it is clear what happened to the spirits here.
Vault: Age/Starvation. The cold walls of the Vault probably could not house any sustainable food source, so they had a limited supply after the collapse of the kingdom. If they did have enough, they likely sat in the Vault looking at memories until they became one themselves.
I made this more than a year ago, before looking at any of the lore videos or this discord. What do you think?
#lore-discussion-spoilers message here’s clearer photos of the repository mural
so like in tbe flying race start area along the walls are the same stones that mark spirts in each realms entrance wonder if that has significance
Vault: Age/Starvation. The cold walls of the Vault probably could not house any sustainable food source, so they had a limited supply after the collapse of the kingdom.
Shameless fic excerpt
FEALTY ‼️
FEALTY ‼️
i gotta read 👀
Anymore of this
Hey just a little note, please don't ping Alasdair, it is said in the nickname
Oop srry didn’t notice
Huh? I did not know about this fan fic.
Oh well.
Also isn't it amazing to see GW is under clouds, right below the valley?
"oh yea look at this amazing city and health, what, a battlefield and death right below? Naaah"
Lol imagine. But yeah it is cool how they're lined up isn't it. GW must've either been one of the poorer resident areas, or a building / business area before it became a war zone
The sand as I said before might just be the dust or ashes of said buildings, since most of it seems buried
That's good :3
Can anyone tell me about the lore on The Elders? Are they the leaders of the Sky Children now that they're all free?
Not leaders of the Sky children themselves I believe because we're separate from ancestors, but they were the rulers of their realms is my take
brain is consumed by pleading child wandering into wind paths and playing with the flight spirits and riding on a manta and djfjsjgjjsfjjsfjsjfjd
GW doesn’t seems to have many residential structures, more industrial/factory/docks though there are also inaccessible bits we can see but can’t reach… fish might’ve been a major food source if water was once all like restored Abyss fishapalooza
The structures mightve collapsed is what I'm saying, and decayed into the sand or dust
Wdym, they have huge structures and pillars everywhere... in fact the big ruins in the battlefield kinda look like a big church or cathedral to me? In the concept art you see this market place too (tho not canon ofcourse)
Yes but I'm saying previously before it became a war zone! There mightve been other buildings that got destroyed, or decayed.@lean kayak
Well yeahh but i dont think they were as poor as you might think they were. War costs A LOT of money. Weapons, armor, shields, soldiers etc all cost money
Yes and… if they spent all that money on supplies, wouldn’t they be poor afterwards?
Also, we know that Wasteland didn’t have as much supplies as Valley. Many of the soldier spirits don’t even have armor; Wounded Warrior still wears damaged armor because they can’t get it replaced and it’s better than nothing. We also don’t know if the soldiers were paid or if they were volunteers. As for supplies such as food, if Wasteland was an agriculturally focused area, they could have gotten those cheaper as they wouldn’t have to pay for as much transport.
I don’t think Wasteland was strictly super poor, as this still is a lot of money they’d have to spend, but I think they were poor enough that spending all that money would have wrecked them hard, presumably a lot more than Valley
Of course, this is all assuming money worked the same in pre disaster Sky as it did for us
I’m not saying like broke poor, just poorer than the valley residents
this might affect the trout population /ref
Just a little dwbi 🤏
Oh hi Salem!
HI ENZAN
We don’t see many residential areas in-game aside from Dreams Village but they likely exist, we just have no access to them. Same could be said for Wasyeoand — EE just don’t see them in-game but prob rxisted
Plus game performance, valley is massive yet we can only get a glimpse of it
People gotta live somewhere
Not sure about before, but have just relived GW Elder memory and they have a sun shield!
That would mean-
if following the idea of:
diamond = darkstone = side of the king(maybe?) = not with light creatures (makers of krill?)
VS.
sun/light = no darkstone = against king(??) = for light creatures(??)
-that the GW Elder was against the king?!?
Or GW-E could’ve just picked it up as the nearest shield of course 😅
But TGC surely wouldn’t be that meh about these details
Another less exciting possibility is that these different symbols represent different ranks/companies in the ancestors army at large?
Meaning they are all on the same side but they just from different groups
^this would follow the theory that it was a war not between different groups of Sky people, but was Sky people against light creatures and the natural world around them
But now with the new Remembrance, it shows that there was definitely and direct conflict between Sky people
This then leans in favour of the diamond Vs. sun ( ♦️ vs ☀️ ) conflict
^what exactly that conflict was about is still not concrete but I am in favour of at least some of our ancestors fighting on the side of light
But back to the first point
GW-E seems to be on the side of light!
Against the king!
So what does that mean for the purpose of the GW temple?
Specifically who was it who resided there?
The king? I don’t think so
The kings darkstone making forces? Maybe, I think probably yes at first, but not later on
The remaining living population of Sky? Definitely some of it, but that would imply they felt the need to hide - from what?
The king?
The creatures of light?
The creatures of dark?
Continued>>>
Maybe thats why Tsadi was the least fave child /j
I do think the king became power hungry though
I think it’s most likely that Vault is an ancient space that seems to have accumulated some of the matter of orbit from the way it is structured and functions
It’s much older than the war, conflict and the technology boom (though elements from the latter were added later)
It is/was their sacred collective memory bank
Knowledge and life
Memory being the way to eternal life
I think that maybe, this is what the GW temple was for?
To protect Vault?
It was so important to them
But that then begs the question why would they need to protect it?
From whom or what?
The king?
I somehow doubt the creatures cared
If anything, if they had the sentient capacity to even understand what Vault was, they’d surely see it’s merit in educating future generations on what not to do
Though maybe they’d want to destroy the knowledge in how to create diamonds and the like…
Who is Tsadi? GW-E?
Oh yeah Alasdair is it alright if I start a chat with you? I showed Salem pictures of my rabbits yesterday and they said you might like them, so I'd like to show you them.
We do see what seems to be living spaces in Prairie's Villages (the little hobbit holes), Wind Paths (open caves stuffed with pillows and stuff) and Forest's Brook (e.g. the hut with the entrance to the Treehouse).
Not saying this disproves the extistance of GW residences - we see plenty of smaller ruins that could have once been someone's home. Just pointing out that there are homes all over the realms, even if most of them may not have survived the time that passed
I'm pretty sure they protected it because it held valuable memories of the ancestors, and didn't want people abusing those memory jars
Sun Side's last stand against the diamond side, who I assumed wanted to get Into vault for those memories
Which is strange from a locational perspective as Eden is after the Vault and the King presumably resided there. An entirely fictional option could be that GW and Valley were in a struggle primarily because of Darkstone production and maybe the decrease of light creature populations because of over-harvesting and instead of the Eden Diamon being the kings hubris it was more of an attempt to stop the fighting by creating a basically infinite battery source by harnessing the Eden beam. It would make the king more of a tragic hero instead of a victim of his own greed for his people
I'm assuming people may have tried to march onto the vault to get through it and to Eden/the King
Those are also fair assumptions which I can see being true
We've been seeing the Sun Side as the protector of Light creatures or the "good side." But what if the diamond side was really the protesting side? I don't have much faith in that because of what happened with pleading child's mum.. but who knows. Both sides in war could be bad
Definately, there is not good or bad in war, only different sides and priorities
Taking notes from the last bit as I haven’t seen that as an explanation for why the Eden Diamond is There before
I mean from the shard memories I'm assuming (and thats a big assumption) that the light creature population decreased significantly compared to their numbers in the past. Even in current day Sky we haven't seen them in the same amounts at one place. Considering the light creatures were used to power darkstone technology, the pollution and the decrease of light avaible would be an easy recipe for war
Hmm I’m not sure, definitely corrupted
And definitely thought themselves indestructible
Wanting to reach the highs of possibility
So maybe not for themself, but more so like a scientist wanting to push knowledge and tech as far as possible?
Eg. Atomic bomb
But on our dear sweet king
I also just relived the last part of shattering o.O
There’s a wl at the top of the fractured MASSIVE diamond
(Which btw pulses between nearly red and white when you move your camera)
But it’s an an unusual wl
Firstly it’s at a slight larger scale, it’s bigger than us
Second, it’s not one figure, but 2, hugging.
………. 👀
Is that not limbo at the end of Eden?
Don’t we walk into the diamond at the end of Eden? 👀
Above the 2 hugging wl figures is what we understand to be the shape of the king, but a more thinned out version of the shape
(Btw someone above referred to this/the king as the ‘emo Christmas tree’ and I’m very much here for it ✨)
Is this then, when we hug that hunched grey figure in the darkness/limbo, the true essence of the king (Alef was their name I believe?)?
The Skyd who had a destiny (prophecy) to bring the power of light to all the realms below the cosmos (megabird)?
That innocent and simple thing going beyond what was the balance of light and dark in this universe?
This potentially implies then that we are saving Alef over and over again
Is some kind of time loop
It’s almost as if Alef is frozen in time
Stuck in the moment of explosion and implosion
Whether through the power of themself or the power of the unstable simultaneous dark and light power within the crystal, Alef is stuck in this never ending purgatory
Until we come and find them
For I think in fact maybe, we are them
With all our memories wiped
We and Alef are one in the same
The explosion/implosion fractured us/Alef
We are fragments that have are scattered
We are part of the megabird that was given a sense of self and self agency
We must return the balance of light and dark
And to do that we must-
Remember.

The Eden beam however is basically an infinate, ever present source of lightliterally beaming into the sky. Its not a light creature that can die and harvesting from it would (presumably) not result in an ecological disaster resulting from species loss (hindsight is 20/20 with the edensplosion). The Eden Diamond would basically function as an infinate fuel source for all of the realms and could theoretically make everyone happy as it would solve the resource problems. Surely a king (who may or may not have been a sky child similar to us) had good intentions and a love for their people? After all they went through the 4 trials and succeeded. It would make their end at the diamond even more tragic, they only wanted to help his people and bring the people of the light to greatness.
Righty
Oooooo interesting
That would make the ancestors the force behind the need for higher tech rather than mad scientist Alef
Very plausible
But why? Why would they need the memories?
To use them? Or destroy them?
My guess is that if diamond side was Valley and sun side was revolters, they might have just been invading Wasteland to try and put the rebellion down. Sun side may not have been protecting Vault, but their elder
Probably because they contained useful information about darkstone and light creatures
A fun fact for you all: the last shattering poem implies the diamond may have had some structural flaws that weren’t fixed before it was put in place.
We also can reasonably guess the idea of putting darkstone over the beam wasn’t tested at all before it happened, given that they still went through with it.
The Eden beam and its health, as we can tell now, was very important to the continued survival of everything in the realms and — even before the disaster — any elder or ancestor could likely tell you that endangering it without a good reason was a bad idea, especially not testing to see how it would go first.
All of these combined imply that the diamond may have been an act of desperation and they simply didn’t have time to do anything (checking it for flaws, testing it in a safe environment) that would have avoided the results we got
it go boom
Or Eden diamond is giant overclocked memory crystal
Was there no way to get to Eden other than through Vault?
I doubt it
I think Valley and Eden were connected
If you just kept going up the mountains you’d get to Eden
Looking at the map, Vault is to the side, entrance of which is GW ‘temple’ which is at the base of the mountains
(Also complete side note, I saw a concept pic somewhere which showed the great mountain itself has huge ancient murals on it at the base, no idea if this became part of the final design but I love it ✨)
alternate universe where the eden diamond didnt kill everyone and the world of sky is still alive and well
Aurora quest/concert backstory AU
the map might not be an entirely geographically accurate depiction
especially the vault part
you reach the vault from the GW temple, and then inside the vault, you technically go straight up to reach the summit. the individual floors of the vault are just spread out onto a 2d depiction. some of these floors might not even really exist in physical space
someone else here made a great diagram of how the vault is most likely built inside the mountain
are/were there other ways to reach eden? maybe, but depending on resources (darkstone to power flying boats) or eden's defenses (turrets? old concepts showed that turrets were at least a consideration), any other way to reach eden might have been unfeasible
I wish
Btw question: is this a statue or a petrified ancestor?
Omg I never even considered the beam o.O
Absolutely!
Ahh this is all so fascinating
Faults in the diamond indeed…
Could you put the words to the poem up please? 🙏🏻
It would add the idea that Alef was not mad scientisting it for the pure fact of pushing knowledge/tech
But for the love of the people
Trying to find a solution that would please both the diamond (don’t care about light creatures) and sun/light (fighting for light creatures)
And being done in a rush to appease both parties
Flaws=cracks=imbalance=unstable= 💥
You can find all the shattering poems here, for reference! There might be more diamond tidbits in the others that I’m forgetting
KAPOWIE
That would definitely fit
But if the world was entirely a memory projection, it would not have fallen so far into ruins
But did the diamond explosion happen before or after the war? Or during?
Much thanks~~
Oooo hmmmm
Could definitely be-
Actually no I think it definitely is inside the mountain/mountain range
(Crikey that means that Vault could expand indefinitely! O.o)
Following the idea of the beam of light constantly coming out of the mountain
If Vault resides within the mountain
Could Vault and the beam be somehow connected?
We have no idea where that beams coming from/gets it’s energy? (Unless someone knows/has an idea…? Look)
They could be working off the same source?
Or they could be all part of the same matrix?
As to travel, ski lifts?
Flight paths?
Wind tunnels?
Light creatures?
Some other form of tech that was lost in the 💥?
Etc etc
Also, anyone know/have an idea what the other 6 doors in GW ‘temple’ are for?
Other places inside the mountain?
Other realms?
Other Vaults?
There are so many possibilities for expansion it’s insane 🤩
Speaking of expansion, this likely will never happen but I'd love for all kinds of doors to one day open. Like the tower in treassure reef
Anyway does anybody know what this is? Statue or petrified ancestor?
probably a statue
it doesn't look quite as darkness encrusted as the spirits we find
Yes but its beside a working slingshot. Seems like a rather strange place for one tbh
Yes please~
And the one in Forest ‘temple’
I’m thinking petrified probably
As you say, it’s a bit pointless otherwise
I remember seeing art which was about the mountain and it was like a cave system... was it Vela who drew that?
Found it!
yes, that one!
Honestly it made my jaw drop kphfklydkq
Just went and did all of the spirits/current quests and holy crap this is sadder than expected
It looks like a statue to me but it could be either?
Season of Get These Spirits Warm Soup and Therapy
Fr we need that
Quest where we make soup and follow up quest where we distribute soup hugs and blankets
Event where we get to hug every spirit
Also I like how all of the clothing apart from the child and teamaker is exactly wasteland color
you have bunnies? I have bunnies – oh my gods, DM me
Sun sun sun
These are the shields furthest away from the temple, closest to the graveyard. Most diamond shields are found close to Temple enterance. Ever so curious. GW elder has a sun shield too. I genuinely don't think it was ancestors who wanted to exploit light creatures more vs ancestors who didn't, I think it was more of a resource war and who got to control what, possibly location based too. GW could possibly have been more marsh-land based perhaps or a giant port area too. Industrial hotbed, the laat area before Eden, the heart of the kingdom. It might even have been as technologically advanced as Valley, it was simply much closer to corruption however and perhaps noticed it sooner. The only group that feels like they care about the light creatures specifically are the Flight group and the people in sanctuary.
Perhaps a touch off topic but when did skids and spirits start blinking
When I left around shattering that wasn’t a thing
Not so long ago actually, I think around last summer's update
iirc it was an update in late 2021
I’ve noticed the game generally seems more vibrant as well. The lore implications of skids blinking is immeasurable /j
Also I have a theory about why there’s so many blank stars in the remembrance constellation, I think those were the spirits that we see die in the memories
opens Sky to count the stars in the Remembrance constellation
Like there’s a couple spare I think but
Also spirits appreciating it when you visit is new, I like it
the latter was added for Days of Fortune. some even give you enough light for a candle
So you actually have a reason to go around and relive spirits outside of quests
now, there’s always been empty stars in every constellation, but even I noticed just how many there were for Remembrance
Light creatures also mightve been involved, I do believe that it's more over resources but the mantas are intelligent enough to know which side wouldn't hurt them, or they were forced into it but I'm not sure
Pleading Child's caregiver who was taken by soldiers.
the bearded lad who died in Tiptoeing Teabrewer's charge.
the florist who died in the attack in Wounded Warrior's memory.
Bereft Veteran's son who never returned.
that's four. there's five empty stars – unless you count the guide.
There’s five and only around four die/are arrested so I’m unsure of who the last star could be
I think its interesting how the only militaristic elder we see is the GW elder. If Valley of Triumph really were the diamond side, wouldn't we see more militaristic motifs for the twins at least? Instead they're wholly focused on the sports/competition aspect. I mean this could imply that they GW Elder was already more militaristic in general pre-war and that he likely was more involved in it then the others.
Hmm.. I don't have much evidence but I believe all the elders were involved In the war I some way.. not sure if they disliked each other or not
So maybe bit of both for valley twins
it wouldn't make a whole lot of sense for any of the elders to not like each other (at least with the current lore we have)
I assumed they were divided on the war based on their realms
Well that was one of my theories. In shattering they mightve gotten together and put differences aside before kaboom
What about the big table and chairs in vault 2nd floor?
it's possible Dusk had a military beforehand for protection from some outside force.
yes, Salem, krill
I wouldn't assume that they were all friends, but they were surely friendly enough to meet and cooperate for the sake of the kingdom and its people
but whether the kingdom's turmoil put a strain on their relationship is hard to say
big tall people, tall ancestor big big tall /j
it's been pointed out that the table and chairs are too small for the Elders
I mean everyone was likely involved in the war but to what amount? Does this imply that not all Elder were actually rulers/leaders of their regions? Could it be that they were simply that, Elders? Like their primary job being helping other ancestors ascend to megabird and find peace. And they interact with their people in the various ways they know how/thats their own. Like Isle ushering people along for safe passage into the kingdom, Prairie caring for the light creatures and collecting them, Forest specializing in diamond technology, valley encouraging sportsmanship and entetainment, etc.
So they don't really control their realms, they're just extremely highly respected, and for most part the people ruled themselves
Yeah. They tried to save it in the end but it was a bit too late
I mean, Elders could've been representatives or held some status near the King
I imagine the Elders would've been primarily focused on their realm but given how power diamond production required resources from across the kingdom, they would've had input in the war. it could've been a battle of proximity – since Wasteland saw battle over resources that Valley of Triumph depended on, both Dusk and Sunset had their people directly involved while the others could've been indirectly involved, such as supply resources, or stayed out of it entirely.
I'd also like to remind again that it's not known if there was an all-out war/whether that war involved the elders
the news article of season of remembrance calls it 'turmoil' and 'upheaval', which sounds a lot like an uprising coming from the people
depending on the general position/tasks of the elders, they could have tried to a) defend the king, b) defend their rest of the people from the dissenting parties, c) side with their people, d) try to remain neutral and focus on continuing their 'jobs'
Yeah that's what we tryna figure out, elders involvement, if they even were involved. The options you listed are what I've been thinking about too
we don't really know, as we don't see any of the elders directly involved in this conflict
the closest we have I think is the GW elder in defensive position in their cutscene, as well as in the cave of prophecies, but this might just be their general occupation - to protect the gates of the GW temple that are the entrance to the vault and eden itself
Also how exactly has it been established again that the war happened before the Eden explosion?
it hasn't!
the timeline isn't quite clear, and we're all just working with theories of which some may make more sense than others
That honestly depends on whether you think there was some sort of use for the army before the ‘war’, for instance keeping krills at bay like how Alasdair mentioned earlier. If it was just a revolt that ballooned out of control, it makes it harder to connect how they got some of their equipment, but if it was formerly a combat against krill they’d just use the ‘leftovers’ from that.
We do know from this projection in Night’s cutscene Dusk was either involved with leading their troops in the ‘war’ or in the combat beforehand. They also have a general theme of being defeated and heavily wounded that would correlate well with being defeated in warfare
ik it's a common thought that each side of the war had at least one Elder supporting them like military leaders, but it's also entirely feasible that one side did not have Elder support at all or at least not in a very obvious way like a general
it certainly shows them leading a troop
curiously... that on the right seems to indicate the bones of a fallen creature, so perhaps this might imply their original position was to protect eden/the king against hostile creatures, not people
Yeah like ribs
That's a good theory for their original purpose, thing is, if the cause of the war was from the people, what made them so angry to start protesting in the first place?
this still doesn't show how (if at all) the GW elder or any other elders were involved in the ancestor vs ancestor conflict
They could also be protecting ancestors from krill! No reason to assume they didn’t care about their people, possibly just as much if not more than the other things.
I assume the blue diamond is darkstone ?
the environmental exploitation, most likely, and also possibly whatever is up with the eden diamond
Lack of answers probably got them angry too, like the king not responding or avoiding the problem
We don’t know how long the Eden Diamond was in place before it exploded; it might not have been around during when the revolts started
We need more crumbs
Eh, we probably have enough, I just need to start thinking creatively about how I’d figure that out
power diamond manufacturing is not without its consequences – mining for darkstone endangered miners, the production process created darkness pollution that would've harmed the ancestors and deterioted their environment, light creature exploitation would've garnered ancestor sympathies, and, as Salem previously suggested, darkstone technology was distributed unequally among the populace
We have enough to have a general understanding but not the little details of who was involved, different theories on how the war started, and a proper timeline. At least I haven't figured that out yet
This prophecy mural where you can see the diamond springs to mind
Tasty. Is that alef?
I haven't been to prophecy cave in a while
¯_(ツ)_/¯
Also, I can imagine wasteland and forest shouldering the brunt of those consequences and having a front row seat to all the violence required to harvest light creatures, while valley consumed most of the darkstone and didn’t have to suffer its consequences, would cause a rift after a while
valley probably didn't feel the consequences until darkstone production came to a halt and their gondolas and other devices stopped functioning
imagine they just stopped mid air while people were on them
hence why I said distributed unequally – Valley were major consumers of darkstone technology but seemingly were not too involved the manufacturing process while Forest and Wasteland don't have much darkstone technology yet, as you mentioned, dealt with the majority of the costs.
Yeah, exactly. All those darkstone devices may have been started to be fancy, but after a while they depended on it
Is there a reason why Valley got more darkstone than the other realms?
capitalism
But the bridges and doors in Forest seem to have a lot of darkstone... and GW has this big door thingy which looks like Forest's refinery/temple's a bit
basically
mostly probably because the demand was there
first it was used to traverse difficult ground, like the gondolas connecting villages and distant residences with the city
but the valley is very big on flashy shows and such, so they soon enough adapted it for that too
oh right the hills and slopes lol
Forest has a lot more darkstone than Wasteland because it’s likely where darkstone was first discovered or invented; Rain’s cutscene theme is titled ‘the invention’. They were likely experimenting a lot with darkstone and what you could do with it there.
Meanwhile, we only see darkstone being used in Wasteland when it’s absolutely necessary and nothing else will suffice: the lighthouse in treasure reef, the alarm system there too, the darkstone grate that keeps krill out of the temple, and boats. Compared to Valley, it’s a stark difference
possibly demand. depsite the name, Valley of Triumph is mostly on a mountain range. it's difficult to live at such high elevations due to the cold, lack of land for agriculture, treacherous terrain from climate and geography, and lower oxygen levels. darkstone technology would've made it easier to settle and eventually thrive on the mountains.
also as rooty said, Valley is very decadent. once their needs for survival were fulfilled, they could spare time and resources for pleasure and play.
using darkstone to bring you up to the ski slope
Do they really breathe oxygen and are affected by the cold?
I wonder if the war happened after the Eden diamond explosion, people already being discontent pre-war and the diamond being a last-ditch effort to stop the pollution and give everyone the energy they needed. But then the edensplosion happened and darkness spread everywhere and resources became even more scarce
But I get the other stuff of what you said
Yes and yes — abyss guide gives us a rebreather, which they also use, and we can clearly see ancestors in colder regions wearing warmer clothes
not sure, though ancestors do tend to be more bundled up in colder conditions like the Wind Paths (wimdy) and Dreams ancestors in particular, so presumably they do feel cold and want to be warmer.
True but the difference is that GW basically only has military structures left, the rest being devestated and covered in sand. Treassure reef also wasn't really a place to live as much as it was a location for excavation and possibly experimentation.
Fluffy ye t i
There are a lot of structures poking through the clouds that we see when we fly between Valley and Wasteland; those could be the ‘residential’ parts of Wasteland. Unfortunately, as of now, we can’t explore them
rip golden valley
Season where we shoo away the clouds and go down there when
shoo away the clouds
In the concert a lot of places that are now clouds had water in the past (underground forest caverns, beginning of valley w the mantas) so I’m wondering if the area between valley and gw was actually full of water too?
Keep in mind also that darkstone pollution to the extent in Wasteland would probably, ironically enough, lead to increased darkstone demand there. More present darkness, a darkstone lantern will keep you the most safe. Smog and smoke everywhere, darkstone gas mask. Weaponry and turrets strong enough to keep away the creatures corrupted by pollution, most of those are gonna have darkstone. Being able to move doors and grates strong enough to keep out beasts as massive as krill; darkstone again. So on
Well, considering there are many massive buildings there, probably not
Fallout: Sky when
we’re living it
ur right
It depends on how you interpret the Eden disaster, honestly. I’m unsure on what I think it did for the ancestors, but for the elders I interpreted them as getting sucked into the diamond, which might be where they are now (I have a theory on this). It’s hard for me to imagine at least some of them not present during the war, especially Dusk, who both has a sun shield and is generally Not Doing Great in the way you’d expect from someone whose realm is utterly destroyed from the aftermath of war, meaning I made it take place pre disaster.
consider: triangle crabs from the switch trailer
TRIANGLE crabs???
I think they were LOL let me rewatch
They had like the shards on top so I said triangle
Non corrupted shard crabs 🥺
Yep one had a cone head
Why am I giggling at the concept of done crabs 😂
Hopefully we'll get some in the future :)
Are these crabs friendly because they got the evil cooked out of them or??? They're the only friendly crabs in GW wich is hella polluted and infested with dark crabs. Also what kind of corruption is the weird darkness balls? Like what even are they, they're not dark plants at least.
You kno what would’ve been rlly cool. Some players theorized after the first beta concert that the wings allow you to explore the scenes in the concert, rather than reliving the entire thing
Like let you explore grassy isle, watery underground caverns, etc
The dark balls is simply TGCs way of outlawing all afk-ness in their game; I don’t think it has any deeper meaning than that. And there are also friendly crabs on sanct island!
that's a thought. all hostile crabs have darkness while passive crabs like in Office, outer Sanctuary Islands, and at that Wasteland bonfire don't
Again, did the darkness get cooked out of them 😂
I WISH
that's what this scene seems to be implying! we don't know much more than you, we can only suggest theories
it's probably less the heat and much more the intense light of the fire
just like our skykids can charge by standing directly in the flame
It would be interesting if it was possible to take a dark crab, put em into the fire and have them turn light again
i actually wonder how they ate crabs
they look like little rocks
Same way we do probably, crack open dem shell post-boil
lmao
well, we don't know if they actually did
that's the impression i got from pleaful parent, then i thought- maybe the reason they're in that pot (no longer skewered) is to cleanse them of darkness ?
huh, maybe they naturally had darkness?
Nvm nvm i didn't think thonk
Hola, buenvido al servidor de Sky: Children of the Light. Desofortunamente, la regla del servidor es inglés único, pero hay un servidor español en el Sky: Niños de la Luz wikia o busca en Disboard.
Lo siento mi español es pobre, yo no pratica
We ask everyone to please post only in English on this server, @frigid tinsel. Unfortunately, moderators and staff aren't able to support all the languages spoken by our global Sky family.
Yea yea ik ik
i brought up how they're eaten literally bc of the sticker for this server asihasd
Lol ur right Tho. Maybe just as we clean food before eating they had to clean darkness as a process
also possible
maybe, just something fun to think abt how they ate/what they ate/ect
and how
Maybe some sort of abomination under the mask
ancestors warping like ghibli's noface
omg
absorbs the crab
i hearby declare nodding muralist in days of fortune the biggest W of the year
I love the muralist and how much they're enjoying themselves
that evil laugh emote with the fire makes it look like the dragon is breathing fire
Or setting the dragon on fire if the timing is accurate
Hey is it just me or did the Lightseeker daily trees get bigger again?
They did seem larger
muralist having a BLAST
Oh I would LOVE it if it was true
If it did get bigger that would mean that the lightseekers are taking care of the saplings!
Muralist on the dragon is so pure, they’re having a great time

How do we know the names of the elders? Also what are their names..?
I am still extremely happy that days of fortune is enchantment themed this year, I was worried it would never happen. I love them so much I’m #2 Nod fan (the first spot was already taken)
Noticed these statues while retrieving my
in eden. Were those who dressed similar to vault have like a status? Is that why there’s statues of them?
(Note: I bet Uncorrupted eden would be gorgeous to explore)
We have no idea, sadly. I’d have to track it down but I vaguely remember Ash telling us they didn’t know either. Those statues are a Mystery that might never be solved
That’s unfortunate :(
I have this memory from lorechat about me asking the same thing, someone in lorechat suggested that it was a parallel to PNR (the statues/structures in particular)
PNR?
Point of No Return.
Ohhh oki thanks
Hi! I'm relatively new to this discussion, it's been awesome so far! Just to throw a couple ideas out there about the timeline - and I'm not sure if this is the assumption we're working with or it's been confirmed or disproven.
I've been thinking that all the realms represent one or more civilizations over time, because there:
(a) isn't an easy way to go back from e.g. valley to forest, and even when it's possible (e.g. to go from prairie to isle), you have to fly to avoid the wind - so generally the only way to travel from one realm to the next is to go in a sequence, except if you start from home or from the wind paths.
This relates to (b), I haven't noticed any signs of trade between realms.
Then, there's (c) the change in architecture and technology - the buildings seem to became larger and more elaborate over time, with technology in valley that makes things float (the gold circles in citadel and the ski lift-type travel in village), but in wasteland (unlike valley) it seems like everything has fallen apart and been abandoned, on top of the lack of light creatures.
Also, there are signs of light creatures dying in valley (the manta in front of citadel) and as people have mentioned in this discussion, there is only one light creature in wasteland, plus the whale between valley and wasteland.
In terms of the shards, maybe eden has erupted many times, but the shards from eden can be melted without damaging a realm?
Sorry if I'm reiterating something that's been established or disproven, just wanted to see what others think
One of the things that doesn't fit with that kind of timeline is the wind paths - as far as I know there has never been a shard event there, but obviously individuals lived there, so maybe it's a region of sky that exists out of time?
Lore behind little prince???
so im about to go to orbit, and im trying to think about just what the ruins are that we fly through at the very start...then those giant tombstones that look like they could be for the elders?
and then that strange floating castle above the world...
Well the ruins and castle are “Eden” which kinda got blown up and blasted into the sky.
As for the tombstones, they look identical to the ones in vaults summit. Perhaps those are the originals and the ones you see in vault are a recreation
like with how big it is, it had to have been the king's castle, right?
yeap
Might be more akin to a temple! We know the elders have those, & it’s listed as the Eden temple in the isle temple lineup mural
I always love to envision the orbit castle as the main hub of where the realms connected. It makes me happy to envision ancestors just walking the halls to go between realms.
oh it's listed as a temple? :0
The slow heart beat in eden is the king right?
given its location and ornate nature, it’s also not impossible to make it be a general temple to the Light rather than a specific person
That's what I like to think
Yeas it’s the top one
Below, you can see the entire Vault (which is also all a temple, fun fact) & then the Wasteland temple
vault reveal (its long)
Honestly the whole way vault works in the sky universe confuses me. Like how do you get to eden from there?
When you get into eden are you sorta just, already on most of the mountain due to vault?
Looks like you get warped there
If the Vault we visit is a replicate of the vault that once existed, then it's possible taking an elevator to the top of vault would deposit you to the entrance to Eden.
this is also off the idea that Eden rests atop a mountain, so Vault is taking you up, inside the mountain.
Wait no, since the final room is part of the vault too
How interesting! Yes that could be true!
then this image is inaccurate
clearly it used to be structured like this
No one in Sky knows how to draw maps, flashbacks to map shrine diagonal Vault. No wonder the enchantment crew got so horribly lost
Lol, you make a good point.
Fortunately, I do think these murals in the beginning are only meant to give you a simple depiction of the important buildings you're looking for, rather than an accurate, location in comparison to the other buildings.
The power of sheer knowledge allowed the vault to support the weight of the entire castle
Poor Enchantment crew. Their directional was the stars, but when those fell. They were lost
I like to imagine their goal was the Vault, which makes it very funny because it’s a giant glowing mountain visible from Isle, how do you mess going towards that up
makes me also wonder: how to we get to vault from wasteland? since there isnt a door that we come from (i think?) to enter vault
since behind us is...solid wall
The wasteland temple sits in front of the vault, kinda protecting the main entrance into it!
directly in front of it? :0
More likely our own cos we only hear it when we’re dying and we hear a heartbeat outside of Eden when handholding or piggyback riding, likely form other skykids in our company
Yea, after visiting Dusk in their temple, the doors open to the Vault
It’s right there
so that makes me think: vault is also within wasteland? or something like that
sorry if these seem like stupid questions, just trying to figure this out :\
wait wait I think I got it
The Vault is likely within the Eden mountain, so the Vault entrance/Dusk Elder temple would be at the base of the Eden mountain
Does imply some super interesting things about Dusk purposefully positioning their temple to protect Vault as best as possinle
probably to protect it from the opposite side? maybe there was something or somethings within that they couldn't afford to get to the opposition
I think it would make sense to have an increased protection around the Vault given that it seems to contain large amounts of power diamonds and the memory-stone technology, which could potentially hold a lot of important information or history
For one of the spirit’s memories in the new season it shows that they were being attacked with spears, could there have been a civil war? Possibly between those that saw how creatures were being used and were against it and others that were for it?
hi lore chat i’m still working on my silly little lore presentation for my friends! is there a source i can go back to look at about the lore and story for each individual realm and elder? (whether it be a message or a google doc, etc!)
Omg pls tag me if someone knows of such ^
it seem like it! the seed part of the concert shows a spirit vs spirit conflict too
we can assume that these seasonal spirits were refugees hiding in the vault
same. i would love to explore eden fully one day. it looks so... grand. the real pinnacle of the civilisation. and i'm one of the people who actually goes through eden every time to experience the full thing
also am i the only one who feels like reliving and learning expressions from the seasonal spirits feels wrong?
like.. we're learning from their darkest moments. their family just died. like... bruh
Has the lore been updated? Where can I view it?
ingame or in this channel? because there's no single place to view and read the lore. there is new lore tidbids that came with season of remembrance, but we're still constantly discussing and theorizing what any of the scenes mean
I saw the really great idea in this channel that the entire area of TLP might have been something like some of the memory cubes spilling and manifesting as the Starlight Desert
Where the memory cube is the rose thing
Has the castle above eden floated before or after the calamity?
judging from the mural in the cave of prophecies cave (see here #lore-discussion-spoilers message) it might be that the eden diamond was originally embedded in the mountain and the castle was built on top of the mountain
the implication seems to be that the castle got blown off when the eden diamond ruptured/exploded
i was thinking that the cutscene when you enter the isles of dawn was some kind of vision of the kingdom before the collapse
For real though. And it'd be so big too
it's like.. a grand castle. what we fly by is only the entrance
what glory lies beyond, we dont know
if you burn the dark plants there are butterflies :3 so besides the manta at the beginning of GW there are the butterflies which are also creatures of light
how do you think spirits react to shard events? would they be panicked or would they be like “oh, hi gerald”
and also, what happened in the 3rd flight quest? ill be honest, all i remember were rocks and ugly colors
Finally I am not the only one who thinks that Flight has that ugly color phase
But iirc corruption has reached the windpaths and messed up the wind currents making the birds loose their flying balance and mantas getting trapped in darkness
i was thoroughly disappointed the two weeks where it was permanently green
We get a couple glimpses in the Aurora concert but I don’t know what to think of them. Maybe these are what it looked like at the time or maybe the devs didn’t edit the look of Eden from Isle so it’s as-is.
Possibly just some reused assets
The view from Isle is only visible for a few seconds if you try to be at the front of the flock. The view from the Warrior song is visible for much longer and has different clouds on the mountain than usual. Maybe the one from Isle was the default but the one for Warrior song was customized.
Headcanon about Seasonal Guides and Seasonal Spirits
Seasonal pendants are like friendship bracelets that were given to each seasonal spirit from a spirit guide
i am proud to have 4friendship bracelets
Yum

I embrace myself having the flight and performance friendship necklaces

Here’s a lore doc
#lore-discussion-spoilers message
continuing off of this, do you think the season guides are like their own “mini elders” of their respective areas? they kinda seem like a parental figure to everyone in the area, and after you complete the quests (help their people) they bestow you with the highest award (ult gifts)
also, when you complete the quest, all the season's spirits gather and ascend, with the guide staying behind
Actually there is an exception to this. Flight Guide also ascends, but they’re still in their spot after you finish the final quest. My headcanon is they like seeing the Wind Paths so lively again and chose to come back down to guide anyone who needs directions or help.
also some of the normal spirits stay around after they ascend (the performance kids stay in the harmony hall, for example, and the dreams skater stays skating around the ice rink in the village)
maybe its just something with village of dreams? lmao
They fill out a form of consent to come down/stay down /lhj
and thats not including spirits coming back for holidays and stuff
maybe whenever we free their spirits, we're just allowing them to pass freely between orbit and the sky world. they mostly hang out in orbit, but come back for things like traveling spirits and holidays?
Well if that’s the case then I got a friendship bracelet for a giant rock and the embodiments of light and dark 👍
i treasure my performance friendship bracelet, performance is such a meaningful and nostalgic season for me 🥺 my performance kdidos my beloved
Yes I completely agree with you
(the performance part) /gen
Have you seen the performance concept arts tho?
NO??? SEND
RHYTHM AND PERFORMANCE BEING SIBLINGS MY BELOVED
Bet they got into shenanigans
Performance has a special place in my heart cause my school put on our musical around the time the final quest of preformance happened. I cried with both
AWW THAT IS SO SWEET
Awhh
Flight beloved, wind paths aunt
I go to them every time I need a hug for the daily quests (nostalgia from moth days)
My moth days were in the early days of the world release. No one had any clue what they were doing and we were all just flying around and the wasteland hold particular trauma
the aunt who I assumed kicked a bird and now a "former apprentice" of Ayin 🧍
Also just the whole season of abyss
Abyss was spooky
Abyss genuinely gave me joy
It's like that one scenario in a horror scene; it's either the scariest thing they have ever seen, or the funniest/goofiest thing they have ever seen
I really did love abyss bc pirate vibes and big guy
My skykid at the time had the biggest “I am so done with this” face when we got swallowed
idk man I took a selfie when cannoneer was dead
performance to me is just bittersweet because these kids must have passed away right before their performance and they finallyget to rest easily knowing that theyve put on their performance finally
I remember seeing the theory of vault? Or vault theories? Like a year ago.
Abyss was the best season and no I’m not totally biased
Why must you say this

aaaagh and then the Rythmn guide showing up to support their sibling and finally see their show… I bet they were each others biggest supporters in life and Rhythm was so happy to do so one final time
I like to imagine them as twins
I think that’s canon, or at least heavily implied to be! One of performance guide’s character card tidbits was ‘twin of a past season guide’
Dawwww 🥺
Have you heard that the perf guide and rhythm guide are bros/twins?? Ahhh thag last scene was so cute! Where performance guide sees his bro in the crowd then goes to hug him or somethn
ohoho thats right I totally forgot!!!
Performance will always be one of my favorite seasons, purely because of how it not only connected an old season to a newer one. But it was just so sweet.
yes they were so cute :) Preformance looked very surprised to see their sibling and Rythmn seemed like they were so proud. I’ve always enjoyed how easily Sky can tell an emotional story without words via the connecting threads and implications between the spirits. I like to think that Rythmn also collaborated with Preformance a lot on their shows with the music and vice versa.
Performance is one of the best guides to me. I adore them with all my heart
They’re really sweet… I love the implication that they were super excited to teach us the art of theater too and watch every shows skykids put on
Oooh the music right. I knew this one guy who HCed that perf guide and rhythm guide used to be one huge group. Then rhythm guide split off to adventure and some part of the crew went w hkm
But ofc he still goes back to see his bro’s perf from time to time (and maybe brings the whole rhythm crew w him too?). And maybe perf guide is the younger bro by like 20secs or something and that’s why rhythm is so proud to see his baby bro put on a whole damn performance?
Abyss was always my fave but the back to back of Abyss + Preformance was legendary which was probably why Shattering flopped so hard for me personally (among other reasons aka it was a migraine inducing eye strain nightmare)
They’re like a travelling vs stationary theatre groups
I love his cape n mask too. My friend hates his cape tho lmao
YES like rhythms is a traveling circus thing or something. Considering one of his spirits is the juggler guy and that’s one of the circus y acts
I like the idea that Preformance is the younger sibling. I imagine their personality is very dramatic and flashy and possibly they felt like they lived under their sibling’s shadow which led them to want to break away and do their own thing, and instead of a rivalry establishing between them both it just made them closer because they were both so excited to work on things together. I like to think that whenever it was scheduled for their two groups to meet up and do one big show it was a MUST SEE event throughout the kingdom. They are both great.
I just don't like the shoulder pads on their cape on normal skykids.
His cape has shoulder pads?
Yeah their cape does, it makes their shoulders look a little broader and fancy
Its a bit more sharp then normal capes (also psst.. bio, you dont need to follow it but)
I personally really like it but I don’t have any pants that I think fit if super well. it looks awesome with the mask though
as I missed out on the super fancy anubis prophecy mask i covet preformance’s gaudy as heck mask
I feel like fireprophet would fit (i assume everything fits with those pants ngl)
Ima actually try out some pants with perfs now (with my small pants selection)
Omg I’ve never noticed it!
heck yeah try it out!
I think the orange flight pants fits w his cape too.. but then imo flight fits w everything bc I love it sm
Perf cape has the same issues as krill cape for me.
I adore them both, but they don't fit with much due to their shoulder pads, and just general colors
I like the cape but the yellow inside is too flashy for me
I’m a bit sad i never finished out flight cosmetics but I got one of the pants, the navigator hair and cape and all of the hair feathers so i’m happy enough
Krill cape is great to make a void outfit lol
Gotta ask… is ur username a typo or intentional low
Honestly flight is one of my favorite seasons, cosmetics wise, and design wise.
All the flight spirits are mine, and I claim them all to my pride club
It’s based on a meme from a tiktok comment someone made where they misspelled purple as ourple
Now that’s one cape I don’t like the shoulder pads on. It looks so awkward on my skykid 😭
Intentional. It’s a funny misspell of purple
Krill cape + stagehand pants makes a bit of a void haha
i need stagehead as a ts so i can complete that look

BABHAHAA
Yup! Stagehand outfit, krill cape and void mask
Lemme try that actually
ELLO
pls tgc stagehead as next ts 😭
It’s nearly invisible in areas of wasteland and vault
What’s void mask
It’s the “no mask” option
Ahh
this isn’t lore but I’m gonna twist it enough to count so i don’t have to leave the channel:
unpopular opinion but i LOVE Abyss cosmetics. they are so cool to me because of how they mirror historical scandinavian/“viking” era clothing! coupled with the design of their boat looking so much like a knarr, which was a merchant ship used by the vikings, it really makes the history nerd in me geek out. the Abyss guide’s cape has that cool decoration on the front that resembles a fancy cape broach commonly worn by both men and women and the small triangle patterns are also really similar to how cloth was decorated back then! Boatswain’s hat was also a very standard seafaring article of clothing used at the time. i adore it all even if they aren’t the most flashy or fashionable
Angler’s tunic outfit as well is like textbook everyday wear for the same time period
Honestly abyss has some of the best cosmetics but its so overlooked!!!
Speaking of time periods, it feels like every season is slightly based on different kind of clothings from different cultures or periods! Its so interesting to see.
Weren’t y’all saying angler was that remembrance florist’s sis or something, or her cuz or somehow relayed. Bc of the clothes
Yeah I love them too! Even if I don’t wear them enough they really fit the whole scavenger look
Like the bright colors are nice but softer browns and cooler less bright tones are awesome and fit the theme for abyss super well
Fun fact for you: sometime during/after Aurora, they made Rhythm do a dance emote at the very end of the cutscene where they reunited. Because of the way the cutscene fades away during it, though, it looks like they’re winding up for a slap 💀
I wasn’t saying they were related no, I don’t personally believe it because we don’t have really a lot of evidence. I know it isn’t Angler for sure. the florist spirit could have just been chosen to wear the tunic to have a simple looking outfit typical for a civilian. But they could be their sibling or relative, it’s possible
“Ayo dab me up”
CAIN INSTINCT ENGAGE
Sibling behaviour
OH MY LORD just a good slap
The samekh effect
I love the scaled cape the best, with the little dark stone clasp. But where did the scales come from
I checked it for myself because I couldn’t remember if this video actually ended where the cutscene did or if it was just for comedic effect. Turns out it’s the first and I laughed uncontrollably
“do you remember the last time we saw eachother alive and you gave me a noogie and ruined my ponytail? ive been waiting my whole afterlife for this moment to repay you.”
It honestly takes skill to get hair that flat in a ponytail I don’t blame them
Or “you idiot, you made me so worried!!”
SAME that’s one of my fave capes in the game. I swap back and forth between them being the literal scales of a creature that Cannoneer defeated or they’re sort of like armor plates in a scale pattern
I think Performance’s oblivious look as the slap rapidly approaches really adds to it
Scales seems to fit Cannoneer ngl.
I imagine they wear it like a badge
“surely they don’t remember the noogie”
OOO yaya
They’d tell abyss guide stories how they fended off I giant sea monster by themselves with their BARE hands (fish was already dead)
HSBSHAHAHA THATS SO CUTE THOUGH
Right before the slap would connect the cutscene fades away and you’re left to imagine what happened
Talking about abyss I’m sad again about the scrapped manta-seal things
LMAO they found a beached whale or something ages ago and the only one who knows the truth is the Captain but they’ll never tell
To be fair they are quite capable from what we saw (except for getting eaten ig)
They scrapped a lot in abyss that I think would of been so cool (like big boat)
i can’t look at Abyss concept art i’ll start malding
wasteland fashion makes me go so silly I will bite someone
Man talking abt cannoneer is making me think of their character again like
They’re seeing as very prideful and takes collecting resources as a competition. So much so they put their life at risk to prove they can be useful (getting salty a kid did better than them)
And after their saved, after cannoneer shoes the diamond to Ceasing they just hug them cuz they’re just so happy their safe
I'm also not normal about performance because I'm a theater kid myself and frantic stagehand gives me secondhand anxiety for the concept of them doing everything themself
Yeah!! I honestly think the florist in Warrior’s memory wasn’t related to Angler at all; those pants were just chosen to imply where the scene took place because they’re common Wasteland clothes
Theatre is. Not osha compliant
Yaya im thinking of the concept art of wasteland outfits shown in abyss
not even that but stage crew is a job for several people not just one
There’s only one stagehand they’re just really fast
I got to watch a friend do abyss not too long ago. And I had completely forgotten how freaky it is, and how wholesome it was at the end.
It made me feel more than when I first played it, almost a year ago now?!?!?!?!?!
I noticed the abyss discussion and
I just wanted to mention how I did some abyss spirits recently and oh my goodness where did cannoneer get all that g e n d e r
this is what gives me the anxiety
They’re hoarding it all so no one else gets it
Cannoneer and flight spirits are keeping all the gender for themselves and not giving me any
commodore and cannoneer hoarding all the gender
Genderfluid cannoneer real they can be all or no gender, the whole package
“There’s only one gender
and it’s
mine.
yall can’t have it”
-cannoneer, probably
Critical gender deficiency due to cannoneer
Wasteland couture is either very simple cloth made for the sake of effiency with whatever can be found or PIRATE
abyss was an absolute disaster for the gender economy
I hate that its actually in character for cannoneer to steal all the gender just to be better
It totally is. Just like they did with darkstone
They don’t know what gender is but they’re stealing it
ceasing captain is also personal gender for me
Winning at gender
“Gender is a competition and I’m winning at it” — Cannoneer, probably, without even knowing what gender is
Real!!!!
Ceasing Commodore's beard gives me strong gender envy ngl
yeah I thought of you when typing that
The two braids are so good
Commodore nodding along, holding within them untapped gender the likes of which is astounding
The true gender, the final gender
Something about Abyss implying braids are super important/common in wasteland culture and Dusk having a braid,, you could make something with that I think
I love this animal the grill
something about being a ship captain is so gender affirming to me
cue skybot making their “battlebraids” comment here
if my beard ever grows long enough i’ll def braid it for sure
AUGH DUSK DOING IT TO KEEP THEIR HAIR OUT OF THE WAY AND OTHER WASTELAND ANCESTORS BEING LIKE HELL YEAH BRAID TIME BRAID ERA
All sky spirits are gender now, its decided
Real and true
Sunset splits the gender
I can’t handle this amount of gender anymore, going to take a break to avoid gender overload
Thank you, Commodore, for your gender
the Megabird’s Gender paradox: all Sky spirits exist in a quantum state of every gender identity at once and none at all at the same time
can you imagine Dusk teaching the ancestors how to braid though
Okay consider it’s the other way around. They do it to connect to their people
al do you have vela's art of tuna with the whale hair
OUGH YEAH OMG, LIKE HOW TO DO A BRAID SO THEIR BRAID IS RLLY FLUFFY LIKE THEIRS
yknow how Elders' blessing is passed by giving skids their hair?
Dusk braiding skykids' hair
I love that sm though
I have that same idea too like the elders just styling a skykids hair when they get their ults
I imagine Dusk used to have more hair before the Horrors so maybe their braid used to be a lot more intricate and full, maybe they used to have more than one! Fun but bittersweet to think about
yea yea yea, Elders doing skykids' hair has me all soft
because like dusk's mask is a whale so i believe that before the wasteland was a wasteland YEAH SALEM
Dawn and day slapping the bald heads
day styling the skykids:
HELPPPPP
Dawn just shaves skids hair and glues it on their chin
Day:” you sure you-“
Skykid:”Bald.”
Day:”I mean I can keep the hair-
Skykid:”Bald.”
for Dawn's beard, I imagine like Dawn molding the skid's hair downward until the light coalesces into their beard.
Day just parts the red sea
Wait hold on so if the elders are the ones trimming skids hair, then what in the world does Night do
I like to imagine Skykids hair as like physical manifestation of light energy into easily style-able blobs so I approve
THE DUHUYI CAT RETURNS
I Can see them making a sort of light cloth and wrapping it around them
teaches them fun headscarf ties
s m o o t h
OUGH I’ve also had ideas in my hc of nights ult for sky kids having patterns like what a lot of hijabs have (which is why nights headscarf is based on) in irl
Liek a skykid wants manta patterns on their headscarf? Night does that
Context
They’re playing bongos on the grass
See it’s literally the same picture
Stealing this btw, I imagine star chart patterns would be super common as well
OOO YAYAY
But then you got like
Night:”Any patterns you want? I can make them for you-“
Skykid:”Beans”
Night:”…Wh-“
Skykid:” Beans.”
Okay but like
🫶
OUGH IMAGINE RHEY CAN BE A SHIMMER LIKE COLOR TOO
LIKE FOR THE PATTERNS LIKE
tac, I love how you draw Night's headscarf as like an actual headscarf with cloth texture and not just a flat white blob
Man I can’t find an example but like white fabric and the patterns are like an iridescent shimmer that stands out
And aaaa ty Al
it always confuses me cuz like clothing folds and all (like when folks don’t add clothing folds)
ough, imagining Night blessing Naihho with this cos of Naihho's hair loss
OUGHH

Can you list the names of the elders of what we're currently calling them
You guys are making me wanna draw some different headscarve patterns
The Elders (plus the king & prince) have names based off Hebrew letters from concept development that are no longer canon, though the fandom sometimes refers to them as such:
Isle – Daleth (ד)
Prairie – Ayin (ע)
Forest – Teth (ט)
Valley – Samekh (ס) (they share a name, though the fandom refers toas Sah and
as Mekh)
Wasteland – Tsadi (צ)
Vault – Lamed (ל)
Prince – Alef (א)
King – Resh (ר)Though it seems the devs refer to the Elders by the times of day their realms represent:
Isle – Dawn
Prairie – Day
Forest – Rain
Valley – Sunset
Wasteland – Dusk
Vault – Night
Eden — Storm
sort of like these?
OUGH feel free! Hijabs can have so many pretty patterns you can draw anything really
Oo not exactly I’m thinking like, white fabric but the patterns are semi iridescent/holographic that shine in certain light
Thank you
THIS LIKE THIS EXACTLY LIKE THIS WITH A MORE IRIDESCENT SHIMMER
do you think muralist made the dragon and thats why theyre going mental on it
bc theyre so proud of their creation
I like to think the gratitude troupe made the dragon, while muralist painted it and put their own touches (and that of their crew) on it!
OH YOU RIGHT
Yaya i personally think nod just did the murals on it
they glued themselves to the dragon by accident
A fun fact is that this year, the wax you get from the dragon is multicolored like the colored lights, implying the enchantment crew might have stuck some of their light inside to put their own touch on it. I hope next year, whatever group gets fortune adds something to the dragon as well so you can see it just get more ornate over time with the personalities of all these different seasonal groups
I want assembly
i just love how proud/excited muralist is when it's dragon time,,
Assembly orrr prince
(Beaned)
If we get rhythm troupe along side elder bird next year I will explode /positive
This is entirely based on speculation and Vibes, but to me the season groups that have gotten fortune so far seem distinctly isle themed. I can totally see both gratitude and enchantment being from isle for a few reasons; plus, the dragon is made in the same style as the prophecy masks, esp its face
So I can see next year an isle season will get fortune… praying its prophecy
Would you think performance, if they get fortune, would make the dragon put on a costume
Me watching a bunch of household items be dropped from the dragon (Assembly was the chosen season)
Oo true your right on that!
Plus it’s the year of the dragon next year and fire prophets mask looks exactly like the fortune dragon so
(I do hope the dragon mask is more Chinese dragon inspired tho I love the lil horns and whiskers that have)
Sticks and sticks and buildings and oh my I love assembly
season of shattering fortune where the dragon is all cracked and crumbling and falling apart
If they put that rock on the home space I will let the demons take over
shattering takes over and the dragon is just replaced with a red shard
You can't even touch it
muralist is on the sidelines in tears
Hi! A Sky lore enthusiast here. Does anyone have theories about how the darkness came into play in Sky? The entirety of the population of Sky Kingdom died over the years. I think the events didn't happen THAT long ago before the Skykids arrived because the structures and stuff in the Sky Kingdom we see now are mostly intact. Unlike another game with similar lore like Journey where we can see the effect of decay and wearing over time in ALL of its structures.
I am also not sure how the citizens of Sky might have used light as. There is tons of proof though that the Sky people might have used the light to power their society, like we see that for many of the doors we use light to unlock them and they created devices which can store light inside them. Also the theory of experiments over the Light Creatures turned into Dark Creatures like Crabs and Krills is now even more prominent because of the introduction of literal laboratories with trapped mantas and murals of experiments over on Treasure Reef.
Another place where it confuses me the most is the fact that The Forest, Valley and Wastelands Elder throw the piece of light brought to them up in the Sky. What does that even mean? Where are they sending the light to? Also another confusing thing is about the King of Sky Kingdom. In a mural in Eden we see presumably the King holding a very brightly glowing Diamond in his hand and everyone praying to him. Was that the source of power of the entire Sky Kingdom? Or was it an attempt by the king to contain all the godly energy and then use it for something? Idk.
Sorry that it's too long rip.
I can't comprehend large essays but I can answer the first part! I'll dissect it later
I think the darkness came because of the corruption of eden, including technology gone wrong, war, draining resources, and removing the light from the light creatures
Darkstone also had a big role
Also another thing, Why do Skykids go to eden, save the trapped children but then a week later there are trapped children again and why do we keep doing this over and over? Who are those children? Why are they trapped inside there?
Fellow sky kids I believe. They died bc of the eden and draining light
Do you think that the war was with Man vs Man or Man vs Their creation?
What were they fighting about tho?
Hmm.. a bit of both? It was definitely a war between people vs people, a civil war we've been theorizing about over darkstone and resources, and whatever corruption the King had. Light creatures abuse also could've been involved or were forced into it
darkness, as a force, seems to want to capture and contain light, keeping it from moving. a being of light without light is presumably put into a slumber when darkness petrifies them. only with enough light could that light feasibly escape, as when skykids gift their petrified kin with winged light or bursting out of the leviathan with the spirit manta was freed.
[btw when posting large textwalls (which we like here dw) it's better to double paragraph them instead of single breaks so it's easier to read]
Yeh double paragraph helps and I am also incredibly tired so I'll head out for now
Yaya!
Also there’s the possibility that darkness could also exist naturally, the leviathan could be an example as there’s no other creature that looks similar to it
Also they and krill despite being different species seem to coexist, and the levitaran seems to just go into the darkest part of abyss, as if it’s returning to their home imo
Could’ve swam to the surface like what some krill could’ve done but it didn’t
I don't think that there was a civil war between the community of people because recently during the Aurora 4th Quest we see people fighting against the Krills and Dark Creatures, not against other men. [Spoilers for Journey Plot] ||It's a Stark contrast with the lore of Journey where people fought with other people and built gigantic machines to help them aid the war||
you have a home in the Sky Queendom!
If someone could get a screenshot for you during the concert they're seen fighting other sky people. Krills mightve came later on
Krills mightve been weaponized but I don't have evidence to support that. They actually mightve came first and were just a side threat to the civil war
Who would they be fighting then if it wasn’t a civil war? There no hints at all of another kingdom beside sky
Plus all remembrance spirits show memory or guards with similar models you’d see with twirling champion and pink and red cape
Plus even if they were fighting krill I think it was just a common enemy
Ok I actually don't know anything about Season of Remembrance because I'm not playing Sky atm. I'm in the middle of a break. Need to catch up with remembrance later on

Yaya, i won’t say anything else cuz spoilers but the main theme is to tell the story of refugees that got stuck in the middle of the war and how it affected them
The remembrance news post explicitly mentions unrest and turmoil in the kingdom. It is not necessarily a war with another nation, but more of an uprising within the kingdom.
Yaya i agree, i think it happened inside the kingdom itself which is why I see it being a civil war of sorts
In that very same quest, we see the Seed of Hope being hit in the back with a man-made weapon, an arrow or spear or some sort. That is not a Krill attack.
We have little solid beyond that - of who was involved and why exactly this unrest started - just a bunch of theories, but this much is more or less confirmed.
I never knew the names were based of Hebrew letters, that's so cool :0
Hey psst, check someone’s name to see if you should ping them or not!
yea, it is. these names are more fanon now jsyk as Ktjn has stated multiple times that the Elders' names are [Realm] Elders "for a reason," though I and many others prefer calling them these names
btw don't ping me please, says so in my username
If I had a nickel for every game I’ve played where some game feature was named after Hebrew letters I’d have 2 nickels.
Which isn’t a lot but it’s weird that it happened twice
That was one of the conversation ever. “There’s an important reason they’re called [realm] elders” [refuses to elaborate, leaves]
I get why they couldn’t tell us but now I want to know the reason so bad
It’ll probably be one of the last seasons when we find out which sucksss😭
anyone have any interesting theories on what the wounded warriors mask is ?? to me it looks cracked and almost like its showing whats underneath the skykids masks
I have this! To me I was thinking it could be like layers but there are tons of other things it could be
Hey guys, so I know that the king isn't a very liked guy around here, but, do we know what he has done specifically? I heard that he was (is?) The main cause of all the problems in this realm, and that the elders weren't fond of him.
But what has he exactly done to be so much disliked by everyone?
Also as he caused the war?
Regardless of what he did I'm gonna blame all my problems on him 💔
It’s a common assumption, for whatever reason, but we don’t have any evidence that they caused every problem in the realm and that the elders didn’t like them. In fact, there seems to be more evidence to suggest they were given the role of stopping those problems and yet ultimately failed. From what we can tell the war revolved around darkstone and was not caused by them
Holy cannoli Salem is typing
Ohh, that's interesting.
I remember that the figure of the king was a pretty mysterious one since we really didn't know much about it, but now that you mentioned it yeah, I do recall that they were supposed to solve some of the problems related to the realm and ultimately failed.
And there was a theory that us skids came in after the king to fix their and the kingdom's mistakes.
Lil add on but even then we don’t really know what role the king could play in sky as there’s very little known about them or if they’re even called a “king” at all
Since the king in concept art was associated with a big bad ruler in sky, and with how sky diverts the hero’s journey I personally don’t think they wouldn’t even play the same role ingame with them not being around at all and only getting statues and possibly two murals
Possibly the king/prince is both light and darkness... Darkness that engulfs eden and the light that's trapped within
Like you’d think if they were a “king” they’d be SO much more than statues in only golden wasteland but there isn’t, like you’d expect atleast more than two possible murals but that’s pretty much all you get
so would that imply that the "king" is just the eden elder ?
WHAT DOES THIS MEAN
means some good stuff is about to drop 👌
Oh I’ve thought about the kid in eden being yourself in a way! Fruitzie mentioned the idea and I pretty much built off of that
what if the statues in eden were actually all you in your past lives so you're just reincarnating yourself over and over
Pretty much yeah, and to me a king would kinda break the theme the elders have going on, none of the others are called kings/rulers but instead elders, one not being better in the other
i thought of something similar linked in the message above this but short answer I can see it the kid we hug being a winged light that another skykid puts into our statue to help us ascend
I go into way more detail into the message I linked
There is a bit of evidence to suggest this, yes! They have about the same amount of murals (if a bit more) the other elders do, plus some other assorted things that are kinda Out there but I can try to explain it. Interestingly enough, they are at least implied to have been a skykid instead of an elder
king also looks funky. Funky lil guy
I'm of the opinion that "the king" as derived from concept art doesn't exist but rather "Chosen One" is their iteration in Live
We don’t know this for sure yet but there is heavy speculation that the kid in the animation teaser is them if that helps with getting a visual at all
Yaya!
If I recall was it cannon sky-kids don’t grow up to be elders? I think I remember somebody from tgc mentioning that which would be interesting
I'd really like to discover their story and what made them take the "chosen one" path
Likely yes! It’s from a translated transcript of a stream; unfortunately, the phrasing makes it unclear whether it’s in a game mechanic way or biologically. I’d assume it’s the second, though
I'd like to know all the elders background but King especially
Oo okay that is super cool then, does imply some sad stuff that the eden elder was just some kid shoved into the position of an elder for being the
”chosen one” basiclly then
Not out of malice from the other elders and frankly there’s no backup to know if that’s what happened but yeah
We can see from their mural in Eden that they were at least somewhat liked, too. I don’t think they were evil in the way the king from concept art was, I would be really surprised if that was the case
Yeah same like it would be Sky diverting their entire theme to make an evil villain for the edge
aaaaa
That means that if the theory of skids being sent to fix everyone's problem is correct that must mean that the king was just the first failed attempt, altoguht with a potential, wich led to the creation of us skids, the "better version" of the prototype king.
I could go so much more in detail about this but I am very tired atm so I will probably write an essay tomorrow
i settled in lore chat before i settled in cozy :(
hmm yes fair we are discussing the eden "king"
I actually believe this too!
Chosen one being somewhat of a test drive for skykids, but when the kingdom eventually fell, The skykids we play started to come down in mass, maybe megabird realized that you can’t do this alone this that’s why there’s so many skykids
He looks skrunkly in an untrustworthy way
That feels like how people would describe me I’m not sure how to feel about that
For real maybe he's a sympathetic villain?
Like I doubt this is what happened but-
maybe he thought what he was doing was for the good of everyone but it wasn't
And him being the king would make sense as he his the first of us sky kids, the king of our kind
i like how a dude is a triangle
I’d disagree, I just see them as the first of many. Not really see as a king/ruler to the rest of the skykids but just a kid like the rest of them
No reason they’d have to be a villain!
Oh no of course not, I'm just saying the pressure put upon him immediately maybe broke him in the long run
someone should've told them about quiet quitting
Like the first bird for example isint the king of the birds they just happen to be the first
Why be eden king when they can be eden queen 💅 /j
well, they could've
I'm open to it
As Alasdair said above, even king might not be an accurate descriptor, really, so they might not be that either. I don’t mind if others use it but I ended up stopping due to a few reasons, partially because it implied gender and ties to the concept art version of their role they might not have
I just call them "king" for short, as a term for ruler despite gender. I could get into the habit of saying ruler though
I prefer Chosen One, sometimes shorten to One
weren't they given a name that I can't remember
going by the times of day names, there's also Storm
so I'll try to get into the habit of calling them Storm or ruler but king might just slip out here and there
Yaya! Like use what you want but with what I’ve built upon in my theories the king doesn’t really work anymore
If anything One would have the same power as the other elders and not above them in power, which is what a king would imply. All the other elders rule their own realm but none don’t have a different tiltle but the same tiltle
I regained all my energy I will write an essay about this.
If what you say is correct then it means that the King's mistakes were done not out of malice, but rather out of poor knowledge and incompetence, what he did was what he thought was the best for all of us, that was all eh ever knew, if he was truly just made to solve all of our problems then we are working with a kid that was put the weight of an entire kingdom on his shoulders, and if he had no prior life experiences then he was truly bound to make mistakes, even irreparable ones. Perhaps he was a character that was given too much power for his own good, with no idea how to use it, wich means that he truly Didn't know any better being upset at the king for what he did can be reasonable but to a degree. If you are correct then it must mean that he truly had good intention, but the pressure and weight that he had pretty much ruined the little bit of hope that we could have had to fix some of the mistakes that were done. He had good intentions but the wrong means, he ment no harm and wanted to do the right thing, and yet was replaced by us as soon as he failed to fulfil his purpose.
This will be my headcanon now, I'm a king apologist.
YEAHH
this begs the question, where were they during the KAPOWIE
What is the kapowie?
dw i think the same thing from what i've seen here; someone that was just mislead or misunderstood the severity of the situation or had very little knowledge on what was happening, ect
The eden diamond boom from shattering memory
had the thought that Storm tried to stop the Eden diamond from corrupting by sacrificing themself. it worked, at least for a short while, but it soon began going awry. then the Elders tried to deactivate the diamond but it blew up in their faces first. as a result, Storm is gone, irrecoverable.
Either already gone or (possibly likelier, we don’t know for sure yet) getting downloaded along with everyone else
would it be safe to say the diamond explosion killed the elders that were seen in the memory?
Yesssss I like this theory too. I think maybe he didn’t even choose the position? Like maybe the kingdom kinda.. pushed him to take the title of king bc of x,y,z he did if ya kno what I mean
That's very saddening
Or maybe as I said, he was made for his role, his entire existence was made to fullfill that role
That’s my interpretation ya, I like to think the elders were gone first and then everyone followed minus the few survivors that died shortly after
That’s a good theory too
Yeah I gotcha . It's awfully sad once you think about it
Closest to death that they can experience, I’d bet. (I doubt they could die and become spirits in the traditional ancestor way). In my theory, they’re stuck in the diamond now
that also makes me think: why is it only that isle elder is the one that appears injured? like, his mask is shattered and he's using his staff to stay standing. i always wondered about that
He's just old and sick. /j
And the whole no former life experiences, etc and the weight of the crown thing 🥺 maybe he was too adaptive to the kingdom’s wants and wishes, too pressured to do this and that so he gave in until it kinda got all out of control
Give him a break 😒 /j
Wait wait, do you not repair his mask by using the light you brought to him in the cutscene? Wow I rlly do need to go back and view these cutscenes it’s been a hot minute lol
It kinda reminds me you need to be a strong ruler or people will try to take advantage
They aren’t the only one; Dusk also appears injured!
TOOK THE WORDS OUT OF MY MOUTH
sorta – on one hand, the Elders do look like they could've been hurt by the Eden explosion as shown in the frozen memory. on the other hand, the Elders are present and animate in their temple pocket dimensions and in Orbit, looking very not dead, yknow
there's a thought that the Elders are in a liminal state between life and death.
I have the personal theory that the Elders were split, some of their light got sucked into the Eden diamond while some escaped, reforming in their temple pocket dimensions but with much less light than before. they're weak, requiring our light offerings to survive, and largely disconnected from their realms.
who is that? pls say what elder they are bc i dont know their names /nm /vlh
WAIT WASTELANd ELDER RIGHT?
Which sadly happens in a lot of irl scenarios 🥺
Dusk is Wasteland Elder
The forest elder doesn't seem physically injured, but it appears they have lost alot of their prized possessions. Hence, them being excited at the sight of our flame and quite rude when taking it
okay aishdasd i'm tryin to learn the names i apologize
i haven't watched wasteland's cutscene in a hot minute i should rewatch it
check this out: #lore-discussion-spoilers message
The vault elder is also injured! He appears to be quite slow when moving and his mask is broken
this is super useful thank you omg
I wouldn’t say rude but just instantly being hyper focused in a creative flow and excited to build something again (happens to me when I draw
)
It doesn’t even have to be lack of knowledge because they didn’t have much experience; the elders, who almost definitely would have that, would presumably have helped them to some extent. I seriously doubt they’d give control of the entire kingdom to a kid and then just walk off and refuse to help, no matter how much they believed in their supernatural capabilities to solve things. More likely, what they were trying to prevent was so unknown to everyone that they did their best to stop it and it wasn’t enough
Yeah, they forget we’re there like immediately 💀 accidentally throw their hammer at us and everything
skid: I have lig–
Rain: GIVE
maybe that's also why valley's elders also pretty much play with our moth: they have something to like. do again? since everyone else is ded
I also imagine they need light to call their hammer back to them, so they could’ve also lost their hammer and just miserable
ruling a dead civilization on top of being trapped in an unchanging pocket dimension would be rather boring, true
Oo i can see that! Their theme is called “shall we play” too
just sleep like Prairie does
WAIT THERE THEME IS LITERALLY "SHALL WE PLAY"?? AAHH THAT'S SO CUTE
THEY LITERALLY DO PLAY WITH YOUR MOTH
ellipses be upon ye
I love ellipses

I feel like the twins are the youngest, if they have age at all? They seem kinda childlike but maybe that's just twins being twins
Makes sense, they probably did try to help the king, but even so his help wasn't providing many solutions nut instead caused more problems, the king was a cause made out of pure good intent that ended in a disaster, kinda like the aftermath of a pity party where the only participants were the kid's parents and us skids are the janitor ment to clean the whole place.
valley twins my BELOVED
yeah I know
I have a VERY wip theory about how what each elder does with us & our light symbolizes how they interacted with it before the kingdom fell, hence why Rain snatches ours (they invented darkstone and ‘snatched’ light from the environment to put in it), Sunset plays with ours (Valley being filled with a ton of darkstone gadgets), Dusk protecting us, so on
Live laugh love valley elders
meanie rain
actually, interesting – since the prompt for lighting Dawn Elder's altar says to "awake" the Elders, I think that before skykids came, the Elders, trapped in their pocket dimension, burned through their light and eventually ran out, falling unconscious. they awoke when the first skykids gifted them light offerings but it was little at first, so they'd fall asleep again from time to time. it's only when there were more skykids visiting them more frequently did the Elders manage to stay awake for long periods of time, even being able to ascend to Orbit
tbh I would throw a hammer at people if there weren't repercussions I kinda get it
Amandercore /ref
Oooh I like that. Basically they need light to stay awake just as we need light to survive and not become gray
I think that’s also what happens
But I’m evil so I like to imagine they’re fully conscious for god knows how long they’re stuck in there
I don’t think calling them childlike is quite right; after all, they ruled over a massive, complicated, beautiful city. They might genuinely just be playing with us to cheer us up because they guess at what we’ve been through to reach them and know all too well the wasteland that lies just beyond their temple
WRONG REPLY I AM SO SORRY i meant to reply to this
also one can be playful and still mature
Disndnfnf hi.
Yeah you could be right. Also maybe jokingly sibling rivalry
I need to give rain old jewelry and help them extract the previous metals from it so desperately
Yeah like, I can not see them as completely childlike and ruling such a beautiful and prosperous city
Like they can be silly, but they can be serious if need be (which I think is a nice balance too)
relevant fic excerpt
YEA!!!! I AM ONE AND WE ARE TWO!!!!
i wanna play w/ the valley elders ngl
I bet they throw skykids and toy with the wind currents for fun
Ah gotta brb
sunset putting skykids in the washing machine
With childlike I ment more of a mindset and knowledge, what they knew came all from the elders, and I doubt that the king ruled over for a long time, and being thought by others isn't enough to have life experiences, the king needed to do things to understand better what surrounded him, getting things right and many things wrong, observing the environment, interacting with it, messing everything up and trying to fix everything back up, although he had knowledge, he didnt really have much experience on how to correctly do things as taking care of the Kingdom was supposedly something he hasn't done beforehand, wich is why I compared it to a childlike experience. Kids are really smart and knowledgeable, innocent, curious, and despite all of that they can't really be trusted to do much as they have little to no life experiences.
Actually, do we know for how long the king has ruled over the Kingdom?
I meant to reply to the message above yours with that message, sorry 💔 I would believe that was true for at least the beginning as well, hence why I’d think the elders supported them. I do have a timeline theory on how long they were alive but it’s not confirmed, and… it’s a lot shorter than most would expect
TLDR: I don't think the king knew how to properly do things, altought there was a good intent behind it
No problem, it actually made me get more of an insight on the king and his hypothetical situation so ty <33 /p
At the end of the day, I don't think the king was actually a villain, but rather a good person that has done alot of mistakes and bad things, with no malice behind it
I agree that they weren’t born knowing how to do things, but to be honest, I think for most of that they’d at least ask the (other?) elders for help. There’s no reason why they wouldn’t, and for others, I’d assume trust their best judgement and lean towards the option they thought was best.
Unfortunately, the disaster they were meant to prevent was so new that no amount of prior experience would have prepared anyone for how to solve it.
Yeah, really, the disaster was bound to happend, regardless of what measurement were taken to prevent it, really the king was just a poor attempt (altough one full of hope) to prevent what was supposed to happen, and since there wasnt much to work with it ended up being the disastrous aftermath that has been left to us skids to fix
There wasn't really much that could be done to fix this 😭
Actually looking at the Citadel, I wonder if Valley was somewhat self-sustaining. There aren't any ancestors around to power/provide the stands with light energy anymore, but there are plenty of clouds there instead. The clouds power us/give us more light, I wonder if specific places like citadel were built specifically because of this environmental advantage. But it could also be its one of the few/limited places where you can do that or its difficult to harness cloud energy in smaller form factors which is why stuff like the gondola-things need proper light energy for power diamonds
Aside from preventing the circumstances that allowed it to happen
Thing is we don’t know if the cloud recharge was anything but a skykid only thing or not, if clouds did give light in general then the dark-stone than the bridge where grandma is would’ve been up 24/7 since the platforms are lifted by darkstone
And I feel like ancestors would’ve tried to find a way to harness clouds than mantas if that’s the case
all i can say is this: poor mantas :((((
Yeah… I like to think of the disaster as one of those tragedies that could’ve been solved, but you know everyone involved would always have made the decisions they did and nothing would have changed that
i want to be omniscient and see all possible timelines that sky's universe could've taken
I think clouds recharge skids because the droplets reflect light, charging us up due to the light within
You see it with some more than others, but I think all elders would feel equally guilty about failing to prevent the disaster and the death of all of their people. I can’t imagine they wouldn’t
Does anyone have a good lore compilation or document ?
Can I suggest additions privately
Baud is muted right now, so he can’t say yes/no here, and might dm you. Is that okay?
Bruh what did he do to get muted so long
Gossiping is against the server rules so I can’t elaborate too much, but he doesn’t know either. Dude is just kinda stuck in limbo right now
Lol
I just recently had this thought come to mind!! It's heart breaking, but since the small diamonds are infused with light creatures, I can only imagine a larger diamond would need a larger light source. Especially the more I enjoyed the idea that the remnants of Sky we see are the memories Storm had of the realms when they were roaming about before they became a part of the Eden Diamond.
Storm as in the king?
True but how else eould the citadel still be even functioning? It probably uses an increadible amount of energy to keep it all afloat and it probably has been like that for a long, long time
It confuses me too
There are smaller golden orbs floating when you entire the coliseum like the one in citadel so there’s a chance it didn’t have to all be dark stone for them to float or even needed
Either that or the citadel beneath the clouds could have a backup power of sorts in a way but we don’t know for sure
Could also be the case other sky-kids give light to keep it afloat like with the gondola in dreams, they only seem to run of of power when you move to the next loading zone yet they’re active even when you come from wind-paths so
Well, in the area itself, you may notice that it can recharge your light, I assume that would apply to darkstone as well (depending if it is coming from the clouds or not)
Just like what Tac said, there might be a mechanism underneath that us Skykids don't know about
Right! I completely forgot it does slowly recharge for some reasons that’s probably why it hasn’t fallen apart yet
Yeah! And from what I noticed is that there is this wind that gives Skykids what I call a "free flying privilege"
Windpaths has it too if I recall
ily windpaths and citadel
It's not as composed as Windpaths tbh
it's like, all over the area
There are certain areas where the light might be in such increadible abundance, darkstone is basically constantly charging. But it might be that its not a viable creature light alternative because it doesn't charge fast enough. There might be absolutely ginormous batteries that took an increadibly long time to fill before finally being put to use and the energy drainage is being refilled enough that it can sustain itself.
Wait
I have idea
Solar-paneled darkstone
Oo maybe!
Maybe in areas that auto charged there’s enough light to be like colar panels for it
I could also still squeeze the fact manta light is used too since it would need something into activate said light, like a cataylst (and that’s frankly how I think all darkstone is produced, darkstone itself with light in middle that activates the diamond and keeps it active depending on the ammount

And prairie’s Bird Nest!
Yeah there are like naturally floating masses of land all over the kingdom, this is most visible in Sanctuary
Darkstone doesn't have to be the reason citadel can float
That has never occurred to me, but that is very true
True but I'm not talking about just the buildings/landmass, I'm mainly refering to the giant golden rings
Steve the Repository Manta headcanons bc i am not normal about it:
- Child of some of the other vault mantas
- Has been in the repository since it was built. Was initially brought in to keep up an illusion disguising the entrance and continued to help out around the place
- this included occasionally stepping in as a mobility aid when Wounded Warrior's leg injury would act up
- and generally being an emotional support manta to... everyone from this season honestly. Elders know they need it.
yeah theres definitely something up with the orreries
I love them so much
YESSSS MOBILITY AIDS i like what you're saying
This is a phenomenal idea

Steve is truly an inspiration

Mantas being used as mobility aids and emotional support makes me so happy everytime, ily Steve
i want an emotional support manta,,
Little weighted Plushie. I'm trying to create the sew pattern for one because a manta plushie would be a wonderful snuggle bug after work.

The chat seems somewhat dead at the moment; I’m debating elaborating on this, if everyone is ok with it
i am always ok with salem theories
as am I
thank you both
Your theories are amazing Salemi
I didn’t mean to call you Salemi like Salami I am tired
I gotta head 2 sleep so I'll read in morning.
The theory is something like this; I’m still working on it and I’m not sure yet if it holds water but we will see as it develops I think
The way each elder interacts with the flame we give them (and us, the line blurs a bit) directly symbolizes how they interacted with light in the world before the disaster.
Dawn uses light to guide us, like they might have guided the ancestors arriving in Isle through to the rest of the kingdom. Our flame also heals them; I’m not sure why this bit is important yet, but I will find a way I think.
Day is the one I struggle most with. They are given our light, accept it, put it into a pot, and turn it into a creature. I’m not entirely sure what specifically this implies, but I do know that they are super connected to the stewardship of light creatures, which might play a role.
From here it gets a lot easier to connect.
Rain snatches our flame and puts it in darkstone because that’s what they did with light before the disaster; they are focused entirely on creating and disregard us, where the light came from, in order to push forward. Again, just like before the disaster.
Sunset’s is actually the coolest imo because both of them try to play with your flame, whacking it out of your hands even though you try to protect it. This might mirror how filled their realm is with darkstone gadgets of all kinds; they ‘played’ with the light used for those, disregarding its importance. Interestingly enough, it’s Sah, the twin themed after darkstone, who whacks it out of our hands
Dusk tries to protect us from the darkness and only accepts our flame later in the cutscene, using it to ascend spirits (help others) instead of heal themselves
Night refuses to accept our light at all; instead, they let us take full agency of how to use it, letting us put it in a diamond to project what we remember from venturing in the realms. It’s an almost direct parallel to the repository memory lantern mural.
I’m still debating if I want to include the limbo scene; it takes place when an elder cutscene normally would for that realm, and you could argue from certain angles that it counts as one, so I’m not sure
I still want to know what you would say if it was included
Damn I just arrived
Salem you are amazing at words
The way you can analyze things so neatly and creatively amazes me /gen
Thank you so much
I am super honored
In limbo, the perspective shifts really interestingly because the other character is the light, not us. Meaning that essentially, the lineup would be like:
Dawn: guides the light
Day: creates with the light
Rain: snatches the light
Sunset: plays with the light
Dusk: guards the light
Night: records the light
and then
Eden: is the light
Enchantment group: okay everyone let’s be respectable for the children!
Muralist: I WANNA RIDE THE DRAGON
Enchantment Group: Muralist NO-
Hmmm that makes me think of something but it might be a bit of a stretch
I keep focusing on that part
Eden is the light
It feels like there's something I want to add, but I can't figure it out
I think the Day one could be like, maybe a lot of light creatures are from prairie, so they were the main source for them. i had a specific word in mind but my brain is having a moment
I sure do hate the feeling of understanding something but not being able to verbalize it 💀💀
I FEEL YOU CLEO the Eden one makes me think the same thing too, so I shelved it for a bit in order to focus on the others. It is a really interesting one to me personally (honestly, probably the most, hence why I want to include it so bad)
It's like
I feel like there's a more in depth way it's connected to the others in the lineup
Lemme try I shall not give up
Even years after the downfall of the kingdom, the elder cutscenes still show how they treated The Light back in the days
If we also look at the physical location of Sky too, it pulls on my heart looking at it in this light.
Day is near the bottom of the summit, they've embraced light creatures for what they are and can do. While Valley thrives off what they've become so far high above the clouds
Eden signifies how they treated the light and how they ended up In this situation in the first place ig?? All the elder cutscenes are telling a short story of the kingdoms golden ages to the downfall, which leaves our broken Eden
muralist yes
Perhaps the elder cutscenes might show that history repeats itself? Since they're mimicking the behavior they had with the light long ago
So are we... As Sky kids reliving all this as free spirits to be molded to however we want instead of what others choose us to be?????

Imagine if skykids did repeat history though
We saw in Season of Abyss that even skykids can mess up and cause almost catastrophical damage (I mean if that king krill wasn't defeated with the power of friendship I think we'd have a big problem)
Is it just me or is reliving the season spirits and learning their emotes kinda feel wrong? Like... we're learning from their darkest moments... their family just died ..
It's not wrong wrong, it just feels wrong
The emotes bit is just how the game works; it’s not any worse than our skykid imitating fainting warrior dying. As for the spirit memories themselves, it feels uncomfortable in a good way, like it’s something we needed to see
I see what you mean actually 💔 it does feel kinda wrong but then again, it's part of game mechanics /lh
I remember people joking about skykids copying the fainting warrior, it's a bit of a funny concept but sometimes sad
OH THATS A GOOD IDEA I DIDNT EVEN THINK OF THAT, like specifically, each elder cutscene is symbolism for a point in time? IE dawns symbolizes guidance cause that’s what they did at the civilizations start, nights symbolizes recording in memory lanterns cause that’s what they did near/at the disaster?
I think the most beautiful aspect is how we all have these really intricate feelings for how we view the game.
like this!
To me, they're homages. The last piece of that spirit and as a witness, I get to be a part of that moment. If it's the last for that spirit, then I get to know they aren't alone anymore.
Preserving memories in the memory lanterns to show to future generations as a final goodbye/warning
"Hey if someone is still out there and finds this, well DON'T do what we did lol"
This is a good point! Sky has to be one of the few games that has made me feel like this
I agree with that. Sky really brings out this deep feelings. It covers so many topics in such a delicate, but realistic way.
Awh man imagine the spirits knew that their world was gonna end
im p sure some spirits knew
Oh definetely, it's just sad to think of on a large scale
I REALLY LIKE THIS PERSPECTIVE ON IT, it put my thoughts into words really well… thinking of the days of fortune “this spirit greatly appreciates your visit” text
btw does anyone kno if the exerpt of that fanfic ab the spirits in the repository is published online/have a link to it?
OH. YES AND CLEOBUGG
This can tie in so hard with Forest and that as Forest creates the gems, the stars flicker out behind them!!! So Forest can be showing us when it time it was. Which would make sense for us to continuing progressing civilization!! THIS IS SO COOL.
THE STARS FLICKER OUT BEHIND THEM I DIDNT EVEN NOTICE THAT. WHAT
GASP
Y E S PLEASE GO WATCH. it's near the end and it's a very small detail
Awww yeah this!
the one alasdair wrote specifically
WHAT
EVERY DAY WE LEARN MORE
BRB zooming towards forest temple asap
well if they appreciate my visit i'm omw to give all of my performance blorbos hugs
It’s a snippet from a fic he’s still working on, not published yet
who was the person who suggested Eden elders mask represented skykids because I'm thinking about that rn
So folks started whoosing
not to steal credit i but i think that might've been me who said "if the light creature of eden is skykids, then does that mean eden elder cosmetics are just moth cosmetics?"
maybe, but i more remember it explicitly mentioning the concept eden elder's funky mask shape
I said that for the hair, but not the mask. I remember saying the mask was a falling star shape mimicking how they fell from the sky, but not much else
I DID THE CUTSCENE and I don’t think the stars entirely disappear at the end but they definitely flicker and go dim in some places, which is still incredibly interesting. Trimming a video rn
they have hair?
I just finished the cutscene, didn't really see any flickering stars except for in the beginning
It's a slow slow fade of stars going out as the camera cuts from the elder towards the sky.
going silly whats that quote from the last tlp quest thats like "all the stars will be your friends"
As I was trimming I noticed the stars fading in in the beginning as well which is also neat
I can see a few of them flickering and fading but not sure if it’s just perspective or nah
Maybe those aren't stars then. Maybe it's like the glowy magic around memories and such. Like in Vault.
I know after this, the big diamond above Forest's meditation platform does have a little cloud of starry like substance.
So yknow how when you die in eden, you go see that little light child and people are theorizing its The King?
What if these places the elders are in are like their personal prisons, stuck there until skykids eventually come and light up their shrines again
And the king is the one you could not save
I'll go through Eden just to hug them.
This is late but it was kinda theorized in reverse actually, we were doing the elder hair theory thing and we got to Storm and were thinking if they fit, and their connection was to skykids because of both obvious and more complicated reasons, and skykid hair could really only be moth hair
This happened immediately after the hair realization we were describing above and I keep thinking about it ajdjaoalwkejf
Here's my brief take on the theory:
Maybe since we ascended or has gained enough light, our Skykids are able to attune themselves to the elder's light, which in turn would give the ability to morph/style their hair similar to an elder's hairstyle if they were to choose whether or not to have a hairstyle similar to an elder
My wording is a bit wonky but I hope you get the gist of it
I have a theory that they’re stuck inside the diamond (sort of like the shattering memories) and have been since the events shown in shattering q6, and I’m not sure but for some reason that makes it even sadder
especially with the is the light -> light charges darkstone connection
Not to mention the isolation of the light child in that diamond
Light creatures in general are very social creatures, and to be isolated from all of that is... a terrifying perspective to think about (at least for me)
Oh god
Even the child of light couldn't escape the fate of a moving world
Wait wait wait
Adding onto the king stuck inside the diamond thing, what if because they're stuck, they're the only thing powering it and that's why it continues to rage on?
What do y’all think of the two kids hugging each other at the top of the eden diamond in the shattering memory
Alternatively, their power is running out hence why it’s going haywire absorbing ligjt from outside too
cant believe i dont know what sls’s backstory is. were they worshipped or are these fellow scholars?
They might have been a teacher!
Still thinking about it, honestly. It’s probably a reference to limbo and the events ther in some capacity (well, duh, right?) but I’m not sure what specifically it’s implying.
I have this thing in my head but I can't explain it properly so bear with me
Since you say that sls is a teacher (which I really like the idea
), I could picture them guiding/advising/tutoring new scholars about whatever topic it would be about
And why it could be important for skykids to continuing making the journey... Because without light, darkness will consume entirely 😢😢
Gasp
YEAH I can see this too! They’re a light scholar, so I’d assume they’d teach something relating to that topic, it’s really sweet
So wait, then it'd always be a constant battle/repetition
Skykids won't ever be able to stop the corruption, cause the light cannot exist without the dark
Some suggest that the fall of the kingdom was the inbalance between light and darkness
Since from I could observe, darkness was greater than the light (before the arrival of Skykids), which would mean to me that the reason why there are so many Skykids that were sent down.. was an effort to balance the light and darkness (in other words, the light would have to make a greater effort to try and be equal to darkness)
How come the giant dark dragon is still in the abyss?
The Abyss is it's territory
I thought it was a the corrupted manta that was freed
We freed a spirit manta from the leviathan
and a whole lot of fish it probably ate too
That might effect the trout population/ref
