Sorry to tell you this but they’d probably be closed off and full of corpses too by this point
But at that point wouldn’t the Wind Paths be closed and dark?
Nowhere is safe
See there is a saying that when nowhere is safe the most dangerous place is the safest so I’d stay in wasteland (I just made that saying up)

If you want, you could reverse it. As everyone in Vault is dying, someone tries to tunnel out because the only entrance can only be opened by the outside. They break through and hear only silence, in all direction, endlessly. They head towards the opening of the Wasteland temple, hoping they’d find someone there — of course they’d gather to pray to their elder for help and find shelter — but their foot hits something half buried in the sand, and they stop.
It’s an arm.
SALEM
Danganronpa
if anybody hurt vault scholars i would turn into birdman (batman but im a bird)
either way would the tunnel leak purple light into the surrounding desert and make the starlight desert
it could, it would make the most sense (to me) for how the area got like that
Unabashed relevant fic posting.
Worth noting that this is SLS and they’re already dead.
Are lights artificial? It could also be that starlight is just a natural hotspot for it if not
alasdair ily
Alasdair I see your eye react, oh no, did I cause something
trying to process the 200+ message that i just read
salem i think you made us switch timelines in the alasdverse
In my opinion, they're natural.
Alasdverse???
Red and purple light might be artificial, though I believe they’re natural as much as all the other. Red light is found “where darkness prevails” and purple light is associated with magic or the mind
I'm not saying they're artificial I'm just saying the aura could've diffused into the starlight desert
The heart reaction is worrying thanks
not related, like, at all, but i saw that, one of the dudes in the forogten arc, ( the one of
) tried to use blue light on polluted water but it didnt worked. does it has something to do with the lore?
dink my oiter
Given when we give Indifferent Alchemist blue light they use it to purify the water moat, perhaps that’s what they were trying to do before. Just didn’t work that time
yes, blue light is the light that controls & possibly purifies water, as you can see in the prophecy murals! however when indifferent alchemist tried to use it on dark water to purify it it didn’t work, for whatever reason. possibly since they didn’t have enough or that specific water was too polluted to save
for all we know they could've just been skill issued
Idk you seem to be fine with hurting Degonime quite a bit
Yeah, and one of the “dudes” actually got to purify it in the season of enchantment
YeY fOr OnCe OnE oF My ThEoRyS iTs CoRrEcT
degonime is the exception that confirms the rule
Alasdair’s ficverse ^^
I’m writing a fic about SLS in post-apoc Vault, the start of the end
just tryin to keep the chat alive

Chat's alive rn tho ?

Also PSA lore chat has a cooldown for that purpose, it is meant to be slower and less hectic than other more populated chats like genchat.
Also Indifferent Alchemist implied Alchemy is a thing and I want more seasons on it
most of us are active around the same times too, which means there'll be dead zones when everyone is asleep
we got the valley elders with the prosthesis arms too
Seriously took me all of my will not to make a Nina joke

I want to watch the enchantment spirits mix potions
Sometimes I imagine the enchantment guide pondering the orb colored lights like this because we don't ever see them using a colored light in-game and you could infer they don't have light magic powers
I just think it'd be funny to make the guide specifically not have any powers
😮 (lol the image XDDD)
was comparing the grassy isle from the animation teaser and the concert recording
wow!
thank u skybot bestie
I have a deep feeling that they don't have any powers of some sort but, they do make up for it in other regards and assets
wondering where the tree would be in relation to today's isle
probably somewhere near the cave from season of enchantment?
animation teaser????
I like to think they're like the most responsible/dependable of the group, and the only one capable of leading the crew
Most definitely, exquisite leadership skills
there's some kind of animation project being worked on by TGC that was announced at AnimeJapan earlier in the year
Not sure if the teaser material is canon, but it fits into what we've seen in season of aurora
I think that tree might've just been in a nearby island with a view towards Dawn that got eroded, or maybe on top of the cave at the beginning of Isle, the one where the Lost Memory is
ooh what if the cave is where the tree's roots used to be -- when the tree died, it hollowed out
another look at what I believe to be the same area of isle from the nintendo launch trailer
I’m glad you brought that up Skrili because there’s a really interesting detail I wanted to discuss, and it has to deal with how different Nintendo launch green Isle and animation teaser green Isle look
yeah also I noticed that nintendo seems to display the rock cliff that has the mural on it, but lacks the caves where that one isle spirit is -- yet the animation trailer seems to have a hill with a canopy by it (near a post)-- suggesting the presence of a hollowed out area
I'm thinking maybe those two shots of isle were from different points in time -- it seems like the nintendo one had much more vegetation, but much more rudimentary structures (just canopies) and might be taken from earlier on in their civilization, where the animation one has some huts, and it seems like some of the trees have been cut down. In aurora's memory, we see the sand in the earlier part of isle, and it starts drifting up into the grassy area -- there are no more trees, and all the people have left. The stairs have grass growing on them, indicating that they have not been used for a while. And then we have current isle which is barren and a lot more of the rock structures have eroded away and become buried in the sand.
The animation teaser material so far seems to be canon. Off the top of my head, I can’t think of anything in it that would conflict with what we know so far.
The Nintendo trailer, in my opinion, not so much. I think it was more a showoff of what they could do with the world if they weren’t being constrained by game limitations, hence why they went absolutely wild with all the rock formations in Isle you see above that aren’t present in game or in the animation teaser. It’s probably also why the Nintendo trailer shows off a bunch of different locations that couldn’t feasibly be along the same route they were traveling and still enter from that spot in Isle; they were just going wild with showing off as much stuff as they could without worrying about how it would make sense from a canon perspective.
The animation teaser, on the other hand, takes a lot more care to align with how Isle looks in the game. The cliffs are the exact same; Candlemaker’s cave and the hill behind it are visible behind a tent if you look close enough. It seems that for the animation teaser they thought it would make more of an impact if players could immediately recognize and point out different areas within the world they were being shown, and also that they cared about it making sense, because they’re telling a coherent and thought out story this time. I think it’s a really interesting difference
yeah i completely agree! also, it's so sad to just see how much life was in isle at that point in time -- very reminiscent of prairie and the canopies and shops in ark
YEAH 💔 I really love Isle, it’s one of my favorite realms, so seeing how green and lively it used to be & being able to pick out the landmarks I know hits me hard. I’m glad they made the decision to make it resemble the Isle we see in game more.
Also I noticed that it seems like over time, the clouds rise and cover the land -- might mean that under spots where we see cloud-cover, there might be land far below
I think so too! Thinking of the moment when we fly from the valley temple to the wasteland social space and you see a bunch of buildings and spires poking through the clouds
for example, the floating islands really remind me of those from prairie (bird nest)
and in aurora there's so much land and actual water before we get to the area in the valley song during the concert that is not normally visible
They remind me of Bird’s Nest too. I remember trying to figure out where each location was and having to think a while for that one because I almost didn’t recognize it with the visible land and river delta beneath. It’s like it’s a totally different place.
There are also some place names, like prairie villages for example, that only make sense if you imagine more structures beneath the clouds and that we’re only scraping the surface of what’s visible
yessss also the caves area from aurora has water underneath it -- I spent pretty much the entire past concert trying to go OOB in different areas to compare them with the current areas
screenshot I took before aurora took me away
I was transfixed by how different all the landscapes were to what we see in game; I took so many screenshots of the architecture in the warrior of love section
yesss omg I managed to fly into one of the structures there (causing my character to start shaking and spinning oops) and it was different -- again because the clouds were so much lower and it exposed a lot
also spotted this structure during one of the songs (I forgot which) and idk if it's intentional or just an OOB thing
So I've been going through the Prophecy cave and relooking at murals. Was anything ever discussed that the bodies in the challenges on the mural we see represent each of the students the ancestors are teaching when you relive their memory?
It got me thinking about how the ancestors might be trapped. Perhaps due to a strong emotion in which they can't let go, so they're trapped.
I also got to thinking, that to me the Sky Kid represents the path of becoming a Bodhisattva in Mahayana Buddhism.
Very good thoughts

I don’t think those ancestors are dead or trapped; I actually have headcanons that some of them grew up to be spirits we meet. I think them being sideways is just an easy signifier that they didn’t succeed at the trial.
Trials seem to be a more ethereal space similar to elder dimensions; they look similar and we meditate to activate both. We also don’t die or leave when we ‘respawn’ in trials, only when we leave on purpose. If this is true, failing at a trial would either just mean giving up for the ancestor in question, hence showing that they can’t fulfill the trait each trial requires. For example, tapping out in the middle of trial of fire wouldn’t demonstrate courage. When they failed, they’d probably just wake up and exit the meditation
Hmmmnm. I see, I see. Thank you for your thoughts!!

(I totally forgot we can't die in the trial
THANK YOU. lol. Been a bit since I've done them)
I think that since Skykids can teleport anyways, they teleport themselves to essentially cheat the Trials. The Ancestors probably only had one chance to do it.
@keen shore Your analogy with the fire trial makes sense only with that specific trial. In the water trial, for example, the people who failed would be the ones who rushed in without patience.
How severe the punishment was for failing the trial depends on your own interpretation of the Sky kingdom as a whole. They could’ve died, gotten injured, or exited the trial.
I was watching the Aurora's concert... again, and was thinking that maybe the two sides fighting were like Peta agains the Gobern (lol)
Like they were some spirits getting a really close contac with the light creatures and start to think in all the damage they were doing to the creatures and the land itself, there's also some spirit we encounter in some areas that are working in what looks like deplorable condition and also the many spirits leaving some realms bc the change of the landscape (or who know why)so... Maybe a lot of them start to allign with those ideas, started gathering to talk about it, wanting a change, but ofc they always would be like the minority, the ones bellow and just talking couldn't change that easily the status quo of the whole... Empire/Kingdom (what the heck is sky?) and them boom... war
I don’t think skykids teleport themselves to cheat the trials; you can see when we ‘die’ thst our flame and light go out completely before we reappear at the checkpoint. Yes, skykids can be reborn normally, but when we die normally we have to, at the very least, go through the pity room and collect a WL first before we can be reborn. We don’t have to do that in the Trials. if death works much differently in the trials for us, it stands to reason the same thing would be true for ancestors.
As for the other trials:
- Giving up on trial of water would mean rushing in without patience, repeatedly messing up, and then quitting out of frustration.
- Giving up on trial of earth would mean quitting out of frustration or exhaustion due to not being tenacious enough to try every option and reach the exit.
- Trial of air is harder because balance isn’t really a personality trait, more like a physical trait. However, trial of air provides lots of environmental hazards only negated by staying perfectly balanced and focused while heading through them all, hence why repeatedly ‘dying’ and then quitting would show you failed at staying balanced enough to complete it.
This could just be me, but I also don’t see the prophets as being willing to send their own students to die into the trials at all tbh
The world of Sky basically suffered a social revolution, destroy the rich and free the birs
and then everyone died
It’s sort of like an adrenaline reaction: when you run out of light, you teleport yourself to the nearest shrine. Similar to how humans act differently in extremely dangerous situations.
Then why don’t/can’t skykids do that when they run out of light normally?
Can’t you teleport to someone while you’re out of light? There’s also things like home warp
i think the important difference is that one of these things is voluntaary and the other is not
It’s very slightly a gameplay thing.
If you’re out of light in the regular Sky world, there’s multiple options:
Home warp
Get lighted by a friend
Multiple natural sources of light
If you’ve fallen in the earth and air trials, it’s basically an infinite void. So it saves the pain of you having to work and does it by itself.
No I mean, why don’t skykids automatically teleport to safe locations when they run out of light too? Why wouldn’t they just save us the pain, all the time?
Imo it makes much more sense to me that this is just a function of the trials & true for ancestors also
I think the trials aren't about do this first try or you're dead forever but instead about repeated attempts until you understand the value they are trying to teach
Yeah, same! I think it would fit with their themes a lot better & I don’t see the point of them killing you instwntly
The prophets were in a silly goofy mood
also because one of their students (might be) candlemaker and they're too blorbulous for me to let them die like that
You are so right.
they finally releasing the rest of the poems lol
the concert was a bit of an all hands on deck thing I'd reckon
This is a really great point. Totally understand the value of it.
Just look at the spirits for the new season:
Mindful Miner
Running Wayfarer
Warrior of Love
Seed of Hope
These demonstrate really substantial values as we continue to learn and grow
we see those values played out through different lenses.
The trials(much like their corresponding orbs) taught us values that can be seen as core values just as are the elements of life. Without those, it's difficult to succeed.

Alright, so
I went to visit the area in Vault before you entered Eden, and obviously noticed that there seemed to be no sign of an entrance, only an exit (which leads to Eden, or to homespace)
Where/what I think is the entrance to this area is somewhat like the entrance to the Forgotten Archives, which would lead me to the conclusion that the area in question is still in summit, it is the highest point and can acsess Eden (somewhat near the top)
As for where the entrance of the area might be, I would like to think that this tiny hill (with memory cubes sticking out of it) is the entrance, but blocked off
The reason why I think this is the entrance is due to the fact that it is the only if not the biggest hill of something, it is seen through the memory cubes that something can be hidden underneath (though some might think that under this are more memory cubes), and looking at the smaller ones like this, it is nearly impossible to hide something under those (and as stated before, I believe that the entrance to this place is similar to the entrance of the Forgotten Archives)
Then again, this is all speculation and most likely considered a headcanon, and I might be wrong in some levels
Best part about this chat... You can be as right as you believe to be

Thank you for sharing your images and theory!!

Another Vault speculation:
The Architecture of the Vault (WITHOUT the Purple light's influence) is somewhat similar to the architecture of the Winchester Mystery House (in which for those who don't know; is a house which basically is very confusing, from stairs that lead to a ceiling and doors leading to a wall)
I feel like this would be the architectural design of the Vault because.. It's a Vault, it is meant to keep things protected, and intruders who break into Vault would not be able to navigate the tower easily, with them opening a door and bumping into a wall or stairs that don't have a floor after going up/down them to confuse the intruders and spare time for the scholars to catch them snooping around
But every good thing has to have a con to it
If scholars were to "die" in Vault, it would be quite the challenge to find their body and properly bury them, and the area that the praying spirit is found is most likely a place where bodies who died in the Vault is buried there, easy to acsess for everyone
That's a really neat concept! Especially for those who aren't sky kids. I feel like we have a natural ability to ascend, while anyone else might have a really difficult time navigating it.
I can provide images of the weird features of the Winchester Mystery House if you want a clear concept of what I am saying
I would love that just for reference!
please
(I am headed to bed so feel free to ping me so I can reread in the morning!!)
@halcyon abyss (spoilered just in case people who are lurking may have eerie vibes off of this)
here are the examples of what I think the Vault's Architecture without the purple light's influence would look like
(also btw that door in the 2nd pic is an actual working door fyi)
maybe this could be tied to the next season, since it’s based in the vault
Please don't mention anything in the beta that hasn't gotten into the live game, if you wish to discuss about this, please head on over to the beta channels (according to the rules)
oh sorry, just speculation anyway i don’t know anything about the beta
Its all alright, dw
Headcanon that there would be semi-elders/demi-elders
Basically what semi-elders means, they are above normal ancestors, mantas, birds, etc. but yet below elder ancestors, mantas, birds, etc
Wouldn’t that exit also serve as the entrance?
Which exit in particular? The Eden entrance or the entrance that would lead to the area?
The doorway opening to Eden
The huge doors that open from GW temple seal off into a non-returnable wall in Vault
This bad boyo
Hmm, it really depends on the perspective
If you had the perspective of Eden, then yes, it is an entrance to Eden, but if you had the perspective of Vault, it would be an exit of Vault
We may not be able to turn around cos gameplay but ancestors should’ve been able to.
Though that raises the question of has the portal to Home always existed in Vault; who built it and when? Or how?
¯_(ツ)_/¯
I would see it as a gameplay mechanic, there really isn't much to go on about this
This is just an accurate depiction of Valley's citadel
They do, you can just teleport to home while you're crawling IIRC. Now obviously, the Prophecy murals are quite vague at telling us the true nature of the trials, but keeping in mind the Sky kingdom's themes as a whole (which we'll get more of in the animation), I think Skykids teleporting to safety is either a game mechanic or something the Skykids can do.
Home exists in Sky canonically, so I think it was built around the same time the other portals were made. Possibly by the Ancestors?
I discovered in Shattering that you cannot teleport home while mashed into microwave popcorn by red shards
wait, you can't? Can you not teleport in Eden, or all the realms?
The small island that Home exists in may be canon, but home itself is just a glorified social space, and the canonicity of social spaces is already debatable
Checked in-game to see what you mean, and found a flight of stairs that lead down to nothing
Home exists:
The portal in Vault
The multiple portals in social spaces (which are quite canon)
The map shrines showing Home
A depiction of Home in the Isle of Dawn
Seasonal Guides not only being in home, but using the home portals
Sometimes I see Homespace as something that represents Skykids, where you could connect with each other and embark on journeys throughout the realms
Eh I could see that, but Ancestors can still use it
Citadel is pretty Escheresque in general, with random floaty things in midair and pavilions with no obvious access (still theorizing it was manta stableyard for ancestors’ air race)
There's a depiction of home in Isle? Where??
everything except the 4th is purely for ease of gameplay and also. where is that depiction
https://sky-children-of-the-light.fandom.com/wiki/Murals?file=Mural-isle-temple-door-above.png
(search "above temple door"
Though, I think those designs were intentional, which would serve as a manta rider's stable/training grounds
But then again, some structures in the area seems to be broken off
the picture is a bit too glowy for me to fully understand what's going on I'll have to look at that when I can
Air trial as manta steeplechase
Doesn't look that much like home tbh
In home there's 6 regular portals with unique shapes and sizes, while that mural shows only 4 portals and 4 pillars(?)(possibly statues of some sort)
That same illustration is above the door in Eden when you enter the second area after the single winged light in the temple
How interesting; it may not be a perfect representation of Home, but it resembles Home far more than anything else in Sky
I didn't notice it existed in Eden's door as well, but when I saw it I instantly got PNR vibes, idk it just reminded me of the architecture there
And also because Storm elder seems to be there
Hmm.. well, we do see these arch-like things in Windpaths for birds to fly through (and not go to another realm)
Also notice the 4 weird pillar-like structures surrounding the king-like figure, those aren't in home
In very early versions of Sky, didn't home have those sort of pillars?
I don't remember so. Maybe you mean the older hub areas that predate home?
I'm not the right person to ask about old sky
Like... Light Awaits Homespace?
OH WAIT, IS IT THE AVIARY?!
What ab the tp to your friends or tp home? 🤔 how that fits into cannon
I think it was called Aviary yes, it was an area that was actually connected to all the realms and had an actually interesting layout compared to home
Now we have the Wind Paths in its place, but it's not the same... 😔
There were 2 places, the Aviary and the Home
Two portals each side... eden is in the center... but no pillars?
The mural/carving was in Light Awaits, it bares a stronger resemblance to Aviary
I think it might be a remnant of a concept that didn't make it to live. I think there was a comment from a dev where they stated that back during lightseekers they were still figuring the lore of masks in Sky; so it's very possible that a lot of stuff changed during the early development of the live version and now there's a lot of stuff in the base game that TGC just never updated (for example: Rain's animal mask in their temple entrance)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FkLVZtM10mA
This version of the Aviary is even more similar to the mural counterpart, with the portals and the home shrine.
While the versions of Aviary were eventually updated and reconfigured into Home, the mural never changed.
Hey, at least it doesn't turn your phone into as hot a fireball
It does, in my phone's case at least
I said "as hot", your phone would be utterly incinerated under Aviary
I mean, we now have Eden's PNR, where dozens of shards are constantly falling down, or Village of Dreams where there's a whole village within our range of vision
Aviary can't possibly be worse than that
clouds are a crazy thing
Flying race and Wind Paths
I actually don't know the exact reason for why Aviary was so hot, but I think its simply the fact that there was too much clouds
I mean, the entire game's visuals got a slight downgrade at some point, maybe the change to Home was made for performance back then, but in the current version of the game it'd be possible to make a version of it that doesn't eviscerate all phones (basically what they already did with the wind paths, except Aviary would probably actually be less demanding)
"In a livestream in April 2019, thatgamecompany cited several reasons for why they opted for the design choices that led to the updated Home Space in the current game, that resulted in the Aviary being removed.
Getting the player started more quickly
The portals were moved closer to the player's spawn location on launch, in order to help the player get started more quickly
Friend shrines from old Home was integrated as shrines in the water (then as constellation table later on), to help the player get started in the game more quickly and begin straight into the multiplayer game world, rather than begin in a separate private Home space
Possible performance issues, but this is reported by players and not by TGC"
Wait, the entire game's visuals got a downgrade?? You know Cool Ranch Eden existed
Cool ranch what
blueden
Also, you don't even have to look at windpaths to debunk the performance issues problem, you can also look at Starlight Desert. It's absolutely massive and also full of clouds everywhere, and it doesn't instantly set my phone on fire
There definitely were some changes under the hood that made the game run better in general
Blue Eden, hence why the LA Eden OOB is blue
Oh, that
Remember when you stared at Eden too long in the Starlight Desert and your phone collapsed?
Nope. And I have a very less-than-good phone
Phone technology has impressed significantly since LA — hence why devs were able to integrate Shattering mechanisms now then during LA testing — but there’s still a bunch of hitches and crap to deal with. I still crash when I am led into the Wind Paths and I have an iPhone 12
This was in an earlier version of SOTLP, and my not-so-bad phone absolutely collapsed when looking at that part
Apple
Huh that's weird. I have yet to experience a performance-related crash. Only crash I ever got so far was during the concert rehearsal, during the beginning of the Seed song. And the game was actually running well when it happened
But my point still stands, the devs are constantly getting better at optimizing massive maps and something like a new version of Aviary shouldn't be so demanding compared to some of the areas currently in-game
also, where would you put Aviary? Game Design-wise it seems odd to have the home area be in the middle of the game, instead of the very start
Doesn't necessarily have to be in the middle, the later realms could be farther away, or you could still have portals like current home except you can still see parts of the realms in the distance
But that's just me trying to think how to stay true to the original Aviary, tbh I believe a lot of things in Sky could be handled differently
Anyways it's getting late here, see y'all tomorrow
There should be a sky-design-discussion channel fr, bye
Performance crashes are odd. Some are replicable across multiple devices of varying types thus easier to fix while others seem unique to single users. I have a friend who gets a black version of the metallic glitch that I have not seen anywhere else
does anyone read the pins, or is it just me?
...And when I come back, I just see Skybot... replying 3 hours later
AURORA is some sort of entity, she has to be
like she exercised powers of gods and it was beautiful
White woman
wah, Hermit Valley has 2 Eden mountain?
Lorechat I think I may have found what the big figure in the bg is fighting against
its really blurry and I apologize for that
Original image:
It may as well be a visual bug, it was added during Shattering iirc, to signify the explosion and raining of shards from the Eden mountain
Vault, I love you but what in Daleth's great beard is this
All jokes aside, I wonder what is being implied here?
Are those grave stones?
Some of the earlier concepts for the game involved the light creatures waging a war against ancestors
Yes, I do see that, but a certain diamond head figure seems to be leading the war
*slams door
hello
the smell of dead chat certainly is familiar
anddd, WELCOME BACK TO CHAT GOT KRILLED. I’M YA HOST AND TODAY’S RECORD AFTER A LONG-LONG BREAK IS: 1 HOUR AND SOMETHING MINS IDK I HATE MATH
Skybrah's fun fact of the day: 8 hours of sneep snorp a day keeps Dark Dragons away
wow, CGK took like what? 9 months? of break
i see the concept arts are still living strong here
yep, so, any new theories with the Aurora season?
so, how are we feeling about the WLs being fragments of King/Prince being (likely) canon
what's your evidence for it being probably canon
Aurora concert, where a kid was at the exact same position of the Wl in Isle. ofc, most likely (or at least implied, idk) canon (so take this with a pinch of salt, just a theorysjjdksnsdn)
that is a good point, however there's approximately zero evidence that that child is or will be the king in story.
however, as of the most recent intro update, winged lights are called Lost Memories, which may instead imply that they're memories that previous (skykids? ancestors?) experienced
ah, true
why is Sky’s lore so vague
All up to interpretion✨
anyways, is there uh docs? like, new docs about theories or canon
Ok I’m going to spread the propaganda
We can call a group of sky kids constellation
Because you know, we are stars or something
I mean, ykw the friend list. we are represented as constellations
Yeah, based on live though I doubt this detail has any relevance in the story version today. It’s fine if you’re just figuring out concept art, but sometimes people make the mistake of assuming it’s all canon which is incorrect
I know some people like to do Sky AUs based off concept art so they study it a lot, and that’s cool if that’s why you’re picking it apart! I just wanted to specify that
and a lot of theories are based on concept art (since all we get are lore crumbs
)
I just got a thought
What if the war happened after the birth of eden?
I mean the seed show rocks falling from the sky while the war happened
Ooooo, interesting
I’ve actually seen more theories here based around live recently than concept art! Which is a relief, I think the live ones have a lot more substance and originality behind them
who decorated dreams for feast if all the people are dead..
Also I think the golden used to be part of the vault of knowledge which means the war happened at the doors of the vault of knowledge
A little theory is that when eden was born it killed the elders and people wanted answers on what happened or where the elders are. And the war was people wanting to get into the vault for answers
Spirits can interact with the world and decorate things! See, sapling quests, also how the sunny forest was implied to be redecorated by the scouts during days of sunlight. Plus it’s really cute to imagine
that does make sense! thanks.
The things falling from the sky might be cyan light orbs, which control the element of wind (and could have caused things like the cyclone in wasteland) & are also associated with valley, as you can see the elders from that realm received that power in prophecy murals!
I just can’t help imagining the Assembly Scouts asking Grandma’s opinions on the decorations and Grandma being thrilled because she’s got a lot more kids to guide and love
This is so cool!!! Thank you for the references. It does have an eerieness to it, but how COOL
The realm doors could just be entirely for skykids. Something only we see?
The switch would lag HORRENDOUSLY 😭
I think about this a lot too! It makes sense to me. I also considered that the Eden Elder is trapped as the sky kid you hug after Eden to regain your light. Leading to the idea that to divide up the Eden's power after the explosion, WL's exploded into existence. (These are just thoughts I've had!!)
Another thoughts is WL's representing a monumental moment for an emotional memory. Like a child celebrating or cheering by making it somewhere.
oh same! I also think the eden elder split up into WLs after the explosion
Maybe the winged light you see hidden in little cubbyholes were from a child who was playing hide and seek around the realms and cheered when they weren’t found before the game ended
Does anyone knows what creature the bones in wasteland belongs to? Because those bones are the single biggest creature in sky so far, even the king krill doesn't have chest cavities that large
there’s a couple of theories that it belongs to this creature

or a whurtle (from concept art) or other sky creatures
It's definitely not a whale because those ribs would definitely encage one, it's just that big
IT'S BEEN 10 MONTHS
I don't see any problems
The entire studio has been powderized.
Also, the lease to the studio ran out 9 months ago, which is probably more important
there was a studio?
no, it’s kind of a joke thing. chat got krilled so we do CGK to (hopefully) revive the chat
and the format is like a game show
I think I remember seeing that once on a pop-in
Somehuman & Strega, do you two know each other by any chance?
lore peeps I managed to divert my bird from the main course of the aurora concert and look who's standing in the temple doorwayyyyyy
also this doesn't look like a "memory spirit," i.e. glowing blue -- it seems to be the actual elder
Yuh it's the Elder
Yea that’s Dawn Elder
I do still think they're within the memory bubbles of runaway tho
This might provide reasoning that even after the people of isle left, the elder remained (no more tents/trees which are seen in the animation trailer) which is honestly so sad
the elders guided people to ascend before the darkness fell
i assume…. they remain to make sure the rest of them ascend too
the concert is just showing us what happened to the old sky lolol
yes, however the Elders are still here. sure, not physically present in the world like shown in the concert, but still here to some extent which allows them to ascend the spirits skykids bring them
Hey lore chat a friend of mine asked a question and.
Golden wasteland is the one world greatly affected by darkness, and the place besides eden where krills are. And they asked why golden out of the rest of the worlds is the most affected
I theorize it might be because it is the closest to eden and that the war could had an effect of the spread of darkness and the birth of krills but I wonder if you guys have their own theories about it
vault is objectively closer to eden for what its worth
Yeah
I have my mini theory that golden wasteland may had been part of the vault of knowledge (like the outside of it) but due to the war it became the golden wasteland
given all the factories, refineries, pipelines, and oceans of dark water, it seems Wasteland was the industrial hub of the kingdom, where most power diamonds and darkstone technology was manufactured. this means they bore the brunt of all the pollution that industry created. the pipes could be disposing waste, which polluted the water. since power diamonds required light creatures to make, most if not all the light creatures in Wasteland would've been killed off or corrupted
Hidden Forest also has a similar deal but to a lesser extent; the temple is a refinery, and it seems to be one of, if not the, major darkstone/light mining realm. It would make sense if pollution caused by removing light from the ecosystem is the reason behind its darkness rain.
Basically, for the three realms most affected by darkness, the reasons why can be traced back to darkstone
When there's a lore topic and you don't have anything to contribute:
not sure what the point of that message is if you don't have anything to contribute to chat /lh
Pandemonium, the capital city of Hell in Paradise Lost. The art reminds me of Golden Wasteland. Paradise Lost is about the fall of mankind and expulsion from Eden. I think. It’s difficult to read.
Something like that I think it originally comes from a word meaning fruitful land
Yes eden means paradise, because eden was paradise before... Well, the falling
was it?
In Christian myths, the Garden of Eden was the first paradise God made on Earth, where Adam & Eve were created and supposed to look over. When they disobeyed God by eating the forbidden fruit™️, God exiled them from Eden.
thats true im just saying im not sure that applies to the world of sky
Yeah, it doesn't seem like the ancestors were created on Eden or even that Eden used to be some sort of paradise. But as with all of the lore, it's a little too ambiguous to tell
Hey lore chat, I remember there being a lore doc, anyone have it?
Thank you! <3
Hello I’m reappearing here after a few weeks to announce that a BEAR just showed up on my porch, how are you guys?
bearhug hermit gave you a visit!
i didnt think they were the type to visit people thats very sweet of them
@velvet berry I have removed your message as it contains hacked content. Please do not share hacked content from beta or live.
Seconding Harbin here, please don't consider anything besides the official concert shown as lore tidbits-especially not hacked content. The actual concert shown is the one with the most thought and care given to its "lore".
Hacked things showing incomplete versions with placeholder models naturally don't have that same care and thought given to lore as the final product does.
I just beat the game and omg that was depressing
I JUST NOTICED
Back to one wing lmao. That was really fun but god 😭😭😭
Hey, just a little note that you shouldn't ping Alasdair in replies, it's in the nickname
Oh sorry!
Hey did anyone else notice how in the last part of the “warrior of love” segment in the aurora concert, as the mantas are flying away you can briefly see and hear a whale honking and following the mantas. Does this mean whales are manta predators, or is the whale maybe just a part of the flock?
you can find whales many places where mantas also are… judging from the fact that they are counted as neutral and also the fact that we see them near mantas so often… i would guess that they are simply very similar creatures in smaller numbers
I'm sorry for the late reply, and I'm not sure if anybody answered yet.
Eden doesn't come from Latin, it's in both Christian and Jewish Bibble, it comes from the Old Testament, meaning it's an Hebrew name.
But yes, it was the Paradise On Earth, but once Adam and Eve were casted away from these lands after Original Sin

Apologies for the text wall
OK so I'm trying to get down my personal interpretation of the lore and I'm constantly getting stuck on the Megabird.
Like, in my opinion, the Megabird is the god of the world that Sky is on. It created the creatures, the ancestors and possibly the Elders and the King too (I'm kind of on the fence about that tho)
But because of this I'm wondering, why create something if it was going to like turn away from you.
I'm assuming that the relationship between the Megabird and its creations were good for the most part until the discovery of darkstone, then the ancestors, elders and the king were like corrupted by their want for power of their own which ended up in their downfall.
Which brings me back to why the Megabird would create something that would eventually turn away from it. Like, did it just not know that was a possibility?? It's a godlike creature would it not know??
I don't know maybe my interpretation just doesn't make sense lol
god ≠ omniscience
Or even demanding complete obedience to it. Think of Megabird as not like the Abrahamic God
I have a god in my story who created many AIs to help humanity, but some of those AIs chose to do bad things. Despite that he didn't punish them and instead offered them help and a place to go if they ever wished to change their ways. He didn't want his children to be servants to humans, he wanted them to be friends and partners. And that meant giving them the freedom to choose, even if they chose to do bad things. I see Megabird the same way. They gave their creations the freedom to choose their own path, even if it meant they would end up hurting themselves. And when they did mess up, Megabird still welcomed them back into the Light with open uhhhh wings I guess?
Good news: This is only the beginning
Bad news: This is only the beginning
Welcome aboard to the lore of sky
on our right we have war, on our left: we have king and up ahead is whatever happened in Eden
Truth! To me it's like
Good news: There is so much lore
Bad news: There is so much lore

I thought there was too little lore
Yes that makes much more sense! Thank you for your input!
What is the megabird?
Tbh after the concert my friend and I think Aurora is the god of the sky universe lol
unlikely Aurora given she's a real person and it'd be weird to insert her the person as canon in a fictional world.
Megabird is the proverbial god of Sky, a manifestation of the Light, which is a mass of all ascended beings of light within it, or the embodiment of the light cycle that moves throughout the world. Megabird takes shape as the bird-like starry galaxy we see after the end credits while descending
Although, @primal rapids, it was stated that Aurora spent a lot of time developing this season, so she may be more canon than we think.
that's like saying the devs are canon cos they made the game
Fr, that's why we heard her voice in orbit
Ah thank you!
i mean the devs aren’t physically in the game like her tho right?
more quarters for the jar
Actually they are... They have spirits in the office and around holiday events
oh!! that’s cool i’ve never been there
Office isn't considered canon by most either
That's fair but they ARE in the game. However, I feel like Aurora is different. She guides us through orbit and stuff and she is the voice of all the singing in orbit/credits too... Unlike the devs which are just kinda there making jokes
Now's the time! The office is normally not an open area but it's open for days of feast! If you go to vault, all the way on the back left wall is a crack leading to the office
Not really. We can see some dev spirit in office
My husband and I feel similar about her. Although we don't quite believe her to be physical AURORA deity. We believe her to just be the voice of the light. Her as a person IRL, to us, is like what Megabird would embody.
Advocate for the earth, self-reflection, etc.

What I was saying was that Aurora designed so much of the season and how it fits into Sky, then why would she make herself non-canon?
maybe she wanted to we don't know
I think Aurora’s voice is canon but she, as a character, isn’t
Yeaaah me too, I think she’s meant to be the voice of Megabird and since every creature is part of Megabird, she’s also the voice of nature
Basically, I think it’s akin to her voicing a character, not being a self insert
Heyo I'm so obsessed with the Aurora concert I keep rewatching it
The end, where Aurora is flying us up in the clouds during a sunset, after we see all those stone dead people right? What if it's what's left of Eden, on the ground
bobbiteth
Bobbitsadi
i have an aurora theory and i’d don’t know if it’s been said before or not! i think aurora is a skykid (a very important one maybe the first?). she wears a cape for a couple of her outfits and similar to how we see ancestor memories, i feel like the songs are also ancestor memories except larger because she’s more powerful!
this mural in the colosseum shows what i think to be skykids descending to the world and maybe the center big one could be her. also she does big calls during the concert near the end!
this theory probably has some holes that don’t make sense but i thought it was cool lol
simplified Aurora lore:
birb
Are krill essentially harmless to anything that’s not a light creature or ancestor spirit?
well, if you don't count everything that harms them, then yea you could consider krill harmless. but I'd say krill are the furthest from harmless
As harmless as a bear
Whoag dudes this light being absorbed sure can red. Any theories ? Makes me think of the shards and the eden poprocks.
I think it only does that for you dude, it’s a sign of evilness or something
yea, it's been red since the Shattering update iirc (at least June 28 when I first took a vid of it)
Diagnosed evil shadow skull by TGC,,, so cool and gay 🏳️🌈
Btw remember how we thought the realms elevation (like, at what altitude they roughly are at) follows the mood roller-coaster of the story ? Like how Isle and Golden Wasteland are definitely at ground level while Valley is above the clouds. I think it represents the gay flag 😳
Hemorrhage
Eden is at the top of course bc of the red shards and skies.
Valley is on the second highest mountain range and got orange skies at the end.
Prairie represents the yellow stripe with the butterflies
Wasteland is green with the skies, it could count as slightly more elevated due to the nearby Valley and Eden mountain ranges.
Cyan stripe is represented by forest that is slightly higher up than Isle.
Isle represents blue because there's that one spot behind Candlemaker's cave that makes everything bluer.
And finally, the underground Vault represents the purple stripe, with the enchantment light of the same color.
Conclusion: LGBT kingdom
queer
You are so right Vela, but to be honest we didn’t need a whole theory to know this. Just look at the isle spirits for a while and you will know
Bold of you to assume they aren't burned in my retinas as we speak.
...... cough cough coug season of the play cough couhh cough
Hello lorechat !!! I dunno if this is doable or not but like ,, I'm looking for somewhere I can find a complete rundown of all the canon/confirmed lore in Sky so far but I don't know who to go to or where to look for said information
I dunno how much comfirmed lore there is or not or if theres a big mega-source of it but I thought i'd ask ! by lore I mean like,,,, major events that happened in-world, elder lore, etc. Thanks in advance if anyone can help
^ I FOUND a lore doc further up in chat nevermind sorry SDSCVB
Uh yep do you need any more help with more specific questions?
Im working on a lil comic of sorts so im just looking for like.. general information of what things are canonically, like what Winged Light is or how the game's aspects and quests n stuff translate into an in-universe concept or story if that makes sense
I just dont wanna get any canon info wrong when I start drawing
That’s mostly up to you, there’s little to none canon info about all that
The document has a bit about the Winged Lights.
As for seasonal quests? Do what you want for that.
i mean we could guess- everything is made out of fallen light so maybe its little pieces of light that has fallen for us to pick up and bring to eden again but who knows
yeah, interperetation is what ive mostly done so far for isle lore but im a lil stuck on trying to come up with something that'll work smoothly for winged light, since the most I could find on them is that they resemble skykids and our characters have a close relationship to what they're represented with
i think i remember some sort of diagram in the concept art that i found interesting that showed winged lights (didn't have much information but still interesting) and i think there's a timeline shown in the concepts as well? not all is canon and i think some stuff was (possibly) scrapped but i can send you a link to the concept art page?
YES i'd really appreciate that ! thank you !
https://www.tomzhao.com/sky1
concept art page with some neat lore stuff scattered in the mix
agh. concept art isn't canon
remember that concept art is concept – not necessarily canon but rather informs us of what the devs were thinking when they moved through stages of development. Zhao's concepts are from 2013-2015ish
I'll keep that in mind! thank you!
still interesting to take a look at and get an idea of what directions tgc was thinking in for some stuff that doesn't have much if any info
'course take things with a grain of salt
👀 and ive seen some things in concept art that did later come true i think sk its a valid source of inspiration for theorizing
it's fine to theorize about what could've been by looking at concept art, but if you want to make theories about the game as it is now, that won't be very strong supporting evidence at all
im not going to argue, i can tell i will only get emotionally invested and rather cross with you
good day, lore chat !!
i'm new to sky spaces but i just wanna share my idea of the skids... my big headcanon/theory is that sky kids were made in the image of the children of the spirits' race. (they weren't always spirits, so i'd call them the sky people, compared to sky kids)
i imagine that the kids are sculpted out of, like, clay and have hard outer shells with an inner light as an energy source, which is how they get capes and hair and masks and stuff. without the light, they are just empty bodies without personality and distinction
they're supposed to look like the old sky people's children because, like, idk, children are innocent and whimsical and i never like using the word 'pure' but. corruption is clearly a big theme in sky so for this purpose, kids are Pure. and so they are pure sky kids to attempt to heal the corruption
sorry this is long i don't rly know the etiquette
all rly basic ideas that's probably been talked about a gazillion times but when i go on tumblr i don't see a lot of ppl who seem to agree so i just wanna. talk a lil
Bobbiteth
Very interesting theory. In regards to etiquette, what you just did is totally fine... Well... In my opinion.
I don't think there's etiquette different from the server in lore chat tbh, it's just that chat is slower so it's not as active as say, genchat
I really like your theory ! Did you notice that the game refers to the folks that are now spirits as "your ancestors" in the emotes help menu ? I believe more or less the same thing due to this.
My theory is that, since death and rebirth are a strong theme in Sky, skykids are the reincarnation of ancestors ! iirc some devs said in an interview or a stream that we play children so we feel vulnerable and free to be goofy and play with strangers, but it could also simply be to cement that we play descendants that inherited the world from a much older civilization...
This could explain why some old assets also group skykids and ancestors in the stars as "your family", though it likely just may be that the game was originally meant for families to play together after feedback from Journey.
But I like to think ancestors feel a familial bond with skykids because they look like their children and may seek their comfort (you can hug most questgivers) !
is this place for headcanons too lmao
Yeah
my hc is that every sky kid sleeps with star patterned socks, u cant change my mind
also im curious abt what a sky kid's eyes look like when they're open (Without a mask on top)
Are sky kids warm blooded or cool blooded or no blooded?
if u think about it they could have both cold or warm blood
but if we're honest, light doesn't have blood so 😔
cold or warm blooded? nah. light blooded
fr
i wonder how light sky kids are (no pun intended), like how much could they possibly weigh and if we're being realistic.. how big would a dark dragon even be compared to a human?
We tried to solve that months ago using math… it didn’t work well
oof
We did get some funny stuff, like speeds for Skykids and Krills
Skykids run at about 8 MPH, while a charging krill is about 30 MPH
Yesss every Skykid deserves some socks
Soup blooded
slow krill ughh
Slow?? You know that's almost as fast as a charging bull
yeah but i was comparing it to the speed of a car 😭
still wondering how big a krill would be lol
Measure it yourself- if you dare. But we do know Skykid size: chibi skykids are 2'3, moth skykids are 3'2, and max height skykids are 3'10
oh yeah then krills are definitely much bigger than us
nobody's brave-or foolish- enough to accurately measure a krill
a max height sky kid would look like a chibi next to me since im 5'2 😨 .. 6'3 people would be giants to them
I think 6'3's roughly the height of the Prophecy Guide
off topic but performance guitarist 🤤 anyway
glad krills are so much bigger than expected since they are really just "dark dragons" and the first thing when you think of dragons is how big they are
NOOO THE REACTIONS-
Counterpoint: what if we use AURORA as a system of measurement instead of the game award in the office. we know her height for sure and we have her standing next to a bunch of spirits
krills looking at aurora: 😨 .. 😔 😱
I’m curious of something and it may be lore related: are the Sky kids made of candle wax? Their skin reminds me of it
ooo thats a fun idea! i wonder what they smell like..
Sky kids prolly smell like scented candles
Like all of the silly labels people put on candles, like coconut lime or pig bacon (which is an actual candle smell)
the smell could change depending on the cape ur wearing (ex: green butterly cape either makes you smell like flowers or grass??)
do skykids have noses
PIG BACON IM CRYING
Their skin is very smooth and the further down the leg it goes the lighter it gets, which leads me to believe they are of candle wax
yeah probably 🤔 when you have the 'black mask' on you if you go on a profile view you can see they have kind of a lil bump where their nose would be so i guess??
art credit to eden._.cafe on insta, posting it cause it’s the best diagram I can find. this shook me to my core and I feel like I need to share it
Conversion Notes
2.55M = roughly 8’4”
2.13M = roughly 7’
these people are HUGE
bro that blue spirit making me feel some type of way idk bro
Makes the chibis look like infants
I want you all to understand I haven’t been able to stop thinking about this art piece since I saw it
But is Aurora really that big in-game? Is her height perfectly transcribed 1:1?
aurora looks like a caring short mom in that art 😭
🤨🏳️🌈⁉️ /lh
I mean, I would assume it’s more accurate height wise and more accurate to measure with (due to perspective reasons) than the game award in the office is, which is what the previous measurements are based off of
hell yeah bro
We should check both, and see how accurate it is.
hi lore chat idk if this is the right place 4 this but do u guys think skykids would bleed red or nah im tryna build up my own personal sky lore and idk whether to make it so they bleed red or not
I don't think they would bleed red- they seem to be made mostly of light so if they bleed anything it would be probably yellower
yeah thats what i was thinking
They don’t bleed, they spill light particles, as far as I know all features are made of it, including the white hair
I like to imagine that when their shell cracks, sunbeams or light particles come out ^^ I’ve seen a good bit of people give them glowy yellow blood instead
i dont think wax bleeds 😭 so.. if they did bleed however it'd either be little pixie dust looking blood or just yellow?
epic!! ty guys for ur input i appreciate it
worth noting we don't know for sure if kids are made from wax
The mask evaporates when you loose your light, meaning the mask contains it, so if anything I’d say they don’t have blood. We were just talking about the idea of them being made of candle wax
I have reservations about how accurate the game award is as a measurement because it’s sized to fit in the office, and I doubt the devs measured it before they added it in and did their best to make the height as accurate as possible. At best it would be an eyeballing thing, most likely they just stuck it on the desk roughly where the actual one wasn’t and didn’t pay much attention about making it a perfect 1:1 diagram of the irl office.
Aurora, on the other hand, doesn’t need to be that size for skykid perspective reasons. She just is.
Wait, if their made of wax, do they melt? Like if we excuse them being able to summon fire out of nowhere, is it possible that heat could melt them
sky kids as soon as they come in contact with anything: death
It’s also worth noting they don’t have toes, just stumps, like del toro Pinocchio
Let 8’4” backflip into your heart Baudshaw, you know you want to
not sure if you've all seen SAD-IST's sky animation (which i guess we could consider canon since tgc inspired the PS trailer off of it) but i wonder if cosmetics and everything else was made out of light but a sky kid's body isnt
if not wax then im assuming their bodies could be made out of clay or something that dries up and becomes hard as a rock [kind of like cement] explaining how we can also swim without just dying
Their body isn’t, when you run out of light you still have a body, but everything else is gone except the outline of clothing. Even their eyes are light ( we blink in game which means we aren’t some wax figurine at least)
Here, it’s mathin time
Sadly we need height comparisons for one of the Aurora spirits next to the floating blue version of her first before we can do that
so we can agree that cosmetics and everything else other than their bodies and clothing outline is made out of just pure light or particles of it at least?
also i wonder how that works considering we still have a mask and hair despite having 0 winged lights (When u first start the game)
Yeah, I’d say cosmetics are all light. Not sure where we pick up the clothes tho. It’s possible that the outer Sky shell is hard and sturdy enough to be slammed against something, but hollowed out to contain light
our flame/natural inner light!
oh yeah right
Yeah we have a semblance of light at the beginning, given the red candle. We also give fire to each of the temple people
imagine tgc just dumps all lore on top of us and we have nothing more to talk about lmao 💀
I don’t have the energy to do height math for every spirit based off this, so will leave it to someone else, but consider fire prophet actual height based off this
elders would probably all be above 9-10’ tall
They’d never, we’ll forever burn in the dark of it 🥺.
how does a krill's attack work though, do they just bump into us and we lose our light or do they like suck up all of our light and leave us with none left??
because there's no way we're walking around with an open chest and our light in the middle of it without any protection from harm?
Maybe it has to do with shadows and light overtaking each other. They just have so much more dark than light than us, given their forms, so think of the night overtaking the day, or the sun being further than the moon
imagine if we shone a lantern upon every single krill, they'd just disintegrate 💀
I have to go, I have a headache and I think it’s about to get worse ack
I got it! Using Aurora as a reference, chibi Skykids are 1 feet 9 inches! Which means moths are 2 feet 6 inches, and max height Skykids are 3 feet.
There's quite a big margin of error, especially compared to the old measurements.
well finally im taller than someone or something 💀
…You know the diagram i posted is using Aurora’s height during the concert, not the blue floating form, right? Hence why she looks like that
true, but how would we easily measure a Skykid using that?
jailbreak the concert so you can stand next to her or something idk
😳
Using emulators is against the Sky TOS, @sharp lichen. Please don’t use or discuss emulators here.
thats what im saying bro like
y'all need megabird
Pretty simple!
We already know her height, so you measure warrior of love (or any other Aurora spirit who stands/kneels next to her during the concert) based off that. This part was done for us. Then you stand next to that spirit (all the Aurora spirits are the same height actually) and measure yourself!
I’d probably use my torch as an easy and simple ruler to compare, as long as it was on a flat surface next to whoever I’m measuring. might do that later.
whats megabird 😭
finally we don't have to use that one lantern in wasteland lobby
someone wholesome and innocent, unlike you
cRYING
im pulling up the lightskin stare thats it
Bearhug Hermit could throw me like a projectile weapon if they so desired
they would never do that but the option is there
i want the performance guitarist to literally set me on fire
I had a sad idea that unfortunately didn't pan out about vault.
It is thinking of the idea that the vault doesn't contain memories, but the spirits themselves. That when the Dawn would ferry then towards their journey to Eden, over time the other elders had no way to truly send ancestors to Eden because the Eden Elder blocked it off. So vault would keep the spirits in the lanterns for the day they could finally be sent through. Unfortunately, this mass collection of ancestor lights infuriated the cycle of Eden, so the Vault elder started to use enchantments and/or magic to repurpose spirits into mantas/birds/whales, but it was wrong and resulted in a mass explosion, trapping the Eden Elder in limbo(the sky kid you hug after Eden) as penance for their crimes.
It has some holes, but it helped support the idea why Dawn isn't on the Eden gate, because they never agreed with those methods in the first place. So while the other elders aren't "bad" they also weren't entirely "good" like a Neutral party.
More to add: there are statues of other children in Eden because the Elder's had no way to get through to the Eden King, so the Elder's would send children, believing the murals around the realm were their saving grace to fix the problem.
So Megabird created us to return balance to the world we broke.(continuing the idea that we, as Sky Kids, is what the Eden Elder would have been)
OR
There are Sky Kid statues in Eden because the Eden Elder felt lonely and only trusted Children who are innocent, and a playful bunch. It became a perfect paradise.
tgc where's the 'crushing on spirits' channel 😨
in hell 👍
this entire channel has become one big skull emoji (not you captshenanigans)
I'm sorry for not being christian enough for your taste, I shall repent like the sinful little heathen I am, amen
bro i do not regret anything i said, performance guitarist is so fine
this is just like the hit song heathens by aurora
Blood in the Wine plays as I turn the priest gay
megabird stays in orbit because She lives in fear of what She has created

Did I miss out on the new lore theories
No I don't think so
it's been chill today
Dang, was kinda expecting some new lore theories
It's ok, you can make your own !
I just shared one about vault, if you're interested! It's right up above
I recalculated, and:
Chibi: 2 foot 5
Moth: 3 foot 4
Max: 4 foot 1
Sorry metric people
Conclusion: In reality, it's really close to the old BAFTA measurements, so this only works to confirm it.
Source: napkin math
Naw, it’s all gud I’m just waiting for lore to feed off my curiosity
I've noticed my strength lies more in adding things to other peoples theories and I'm ok with that
and telling people to put some dang evidence for their theories
I love this theory! Light is repurposed naturally (second performance quest) all the time, so it would make sense for the Vault Elder to do it articially!
I love you you credited napkin math.
Thank you! It's the first theory I have that I feel has substance
full of microplastics
I love microplastics
Ooouuugh fibsh;;;

Megabird kills people
Source ?
More like... Recycles them
E d e n
???
that's not something megabird is doing that's something we do
Megabird is not in control of every death like the Christian god is
OKAY, so I'm using your numbers and going through the concert to see if we can figure this out. Pausing the video with the Running wayfarer, AURORA stands about their shoulder at the top of her head. So I'm going off knowing that my husband is about a foot and some off Inches taller than me, so I'm going to throw in that the wayfarer is about a foot taller than AURORA.
Using AURORA's IRL height of 5'3, this puts them at 6'3(visually, it looks right?)
My Sky Kid is the tallest it can be, so when I hug AURORA after the concert, I hug her around the waste, so I think your math about the tallest being 4'1 is correct.
Height chart! Can only pick between male and female with this site unfortunately
Unfortunately, this does rely on eyeballing. I have access to a decent photo editing program I can try figuring this out later when I have time
But Megabird is (assumedly) the one sending untold numbers of kids on these pilgrimages to Eden.
It's irresponsible at best, or actively malicious at worst depending on how much influence Megabird can exert
LMAO ABSOLUTELY this is entirely off eyeballing and guesstimating. Hence why we're doing some work in the lore channel. We have no canon numbers at all
that (assumedly) is saying a lot rn strega
Why can’t skykids have agency and go there themselves?
Because they were born like 3 days ago
Also, polite counter, if we didn't play the game, we wouldn't go on the pilgrimage at all
blasts you all with my evidence beam
Skykids arent illegible babies tho
True
OR they're light fixtures with no death and birth, they just exist for all eternity

New intro does imply this isn't your first time in the realms tho
Yeah but their knowledge of the world at large would probably not be the best. Yes they're capable of independent choices but given they don't have the information available to make an informed decision it probably isn't the best thing in the world
Honestly, this has all brought about that Sky now feels like a play through of the water cycle
AH sorry, didn't realize that. Ignore everything I just said i am going to go look at the new intro
I used iPhone’s screenshot editor. In it, there’s a ruler with tics. I used some basic math to measure the tics, then compare it to height.
OH. I'm SO sorry if I pinged you, I moved to my laptop and I can't remember if I did or not, so I deleted the message
But it said Oooooh!!! Very cool!! Thank you for doing that
Fun idea to wonder the heights of everyone and everything
I just realized why I was connecting these dots. The interactions of the spirits at the end of Vault, when the Vault elder shows you, what to me is essentially the knowledge of where you came from, they all bow except the vault elder.
So I feel there is regality(it could just be a formal way to say thank you for guiding them) But I think it's so much more than that. It solidified my idea that you, as a Sky Kid are remnants of the Eden Elder. I believe the Vault elder doesn't bow because they were the closest to you and your choices when you were the Eden Elder. Their mask is scarred, I think it's because there was a scuffle between the vault elder and Eden Elder when Vault tried to disagree.
And for the longest time I couldn't figure out why it shows the eden elder with the crown eating something. I think that ball, the eden elder is eating, is the orb of the ancestors. This really supports the idea that the Vault Elder was aware what was happening and tried to balance out the universe by turning ancestors into creatures of light.
I think along side the pollution of the world, the war in GW was also fought because they realized something was wrong, which was why they tried to get into Vault. Because Vault was the only place an ancestor couldn't go unless they were of a specific caliber(with see this in murals with the difference of headpieces. Vault ancestors are shown with the taller masks like on the Arc.)
This leads me to think Triumph was originally created as a "distraction" from the gates of GW. In AURORA's concert, the temple of Triumph isn't even built yet, at least not the one we see in today's era of the game. The temple is built in the gorge we fly through at the end, and the arena is monumental.
I'm running through forest now and literally just connected those dots after looking at the orbs of the ancestors that you can relive.
something interesting I noticed during the concert is think about where all those dark plants grow in wasteland and then look at where all those corpses are in the concert
Great observation
could you elaborate on what you mean by the ‘orb of the ancestors?’
ponder the orb
The floating orb, you cleanse of corruption when you're activating or reliving a memory to help them ascend.
Nicknamed it Orb of the ancestors for me to keep track of my thoughts since it doesn't really... have a name? (I don't think)
Finally, a person who's not afraid of spitting facts

Happy Christmas/Christmas Eve Lorechat!
Or any wintertime holiday ye may celebrate :D
Et tu, Brutus?
Let them cook
If there’s a hot character in Sky, it’s not in Valley
The only truly hot characters in Sky are the Elders.
Baud, this isn’t like you
Baud look into my eyes this isn't you 🥺
I know this isn't your heart
That was a dark road I walked on.
Ow what the hell
I will never walk it again. Years, possible decades ago, I held the cursed agonizing belief. Now, I will not. Never in my life have I been so ashamed of myself. There is nothing that can fully repent me now. I can only find shame in my past, never solace.
I don’t think any sky characters are hot, but I do acknowledge that performance guide and valley twins are pretty darn gender
“Gender”
tbh i think they're both attractive and gender
Offtopic but I love your bio background crimson
Two of them
Crimson may we see the full two of them image please I like it very much
Gender in their presentation, not their identity.
Commodore is very damn gender to me even though they’re agender.
I think the most gender is teths concept designs, they’re so good, lil umbrella, lil lynx? Who wouldn’t want to be a lynx?
Oh you are so right I love kitty cat
They can shapeshift in my hc, they wanna rp warrior cats? They can do that
They want to just walk around the forest as a lynx they can do that, ultimate peak furry hobby
Confusing the cis people in this channel by telling them the cave of prophecies gives me gender envy
I get it, it’s a nice cave
But what does it MEAN? What does being gender mean? Am I gender? Are you gender? Is this channel gender?
It’s a very trans thing
It's time to go back to our ancestral roots
I don’t feel gender
but I know I have one
scratch that I have two like the greedy little gender gremlin I am
HELPP
I'm the gender.
But are you gender?
Boy if you don't go eat that cracker
Relevant
Real!!!
leave tlp ALONE why do you want to eat him
White boy summer is OVER
White girl winter is IN (that was funnier in my head help)
ohhhh is that why auroras like that
I'm not trans enough to comprehend this I'm sorry I've failed ||/j||
Gender is so weird
I’m not to versed but would this be gender? I can see it (slay)
I can look at a black bear and feel gender envy. I can look into the void of space and feel gender envy. Why am I like this?
Gender fr
Imma try to stay on topic a little but I find it fascinating that the elders had animal designs before, and made me think what they would be if they could shapeshifter into said animals
Only ones I’m set in stone in
Is teth lynx
Bear Ayin
And arctic fox twins
- the skypolice interrogating the belonging family after they’re found out
I should have specified human Black bears
Real
Oh my god I thought you meant the animal this entire time and I didn’t question it
I understood what you meant
Im having another coughing fit at this but real
I feel like Daleth would be a type of bird but I go back and fourth on what
The person who wrote the tags on the second post is Laidback Pioneer
My current outfit gives people gender envy so I'd say yes.
I know they were a vulture in concepts, maybe that? I imagine them as a turkey vulture usually, i think the Vibes are similar
Ooo that was their concept animal? Images were so blurry that I couldn’t see anything
Yeah! I have a suspicion it’s why they’re bald
Would make sence
wait imma make somthing
i always saw em as griffon vulture they’re funky fellas
THE SILLY I LOVE RHEM
Elegant
(now I mention spider tsadi concept art and leave)
Guys
Guys
Lammergeier.
Obligatory spider Tsadi
I love spider Tsadi but i would cry if they walked up to me ingame with their hand legs like the humanoid version
big /positive
Tsadi seeing me pull up with a Net Ball
Spider Tsadi
Spider Tsadi
Does whatever a spider needs
Spin a web
Wage a war
Spider Tsadi
Got an idea hold on
silly bird
This bird sold me a gender in a 7/11 parking lot in Vegas
ah heck naw
RHIS IS MY FIRST TIME SEEING THESE OH MY GOD????? THIS IS SO COOL
Is the idea catching the elders that’s a great idea I’m coming along
for mine I broke into a dragon lair and stole them with nobody noticing /j
I considered bearded vultures briefly but I don’t think the vibes are quite right, I think turkey vulture and griffon vulture that Krii posted align better.
Hot take is that Stealthy Survivor has lammergeier vibes but they’re not an elder
THE HORN BIRD MASK IS SO COOL
there’s like another pic of bird daleth that im fighting for my life to find
I miss concept art Rain
the furriest of the furry elders…
My friend
thinking about how to give lamed a fursona
They were Gucci furry alr
Ok but the T mask tho
Also this bird is trans
Spider Tsadi net ball Real
PFTTTT
I think Day would be a bear, what type of bear are we thinking
Gay
Ay yo they’re balling
soft fuzzy bear
still fighting for my life 2 find that 1 bird daleth but here’s another daleth
Gay bear but maybe a black bear
I was thinking grizzly
y’all give me ideas for night fursona
I was thinking owl but we already have a bird and it didn’t give the right vibes
mayb snake?
Krii this is my first time seeing these it’s like Christmas came early thank you
Me with this concept art
We knew that, I’m asking about the animal
Anime chin
Do you mean this Daleth?
consider
sloth bear cause the ears remind me of the hair w how they’re like tufts sorta
THATS ACTUAL CONCEPT ART???
ALSO KRII REAL I AGREE
Sloth bear also fits cuz ayin seems to nap a lot
I looked them up and apparently they do everything noisily too which extra fits based on how many noises Day makes in their cutscene., adopted into my belief system immediately
Steals this aswell
do you gamers have any ideas over here?
owl makes sense cause “night owl”, but once again we already have a bird and I can’t think of any owls that give the right vibes
snake has more options though…
Turtle
FOUND they’re the gatekeep of gaslight gatekeep birdboss
I LOVE THEM
gaslight gatekeep birdboss!
I think turtle cause old and wise but actually I think every turtle I met was a bit stupid
Ooo maybe a giant turtorise??
I know they were a monkey in some concept art. I’ve always associated them with ravens as well, or elephants; one of the super smart animals
Bnuuy Skykids
AWEEE
WE COULDVE HAD RHIS BRO
ooh raven works
gives the right vibes all the way
screw that “already having a bird” thing
giving night those puzzles ppl give ravens as enrichment
on that note they would def love puzzles
hence why their realm has lots
Foxunny
I see the twins as arctic foxes cuz they are social animals, and it’s fitting, plus I can imagine them doing that fox thing where they do they jump in the snow. The noises foxes make are adorable
Ravens like to mimic certain sounds and enjoy saying them whenever. So consider, Night echolalia stim
Cresurs
silly creatures my beloved
Real!!!
I like to think they exist in sky even if we don’t see them💔
ravens can also be a bit mischievous, so consider
if night were free to just do whatever in their realm, they would totally sneak up on skykids and do the krill noise
i think abt the whole teths friend thing w the whale n how ayin at one point had a whale mask so so so much besties moment
Day had a whale mask at one point? oh that’s really interesting
Literally them
Relatable
Like LOOK! twin energy to me I feel it in my bones, they would do this
Day being based off a whale in concepts and Dusk having a whale (
) theme now…
Oughhhhh
they're siblings your honor
was trying 2 find a pic of whale day but like. Bro who buried the deer
Woa I never seen this one before
i made this as a joke but also. two of them
them 🤍
TWO OF THEM
just the two of them
Two edens in hermit valley?
Think this would be better in #screenshots-and-videos , it’s a bug
Oh shoot! I'll report too because I have that too. I was seriously confused
Double calamity
It’s been like this for months idk why they aren’t fixing it
it's probably not super high priority
Are yall still talking boss animal forms of elders because….I have fan art
The Sunset elder twins being a two-headed dragon is absolutely genius
Maybe a Raptor…..fox…..thing. I made up Samekh and Lamed’s from scratch so they are more abstract-ish.
Vault is an eeveelution
librareon
Hastily done, but tried to make their tails the sticks they use (based it on this mecha from a dress up game I play)
Mecha dragon Valley
Cool
Very very freakin cool
Random question for an oc, what is the lore behind maskless moths? Is there something about them that made them turn maskless?
A "moth" is a new player. They have brown wings, they flap around uncontrollably, and they are drawn to flame!
what maskless moths? For what I remember, you start the game wearing a mask
Sorry, I meant maskless players
They’re wearing Aurora cosmetics
I think it's not that the mask is removed, it's just invisible
Ahhh I see, thank you!
You can see the contours of the face on maskless skids. Seems redundant to wear an invisible mask
There’s a style/subculture among Sky players I can’t name cos it’s censored in this server, but one of their defining looks is masklessness. In fact that is what my skid in this pic is emulating.
The kid (supposedly One) on stargazer’s memories is also born without any mask, so I believe masks are indeed a sort of cosmetic
(Hypothetically) Why would a (if this was a character) oc choose to wear this kind of maskless mask?
We don't know if the Chosen One (and the Aurora kid) is a Skykid, Ancestor, or just a simple model
There’s a lot of reasons too, so it’d be up to the character. My OC Naihho does it cos a couple of their mentors belong to this subculture so whenever Naihho is feeling insecure, they emulate their mentors to boost their self-esteem
Using emulators is against the Sky TOS, @frigid tinsel. Please don’t use or discuss emulators here.
It depends on the character! Some random reasons might include,
- they hate the feeling/weight of a mask on their face
- they’re a part of the subculture Alasdair mentioned above
- they can’t project a mask there for whatever reason
- they lost their mask or it broke somehow
Have I run over why they’re almost definitely a skykid with you yet? I feel like I have but I might be wrong
That’s cool! Thank you so much! I’ll use this info ^^
Later, Naihho goes maskless cos their darkness sickness makes it difficult to project a mask, like Salem said. Also the makeup is cool.
Ushering Stargazer is one thing, but the Aurora memory is something else, even if they have similar models
Projecting masks? I'd like to hear more about this 👁
Didn't mean to ping you 😭
Skykids’ cosmetics are made of light which they project, or manipulate, to look a certain way around their body
Adding a funny non serious one: every sky kid is near sighted and the masks work like glasses, they’re not closing their eyes without them they’re squinting really hard to see
I was thinking of making my character blind!
You’re right, they are two different stories. I’m not really sure why they used the same model for Running Wayfarer, it might just be a case of reusing the closest model because they didn’t want to make another one, but it makes the entire story confusing.
That's cool!! I have a personal theory that skykids can use echolocation when blinded (by lighting or injury)
It would be basically someone who is kind of a shepherd to the butterflies and rays since they can use their ears more than their eyes to keep them put, they’d be fast but their speed can end up being both a blessing and a curse if they aren’t paying attention
It's probably just a regular Ancestor child
Fair I mean, deep honks do sort of give that impression
You may find it interesting to know of the theory that skykids may have a sense of echolocation. This is based upon the deep calling showing us the location of friends, extinguished players, and the light boost from the skids that can unveil the shape of things in the dark
I do still want to find theories on why the ancestors wore masks, It's been confirmed its a cultural thing right? But why? What's the significance?
Would you say all sky kids are sort of mute if we don’t count their honks? Because other than their honks they do not technically speak
Neither do the spirits
Hehehehe imagine they don’t know spoken language at all and they were like “??????” All the time with Aurora and LP
Sky doesn’t really have a lot of text and the only voice heard in game is Aurora. Presumably in-universe everyone is a lot more talkative but that’s not the way TGC is telling this story. Journey was like this.
Probably. I wondered for a bit if running wayfarer was one of the stars that fell but I don’t think so.
The whole stars falling bit of the intro is confusing enough that honestly I’m gonna wait a bit and see if the animation elaborates on it at all. There are like 3000 things that can be referred to as stars in Sky what does it mean
“Where are the hand signs and body movements?!??” Some skykid, most likely
I do have some skykid OCs who are semi- or nonverbal thus communicate with sign language or emphasize their body language
I was planning to definetly go the nonverbal route as I think the way skykids move and act is way more important than their speech
I headcanon skykids partially communicate through a form of telepathy ^^
Omg speaking of journey
I have a little headcannon that the first "skykids" (the ones from journey) were a failed attempt. They had the same goal as our current skykids, right after everything in the kingdom went 💀💀💀
and they failed, so millions of years later our moths were made
I meaaaan, there’s a lot of possibilities. Cultural doesn’t always mean “holding a big significance” so it could just be an article of clothing they wear a lot without it thinking about it (like how in Asian and South American countries we wear flip flops daily). It could also do have a meaning and be a form of identifying certain professions (like performers wearing bird masks, prophets wearing masks made out of stone), or could be out of necessity for some reason
Oooo!! Thats a pretty cool hc! I do think current skykids are the “better” attempts but still not quite there. So they are hoping one of the skykids to not follow the same pattern mayhaps? To line see if this batch is truly the desired one?
To clarify,
skykids make light links with their friends, which they send thoughts down with their honks. hence why you can only chat with friends, and why you honk whenever you say something.
any communication with not skykids is mostly based on body language and gestures, as well as honks (although these are just sound based). To anyone not a skykid, they seem almost silent.
YESS NEW HCS IN LORE CHAT
is there a yt w the lore/history of sky i can watch
there is one, but it's very long and rambly
probably but I can't guarantee if it'll be accurate or correct
I mean, it's almost impossible to be "correct" at Sky lore
ive had that skykid telepathy headcanon for a while now
is there any actual solid lore of what happened before || eden || existed? or was it always there
Eden was probably a sacred site before it turned into the darkness hellscape we know today
I'm still betting on Eden having been the kingdom's capital
Honestly, with Eden have a literal castle on top, it's safe to say that it is the capital
I have a full document of fanfic lore about the history of Sky along with some new original backstory
It's ridiculous, but I kinda like it
Just by myself in the middle of the night...
nahhh, also, u should share it (if u r fine)
👀
So we know the golden wasteland was likely the big city as to the goal set at the start of valley of triumph is to open the city gates at the end. It could be likely that Eden is just a large estate belonging to the supposed monarchy rather than being the capital, it's large size could be due to its now destroyed gardens and accommodation for those who work in the estate. This is largely theory crafting and more of a head canon though
In the Switch Trailer, we just barely see Eden without the darkness. In it, there’s a beam of light shooting to the sky and very little else.
Was The Ark always a shipwreck? Or was intact and was a travelling boat once
The latter. You can see it’s crash depicted on the Ark murals
okay, so let me get this straight
there was a kingdom called sky, and there lived our ancestors.
a series of events happened, (i know there was probably a war) which led up to a big catalyst that shattered the kingdom and made all of our ancestors dieded
after a long time, sky kids were born
this group of sky kids frees the dieded ancestors from the stone statues, return their souls to the stars, plus takes care of the kingdom our ancestors left behind so it remains as bright as possible after the shattering moment?
then what do seasonal spirits do, for example assembly? were they doing their thing, building the treehouse and scouting before the moment of shattering? or did the moment of shattering interrupt their activities and after we free the seasonal spirits and relieve their memories they go on like nothing happened? im very confused.
Spirit memories depict events that transpired when the ancestors were alive. We free their spirits from the stone husks the spirit memories lead to, allowing them to roam world in the present. Base-game spirits go to Elder temples to ascend, but seasonal spirits linger in the world for a while, interacting with us before they decide to ascend.
And do they guides just stay in the world forever?
And why do the seasonal spirits get to ascend whenever they want while regular ones have to go to Elder temples
Yeah, I'll give you my version of the Sky Lore.
Maybe it’s a customs thing; the original spirits want to ascend at the most sacred places
I like to imagine we have to take seasonal spirits to temples too to ascend them in canon, because it’s sweet and it makes sense they would cut that bit out to streamline the ending cutscenes in game.
But if you want to keep it maybe we somehow ascend them instead of elders
i headcanon that sky kids can just pull off their faces to beam out light enough to evaporate krill temporarily
Zhao concept images. here are the files
And who's zhao? 😭. Sorry im new to the game
Tom Zhao used to work for TGC. He drafted some early concepts for Sky like this one. You can find more of his work here: https://www.tomzhao.com/sky1

hi people of lore, anything that i have missed?
Has anyone ever wondered who these eggs belong to?
Me, I laid them. Maybe don't poke them too much tho.
Unfortunately you can’t spell omelette without let
Lucho jumpscare
I remembered orb ponder
Baudshaw jumpscare
Did you know that the Valley Elders accelerate in the general direction of horni people?
Baud...
This wasn’t me, out of the blue people were talking some weird stuff about spirits
my reaction to this information
||Not that artist tho💀||
They look like a DJ ready to remix some sick beats
hello! are there any theories about eden or about the destruction of the world of sky that i can look up and read, I've been playing for several weeks now and i want to know more about the lore
The destruction of the Sky world is mostly unknown. This poem offers the most clues, though: #news message

ooh thank u! i might come back for more questions so i hope that's alright 🙇
Please ask! I’m happy to guide you through this ||extremely perilous|| journey regarding Sky lore.
Photographic evidence
Wasn't there a theory that the eggs symbolized the valley twins?
Pardon
Ok, I posted a giant metalore essay on the communities that have formed here, would anyone be interested?
A what
Lets see it
my best shot is that the mass destruction in sky was caused both by the long civil war and the eden cataclysm
now how was this destruction caused will depend on who you ask
What's the point of this
What’s the point of all of this
Idk, but its fun
whats the point of the point of all of this
The end is never the end is never the end is-
Ok, anyone got something lorey to discuss. Im in a lore mood
Baud why do you feel the need to put a hierarchy where there isn't one, ngl this is brushing me the wrong way 😬
they didnt? they only recalled the one in the times of KP which had an actual hierarchy (might be wrong)
This is such a strange post to make no matter the context
He puts current lore chat on a pedestal... we're just some guys, not savants.
Except me, I’m better than everyone else, but I agree
I didn’t want to glorify anyone. This channel since 2022 has been so wonderful and accepting, no matter what.
more than a pedestal it was just a description of important events, like a novelization of this chat than an actual "we're so cool" message

I think you didn't mean harm but some changes were the results of folks fighting to keep this space the way it is (lgbt friendly, critical of what we're fed, pushing to make deeper theories), so reducing that to periods feels wierd if not a bit insulting since I've been part of that at some point.
It's true that a lot of us right now want to push the king away from the spotlight to talk about other things, but that doesn't mean talking about the king is in itself controversial. There were a lot of rascists in KP, but also lore enthusiasts that didn't mean harm and jumped ship when it started to stink.
Old lorechat is so far up the discord history it's hard to gauge, but theories pre-prophecy could be really fascinating and some are so cool despite the accent on lore not being as obvious back then, it would be underestimating them to reduce them to just lorechat's first days.
I hope I made clear what makes me uncomfortable, citing people as examples of regulars isn't really bad but I don't want to shoulder having to uphold that kind of reputation, I've actually been here less and less because of the stress I've put myself under trying to negotiate with mods and regular users alike.
I understand the desire to feel like you’re part of something massive and grand and important; I was like that when I was younger — but really, we’re just some nerds that sit around each other and discuss game lore. I think taking ourselves too seriously can lead to more stress and elitism than it’s worth.
(For example, I was late to this conversation because I was distracted joke-rping Sky Rome, do not make the mistake of treating me like a dignified genius)
A “regular” isn’t a pedestal to reach or a goal to achieve. I’m sorry if it wasn’t that clear. There’s no hierarchy in lorechat, just people who like lore.
By “king is controversial”, what I meant is that people have many different opinions on what the king is and if the king even exists.
That's not my point, those were examples on how there's more nuance to this, you're talking to folks on behalf of an entire chat, dismissing some aspects to make it as it currently is look better.
Lore chat doesn't need a grand history or self-appointed greeters to get people curious about it to be interesting, people will come and go and that's fine.
We’re just lads who like this game and interested in its lore. Don’t need to make it something grander than it is
This is more minor but I will note that I didn’t really enjoy how you put former members we’ve had problems with in the past in the same category. I don’t like gossiping and so will be as vague as possible but I’m sure you know who we mean; I don’t think those people deserve to be put on a pedestal when some of them were who we were actively fighting against
I just tell people to cite their sources nothin grander than that
Designated Lore Reciter 🤓
I suppose.
I agree with this. I get anxious when I’m held up to grand expectations I can’t really meet, like being expected to teach newbies everything or something. I am both happiest and the best with lore when I’m not taking myself too seriously and am allowed to joke around.
I get you meant well Baud, just keep that in mind. I don’t want this channel to be elitistic or uptight or anything more than casual, and mindsets like the one you described can be a slippery slope towards that.
Do you all mind shifting the topic? I don’t think we need to dwell on this any longer, but if I’m wrong let me know.
Light creature spirits ! I wonder if in-universe, skykids also rescue and relive light creature memories...
interesting
Thinking about
aw imagine a stone crab and lighting the up like we do with ancestor statues, and it shows a memory of them and their bestie playing together
YEAH YOU GET IT
Manta questgiver ?
Abyss had you look for ressources, but there was def a sub-story where you found and freed creatures.
Yea
I don’t know if we can relive their memories like ancestors; idk if their spirits even work the same lines. We know they can form spirits from the shards and also from Abyss, and that those spirits can manifest in the world similarly to ancestor spirits, but how to free them outside of shards? Who knows.
Wondering if it’s because they’re smaller than ancestors, and so their spirits are made of less light than ancestors, so by the time we fell to help them any spirits they’d had had already been completely eaten away by petrification.
Been thinking it that red shards are ejected from eruptions with so much force that it also forces the light, and thus the spirits, out
I remember repeatedly trying to convince people this was a spirit manta (back then i was super hyperfocused on being ‘right’) and feeling so validated by the fifth quest and then later by shards, memories
Even if I was secretly annoyed by the ‘this manta is the conglomerate of the ocean light’ theory back then I have learned to appreciate it and it now lives on in my heart. RIP
Oh that was my theory
Could be both tho. Manta soup.
Proto-soup theory
Manta spirit that was incomplete and gathered leftover light from everything around it to fill in the holes.
Manta shaped soup, I can get behind that
Ive just learnt that if theres two theories available for something
Just combine them
but what about soup shaped manta?
Soup doesn’t have a shape
Not with that attitude
Pssst, read someone’s nickname before you ping them
OH, MY BAD. My brain totally skimmed that
Is there a way to turn off the auto @ on replies, and have it so its normally just "no @"
You just manually click the no @ each time, it’s not super hard. I do it on reflex at this point
I tend to type super fast without fully looking at names/skim through messages, and forget about the @, so its my bad
my bad again, I will try to be more careful

Its really exciting to see how Aurora fits into the lore this season.
I'm on the fence though if its just the memories which are lore related or if Aurora is directly related too
I don't know what island you're talking about
You know, I'd like to think that when Aurora sings in the end credits, after Eden, she is singing the Ancient language of Sky's ancestors.
Like although we type with our national language, the Skykids and Ancestors speak in whole different language that we are not familiar with.
Is Aurora (when she goes into the large god mode) part of canon?
me to! it might be gibberish humming but its the ancestor language in my heart🫶
Listen
What if days of (blank) events correspond to a festival held in the main realms while some others would be national holidays celebrated with festivals in all realms?
Nature - Prarie
Bloom - Forest
Feast -Valley
Michief - Wasteland you can argue
And others like summer lights, love, rainbow, and fortune are normal holiday events. Not saying the ones held in the realms are realm exclusive, just that the festivals of those events are heard in certain realms like seen ingame. Feast in valley, last year bloom in forest, and nature in prarie. reason I’m unsure of michief is because that area is found strictly in the office in vault, not wasteland. Vibes would fit, but wasteland wasn’t always a wasteland, it was somthing yaknow, not war ridden and torn.
Just thinking rn I think it’ll be cool if that’s how ancestors celebrate holidays, it’s never one day, it’s weeks long events so everyone can get chance. And hey it can also be simple if doesn’t have to be a grand event for the entirety it Can mellow out during the end or be chill and go out with a bang
I feel like if it was intense festival for the entirety ppl would be drained and sick of it. Maybe it would be more of street market vibes? Sets up for the event and is calm with fun event activities sprinkled in like with the fortune dragons schedule for example
Seeing how seasonal spirits are incorporated into the days of “ “ now, it seems possible!
Makes the world more lively!
What's up with the eggs in forest? Why are they made of stone? And why would they put stone eggs on a tree? Plus if they aren't stone what would you think would come out of them? Mantas? No birds are big enough to have eggs that big (and the big bird seems to be too big to lay an egg that small) but if it were a Manta egg we would surely see more mantas in the area, I don't think jellyfish irl or in game can lay eggs could be crabs but that doesn't make sense? Even if they were animal eggs they have a distinct pattern on them resembling design motifs practiced by the ancestors. My question is what creature laid them or are they fake, and if they are fake stone eggs why were they made me why were they put on a tree?
Also please do not say that you laid them
Maybe it’s their eggs #lore-discussion-spoilers message
Those eggs were an old daily quest, that's all we know
imagine if the enchantment spirits were the last of the ancestors to survive, but because of their ark crashing they… didnt
or maybe they were already not alive before, who knows
What does your last sentence mean
they were already ||dead|| before
i kinda wonder what spirits do in orbit
do they just sit there and look down on the sky world? looking at us skykids doing our thing from the stars, bringing our light everywhere and everything… or-
Seems like the simplest answer
I have a headcanon that's a bit darker though
ah, lets hear it
Megabird disassembles their souls into their personality traits and gives the best traits to skykids during rebirth without them knowing
i keep hearing megabird megabird megabird all over
who is megabird?
There must be an explanation for my "twin" Skykid OCs have a mischievous personality
but what about those with like, bad emotes, lets say hiking grouch?
like, being a grouch cant be too good of a personality trait, can it?
I'm quite sure that "grump" isn't their only personality trait
If there's no good traits to pass on then Megabird just ignores them ig
Okay, not ignore them
they just break the spirit down and reabsorb the bittles
Well, one of my OCs is quite the grump, so I don't think I'll fully say that bad personality traits are unaccounted for
again this is just a headcanon
free to use but not as an argument/evidence
I know
I'm just sharing my thoughts
we also see water at Aurora's concert in a cave in the forest instead of clouds
What was the quest tho
What are those things?
Pots and rolled up blankets
my hunger gets the best of me sometimes and whenever i see em i think of cinnamon rolls with powdered sugar smh
This is new right?? No way I never got to know about this painting lmaoo
Yeah it appeared for Season of Shattering !
To find the eggs/admire them, just like any other fetch daily quest
ponder the egg
The concept of Megabird picking and choosing is a neat idea!!
Super glad I wasn't the only one. I hadn't done Eden in so long and halfway questioned if this mural was always here

Some think she is, some think she isn’t. It’s a big debate.
So it's a bit like TLP?
Yeah
I think she’s canon but in a dream/illusion sort of way, if that helps. The same way she shows the other parts of concert to us
There was an Aurora mural in Harmony Hall all the way back in Performance
Question
If elephants are afraid of mice... who's to say that Krills aren’t irrationally afraid of something the fraction of their size

I might be remembering wrong, but wasn't a mural foreshadowing SoTLP added to the game some time before the season just like with aurora?
It was the elephant mural on top of the Starlight desert entrance, but that was nearing the announcement of the season, unlike Aurora
But still, there was a TLP-related mural before the season, yet that doesn't mean french people are canon to Sky ||unlike italians||
But the point is, the mural back in Performance might've been just foreshadowing for the collab (something that people in here actually guessed even back then during performance, somehow) although obviously Aurora could still be canon
Vela guessed it I think, absolutely genius
french people hive mind
i wonder if there's any significance as to why the spirits and skykids all wear masks
Drip
probably social status and stuff
Ash said once that animal masks designate jobs
gonna add onto it, why the skykids close their eyes when not wearing a mask :0 and why they open them when wearing one
and ooh yea that would make sense !
I thought that maybe they have laser beams for eyes?
O u i
theorycrafting wise, what did you guys come up with as to what the ||eye of eden|| actually is?
oh i wanted to drop something my friend headcanoned after the concert ! because it really got me thinkin-
"You know how in The Seed song, we saw the people fighting mantas rather than dragons? Like we’ve seen happen in the spirits memories?
What if we were seeing mantas ARE the dragons, corrupted by whatever had come from that red crystal? And when we were butterflies, we could see the dragons for what they truly were??? 😭"
I feel like I’ve heard this theory long long ago, but the added butterfly aspect makes me sad😭
when she sent that to me i was like 😭 omg you're RIGHT what if that was the case-
Then how did the mantas become dark creatures? Could it have to do with the fact that they were trying to use mantas for other purposes?
well she said maybe it was something that corrupted them from the crystal/red shards but possibly
Mantas had the light sucked out of them to make power diamonds so dark dragons could be the amalgamations of whatever was left of them
oh my god
i'll bring that up to her
The dragons are so big too (compared to most mantas) so I’m thinking it’s either made of multiple? Or there’s just a bunch of waste accumulated. Kind of like how wasteland is full of….waste
that's a pretty popular theory for what the dark dragons are yeah
i wonder if in the sky movie(?) we'll get an answer or a hint or somethin
Ah sorry. I guess I’m not as up to date on the lore. I did however just look at the Dark Dragon poem from shattering that I think is interesting, although I have a feeling that was already talked about

first thing that comes to mind for the waste theory is that river trash spirit from Spirited Away lol
I recently pondered on the last portion of the Forgotten Ark murals, where the Ark and its escort boats were tipped of by the storm.
WHat if that storm was one of the event cause by the Shattering and what if we saw that in The Seed portion of the concert?
I also wondered if the fighting we witness as butterfly during The Seed were neither a war (civil war, as many liked in the 2 Shields Theory) nor a defence against krills in the first part.
What we witnessed was just the chaos... the spreading of mass panic, everyone was running for their life, but that sadly rapidly changed into a riot and skirmish (as we can say it happens a lot IRL when many pacific protests evolve into violent actions for whatever reason)
The panic maybe was so widespread that not only people tried to enter the GW Gate (which maybe wasn't attended by Dusk, caught/injured in the Red Power Diamond shattering) but also the light creatures felt the danger and acted as a horde pressing at the gates. Nobody had idea of what was happening or what to do, their survival instinct kicked in, that's why we see spears and weapons used in a very confusing way (not a clear front of fight between 2 factions) and even used against mantas (pretty sure I saw one of them with 3+ spear hits)
Maybe in the end even us, in the shoes of butteflies, were only frantically heading towars Eden, sadly unaware it was the main source of all his storm cataclysm and shards landing from any direction
Later on maybe the Seed Spirit reached the field and tried to rescue as many lives as possible (pointing out of not being "part" of a faction, bcs maybe there ware none), But sadly the aftermath of this chaose was that the area got infested by krills, which made the rescues we seee in the Seed of Hope Spirit further risking their live
That's a really super neat idea, thank you for sharing!!
I've been spending a lot of time looking over the arc and trying to make sense of it all in my own head for a big picture, but this is an extremely insightful idea.
It makes sense. I mean, if Eden was the last place for anyone to go to ascend(what all the ancestors want to do during the end of their time) then rushing the gates to the vault would be a perfect reason for panic. If the world was falling a part and I wanted to try to escape the doom, it would be the one place I know I want to go.
Eden.
And without knowing that Eden was the one to explode and have issues, then to have the GW rampart closed would be terrifying.
This is a really freaking cool idea!!
my friend that said that thing about the dragons being mantas, she just sent to me the reason they go after other mantas/us is because they're zombies of the mantas that had their light taken to fuel the diamond at eden (like luka said) and they're trying to get their light back-
ohh my god
I personally believe they were always this way, just not corrupted as they currently are, and were originally from under the sea, but due to pollution they migrated to above the ocean floor. I do think dark creatures charge at and eat light as a desperate attempt to “cure” themselves, but I think the difference between a natural dragon and it’s corrupted form would be the same between a corrupted crab (the ones at wasteland) and docile ones (the ones at Office and at Sanctuary archipelago)
there's a manta underwater creature in Eden/Sanctuary/Forest
Maybe that's related to the krill king in Abyss
The manta underwater creature makes mantas and the underwater king krill makes krill
we did see a (non corrupted?) krill during days of mischief, so maybe that's what they look like when not tainted by darkness?
If the elders wore capes like us when they were alive...
would Sah
and Mekh's
Parent have a cape that’s half blue and half red or just a really rich purple/violet?
I don't think Elders have parents in the traditional sense. I mean, we don't even know how parenting works for regular spirits, but in the case of elders it has been said that they were elders from the start, and not ancestors or sky kids that grew up
But in a headcanon or fanfic? It's up to you really
If i were to hypothetically draw their parent/predecessor tho?
i wonder; are skykids and the spirits different or are spirits grown up skykids ? and how come they look so different from each other? and, were the skykids summoned from somewhere else to help with saving everyone trapped in eden ?
There's new implications that the ancestor spirits are our ancestors, so we descend from them somehow.
oooh
ohh that's a good theory
another thought... what could possibly be responsible for the giant ribcages in the golden wasteland's graveyard area?
Also, cape colors aren’t genetic
Also keep in mind that the ancestors could have ‘adopted’ us as their own, treating us like the new generation. It doesn’t have to be a direct biological descendant relationship, and to be honest I think the more symbolic version makes more sense, considering everyone was dead long before we returned.
decayed corpses of a large, extinct creature
at first i was thinking a whale, but then that wouldn't make sense given wasteland's locale......unless wasteland was different way back when ?
it couldn't have always been a wasteland
yeah..what could it have been before?
We don’t know, but I like to think it was a prairie!
Since we don't have a water realm, I like to think it was a thriving oceanic place :3
like similar to the treasure reef? :0
the Wasteland wasn't always a wasteland
Speaking of water realm, spoilery question
Due to concept art I've viewed it as some sort of downtown to ye Olde Valley
this is the channel for spoilers, unless they're beta spoilers in which case you can't talk about beta here
Another option I’ve seen floated that I’ve really liked is a saltwater marsh, especially in the first area ^^
Is it ok if I post a screenshot? It involves the finished quest in treasure reef. Does not include beta
Can I get eaten by this thing again?
nope!
Awesome thank you, I'm gonna go bug it now
I choose to believe it is a prairie for the
sibling dynamic
you get it
explain what this is
The fifth abyss quest will tell you ^^
oh that's Gary don't mind them
you mean Jorm
lad of many names
in vault of knowledge to gain access to one of the levels you have to jump on top of a large galaxy creature to get the light things, maybe its one of those?🤔
I think it used to be a shrine/ceremonial area constructed late into the kingdom's lifespan, but a terrible mistake caused it to be overwhelmed by darkness
ah thats interesting
Notably, in the Switch Trailer, Eden is just a beam of light and nothing else
interesting to note that in neither the Switch release trailer nor the animation project teaser do we ever see a close-up of Eden, only the mountain from the distance. still, their is no castle in either view
i wish things were a bit more clarified as seasons went on but i guess the ambiguity is the beauty of it
Seasons give lots of clarification, but not about Eden
I think Shattering gave a fair bit of clarification about Eden. Not specifically what it was before, but I have ideas on that
In my latest Eden run I had the thought that the castle in Orbit used to be the place where the realms were connected. Like we have home island, but old era has Eden Castle 🏯
turtle lore.
go.
Turtles are an order of reptiles known as Testudines, characterized by a special shell developed mainly from their ribs. Modern turtles are divided into two major groups, the Pleurodira (side necked turtles) and Cryptodira (hidden necked turtles), which differ in the way the head retracts. There are 360 living and recently extinct species of turtles, including land-dwelling tortoises and freshwater terrapins. They are found on most continents, some islands and, in the case of sea turtles, much of the ocean. Like other amniotes (reptiles, birds, and mammals) they breathe air and do not lay eggs underwater, although many species live in or around water.
Fantastic. You never disappoint my guy.
I love testudines. Like this post if you want to form a testudo with your bros

Question: Why do the birds in sky deify the laws of physics?
Answer: THEY AREN'T BIRDS.
when i was mothier i thought they were paper planes
Thats actually what they are.
Just like the butterflies, the Isle Elder folded them into existence.
probably because they're old and has nothing better to do
Well I mean
If I was on my own, I would make things to keep me company
"ah yes, it does appear i am dead. i guess the only thing im good for is b i r b."
At leeaast the prairie elder thought ahead.
spherical ayin
end quote
i keep forgetting the names of the elders
i only remember tsadi
"i have no idea why but im a sphere with legs now, please help"
Not sure what sort of spoilery rules we have 'round these parts...
||Those small dark dragons/krill people are fighting in the AURORA quest spirit in the Wastelands... Is that a thing already? Have there already been roughly-adult-person-sized krill?||
One of the abyss spirits memory's featured a small krill
Hello!
I have a theory that, in the seasons, we’re simply replacing a spirit in the memories, specifically, the guide.
The only exception to this being all the early seasons, since they dont include quests, and Enchantment + Sanctuary since they are ‘fetching’ quests, and not really reliving the memory of the guide. (Along with Shattering, since it focuses on revealing how things went downhill, and Aurora, since the missions focus on the spirits memories, not the guides).
It would make sense if we were simply replacing the guide in almost all of the seasons, since we access the memory from them in the first place. Secondly, the memories seem to be set in the past, given that everyone in the memories are spirits.
It also explains why we cant change anything in the story, no matter how much times we mess up with the reliving. The story remains the same because its a memory.
So, what do we do when we help the guide with their missions, if its all just a memory? I think we console the guide before they head on to the stars.
(Them staying there after the missions is just for gameplay, i guess)
Interestingly, the season of Prophecy seems to take place in the both the past and present of sky.
Prophecy both shows us the memory of the guide in the past and us at the present beating the trials. But at the same time, I suppose Prophecy is also a fetching quest, so I’m probably overthinking this.
I think that the season of The Little Prince takes place in the present time, as he interacts with us more like we’re there with him (letting us guide him, etc). Plus, he’s looking for the guide itself, so we cant be replacing it.
TLDR; Most of the season quests are just us helping the guide accept/relive their memories before they pass on.
Thanks for reading! Very sorry about the long text though

On second thought, ive just realized how obvious this is i mean it’s literally called reliving
I once honestly thought that "reliving" was actually "relieving" so I thought the spirit memories had a completely different implication
Something along the lines of "relieving the pain of the past" or "releasing the spirit from being trapped below the sky"
I believe something similar but in most cases it's helping all the seasonal spirits, not just the guide
I believe that most seasons have a "Last Wish" shared by the spirits, representing something they were supposed to do when they were alive, but died before they could. The goal of the player is to help fulfill the "Last Wish" so that they'd be ready to ascend.
it's tsadi Tuesday;
woohoo tsadi tuesday
I'm not sure
ok sooo question do the kids worship the ancestors causee why is there shrines
You can make a shrine to someone that died.
It’s quite common in a lot of places too
I think the part of the Aurora concert where we play a manta may unravel on a part of the flying (or sliding) race, thinking about that part where we come out of an arch before the vista at the very end
What are the Shadow Dragons, the "Krills" ?
They have a mechanical sound, a blue spotlight on the head that turn red when they see light creatures
We can only see them on wasteland, where there's many links to battle, weapons, war, and ||the eye||, where something catastrophic happened.
The krills don't look like natural creatures, I think they have been made by someone or something.
What if the krills were weapons ?
As I said before, we only see them on places we're something bad happened, and in a world of light creature, what could looks more as a nuke than a "Shadow Dragon" ?
I really wish krills were machines, it would be awesome. Unfortunately they’re confirmed corrupted light creatures. 💔
Any proof of that ? Confirmed from tgc ?
yeah hold on let me grab the image
wait confirmed??
does that mean that the theory with "the seed" turning us into butterflies and seeing mantas instead of dragons somewhat prove that dragons are corrupt mantas?

From the interview linked here. ^^
They don't sait they are corrupted creatures
They only sait they are corrupted
It can be corrupted mech built first as weapons, making sense that the krill sound are called "dusk"
Good point, they could be corrupted something-else, although given how Sky works I think it’s much likelier for them to be corrupted light creatures. We know a similar thing happened to crabs, and they were likely not machines beforehand, so it makes the most logical sense that something similar happened to krill — especially as there are quite a few creatures that resemble krill
(also bringing back what we see in "the seed" from the aurora concert, how we see mantas being fought and not dragons, which seemed very odd)
I don’t think we can talk about sound files here, if I’m interpreting this correctly, but the reason the krill sound is titled Dusk is because they’re from Wasteland and that realm is called Dusk in concepts (and likely carried over to files)
