ah! That would make sense
The first song goes into how Megabird was these things that were destroyed (ice that melts, tree that falls). Runaway kinda sounds like someone desperate. Other than queendom come, a lot of these sound like sad ones
i think that’s more about the world of sky dying before? idunno
actually it was @rigid mural who had the idea that winged light manifests whenever a skykid feels a strong emotion or has a poignant experience. I've sorta been dabbling in that idea myself, but I primarily hold the desire path theory. I think winged light appear where many skykids have passed. this could become more likely when multiple skykids experience something poignant in the same area, which some places can inspire like on the rock leading to Isle Elder's temple
is this egg theory
OHHH SORRY FOR THE CONFUSION FOR SOME REASON I THOUGHT THEY WERE THE SAME IDEA INSTEAD OF TWO SEPARATE ONES 💔
prob cos we bantered off each other when discussing winged light
i need to read the egg by andy weir still actually
i can link you to a really good video reading of it if you want
I don’t know how I think WL work yet. The name lost memories is a clue, but what are they the lost memories of? why are they child shaped and why do they make us stronger
though thinking of the "lost memories" quip – I still think it refers to spirit memories, however it could also be winged light if winged light maintains some inkling of memory from the event that caused it to manifest. for instance, in my ficverse, that winged light perched on the ruined boat after the isle intro cave gives newborn moths the instinct of flight, hence how they're able to fly but not a guarantee they;ll be good at it.
i think to me there's a theme of carrying [the memories of] others with you on the skykid's journey mostly about spirits and elders but this could be a more direct extension of that
Nice to know someone else has those ideas too, about the WL. Thank you for sharing! I considered the idea of the WL being an important moment in their life that may have been the end of that sky Kids journey for whatever reason.
this makes the one on top of the first cave sweet because it could be like "woo i made it up here" strong memory becomes winged light
been toying with the idea that our first run through the game isn't actually our skykid's first life/incarnation and wl could be our own lost memories but i haven't put too much thought into shoring that up into a solid headcanon
I get thinking it refers to spirit memories, but given that it’s stated as we see WL for the first time and the actual wording is “seek lost memories to gather winged light,” I think it’s safe to say that the kid shape itself is the lost memory
for what its worth we do lose all our winged light when we rebirth so that could qualify them as lost but im still not sure why they're memories
I only think they're memories because we see one in the Running Wayfarer. I suggest it being a memory of importance because the sky kid in the memory helped them take to the sky.
I've heard of concept arts where the elders were named, but I've never seen them, where can they be found?
Elder Names by Alasdair#8513
The Elders (plus the king & prince) have names based off Hebrew letters from concept development that are no longer canon, though the fandom sometimes refers to them as such:
Isle – Daleth (ד)
Prairie – Ayin (ע)
Forest – Teth (ט)
Valley – Samekh (ס) (they share a name, though the fandom refers toas Sah and
as Mekh)
Wasteland – Tsadi (צ)
Vault – Lamed (ל)
Prince – Alef (א)
King – Resh (ר)Though it seems the devs refer to the Elders by the times of day their realms represent:
Isle – Dawn
Prairie – Day
Forest – Rain
Valley – Sunset
Wasteland – Dusk
Vault – Night
Eden – Storm
so, are we a descendant of the prince or are we butterflies turned into sky kids by the queen, herself, Aurora since the light was fading and we were flying to her (sounds dumb but I wanna know)
Ooo hebrew
And if you hear Megabird called Megan, know that one just orriginated from a typo
This is the most interesting lore I’ve ever read 😭
I cannot read any of that but it looks like concept art
Hi chat! been having trouble looking so im asking here ehe. Does anyone have links to the wasteland concept art? Any content helps!
not so confident about this theory, but im sure anyone could of thought about this.
i feel as if my theory could be as applicable as it can be, so i hope you guys kind of understand what im trying to say hehe.
these collectable, kind of motionless, but powerful energy know as the wingles (winged lights) are all scattered or placed purposefully (i think it is) in each realms including the sub level/areas. they are important (we all know it.) for buffing purposes or an additional level indication of, well, buffs. a kingdom will always have a ruler above everything. anyone can say the elders we have in each realm are the rulers, but i theorize that besides having six elders, there is one specific realm that once had but now demised matriarch. this is the connection, the wingles that we’re collecting are the left traces/marks of ||the king|| before what ever happened. it kind of makes sense to me that these wingles seems to portray interest, wonder, interaction and growth as we further into the kingdom with each realms. spoiler: i wanted to touch upon the lore in season of prophecy. the season is ||based interaction with trials of different elements that are present in the kingdom. why was it now so important to have conductivity with trials? the only main purpose of trials is to challenge individuals to seek sustainability without having any doubts, harm, etc. this leads to this believing that who ever can make/finish to the end without a scratch is the chosen or best fit to rule the kingdom. should would know why they needed a ruler, perhaps. but if u havent noticed, there is 1 wingle in each of the trial. ||and there would be even more wingles furthering into the kingdom after. seems kind of lost here, but to summarize, in my theoretical sense, the wingles are ||the king.|| EDEN SPOILERS: ||even the corridor before entering the storm had wingles that were instead of standing, sitting. this can be the last mark of the chosen (king) in the phase of settlement. eden, for me, will always resemble a tarnished castle, even after flying before heading into orbit. ||thats it, i have nothing else to say!
Tomzhao.com has loads of amazing concept art of sky
Does anyone know how the quest in Lightseekers happened?
Not sure what you mean exactly, Lightseekers had no quest line, it only added the light catching quest to the daily quest rotation. Guide quest lines began with Enchantment (5th season)
Ok thanks!
why they love aurora so much? lol
Hi everyone! random question that my friend and I were discussing, but are there any theories as to why mantas were being captured? It seemed kinda at random. Before the spirits were partying it out with the jellyfish and next theyre capturing mantas
The kingdom have technology advancement with a kind of power stone, but it require light to work. The bigger the stone, the more energy it needed. The people used to harvest light farm (ex: laughing spirit from prairie) but then they start to hunt light creature for more energy.
Or if you ask about the concert show then it possibly been hunted for racing purpose
This is a wonderful concept! We were just talking about how WL might be monumental moments and important memories due to their location
You can also notice mantas coming out of the walls in the post Forest Elder cutscene
m a n t a j u i c e r
to add on, Forest Temple is considered a diamond factory
the poor mantas 😔 💔
wait so then all the creatures behind the temple have their light taken?
Well, about to, but seeing the status of the realm... who knows how long the mantas have been waiting for freedom..?
I've just discover that those star waterfall in vault charge your wing. And i have played for more than 1 year lol
Wait WHAT.
lol I've been playing since sanct and didnt know either 🫠
Yeah i suddenly found this 10 minutes ago, feeling like manually climb the stone stairs and discover that this place does have star water lol
Vault is even weirder at this point
Purple light shenanigans 🎉
i didn't even know vault has snow, i thought that was sand
I think it changed after the update
it is now tsadi tuesday
TSADI TUESDAYYY
Btw does anyone have a clear image of Daleth? I wanna give them a santa hat for Daleth December 🧡
pretty sure this was added like last update because I remember screwing around with those a while ago while taking screenshots and they didn’t charge my wing or anything
does anyone have concept art for the timeline/era of spirits? like how the abyss spirits would have happen after the shattering of the eden
Timelines regarding seasons is mysterious info
it’s just that i had seen someone drawn one but that was months ago, i was hoping they would see this
@river crystal try this?
Hello I have a peculiar request..
Can someone tell me if any spirit (seasonal and non) is interested in physics or math related subjects?
I know sparkler parent and thoughtful director have had hints about loving math but the TS hints may or may not be canon
Also! I hope everyone's having an amazing Tsadi Tuesday
Wait wait wait what are star waterfall in vault? I didn’t kno there are waterfalls in vault?
ME, I love math!
(I suppose Talented Builder and Slumbering Shipwright? Architecture involved that sort of stuff. For more esoteric science stuff, maybe the magic-related spirits like the Enchantment and Prophecy spirits.)
I think in the 4th floor of Vault
Thank youuu!
War involves quite a lot of strategy, so you could look to Wasteland. And of course the Vault spirits (not including season of the little prince) are the smartest
Soo, we have the warmongering commanders giving orders and being safe in vault, while the soldiers are being annihilated by the darkness
Where did you get that from?
I just kinda theorize based on the things i saw on the concert lmao
(Forget about the part where i say "warmongering")
me hi
didn’t see anyone mention them yet but probably geographer as well! I think they have some protractors lying around on their island
Like the vault summit?
No, where you first see cosmic mantas
The summit is the 6th floor, the fourth floor is a biggest floor it's the one where the cosmantas first appear.
Where’s the waterfall then? Exact location?
Here are some screenshots
For context I'm standing on the community light island in the second picture
the watefall was added with the social light update
Ahh ic. No wonder I haven’t seen that before
I have a theory extending from my goggles observation that Backflip passed to WarrLo
On the murals from Warrior of Love quest so far I can see 4 figures which mighg have been mantallians (manta-racers)
Besides those 4, there is a 5th one, which has no particular silhouette, compared to the forementioned
i have decided that from now on i'll see Alef-Resh as this figure (ignore the head underneath im working on some art
)
It's a tiny figure, but I don't think that's a sky kid, cause it seems to ride the mantas like the other 4 bulky figures
I thought that those 4 could be wearing the same shoulder pads as any of the warriors/soldiers like figure in Sky, and that headress could be a sign of the mask that usually soldiers wear in GW
So the 5th one could be Warrior Of Love themselves, and thus raise a question: who are the 4 mantallians?
Slim is Warrior of Love, ok, meaning that we know only 3 racers, Backflip, Red Cape and Manta Call Whisperer
Since these 3 spirits don't look all like bulky figures, it could be that, despite their different size, any kind of soldiers, slim or tough, could enroll as racer, and that's not for granted the 4th must be a bulky one (pretty much like the aformentioned whisperer)
My idea is that the only other ancestor with a distinctive element to be a flying racer could be Lively Navigator, from SoFlight, which indeed has already the goggles on them. And they aree supposed to be expert at flying in order to be able to direct all the boat drivers as we saw in their memory!
Bowing Medalist, Peeking Postman
peek swag 💪
they were def the sky equivalent of a paper boy who tosses newspapers from a bicycle (except they have a manta)
My favorite is Lively Navigator, as mentioned, but in case either Bowing Medalist or Peeking Postman was a mantallian, then guess I guess Lively Navigator could also be a perfect candidate as the sport speaker (I hope I chose the fitting words, the kind of guy who describes a race to the spectator), making a lively commentaries with detailed technical terms
So I'm in gw with my friend and i decided to get on top of the big statue on top of the temple and there's a big cannon looking thing and i noticed that the pipes all around gw go into this thing
I'm guessing the pipes fed the light from the creatures to these turrets to power them up
belatedly yeah the procession appears to be that light is needed for society for myriad things and at some point the need became significantly greater than what was naturally available
either because less light existed than before, or because people were using too much
you can see mantas being used as part of more elaborate machines more explicitly in the abyss area in the larger ships
what do YOU think?
What do WE think of you?
I wonder… Aurora is clearly here, given she talks, but what if the concert took all her power. Expending all the energy to bring us into her personal world and transform us into various creatures, eventually turning into a huge version of herself at the end of Through the Eyes of a Child through to Queendom. She may not have enough energy left to fully manifest, but she wanted to thank us for coming, for understanding what she had to show us
don’t mind the recording mark lol
Oh, that's a nice observation! I have an AURORA theory that the spirits were the ones who spent their lifetimes making AURORA's light stronger so She could manifest and do all those things She did in the concert!
what if aurora is a messenger like an angel of sorts preparing us for what is to come? maybe she was sent down to us from whoever sent us here
also have we figured out who sent us here?
i am very behind
Aurora seems more of a messenger of the past, not the future
True
also she could be the very thing that created life as seen in the first memory (song).
also what if she was created with a twin of equal power but with a darker force? since it seems that dark plants have infested the realm of sky since the beginning as seen in the first memory (song)
||as i said im very behind on lore so i dont know whats happening or conclusions you guys have come up with||
true, like, prophets/monks, and, also their "deadtimes!" cause, if you see, their memories are also for transmissing aurora's message, therefor, makking person quote unquote "beileve" in her, giving her enough power for the concert
I was today years old when i realized that the Isle mask looks like a boat...
and its been on my face since my moth days
😮
…I also did not pick up on that until just now.
Prairie Elder’s looks like the butterflies jar as well. Also, Forest Elder’s is shaped like a diamond, like the one they fix on their cutscene
Prairie's is a Jar
and Forest's is the diamond thingy that powers everything
I found this mural in the hidden forest (is this lore or just a random mural?)
gw its like a kind of warrior-ish mask, and vault its like an inscription or smt
Yeah, my idea is something like that!
ye i think the wasteland mask is the whales face like the shattering memory
and the vault? idk
vault its like a kind of book-ish thingy
so to resume, it is like each elder's mask represents the "most important" of their respective realm
Isle: boats
Prairie: butterfly jars
Forest: power source
Valley: competition
Wasteland: (whales maybe) protection
Vault: knowledge ||lol||
we still don't have the other two Aurora spirit cards
also what's the valley mask
Spirit cards?
Boat girl said the masks from valley represent a different race
1 is flight race
2 is slide race
I might’ve mixed the masks idk I have to figure out which race they belong to
it's interesting because valley is the only realm where the masks don't match the elders (I think)
maybe bc of this theory that they were one elder, but then they splited up in the twins, therefor, none of them have the mask, cause maybe it splited with them, like, it broke in a half
Makes you wonder what they actually looked like…
Also what if they broke their mask in a race since valley seems to be the main realm for entertainment like seasons
at the start of their cutscene, you can see they appear like overlaped, and they hairstyle complements with eachother, maybe that is how they used to look when they were wone, and yes, maybe it happened like waht happened during theyr cutscene, that they send our flame to the nasa XD
My husband had a theory with the concert and finally, today, after many a times going through the concert I understand it.
After his first time, he brought up the idea of a world above and below the clouds and now I get it. GW is the land below the clouds that was left to rot.
It only clicked because I realized why it's always snowing in Triumph(as a theorymy edit was to correct the wrong name for valley I used). That the land is so atmospherically high it can't NOT snow.
I wonder if the first group of travelers we see at the beginning of the concert were the first spirits to traverse this far on their planet. Sand is already taking over Isle, so perhaps they traveled such a long distance from an already decaying world and found the land of Sky with the help of the sky kid on the precipice. They had no where else to go except to the sky.

It's actually snow I think not sand. Way too white and not shiny like the sand in present Isle.
Yes! The full runthrough
Isle - boat
Prairie - pot
Forest - darkstone diamond
Valley - simple athletic masks, don’t resemble anything
Wasteland - whale
Vault - scholar headdress, could be based off the shape of memory lanterns as well
It might be a mix. I'm still a little unsure on my beliefs of snow or sand. Mostly because they're not bundled up like they traveled in snow. So I think they traveled over dead land, which has now spread to Dawn.
Or maybe it is snow, where the glaciers were before they melted. Much to ponder. Oop. Looks like I gotta watch again. Oh darn

I’m p sure it’s snow bc of the crunch when you step on it. As Canadian I can testify that’s exactly what it sounds like
I once thought the Valley snow was sand and the ice was glass
But there isn't any crunch on Isle of Dawn in the concert 🥲
(And I too, enjoy snow. Spent many a time in Japan for snowboarding
)
that is the other thing, they have ICE, and literal ICE RINKS, and there is a literal ICE SKATER, so :/
and atleast in the village of dreams there is (i think) the animation of snow, and, there is a literal YET so :/
Wait. I think we're discussing two different things, friend.
I was discussing two different theories. One about Isle of Dawn and the other about Valley of Triumph
oh i got lost XD 🥲 sorry
I’m talking about valley not isle
I've been talking about Isle of Dawn with the encroaching sand with the travelers and I believe there may have been some confusing that some thought I was referring to Valley.
Welp I’m dumb
Oh, no no.
Text can be easy to get mixed up. What I said may have been confusing.

NO IT CANT BE
WAIT ITS ACTUALLY TRUE
it really can be idk what to tell you
lmao?
Valley mask is most likely analogous to maskless or just a basic athletic mask. Unlike the others, we don’t really get a replica of it from a spirit, the closest is proud victor who is maskless
Their powers are stored in the hair instead
maybe not hair but their mask
Weird thing is wasteland, eden, and prairies island thingy all have whales. Idk if they are like gods for the wild animals or not but uh yk 💃🕺🏻 not just wasteland
So another connected fun fact is that each elder has a specific creature that their hair & sometimes general theme is based off of. For example, Dawn (Isle) guides birds & their beard is based off a bird’s folded wings. Dusk’s (wasteland) is the whale (& krill which is also important in a devastating way but I can get into that later).
The one time where we interact with a whale & it actually does something other than just flying away is in Orbit, where it destroys something so we can fly through. Maybe whales have associations with protectors which is why Dusk’s mask has one
Their masks for sure not maskless cause if you look at them they have a weird horn looking thing on the top. Ive only seen it on the male bc who isn’t looking at him 🕳👄🕳
So there’s a reason I said they’re analogous to being maskless. I was referencing the masks we can get from spirits. In Sky, each realm is theorized to have a basegame (non seasonal) spirit who has a mask & personality connected to their elder. I can explain this in a bit if you’d like. The three options for Valley are Bowing Medalist, Backflipping Champion, & Proud Victor. Backflip and Medalist are both war masks based off whales in the same way as Dusk’s and Fainting Warriors, so that leaves Victor, who gives us the maskless cosmetic
I dont do much lore thinking cause i aint good at connecting the dots for anything but the whales remind me of those big dragons in how to train your dragon 😭 cause one in abyss area is HUGE and has red eyes and kinda attacks us. The white one in eden like you said broke a building so we can fly through. But i dont get that. When your in orbit and hit one of the rocks circling around they actually brake. So its pointless that it helped us
Okie 🕳️👄🕳️ i like reading lore theories so if your ok with it you can explain the mask stuff
Oh my god I can't believe I never noticed Dawn's beard looked like folded wings
Now that I think about it tho, I think Rain's hair kinda looks like a jellyfish sorta, and Sunset's Dora hair kinda looks like manta wings tho that might be a bit of a stretch
day is a butterfly iirc and I think vaults is supposed to be an ancestor? someone said that to me once it mightve been salem
it does yes! you’ve gotten them right so far!
dawn - folded bird wings
day - butterfly wings
rain - jellyfish
sunset - manta
& (possibly) darkstone crystal cluster
dusk - krill
night - ancestor (like the hooded shawls ancestors have)
An interesting part is that this pattern is repeated in orbit; this is roughly the order every creature shows up as you fly upwards. It’s not perfectly exact, as they mingle a lot, but in terms of first appearances it holds true. Especially with ancestors at the end. If you carry it through, that means Eden’s connection would be skykids :3
I'm so good at Videogames (remembering a single thing someone told me once)
you are so right
and Leon was it you who said that Eden represented the next generation in the life stages theory? I rotate that around in my mind a lot
Dusk’s is krills specifically while their mask is based off a whale fun fact, making them the only one partially a dark creature,..
i think that was Leon! I have placed it in my mental library also cause it’s a really cool observation, especially with how the roles have changed with us becoming the low on light and almost dead one and having to seek light when we previously brought our light to the elders before
sah darkstones strongest warrior
Yes it was me! and I also believe dawn represents the exact same thing too but from the opposite perspective (in Eden you're dying, in Isle you're a newborn)
Joining the anti darkstone war on the side of darkstone
Unfun fact: this might be a metaphor for PTSD
I never thought about this, but it makes a lot of sense
if I had a dollar for every time tsadi did not have a good thing I'd be rich
saving this i love this so much
anyone have the time to inform me on the ingame lore or fanmade lore from start to eden? im REALLY curious...
Ready
There needs to be a drawing of me just chucking this comprehensive document at lore moths
https://docs.google.com/document/d/12XSkaMV_5UYG-an_Qo37ItyKP6GaqBBA6iRqBVE2qck/edit
A note that this only included content that is very canon, and because Eden is a lot more speculative, it’s not as focused on.
@vocal notch
so if you’re saying that Eden’s creature is skykids, would that potentially mean that moth cosmetics are/resemble Eden elder cosmetics
Yeah, good connection! I don’t know what else skykid hair would look like, honestly
also, if dusk’s hair is meant to resemble a krill, and how that could be a metaphor for PTSD, it ties into the light = memories concept in a sad, yet interesting way.
(this is venturing a bit into hc territory since I like to think that skykids shape their light to show cosmetics)
Gonna explain the metaphor for PTSD part real quick just in case
Whale personality traits: protectors, guardians, defenders
Krill personaloty traits: attacking everything they perceive as a threat because they’re sick
I think that’s all I need to explain cause the metaphor is pretty obvious
Technically not a drawing but it's the best I could come up with at the moment
Tbh I wish I had that patience to keep introducing new moths to the lore like that
Lol this is the first time i read the document xd
ough. my secret emotions
secret bones and secret emotions...
so, to resume, if i understand correctly (wich at this point, i doubt a lot) you are saying that, the methapor would be that dusk like kind of has both personalities?
so I just watched the concert again to look for bits of lore I missed in all the emotion the first time… and I’m noticing it appears that the soldiers are attacking creatures of light in The Seed. so was the war a war between the people of Sky and the Light? or perhaps those who supported harmony and symbiosis with the Light vs those who supported the unjust harvesting of it due to greed? could it have been a civil war of sorts, with the King leading a trained military against a smaller civilian militia or something of the like? what are you all’s thoughts?
Maybe, bc lets remember that in a psrt there is a dude with a dying manta. And it looks like he is sad for the manta, so :/
I read this one fic that describes valley elders hairs meant to resemble their realm.
for their hills and
is for land
I still think it's due to the fact that the civilization needed way more light than the world could sustainably provide, leading to a war of two factions trying to save their people.
there were too much demand for darkstone but it had such a drain on the ecosystem that it couldn’t reasonably be sustained. two factions fighting, but neither can really win
Why are the elders so huge and the Sky kids so small?
I was wondering about this too. Where were all the spears coming from? I saw one krill but a lot of spears and a lot of dead ppl
When I first got this game in august of 2019, Apple reviewed it as potential game of the year. They said it was about the progression from childhood to death. Birth being Dawn, childhood being prairie and so on, each portal representing a different stage of life. Now the game appears to be soaked in misery and pain. Why?
Based information from concert and next season is possible civil war happened? Between spirit that hunt light creatures and onther try to protect?
perhaps it is our ancestors who hunted the creatures, not us, the Skykids directly
This talks all about positivity and sharing and warmth but I feel like the game is now filled with a bloody violent history that has put a dark shadow over playtime. I remember learning the dropping dead/sleeping emote and how disrespectful it felt to watch a soldier die and then to mock it by doing a silly falling down and zzzzzz’s
Pls don’t get me wrong. I love this game. I play it at least twice every day because I play beta and live. I’m just so confused by all of the conflicting information that actually comes from TGC itself. Not lore speculation.
Do you think TGC is getting worse at hiding the dark side of Sky? Sky's rating is supposed to be kept low so people of many ages can play so a lot of the darker parts are hidden in unspoken lore but I suppose TGC is hiding it less now
aint this what a lotta people asking for tho? a view on sky's dark history
Worse at hiding, or deliberately making the choice to show it? The game has had elements and remnants of war, pollution, greed, and sadness in it since the launch. Fantasy worlds that only have positivity and not the full range of emotions can feel artificial and fake.
Sky has dark elements, but there's always a light of hope that it continuously emphasizes. I think that's an important lesson that all ages should learn. That no matter the history, we can always strive to heal what's broken, and become better than our darker selves, both as a person and the whole of humanity.
Do you think it was their intention to reveal it gradually?
Also, if they're showing both sides now, would it be better if it was more upfront in advertising?
I can't say for certain, but I could see it as a deliberate intention. You don't release a story with all your cards on the table, if you want people to keep coming back. If Sky had released every single ounce of it's story at launch, I think people would play it once, maybe a few times at most, and then most would never bother to pick it up again. It's the mysteries of stories that keeps us turning the page, wanting to know more about the world and what could happen next.
Since Sky is a live game with many updates, I'd feel confident in guessing that they planned to slowly elaborate on the world as time passes to keep player interest.
I get that. I mean specifically, if Sky is going into its darker ages now, should TGC advertise that the game is kinda dark?
Also per your second point, they have started showing more of the "darker" side of things in advertising. Such as the season trailer for shattering, the PS4 trailer showing moths dying in Eden, etcetera...
But even though there is a darkness, Sky isn't a dark game. It's just multi-faceted, and ultimately I think it strives to be a hopeful game. That even despite darkness and pain and mistakes of the past, there's always hope and companionship to find.
Also, if I remember right, Sky is tagged with "Mild horror" on the app store and has been for years now.
Those Krill are scary!
Ohh!
I can't help but think that at any moment Sky's rating could change to 10+ because it decided to try something real big
We'll see!
I think whatever happens, you can remain confident that no matter what sort of darkness is in Sky, I don't think it will ever become a "dark" game.
Instead the history and the world just becomes richer, and moments of warmth and hope become more meaningful because they have the contrast of the "dark" to make them shine brighter.
Aurora season (2022): shows war and people brutally getting killed
Sky in 2030 be like: able to see the wasteland war and participate in the past war
/j
I think warcrimes would make this game a T in the ratings
fr, but it would also feed us with tons of juicy lores
I'm not sure about showing war crimes, but participating... hoo boy fhdhfshf
Idk if we even have the Geneva convention in sky lol :v
Seeing the war live in front of our eyes is just something else
I always thought the war in wasteland was fought between krills and ancestors. I got suprised when the ancestors fought against each other
Just wait for Sky VR edition
It can be the most beautiful experience in your life and the most traumatizing experience
Maybe they're all just fighting to survive
I’m convinced the reason Ancestors fight each other is the same reason why Humans fight each other
Oh ok, basically anything
I want it for the concert
I don't want it because krills
Oh was it we are one & I am two? I love that fic a lot too, and its writer! but what I mentioned is theorized, not headcanoned stuff ^^
I think that's because we play children ngl. Children get that something is bad but not how crushingly so.
That and just... that kind of dark humor could be used to cope.
Btw I think that in the recent Reddit QnA, they said darker seasons are to come, I think they genuinely want to show the heavier side of the story !
I mean, every adult is dead, they’re literally ancestor spirits. We walk through the ruins of an ancient destroyed civilization on a daily basis. I’m not sure why you expected the story of its fall to be a happy one
If I wasn’t unwilling to leave the bed atm I’d draw my idea for a darker themed season and then drop it at the suggestions channel for it to never be looked at
Mainly because I appreciate the take on dark season as in, dark creatures cosmetics, but I also kinda wish we had a chromatic season with dark stone and metal like stuff as the main theme. Kinda like Pokémon UsUm necrozma aesthetic
Goth TLP walked so Emo Shattering could run, what will Let season do
“Murder is enabled”
Imagine
Concert Warrior of Love but you get captured
Lowkey, imagine if some people got captured and then at the end the ones that didn’t had to break their cages
I am working on an AURORA fic and there's going to be a scene involving trapped mantas that will give Warrior of Love their proper dosing of angst
What special or unique ability does yall's OCs have that isn't technically a thing in-game?
lmao yoink
ive probably mentioned skye here way too many times
Hair arm
This game does a good job at emphasizing "pretty" and "friendship". This makes it easy to miss the darker elements until they're right there
Wasteland and Eden are right there though
Autusm 👍
Misinformation, all you need to do is venture into Vault to know autism is canon
Autism when Autumn comes
I know none of the vault spirits are neurotypical
It's a meme
Oh I see, I’m stealing that
My OC’s are so boring dawg, my actual non fanmade stuff is already too edgy I had to tone it down on sky
I have one that's literally a flowershop owner and that's it, do what makes you happy first and foremost.
The ability to turn an elder mask to a weapon that you learned about/ are familiar with
My only Sky oc is a skykid shaped cat, do whatever
The ability to to stare at dark creatures deep in their souls and scaring them
My Sky OCs do have powers but they're mostly connected to colored lights
One of them has a more powerful grasp on green light and can create big thorns
Another one has a more powerful grasp on blue light and can create new cosmetics out of water
Sky is pretty much like.
"This one cute friendship adventure game where you wander across desolate ruins and polluted wastelands"
One of my OCs is pretty much invisible to dark creatures when not moving
In contrast, there's another that's so annoying that krills attack them on sight without the 5 seconds wind-up (there's a long story behind this)
have I heard about the 2nd OC that you mentioned?
That's Lipirela! They have a low priority level when it comes to development for now, though.
Ahh I see!
showing up randomly and/or conveniently for 2
b i r d for 1
one of mine just doesn't have a shell and the another is like that one person in an online game that doesn't have an Ethernet cable
for b i r d, it’s just one of my oc’s that I decided to soup
I have nicknames for some of my oc’s, and for this one it’s “bird boy”. their actual name is zefyr though
Got a theory:
As seen in the first picture there 3 out of four king statues standing. What if the fallen statue represents the king who was in the elder memory in shattering?
Also now that I look at the shattering memory it kind of looks like the king has lost his head
Hihi Skysona concept dump
||I have a planned Dark Plant Skykid, who is not naturally hostile and has been stuck at GW for a long while (due to the light no longer guiding them after honking)
When this Skykid got out out GW, they decide to see other Skykids, but due to their deformities and dark plant growing on them, other Skykids ignore or leave them at most. This would later cause the Skykid to be sort of untrusting, wanting to isolate themselves more yet wanting to socialize after being alone for so long. ||
Hi, I'm new to the lore, but I want to share my theory that I was talking about with a friend this morning and I don't know if anyone already mentioned it, but I'd like to share it.
I told that the season of shattering and the season of Aurora are connected, since as we could see in the memories of shattering, it showed us the evolution of nature towards destruction and in this season it shows us in the same way in the concert. . but living it first hand and spoken (mostly sung by Aurora).
In shattering it shows us a timeline and in aurora it shows us what happens within that line, it also practically "makes them solve the kingdoms after the destruction"
And that's it, the coffee I drink had some wisdom.
Why didnt the krill attack the little prince?
The french boy isn't a skykid, and therefore has no light
The krill was a representation of the Snake in the books, in which the snake did not attack the prince immediately, I assume it is the same for the krill.
🇫🇷🤝
The serious answer is that it might a parallel to when the little prince talks to a snake in the book.
The real answer is that the krill was too stunned because they just saw a white person for the first time
Would they like it if I played music for them?
I’m really good at a lot of music sheets and would love to cheer them up.
They do have parallels, thanks for pointing this out!

Can we post links here to other peoples content? About their theories or supposedly imbedded info they’ve found in the game files?
I do not believe this channel allows for data mining - you need to find info legitimately in public releases or in game (though OOBs are ok)
Fair. Should it be reported when spotted? I don’t like the person who posted it and just follow them to report spoilers and leaks
Are these falling stars we are being told about at the beginning of the game???
No, that’s cyan light
So the souls of ancestors?
It could theoretically be fallen stars, but is likelier to be cyan light, as falling stars are rendered differently. Take how we look when we fall from Eden for example, & also the falling star in Stargazer’s memory
But why is so much of it falling down over GW
Cyan light is the light Sunset (valley elder(s)) have! It controls air and wind currents. They could be using it to cause the cyclone to block off GW for example
that's it you're going to the toilet realm
STOLE MY JOKE /lh
There was already a theory something from the Valley was keeping the clouds/storm/krills of the Wasteland down, so I really like that theory !
victory to the swift, Mr gay
A war between valley and wasteland
Days of Sky called the two realms together "Golden Valley", could be a civil war !
Why did they involve mantas into it 😭 what are they gonna do anyways
They rode mantas, could be war mounts.
Makes sense
I think it would be a civil war even if they weren’t already the same city! They’re in the same kingdom anyways.
I have a suspicion that this isn’t depicting a typical military battle, but is more about the survivors after the war. The cyan light was used to block off golden wasteland so the krill couldn’t get to Valley and wreak havoc, but it also meant no ancestors could leave either. They were trapped there; their only way out was through Dusk’s temple and the Vault, which for whatever reason, they were unable to open.
This is why you see no distinct sides and everyone is desperately fighting each other trying to get inside, along with so many ancestors dead on the platform where the diamond is. It’s also why they’re attacking mantas since free food
It was also interesting to see the mountain before the shattering
A sacrifice made for the greater good to protect citizens in Valley that led to an awful fate for everyone still trapped there
I genuinely think that Eden was just a mountain and people only built that castle or whatever it was after the Chosen One was found out
Hmm I beg to disagree, some ancestors are way too high up even if they were sent by Cyan light, they could have been riding mantas like Warrior of Love, making the latter targets to attacks.
As for fighting eachother, Seed of Hope shows they had enough organisation to hide and heal when needed, not a crab bucket.
I think seed’s memory takes place during the war itself, not the crab bucket stage. As for the high up part, you’re probably right they were riding mantas.
As I said, I’m still not entirely sure this is correct but it’s what I’m thinking right now. It’s the best explanation in my head of why they’re trying to get inside Vault and also why there’s no distinct visible sides or leaders
I had a though about Vault. And scholarly type. I wonder if Vault can also be seen as a lab. A place to test out how light effects certain things. Made me wonder if Vault is where the catastrophe started. Hence why everyone wanted to get there because they thought it survived, when maybe it was the first place to be lost.

But why would they fight eachother to get in the Vault if it was closed ? Teaming up would mean a hope to force the doors open
I was thinking a large mutiny happened, many wanted to escape while others who were still loyal to protecting vault and keeping krill at bay tried to stop them, maybe it was so big that any sort of leadership fell apart
(Sky lore giving the most ambiguous info ever to work with , real)
Vault is so inch resting to me cause it’s a realm that’s actually a building
I think it’s interesting that there was an emphasis on the entrance to vault, and the entrance to vault being at Wasteland’s temple too
Same! I do have a theory vault elder used to look over eden or was the og eden elder. Since of the states you can light up, plus there’s big statues in the beginning of orbit which look like scholars you would see in the vault, I feel originally that vault was an extension to eden.
Other than that it’s just pure speculation
Remember that there's a broken temple in the middle of wasteland, perhaps the current temple was built after or as the first one fell. Or maybe the first temple was abandoned after the new one was built to protect the entrance to vault
Methinks maybe they acted as a leader overall, or maybe leader isn’t the word, but like, an advisor with high regard.
Oo i remember having a theory that was the valley twins original temple that got destroyed when the war began to happen, seen with the states in the entrance to the temple, and it looks extremely similar to forest’s temple layout, plus there’s gold detailing on the pillars above and gold details in wasteland social space which you only see in valley (ignoring the elder temples themselves)
there's also that derelict temple in battlefield
Resh divorced Tsadi because they keep using all the money to build new temples, smh Resh can't understand it's just a hobby
Wait isnt that the blue light? I thought cyan came from prairie, right before you enter the social space
They could also be using it to open up some holes in the cloud layer
Maybe they created the cloud layer but thought it was too cruel to not let any light in
Blue light is found in Valley in our time, yes, but the prophecy murals show Sunset getting the power of cyan light ^^
I liken it to shards, not cyan light.
Perhaps the Eden diamond had already exploded when the Ancestors were fighting v
How would “orbs of darkness” work in Sky?
trying to send the fire trial worm on the string emoji but I don't remember the name and it isn't loading
Also, there’s no evidence of Valley participating in the war and the quest itself seems to ignore Valley. The things also seem to fall like shards, and above the Concert Wasteland, we don’t see any traces of Valley.
yeah because the whirlpool clouds are in the way
also the part of wasteland we go through in the concert isn't canonically connected to valley anyways so like
I wonder if the spirits living in the sky were still talking with the surface world or communicating somehow.
Only wonder this because there is infrastructure around the maelstrom, like the folks from the sky were able to send things into GW as a mode of continuing to influence the land below the clouds they once left behind.
Is the ||office|| under maintenance?
But the blue things fall from the whirlpool clouds
and in the Days of Sky concepts valley and wasteland are both referred to as Golden Valley which would imply they were part of the same city which would require them to be at least somewhat involved
I know that, but Wasteland already looks heavily polluted in the memory, implying that at the time darkness was already present in the Sky world, which could make these proto-shards possible
In all honesty, there’s absolutely no way to know (without asking)
my last point is why aren't they red if they're shards because color associations are such a big part of this games lore
Blue is still heavily associated with uncharged darkness, like the krill’s light being blue or the darkness plants, or even darkstone
Darkstone is blue when- yeah Baud beat me to it
I wonder if Corruption was already present in the Sky before the first sky kid appeared and that is why they opened their gates for the spirits. Sky kids were the middle ground, hoping that granting the surface the power of light could save the elders and their world. Only suggest this because of the little tunnel below the first temple with corruption in it
Stupid Question from a lote newbie (me):
Is Aurora canon? We can see through the quests that at least the spirits are canon (I assume), since they interact with the Sky world directly nursing people, riding mantas, mining, etc. It's not the Little Prince quests, that have no impact at all in the lore an all it spirits have no interaction with the Sky world
I now see Starlight Desert / TLP as a dream shared between Sky Kids that mingled with the Purple Light in Vault to create a physical area and tangible cosmetics
Purple Light as in the Archives daily quest light?
Someone commented that in the wasteland memory during the concert, it looked like the adults were only attacking themselves ??? Meanwhile we always thought the darkness was the enemy. So since they said that, I’m starting to think the history of sky is too close to home. Like irl wars are just people killing themselves. And in sky maybe they killed themselves and then the darkness was simply what took over after (like when ravens / crows come to eat the roadkill)
bro literally goes to Eden and ascends that's pretty canon
a surprising amount of enchantment and beyond spirits only interact within their area and season spirits tlp is not an outlier there
Debatable tbh, you gotta remember that "canon" is loosely defined and not limited to just whatever you see in a piece of media, stuff like retcons and non-canon events are pretty common and you gotta take into account the irl/meta context of the things you see
In the case of baguette boy, he could be canon, but also could not because not only does his presence not really impact anything or have any direct relation to the world of Sky itself but he's also part of a collab with a different piece of media.
Even if the Starlight Desert and it's spirits are canon, that still doesn't confirm the child and his rose are
While TLP is sourced from outside material, the devs have integrated TLP material into Sky’s world well. They impact the lore because they’re a part of it. For instance, the theory that the TLP spirits are caricatures of the Elders.
The same can be said for Aurora. While some things are disputable, Aurora has been involved in planning and designing the collab that reflects upon Sky’s world, so there is stuff here we can call canon too
I guess it's kinda like the "what-if" scenarios from some long-running media franchises, they might not be canon to the main story but there are pieces and bits of them that are part of the main canon or reveal stuff about it
right Aurora was Heavily involved in making her season ... it's possible that the tlp person could've if they weren't like dead
I don't like dismissing crossovers as noncanon just because they're crossovers
I totally believe AURORA being canon to the extent that her as a person outside the game has very similar beliefs and ideals of how to view the world as the game Sky portrays on different fronts.
She's such a vocal point for things that are wrong, difficult, and confusing IRL. Sky does a magnificent job in merging real life through fantasy of the world.

Iirc the Saint-Exupéry estate does tend to keep a close eye on adaptations and crossovers of TLP, so it's not Antoine himself but it's sadly the closest one can get (tho idk if they were that involved with the Sky crossover, so if anyone has any sources or interviews or streams about the production of the SoTLP please feel free to share)
There are four camps in this channel:
Aurora and TLP are both canon: shared by me
Aurora is noncanon, but TLP is: shared by a few people, like Alasdair and Salem
Aurora is canon , TLP is not: shared by nobody
Neither is canon: shared by people outside this chat, but not here
why camps
Office is canon: shared by portals

What’s another word for it
opinion,
Stances
iirc Jenova Chen chose The Little Prince because it was part of what inspired Sky too !
Really I take the Warrior of Love scene and the Seed of Hope Scene (of the concert) to be the early and late stages of the same conflict, and I consider Valley and Wasteland to be different boroughs of the same city
Oh I fully believe the Aurora spirits are canon, even if Aurora herself isn’t
By the amount of ghibli fans and inspirations, I would be surprised if there wasn't ghibli themed season, if not full collab
Wonder what the plot line would be
Giant spirit bathhouse
Me after I watch a krill and it magically becomes a sea serpent
And it's in one of the buildings in village of dreams, where spirits ask for items, and you have to go find them around the village to bring them back to the spirits, but as a minigame like a restaurant sim
Final quest is to clean all the darkness off a krill
It's all coming together
I did have a dream about a 2d area, Nintendo area style inside one of the village buildings where you did some 2d minigames
You forgot:
-Aurora and frenchboy themselves aren't canon but the seasonal locations and spirits are
-None of that matters because Sky doesn't actually have lore and TGC has been gaslighting us the entire time
yet another valley season
I like valley too much
I'm in camp 2, but in the sense that I think a lot of the TLP stuff is just a purple light illusion
Eden is yet to get a proper season with a seasonal area and all
The Void of Shattering is technically in Eden
is it?
Really? it should try blowing up again
*pointing at pnr*
those are distinctly not the same place
It’s somewhere similar ig
The giant diamond in the middle of pnr is arguably the void of shattering and pnr is inside Eden, therefore the VoS is in Eden
it's everywhere and nowhere at the same time I reckon. different planes are weird like that
I think it's more so wherever the shards are than specifically within the Eden diamond
I have my own ideas but then ig we’re technically getting into oc territory
The thing is that Eden is supposed to not have any spirits. The whole thing is completely devoid of any signs of life except for krills and darkness, the place is deserted
It wouldn't make any sense thematically to have a bunch of spirits there
My idea was a last group of “court members” (I call them that but I don’t believe Eden was really a monarchy, I just have nothing else to call the people there) who were the only ones to survive the explosion, and went to an area near Eden’s social area (still in Eden but away from the storm).
I might ramble about this but whfhdhdh it’s just some ideas so it’s not rly contributing to much
THEORY TIME (as stated earlier today)
Lets talk about this line from the very first song in concert "Exhale Inhale"
Take from my world no more
When this happens, our scene changes from our perspective with the Light of AURORA essentially welcoming us and telling us to prepare ourselves (a theory for another day) to outside of the magical sphere coated in what I am assuming the other Spirits's Light that they gifted to AURORA to make the Concert even remotely possible
Here's the thing
the sphere is surrounded by darkness.
Who else could AURORA be speaking to in this moment but the Darkness around Her? I theorize that AURORA (who is the Goddess of Light's Vessel connecting her to the Kingdom) has had enough of the Darkness taking over and Corrupting everything She has created.
Later on, as a segway to the song "Warrior," She reminds us that we are Warriors of Light. We, the Children of Light, are Her Warriors to battle the Darkness that as plagued Her Creation, destroying the Kingdom She loved so dearly
is the darkness sphere the memory bubbles for all the concert songs or something else I missed
Interesting theory, but I don't think it thematically makes sense for there to even be a Goddess of light since it's very apparent that The Light is likely supposed to be some sort of Gestalt of all light creatures, formed by the sum of a lot of different individual beings rather than being an individual itself
umm
remember the glowy sphere that appeared after Seed of Hope?
That but much bigger
the aurororb? I'm still not sure what you're talking about
mind you, this is just a theory and something that I noticed personally
Haha imagine being stuck in aurororb.
Honestly I have a question. What things in the concert aren't "canon" vs what is "canon"?
yes
I think what they represent is canon, but their spirits are just passing through.
Fair enough. Next question-
tgc really likes environmental storytelling but the problem is that there's too much environmental storytelling and little concrete information
I think thats just gonna have to be. Technically isnt sky's story meant to be open ended? So I suppose that just helps keep it being more open ended, if they make it unconcrete
Aurora being a glowing orb is actually her true form irl btw, been to her show onde can confirm that’s what she usually looks like
thats the fun of it
so many interpretations to the point of W A R
||and i am living for it||
I personally am not living for war that sounds incredibly unfun
also I just like knowing things in general
The problem is that TGC's specific style of environmental storytelling doesn't give enough concrete information*
There are other games that rely on environments too and yet they give a lot more critical information without using words
I JUST REALIZED THE MANTAS POEM HINTED THAT MANTAS TRUSTED THE ANCESTORS, THEREFORE BEING CAUGHT AND USED AS FUEL
I theorize that Grandma Spirit is better at cooking than even GORDAN RAMSEY
Dw I’m not the biggest fan of the storytelling method either. Don’t share that a lot cause most ppl will go “it’s intentional” like I knows it’s just not my favorite 😭 But I still like the game so
I prefer it this way. Makes me feel less bad about my ideas for the lore because its meant to be open ended and up for interpretation. Perfect for a game like this in my eyes
I think the full concrete lore will only come when Sky ends and they release all the lore documents
My husband and I discussed this so much in-depth. We noticed this too.
That’s just the “no white people allowed” option
Illusions are still canon
There is a lot of information, but it’s released through really weird an unconventional means. Like people in Sky not having gender is a massive fact, but you can only know that if you know it beforehand
Okay, maybe I'm in the camp with you.
I have this headcanon that some vault scholars created the illusions because they didn't like the current state of the elder rule
Oooh 👀
Honestly I'm 50/50 with TLP, like the idea of starlight desert is really good
Maybe The Prince is kinda a story made up by the spirits?
Kind of like their own handmaids tale, but the prisoners of Starlight Desert (and the area) were real
the fact that the prince starts looking like a spirit after the season ends and their last quest is them going through Eden and orbit... it's a little bit inch arresting
they killed him
Sentenced to death for getting into adults personal business 😇👍
Keep in mind the Starlight Desert canonically exists in Sky
In my mind, the Prince is as well; the themes of The Little Prince fit very well into Sky and the more technical aspects (like the planet) can be explained by Sky’s weird astronomy.
Ooooh. Going off my own personal theory of what Vault could represent, maybe the spirits in the skylit desert were a part of experiments done by the elders
(An idea I enjoy is that Vault was a lab of sorts for testing how light and stars interact with the natural world)
I feel like TLP season is the hardest to explain lorewise lmao
Yeah, but not impossible. The spirits and location are rooted firmly into Sky, it’s just the seasonal quests with the Rose and Prince that could be debated.
Even still, there’s a mural showing the Prince in the Starlight Desert
I kind of like the theory that the spirits were kind of like, war criminals or smthing??
But then why would they have their own personal islands built if they were imprisoned
Especially when all his quests didn't really interact with the world like all the other seasons. His is more story telling, but I suppose one could see his story as the story of what happened to the world outside of Sky. That humans neglected the surface and allowed it to disappear when it was their friend.
I think Starlight Desert is a real location, but the things in it are illusions of purple light. As for the quests, they could just be a dream, also by purple light. The only real thing in the Starlight Desert is the big lantern, and if you destroyed it, you'd see what was really underneath the illusion.
Could be similar to a purgatory and you reap what you sow, kind of thing?
Yeah exactly!!! And these islands are all further supporting the spirits delusions!
So it's like they're forever stuck in their own minds
I always thought TLP really resembled the seven deadly sins.
And yes!!! That's what I felt too. Especially as adults, it's easy to forget to practice community and harmony with the world outside of yourself.
I just wonder why and how they ended up there, in the desert
Sorry to interrupt, but if you read the book I think it’ll help !!
But are you guys trying to see how the book fits into the whole lore of sky? Like how it would fit into sky’s story?
Let me think about this:
Star Collector is Greed
Gloating is Pride
Beckoning King is… also Pride?
Slouching Soldier is Gluttony
Sneezing Geographer is ignorance, which really isn’t a cardinal sin
Stretching Lamplighter? That’s compliance, again not a sin
I don’t think it matches up perfectly with the cardinal sins, instead it just shows how adults have bad examples and have bad qualities in general.
@winter shale It’s important to note that the spirits have chains, so they may be imprisoned/trapped there.
there is evidence of valley participating in the war!
two valley spirits (backflip & medalist) have war masks
backflip is confirmed to be a soldier through slouch’s memory
general theme of duality in Valley, especially between mantas & darkstone, which could have been exacerbated and led to the war
twirling champion, valley’s lightseeker, has a hairstyle commonly used during warfare
Sunset heavily implied to be the one who stabbed Dusk
& Last but not least,
cyan light being used to block off GW doesn’t mean Valley had to be in a war with it. It just means they didn’t want something from Wasteland getting into their realm.
Idk about you, but war or no war, I can pretty quickly list off a bunch of things that might be
But why would they be imprisoned? That's what I've always wanted to understand
…Did you read the second paragraph of my post? That’s why cyan light would be used, also notice the “doesn’t mean they had to be involved in the war” part
MURDER LETS GO
Hi guys
Hello
Many, many theories. Mine is that they were setting a bad example for the Ancestor society as a whole, so they were imprisoned
they weren’t actually imprisoned, they just went to hot topic
Meagrees
GW was not being “blocked off”, there were active beams of blue stuff being directed against the Ancestors
I like the war theory, I like the violence
War! War!
We already have war, why not peace somewhere
Why didn’t they hit the ancestors then? Also the blocked off part is referencing the cyclone, do you remember flying into there and dying at all? Or the cyclone in wasteland?
Everyone is dead, that means there is no more war now 😁
Can't have war if there isn't people to start war with!
oh no the themes
Wait
I’m sorry I’ll stop before I’m flagged down to oblivion
Another thing, do you think spirits died where you find their "souls"? Or do you think their souls are trapped in like, a strong memory they hold onto?
I agree with the war between realms theory, also they seem to be protecting the Vault with a lot of emphasis so I wonder if this wasn’t an actual attempt at reaching Eden to stop something from happening
Cause some places, like sparkler parent, show good memories that really doesn't seem like they'd die in such a place
I apologize for the delay, I had to find my notes!
Ruler is Anger
Narcissist is Pride
Soilder is Gluttony
Geographer could be envy.
Collector could be greed/Anger(he gets irritated at TLP when he is questioned about it and shoo him along)
Lamplighter is an exception because he is the only one who doesn't think about himself.
Probably the second! You could also say that that’s where their spirits were before they petrified, although they don’t necessarily have to have died there.
The names “memories” are misleading but I think it’s cause they’re still there, but showing u a memory of theirs
Maybe it’s something like consciousness fetching
Oh i just saw something interesting 👁
Do you think the vault actually stored ancestors memories? And why?
completely off topic, but, if you see, in vault there is a like table, like, GIANT, table, and there are 6 chairs, and one of them is like in the ground, does this has some realtion with anything?
Yes!! Been thinking Vault became like the equivalent of a bomb shelter as the corruption in wasteland got worse & the diamond exploded, so maybe they were storing people’s memories in order to preserve a past that would be forgotten otherwise. or, it’s just an easier and more convenient and vivid way of storing history
They died in a hurry
!!!!!!!!!!!!
Stored people's memories, so the next generation doesn't forget about what caused the downfall
(The next generation did not happen, skykids happened tho)
Me staring at my sky kid in disappointment (she doesn’t know how to use or view those stored messages and there’s nothing she can do about it, however me on the other side of the screen has too many expectations)
What if she can open them but just doesn’t tell you anything
or, maybe, they like kind of "sealed" it so that nothing but ancestors could open it, like, so that light creatures couldnt steal/destroy it
edit: lol wrong response
I imagine a lot of them would be useless
That’s so her omg slay, anyways she’s gonna hear from me when we get home
Financial and tax records mean nothing to a skykid. So would recipies, personal documents, and work notes. Do you know how many papers are used just for delivery records? I don't, but I bet there are a lot and many of them would be stored in massive archives
An ancestor finally gets the opportunity to store their final memories, the story of their kingdom
They have to think hard, this will soon be a relic of the past.
"Rebecca this one goes out to you" they tear up as they pull out their acoustic guitar, singing the most off tune, cheesiest love song ever
Okay that one would be highly valuable
Imagine being the sky kid who finds it later, only to hear an acoustic version of Ed Sheeran
What about spirit mantas then? Did mantas somehow manage to become spirits just like ancestors in Vault? I mean, there are quite a few bones in there
I wonder about the spirit mantas too, maybe because they were in such a protected and almost "holy" place they were able to have this second life form? (Which is the starry Lil manta guys)
Maybe that’s just what mantas look like after being exposed to purple light and the bones are something else (idk if mantas have bones to begin with)
Imagine if it was just a little off. Not like the professional songs out there. Not like the music on the music sheets. Just... A bit off key, and with an inconsistent tempo. The singer is clearly inexperienced.
But all the skykids gather round, cause they hear It in the singer's voice. The song was written and sung with love. With hope and loss. With true emotion. Skykids who hadn't felt anything from music in years begin to cry.
A lost memory, recorded in stone, brought the past back from the unknown
...speechless sounds
That was beautiful
Sorry, didn't mean to silence everyone
spams the cry emote in sky
Oh my god
What if these spirit memories we have to go around and collect, are vault memories that were lost?
true, like, with the explosion, since vault is so near of eden, there mioght have een somethings that falled
That's a great idea! The whole thing is us going around to "help spirits find their way" so lost is a beautiful way to put that
Aww that's sweet
Since their design has an instrument (the harp specifically), perhaps they can play with you?
I would love to. Duets are fun, and I'd be happy to teach them how to play some of my favorites.
That. That’s absolutely beautiful. I think I’m getting emotional over text

aahhhhhh crys till eden explodes the whole sku
Forgot to mention it earlier but also a good chunk of the valley spirits are wearing straight up armor, as well as the Citadel’s name [citadels are an inner part of a city with strong defenses so that it’s harder to take them during war]
Especially with Wasteland right there, I think the shadow of war on Valley is pretty obvious.
OOOH! What if the spirits of Valley were unknowingly helping supply mounts for the war?
Like the races from the view point of the warrior of Love is showing them building a relationship with the manta and befriending it. But in AURORA's version they're capturing the mantas. So what if not everyone was aware what learning to ride the mantas was about???
(forgot to add that there could be a split, those who were aware what it was, and those who weren't)
seems that ancestors treated mantas like we do horses – sometimes they carry us around for transport, sometimes for fun races, and eventually repurposed for war
From the promo, I literally did not understand that the Sky kingdom had fallen
I’m not clever so I couldn’t understand anything from all the poetry interspersed in various places
Every time I get one of those surveys that asks me if I understand what’s happening, the storyline, my answer is always no
And I’ve been playing for 3 years on a daily basis, beta and Live
And worse, I’m 57!
I’m just dense
and maybe not related, but the twin's bats (or whatever those things are) look a bit like swords
in Orbit, they look like they had swords
i havent unlocked them, but yes
and during their cutscene, they have a quite belic behavior with each other
It’s fine, you’re not dense, if anything Sky is a game that rarely reveals its secrets
tbf all the NPCs are dead (spirits) or dubiously alive (Elders)
why it doesnt allows me to write i think
edit_ it allowed me 😄
there are ruins and dead people everywhere, I think the fallen civilization bit is easy enough to figure out
To be fair we do need to dig in news articles, streams and this very server to get details, but I think the game makes it pretty clear that you explore the ruins of a fallen civilisation while rescuing ancestor spirits; you can see it being straight up said in the introduction to the game:
We connected the seven realms with the power of starlight.
But then the sky went dark, and our Kingdom shattered.
Many of us are still trapped in these realms.
Please, Child… Bring your light to our fallen spirits.```
a question, what is that "orb" or "plant" that its inside the anestor's spirits
Their spirit core! You can see it glowing blue like a star when you call them down for instance
ohhhhh, like our kind of hearth that says in the lore moths article, but of an ancestor, and corrupted
yes!
I can understand it now, only because I’ve been playing so long and because you singled out that paragraph
There was so much focus on how warm, beautiful and friendly the game was that I missed everything else
We can literally buy armored masks and firework sticks from wasteland
Yeah! We were talking about armor in Valley mostly here, but thr armored masks observation still works for Valley because 2 spirits from there have armored masks as well ^^
oh salem you've never seen the valley spirits with helmets from Light Awaits ?
i have NOT show me please
Can talk abt part of the season here?
||I saw mantas on top of the war on wasteland part, my first thought was they're a 3rd side fighting for themselves against the 2 sides fighting each other, but maybe, them being a war mount for each side seems likely||
I don't have them 😔
I think Dark or Krii has them but you're more likely to find them in a playthrough of Valley, when greeting the elder at the shrine.
||I actually thought they were all united against the mantas but I saw a thin spirit guy killed by a soldier spirit with a spear||
You can talk without the spoiler bars!
It’s a civil war most likely, we see two shields of different icons.
2 shields theory, right? One fought for technology to stay and the other for manta rights ||to not be juiced off for said technology||
Something along those lines
There are some aspects of the two shield theory that still need to be explained before I consider it canon I think. Like why Dusk has one shield symbol at their altar & then another in their mural in Night’s cutscene iirc
I thought about that too, then I saw two different warriors attacking the same manta. So I think you're right about 3 sides

The reason they're even there is they're supposed to be cavalry mounts for one side or the other but they turned against everyone, including their owners
Thats what happens when you cage them like display and then suddenly they're around polluted waters like in GW
Also, I noticed smth, while this can imply krills are mantas turned dark
Krills resemble crustaceans than smth like mantas and stingrays
Also, it is almost widely accepted that krills are machines of war rather than living beings or they're enhanced living beings
nah, krills are confirmed corrupted light creatures
Wait, I remember seeing a light creature with lots of segments like krills, it is
Elder mantas
Are you talking about the creature in the second to last floor of Vault or the one in Sanctuary?
Sanctuary
yeah, that’s the elder manta!
I came back just for the concert, I enjoyed it all, especially the GW and Eden parts
So, cleared up the mantas' involvement in that battle, next thing Im confused abt is where the explosions come from, could just be weather
The mural shield has no symbol, it’s probably just a simple representations
I think I mixed up the symbol and the shape of the shields, mb. For example you can see the diamond ones are a pentagonal shape like in the mural whereas the sun shields are octagons and by their altar
Yeah, it’s not like the Wasteland Elder would use one shield
dusk slamming a krill with the shield
And ending it with spear to the neck, quick and painless
I'm not sure if krills really have necks I just like the imagery of the bonk
Pretty sure they do, their carapace is segmented to allow for their slithering movement
i don't volunteer to be the one to fly up and check
Now Im just imagining a God of War 4 and Ragnarok with Wasteland elder and Idk, Sky kid or one of the Valley elders as "BOY"
||Even better, there's a spear and you can play as the BOY in Ragnarok||
Dw, there's google or if you search, there's a model rig of the krill showing it's carapace and body
I had a thought of the celebration for the caravan of ancestors who traveled Isle of dawn first. Once they're on the grassy lands and the birds fly over, I feel like they're rejoicing because they haven't seen birds in who knows how long.
The grassy isles feel nostalgic, both for our first gameplay and seeing the perspective of what Isles were back then
Oh man, Absolutely
Im getting nostalgia for a time all of us havent been to, grassy Isles, it looked so full of life
It looks as vibrant as Prairie
Have you guys seen the Nintendo Switch trailer for Sky? There was a grassy isle scene in it I believe
Yes, the light creature looked squishy
Silly light creatures
Idk what it's called, it looks to be bigger than mantas but obviously smaller than elder mantas
Ohh
the one that looks like it has a krill eye?
The one in Sanctuary so big, so squishy
YO. I NEVER ACTUALLY WATCHED GHE NS trailer. WHUT A THING
The one that goes around the topmost part of the island? Yeah that is an Elder manta
OHH WAIT THE ONE THAT APPEARS AT ONE OF THE QUEST CUTSCENES?????
The thing they were riding on absolutely looks like an ancestor of krill.
Hell yeah
what a trailer!! I really wonder if Isle of dawn was the beginning and end of everything. (I am aware it represents rebirth)
But to see it so green and teeming with life and caravans. Just... Woah. How cool :cCry
It really was like the edge of the world and where Sky began.
Elder crab, when 👀
Elder Skykids and Elder Butterflies when
an Elder crab exists, its just that it is in the concept arts
i made this based on people's lore
what do mantas eat? Because they have mouths, they gotta be consuming s o m e t h i n g
irl they do eat plankton, so it could be that, plus warrior of love feats something to a manta so it could be a light ball
Ooo a bigger and more detailed butterfly 👀
Can ride elder butterfly?
I would see it as the butterfly picking YOU up (if it is bigger than a Skykid)
The biggest ones carry you alone while the ones still at the "young adult" stage still needs 2 others to carry
I wonder what an Elder Skykid would look like?
Skyadults? Skydults? Goofy aaa names
reminds me of those claw-like things
Looks like a literal crab
🦀
Could be a holy site for the people that are now spirits or could be ancient crustacean creature bones
This is so true
They probably eat those light glitters
Wait where is this 😭
It's not on the game lmao
Ik
Did you know crabs are non-flammable?
Let's make em flammable then!
Speaking of dark creatures
Why are krills' eyes round? We know that rounded parts of a creature is a connection to light (and yes, a krill's eye does emit light, but it is not nessesarily the light like the from light creatures)
Unless it is a sign of a krill's past of having light (which would be debatable)
popping in quickly to say krill having light in the past is actually not debatable ! its been confirmed that theyre corrupted light creatures /lh /gen
Well, it was said that they are corrupted, but their orgins of the krill pre-corruption is debatable (at least I think so)
But thank you!!

The mantas' frequent presence in that war opens up the possibility that they turned into the krills we know through corruption and growing to the size they're in, still doubt it tho cuz crustaceans and myliobatiformes are different
The dark stones need to be lit at the same time and they are far from each other... Maybe this is the way ancestors opened door to get in their houses back then
I was watching the very beginning of the concert again, and Aurora looks more ominous on closer examination— the tree exists, her light goes to the tree, her light leaves the tree, the tree withers and dies; her light rests on the stone pillar for a while, and a dark plant grows there after she leaves; her light rides on a creature of light that expands to a manta, but when her light leaves it, it gets encrusted with darkness and crashes into the sea
This is possible tho, they're pretty much bigger than us skykids
Honestly that was the most unexpected part of the concert for me
Maybe shes showing us the light cannot be at all places at the same time so she needs us?
you guys know that space station in office right?
Well what if it was actually a weapon of mass destruction
WAIT. I HAVE AN EXPLANATION.
That thing literally shoots a laser beam to the planet, and the space station looks like it has some sort of a laser weapon, similar to that wasteland turret we see in the concept art
What if our past ancestors has mastered laser technology and space travel and use it in the war?
this could explain why the ruins in sky is just heavily destroyed
Although that can be debated by catapult and cannons
Isn’t the office supposed to represent TCG’s actual office?
…wait…
yep, but you can go to the space station through the tv
Unfortunately, it does not seem that the Office is canonical to the Sky kingdom’s lore.
Although the Sky kingdom is advanced (look the Vault of Knowledge), it is not space-travel advanced.
||or maybe it's the command center that operates and directs the firing of the space station laser 👀||
True, but they do sort of kinda have laser
The Wasteland statues could’ve also had “lasers”, we see them powered up in murals
yep, maybe they're deactivated or dead or maybe their lasers are dismantled
You mean the Mario playground in wasteland? Sorry i was backreading some lore
Yes that one but looking like the interior of a building, with minigames such as carrying things to spirits, going through mazes, and other stuff all in a 2d perspective
Ohhh I see. Could be fun(ny)
My lore idea for today is what if the krill "learned" from the war and that's why they seek and destroy light. Or maybe they're just protecting their own paradise. It's pretty nice digs for a darkness creature
we should make a sky lore bible AI, train it so it knows what we know about the lore, and then have it make theories for us
at the very least it would produce some good food for thought every now and then
Hmmm... you know what, me likey
What lobbed the blue fireballs into GW in concert flashback? Any explanations besides Wrath of Angy Aurora? Blue color doesn’t fit Eden; idk what/how Valley could do
you'd have to be very careful about what you tell it
all the confirmed stuff and some theories with very good basis probably, idk
Maybe they think we skykids might eventually grow into adults, and possibly start another war.
But in reality we're just a thing to sacrifice lol
Possible, but the krill also attack the manta, so idk if we're special
I think that due to the corruption (and pain [due to it?]) the krills have impaired perception and are rushing at any Light lifeform because they see Megabird in it. Megabird has been said to be an abstract amalgamation[kind of] of every living being
Why would they have a shield from each side though?? throws a wrench in the whole theory tbh
- they were originally sided with one, but dusk’s ideals changed over time
- the side dusk was on lost, and putting the shield of the opposing faction next to dusk at their temple was a show of victory or dominance
Manta also participate in the war tho
Ion think that krills have that much of a thought capacity, I love them to death but we're talking about the animals that can no longer see you the moment you hide behind a rock the size of a crab
The laser could have blown up those men who were shown to be fighting in the concert
That is assuming their laser does explosions rather than slow cutting
But those are blue fireballs, not lasers and they're coming at a distance those lasers weren't even angled at
So back to square one
Wasteland Elder doesn’t ever use the shield with the diamond logo
maybe they can somewhat feel it through their body tho, also they can still see things even if their vision is very small
That means he fights for light creatures from day one, nice
I also dont think thats the case cause as far as we know, krills seem to be attacking because they charge at any light instead. Note how a krill also attacks a manta at the start of Wasteland. I dont think it has a thought proccess or rationality behind it, I think that corrupted creatures become desperate for light as an attempt to stop their own agony
same with crabs. After charging at you, aggressive crabs will also consume the light you dropped
flies in Would, theoretically speaking, there be a jungle-like area in Sky?
I thought of how rainy Forest is and then I realized that with the loads of trees still around and in that realm and the loads of water that it can also be classified as a rainforest. Though I wonder about other kinds of geography and jungle came up first.
I don't think they eat our lights tho cuz when we dropped our winged buff it just disappears on it's own
And also, maybe they are corrupted creatures tho
Hidden forest:
they do eat it, it disappears on its own as well, but if a crab is near theyll actually get it themselves
wait what
i didn't know this
I forgot sorry
One day the night went dark and the stars disappeared.
Maybe the blue fire balls could be nature shooting stars from the heavens to try to end the war quickly.
(This is a theory based on not knowing the timeline for the war.) Since GW is below the clouds and from the switch trailer we see the stars are clearly still there when the way to the sky was open. So maybe the stars fell during the war and those are the blue explosions?
(I'm at work if I don't respond right away!!
)
Dw abt it, taking your time isnt bad, this makes sense
its hard to spot because most of the time in Wasteland, you lose winglight near darkwater, which makes it disappear instantly, its easier to observe it when losing it near sand
Magahd, do krills also do that?
nope
man, i wonder how big of a wl do krills like to eat
Nature does have its way of wanting war to end, all the destruction just adds onto the already bad pollution
chat what is the volume of a sky kid
I don't think we can calculate that
We can use aurora's voice for comparison tho
The avrage human conversation sound is around 60dB. But Aurora's voice is pretty calming and soothing.
And according to google human whisper is around 30 dB.
To me aurora's voice is more like 50 - 60dB.
With this in mind, we can somewhat compare the sound of our honk to her voice, although it's very hard because there were other thousands of people.
Thankfully, we can tell wich is our honk. And then we can kinda compare our honk.
I will use the moth honk here.
The moth honk is quite a loud one, so it kinda sits between 50 ~ 68 dB.
Slightly less than a human shouting
(These are all just assumptions, i am not a mathematician)
wait is it volume as in sound or volume as in space occupied
Wdym
this person asked about the volume of a skykid, but volume can refer to how loud a sound as well as how much space a 3 dimensional object takes up and i wasn't sure which
True...
Sounds can depend on what honk are they using, the distance and the background sounds too, soo um yea.
There's not really an exact way to calculate it
which is what I said
i n d e e d
Loud honkers if I do say so myself, kinda like children playing outside
Omg why are we calculating the amount of decibels a Skid's honk makes? Sky gravity calculations 2: Darkstone Boogaloo
Hullooo
Does someone know if Aurora's paths in Isle and Forest are in the real game ? I can't find them
Do you mean from the concert?
wow, I love this!
Those are what pre-existing areas used to look like in the past, Isle's is the whole realm while Forest's is underground cavern, they're not accessible in that state outside the concert, only what we have in the present
Yes !
Yeah, then it’s what Dark mentioned above!! ^^
Oh ok, I was looking for the little cavern at the beginning of the song in Forest, before going to the underground caverns, but ig it is where the passage to the Wind Paths are ☺️☺️ tk very much !!
Thank you ☺️☺️
THE SKY MATH RETURNS
||For context, in spring of this year I and some others spent 3 days trying to find the gravity of the Sky world and the speed of the Elders||
Volume as in 3d area or volume as in sound?
3d area
I calculated the surface area so this should be easy enough-
because i'm trying to figure out if a sky kid shell stuffed with trinitrotoluene (TNT) can collapse the underwater complex of Treasure Reef
I think asking about that sentence would only make me more confused
i was being brainrotted by 2Rb + 2H2O => 2RbOH + H2 explosion
Is this Skykid a moth?
yes, ignore hair and stuff because i wanna know how much TNT can be stuffed inside it and idk what exactly sky kid hair is
A moth is made of 1 spherical head, 4 cylindrical limbs, and 1 rectangular prism body
Actually, if you try quickly retracing your little jelly path from whence we came, you can see the top of an entrance tunnel, maybe the same one that we normally need to stomp open inside the hollow tree
wrt sound volume: in space, no one can hear you honk except somehow we do
or in simpler terms, a circle, a triangle, and two lines
Would you like it in freedom or metric units?
metric please
Hold up hold up hold up
Was pursuing my timely hobby of taking pictures of Krills with extreme detail, and I got one moments before I was purposely KRILLED
But the call they let out, is one of a creature of light, this not only proves my theory of Krills being whales of darkness, but they contain some light(this goes for crabs as in sanctuary memories they let out the same call just different sound)
weren't their calls red at some point
Not sure been playing since shattering
They were red during Shattering
I think it only lasted one update during the launch of Shattering, so if you avoided getting attacked by krills during then you may have missed it.
I have a question for the Sky theorists that I haven't really seen talked about in past discussions but, are the crabs edible?

But in seriousness, there is evidence that ancestors ate crabs (see the memory by the wasteland crab cooking pit and the tummy full memory), but not a lot of evidence that we eat
ancestors could've eaten crabs but skykids don't need to eat. skykids seem to be able to if they want to but there is no need for them to eat or else they die need
Other than marshmallows what other food would skykids eat?
Because it almost seems to be a crystal gem type situation
But in that case what cant skykids eat?
I think skids could eat anything that can burn or at least is made out of light. think the "light mochi" granny serves or tea biscuits on Days of Bloom tea sets
Light
ohhh, i had never seen the call on the krills, but yes, i also think they are corrupted whales
lemons 😈
Here goes:
The volume of a moth Skykid is 21,000 cubic centimeters. That is 21 Liters or 0.75 cubic feet. Expect a bit of margin of error, so much decimal conversions
138.6 megajoules of energy from a sky kid filled with TNT
Can that destroy the Treasure Reef
this went too far xD
You weren’t around for early 2022, this is nothing
i'm calling in for the night
when you next see me i'll have an answer and also a 3D modelled design for Alef-Resh
smt random about the krills and aurora
man I decide to check lore chat and you guys are calculating the volume of a sky kid
I was around in early to mid 2021. I can confirm this chat has had times where it has gotten Out Of Hand
The size of a skykid is based on candle height assumed to equal photo height in the Office.
but.... could you remind me why did you calculated the volume of an skykid again?
Because we're curious and bored
Why is our light drained by rain, but not when we swim?
Water quality most likely. Something in the forest air must not be right - and in irl, rain has been known to collect pollutants
but therefor, why does the water where we swim isnt polutted, at the end of the day, the RAIN, is falling IN the water, shouldnt it pollut i?
Plants maybe? Irl, plants and even animals can extract pollutants from water. If you have a fairly large puddle with lil guys purifying it, maybe it just dilutes too quickly to keep the water polluted?
I think the speed of the rain really hurts the Skykid.
Stepping on a pebble won’t harm you, but a pebble falling on you could get you hurt.
😮 but, ohh, yes, i have seen that when it hits the skykid, it looks like if it was hitting us/them real hard, so maybe its that
I think that it is incredibly scientifically implausible for rain to hurt people due to the speed at which it falls which is a concept I don't remember the word for
About the fire era and the darkstone era
Were there Skykids during that time? If so, then what was their purpose? (For the Skykids in the darkstone era, I hc that they would dress up like ancestors to adapt to the changes in the kingdom)
Another question about pre-darkstone era:
Was Vault real before the discovery of darkstone? In no, then who or what was Vault Elder before the discovery of darkstone and the construction of the Vault?
Also good morning Lorechat
cough we are a piece of clay that can fly with nothing but a little of light cough
the only skykid who lived during the ancestors' time was One
I dont really see a Skykid's skin to be made out of clay imo, but made up of some sort of dark material, to keep the light inside and possibly protect the Skykids from wounds (by using the crystals as a protection mechanism)
in the lore document that @sharp lichen, i think it says that we are made of something like clay
Yeah but it isn't official, now isn't it? /nm
Its just my opinion anyways, to each their own
It’s not just rain: the dark rain is already uncomfortable, and because earth materials in real life are affected by some material differently, it’s possible that the speed of the rain hurts you.
The pebble analogy works well
@fickle snow Not clay, an earth-like material broadly. Sky chemistry is hard.
Nobody really knows about the Sky timeline, least of all us. Could the Chosen One be a Skykid? Who knows?
any solid material can block light, so skykids don't have to be made out of a special material when any theoretically can do as long as it can hold their light within.
Making a full, 100% Sky timeline is impossible. If you want to make fun, focus more on the broad themes of the game rather than the specific details
there is a maximum speed at which anything can fall and rain is at its maximum speed. you've been outside in the rain you can confirm it doesnt hurt
irl rain, but sky rain? no one knows but our skykids
The rain in our world is much different than the dark rain in the Sky world, and we are not the same composition as the Skykids.
if you apply real world physics and science to sky to find out how much energy a tnt explosion would detonate why don't you apply it to the physics and science of rain
skykids can survive crashing into solid walls at excelling speeds. I don't see how the rain could damage them by force rather than magical properties
there is likely darkness in the rain and it drains on their light, precipitation from the Eden Storm was fills the world full of excess cloud cover
-
They used to take damage
-
I think it’s a combination of the force and magical properties.
-
Many forces in Sky already damage us physically, like Crabs, the Eden Storm, and Dark Dragons
and maybe, since water can like, refract light, maybe it like kind of weakens our light that way
yes bonk damage used to be a thing, but it isn't anymore. compared to crabs and krill, rain being able to damage them from force, especially when rain doesn't hurt most people irl, is really making this problem more complex than it has to be. even when skykids took bonk damage, they exclusively lost winged light, not neutral light power like they do under the rain.
the simplest thus likeliest answer is that there is darkness in the rain that takes their light since it is a given that darkness takes light. skykids even shiver if you keep them in the rain for too long. the rain is abnormally cold to them, probably due to the darkness there, whereas in Valley, full of snow, is fine.
it is analogous to acid rain, which does damage due to the pollutants in the rainfall rather than the force of the rain falling.
😮
I’m taking this as a challenge btw
(This is a joke I’ve actually been working on the timeline for awhile)
Btw, snow can be quite warm when on a mountain. Found that one out the hard way.
valley (?)
that is such a Canadian sentence
and something i saw, during the concert, the spirit ilusions vibrate with aurora's voice, what do i mean, i mean that, like they like have a kind of "beat" that happens in sincrony with aurora's voice
absolutely! comparing rain to crabs and krill when it comes to hurting skykids by force is… not really a valid comparison. rain is a lot smaller and has much less mass than both of these things.
also… skykids are covered in a thick clay shell. if raindrops came down hard and fast enough to penetrate it I’d be shocked
music and light have a close relationship, like how singing in Orbit in harmony to the song. prob just another way to show attune to the light
did we get hints at resh during the concert
Winged light is just light power but more. You can lose winged light if you stand in the rain long enough. And you lose far less light standing in the rain than on crabs and Krills. Sure, it’s a lot smaller, but there’s a lot more of it too.
Resh lore in Sky is…. Heavily debated. We don’t even know what to call them.

We got Resh, Alef (are they the same?), King, Prince (are they gender neutral terms??), Eden Elder and Chosen One (names based off theories?), Storm, One, funny child (the best name fr)
XD
Got locked out of the car on a trip to snow. I was wearing several footie pajamas underneath to keep warm.
The child was too funny, got beaned from Sky world
Yo does the forest elder got a name or gender at all? Been curious
Their canon name is elder of the forest, but fanon names include Rain and Teth!
As for gender, they don’t have one, same as every other Sky character. ^^
¯_(ツ)_/¯
honestly yeah alasdair is right
nothin
Hi
I mean, this is a good question though ! It makes me wonder if we’ll ever be able to find more spirits in the base-game constellations with those
Even if it’s probably unlikely and simply an insignificant detail, it leaves room to wonder
I think they’re ways to give the original constellation structure. So for example, the stars are there to make it more convincingly look like a spear and shield.
we can dream that it also leaves spots open for more spirits in the future as well
Honestly, not the worst idea
I think you’re right, and that’s most likely its main purpose of course, but the star icons themselves are still intriguing to me nonetheless, it feels like an empty spot almost !
I wouldn’t be surprised if new spirits were never added there since they’ve mostly added new content and spirits through seasons, but it would certainly be a pleasant addition!
So, is aurora just God now?
everyone has a different interpretation of it. i personally dont think she is, not exactly, but others do
Personally, I don't consider collab seasons to be 100% canon (like the little prince season. I think there is no reason for a huge crown, or huge stack of book to float on clouds outside Vault)
The only god-like thing jn this fantasy universe is a magic yellow bird. Aurora is an alien singing in the coliseum with very skilled special effect team of spirits
I hear you ... But on the other hand, it's Aurora, who sang the intro and post eden songs. There's an argument to be made that this season is more than a colab.
That might be just the game background music
Like there is background music in Forest but the trees are not playing flute
When i go to The Seed segments of Aurora Concert, i saw there's a same pose of this two buff soldier...
One meter far!
Asset recycling ♻️
are all the spirits in the game dead? because if they are thats really sad
Yep
nooooo

What are the dumplings grandma feeds us made of?
light, probably
I want the recipe
I here she uses lots of love, so be sure to stock up... And maybe bring a few friends
doesn't make any sense to me
so i 3d modeled my design of the eden elder
and they can move
Lore here sure is interesting.
This is so interesting! Do we know how tall skykids are? (at least how tall chibis and max height players are)
If elevators can float inside Vault, books can surely float outside Vault.
I don’t think she’s as powerful enough to be a god, I think she’s roughly on the power level of an Elder.

Rhythm lacks concept art, but they are shown in the season of Performance #lore-discussion-spoilers message
Ah yes, because a woman that can levitate, make other people levitate, manipulate the world around them, change the time of day, can change appearance at will, and has direct access to the after life IS DEFINITELY A ELDER LEVEL.
M A K E S S E N S E
If you grow giant, semi translucent and Glow and you think that's normal, you're probably a god. mortals do not do this.
that was sarcasm my friend
... beep.
i still strongly believe that AURORA was a "twin" to the Eden Elder
ALL THESE ARE THINGS SKYKIDS CAN DO
Yeah, like a successful version of the Prophecy
megabird dropped at least two of these authorities possibly close together in time, unsure about location.
either megabird sent aurora after eden elder failed, or they were sent into different places and after AURORA's first success and the failure of the eden elder, AURORA heeded Megabird's call and went to our Sky kingdom.
nonsense I do that all the time
this may also canonize the Journey cosmetics if Sky and Journey share the same god
How so?
Yes. Skykids. The creatures definitely not handcrafted by a literal god to ultimately act out the responsibilities of a minor diety.
it's doubtful though, Megabird doesn't have any connection to fabric
Skykids are just silly little things, they just happen to have godlike powers
We are gods of death, leading lost souls to the afterlife.
you skimmed through that
when did journey have a god what
It’s still true
this is the only possible (read: very dubious) connection
also Journey doesn't have confirmation of a god anywhere but the murals show the mountain spewing out a bunch of the holy symbols which become animals and the red cloth. im inclined to believe it's a deity or a deity-like thing
As stated in the intro, elders are the ones who ascend spirits, not us ^^ we just use our flame to burn away the darkness around them so they can go to the temple
how does sky kids physically manipulate the world
So... Does that make us assistant to the gods? Cause we had to fix the elders for them to send the souls to the afterlife... After picking up the souls who has not made their way there.
I guess
I personally believe the part where Aurora does all that is a dream or illusion of some sort. I stopped calling it non canon because I realized it wasn’t quite the right word for what I was experiencing. You can see she uses the spirits’ memories to create the illusions as well.
To be honest, if I had to guess I’d say the concert focused more on being an emotionally driven experience than perfectly accurate and slotted into the magic system of Sky, so I’m ultimately not too worried about making her a god or whatever.
I also think it would be weird if someone whose physical form was only referenced in a performance mural teasing the collab was suddenly the creator of the world or something along those lines.
More talking about Eden
I guess you could phrase it like that!
Do you think you could elaborate as to what you mean by this? Are you wondering how we ascend when we get to Eden?
Funny table prop, Shattering, Flight, dark plants
By “leading lost souls into the afterlife”, what I assumed Null meant was the sequence in Eden PNR where we save the Skykids frozen in Eden
OHHHH I assumed they meant spirits! It’s the same logic for those skykids though, we give them light to free them & they fly up through the beam on their own. we’re not really guiding them, we’re just freeing them so they can take the same journey we do
We’re fellow travelers, not guides
I just came here and haven't read theories cuz I wanna say mine. Maybe someone said similar thing
I think Aurora is a kinda megabird
And we see how sky children were made.
We were created after that civil war from light creatures
And a had a deja vu when I saw consert first time. Aurora reminded me voice of teller from the beginning. (who said that created us to help spirits)
myeh >:T
Again, I think it would be really weird if someone we’ve only seen visually referenced to tease the season itself had such a large impact on Sky’s world.
Given what we see in the concert and the fact that we don’t have to be reborn after, insinuating she didn’t actually take us to Orbit (& by extension everywhere else) and it was illusionary, it seems silly to interpret her powers as exactly literal and real things that 100% physically happened to us.
Even if that’s the case I can’t see anything that would back this up, don’t even look like twins in the first place, plus if it was true then wouldn’t the concerts be permeant? Seems unfair to shut out lore from new players when the concerts are no longer accessible unless you got the wings
This is also implicitly assuming One has godlike powers which I don’t think is necessarily true either
Especially considering that after each song we are suddenly transported back into our seats as if we all just came out of trance
I genuinely think One was a regular Sky kid who was mistaken for someone powerful cause they passed the trials at a time no one else managed to
I, Skybot, judge of all trials, find @spring python to be a cool Sky kid
Get the hell out of my house
Skybot thinks I’m cool I’m officially cringe
Same here but maybe more powerful light magic wise than the average skykid
Oo i can see that! For me they’re a mix of an elder and sky-kid on my hc, a prototype for the sky-kids that we see in game, but them being a normal skykid can definitely happen
Thinking of ushering skygazers memory 🫶 I really think that’s One
Ooh yeah you two make good points, they do look slightly extraordinary in every concept art they’re in
I'm obligated to mention that twins don't always look the same or even similar but this isn't me disagreeing with you
Yaya ofcorse, just compared to the statues we see of one and seeing aurora I don’t see any similarities
Then again given what skykids do, I can see everyone thinking they’re so cool and special but that’s just normal skykid things, so I’m indecisive
Skykids takes a candle from their chest
The ancestors:😮😧
I think I’d start crying given the idea of what the irl analogy to that would be 💀
Maybe they’re like a “prototype”, so a sky kid except with less limitations
Megabird on the 7th day said let there be a child so unhinged
The only difference I know off of the bat is they wouldn’t have WL so they couldn’t fly but idk about the rest
They're a good climber I guess
Uuuuh they’re shinier. Stargazer never had to pay for light bills again
L wingless ratio
No, unfortunately
maybe, but, as idk who said, maybe alef was like, a """fake""" choosen one, like, the fake avatars in ATLA, and like, very little persons knew about aurora, maybe she is not megabird, but yes at least she has something to do with megabird.
This one? This is the only concept art of Rhythm spirits, however judging by the designs those date back to the Winter 2018 version
Yes this one!
I'm glad I scrolled back to see this 🙂
Here's a whole gallery to all the Korea Assembly concept art that we could find, by Slink: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1wY7KcmVeu3PTqm-a2Ap_xzZ8caAuzbZv
I believe this is the one you're looking for
...
Do you have any evidence for them being the fake chosen one? I mean, they seem to resemble the prophecy murals really well
SHATTERING STUFF
not really, but, the murals were painted by who? exactly,, by ancestors, so, maybe, he was just an skykid like us, but, since he passed the trials that no ona had been able to, he was like kind of worshiped, named king and etc, but he was corruptible, like it happened, but the murals were painted by the spirits that named him king so :/
but the murals are a prediction of the future, that’s why it’s called season of prophecy. How would they be fake if they fit them exactly?
Also can you provide evidence for the parts about them being worshipped and also corrupted somehow
1: yes, the murals are visions of the future, but the murals just say that he would go trough all the trials and become king, but as someone said, no one said what would happene next, or if he had something especial apart from being the first dude to pass the trials,
two: and yes, shall i remind you that he is trapped in eye of eden, that there has been many times (at least that i have heard) that he was corrupted, at least mentally, due to power, like, that frase in spanish that says "el poder se le subio a la cabeza" (i dont know its equivalent in english) he got over confident and started overusing light, in other words, "creating" darkness,
and the worshiped part, literally both in the cave and eden there are murals that show the spirits bowing to him, :/
if my Spanish knowledge is right I think that phrase is more or less "power goes to the head"
right
for clarification we don’t know if the corrupted stuff was canon or not. people used to and still sometimes do just assume it is true but there’s not any evidence for it in the current version of the game (aka, not concept art) and it doesn’t fit Sky’s themes very much to have a singular villain behind everything
Also I get the confusion with bowing, but people do do that to people they don’t worship, like those in higher positions of authority for example
But it does fit to have the reason for Sky’s first demise is created by a singular person, which would only highlight the Skykid’s success.
And yes, I do believe the King/Chosen One is now stuck inside the Void of Shattering
…Maybe? I could see that if it was a mistake or something caused by them failing due to being alone, but if it was caused on purpose, it makes them a villain, I can’t see that at all
yes, and, he was not alone, the elders suported him (at least until tbefore they tried to get the red diamond thingy out of eden), and also the spirits made their part, but he was the detonating thing that made the sky persons to start overusing light
I think they felt pressured to do what they did
I believe the King failed not because they were evil, but because the idea of a single person doing everything alone just doesn’t work in the real world or Sky world.

I remember the days when every morning I'd be backreading 400+ messages
Yeah, now you do the same thing, just in a different server!
Huh?? What different server?
the Minecraft server
What—
I run a Minecraft server
😮
I suppose this channel has less controversy now
I like that controversy is annoying
flies in Gloating Narcissist is like that one friend or family member who wins a whole lot of awards
That sporty cousin that you only see on Thanksgiving
My theory is that the krill were originally light creatures but the crystal or darkness turned them into krill and because they were originally light creatures, they're drawn to light but they can't help but attack/eat us
Also i wanna know y'all's theories about home
Like
What is home
Where is home
Is it a part of the kingdom of sky or is it separate
Ik there's a homelike space in the ||end of Eden just before orbit|| but idk??
What's a Good video on the sky lore
The Sky Map shows home right below Isle
it also shows the trials and orbit as real physical locations in the world, and also a diagonal vault, so maybe not the most reliable source as much as I’d like it to be
But the Sky team clearly put a lot of effort into the map, and it somewhat reflects the old map as well.
I mean… do you think the trials and orbit exist physically within the world? do you think vault is diagonal instead of completely vertical?
i think the map is more how the skykids conceptualize their world rather than it being how it actually works
I don’t get how people seem to discredit really cool things in the Sky world by making it “not real”.
I’m ambivalent about Home being real, I’m just trying to say I don’t think the ingame map is a perfectly reliable source on how the world looks… you can do what you want, I know you seem to be more interested in canonchasing so I wanted to mention that
I don't think children have the best cartography skills
Conspiracy theory headcanon that the concert recruits Skykids to becoming Aurorists
Lol yea, the one who grew up as either a sports person, gymnast, or just one of those regular athletic peeps
well mine certainly got indoctrinated
I mean neither do most adults.
None of them have arial views of the world though so it's understandable
But the children aren’t drawing the map
then who do you think drew the map?
I dont think the maps are supposed to be accurate. theyre like, pictures of landmarks
Megabird /j
idk who you think is but I'd love to hear
So I think after a lot of thought and mural hunting, concert watching, and Eden playing.
I think I like the theory that the world is cracked and doesn't really exist anymore. That Sky is chunks of the earth that merged with the clouds because of how much light interacted with those locations before the explosion.
And now after the concert, Eden hits differently.
I also think Krill could be the embodiment and creation of the amount of death from the war.
The maps are created by the Map Shrines (with the
) symbol on them, and by meditating in places, it fills out itself. I think the map was created by the Light, not the Skykids, because there’s no way the Skykids know what the entirety of the Sky world looks like.
I could see if skykids are reincarnations of their previous selves, I could see them having a hand in creating a map for each other, knowing their next embodiment could find it.
they don't , they only know the areas where the map shrines are
and also they can Straight Up Fly

A thing being “diagetic” means that the thing is useful to both the character (Skykids) and player (us). Meanwhile, a “non-diagetic” thing isn’t really used by the character, only the player.
In my mind, the Sky map (like most other video game maps) are non-diagetic.
even an unfilled Sky map has some things that new Skykids can’t reasonably know
Great article, really helps those who are interested in such things to consider balance between what's just for me as a player and what's for the game.
I think the BEST part about a Game like sky and TGC, is there are a lot of things open for interpretation from interacting with the game. To think a map system was designed within world is a neat idea that's cool to think about creatively.
I believe it's awesome to think Skykids helped will together a map.

Either it’s non-diagetic, or diagetic and accurate. There’s no use gameplay wise to create an inaccurate map
From an ancestor it could look "incorrect" if it's from a skykid.
the inaccuracies could be stylistic, given the whole map shapes out like a diamond, a common symbol throughout the game
Oh! Another thoughts I had, for the longest time I'd been in debate about the rain and water in hidden forest. And HF never really fit into any of my theories.
During the concert there are stars above the hidden grove so the war hadn't happened yet. This also works well with my belief of Sky being chunks of land heavily touched by light.
I think the Jellies are what keeps the water pure in forest. Since we don't see any other ground than the little bubble we fly into and out of surrounding forest, the jelly fish are present and when they're risen from the water, the rain stops.
Just more thoughts :3
The map's one and only purpose is to let us find Lost Memories more easily after getting krilled, it's not supposed to be accurate. That's also why the map only has the signature landmark of each zone rather than accurately showing the different masses of land across the clouds.
I don’t think so, since the new Sky map shares a lot in common with the old Sky map. This extends beyond lost memories, with things like Orbit being in the top left corner or the Starlight Desert being right of Vault.
Desert being to the right of Vault when coming from Wasteland is one of the things that make me dubious of either of these maps ever being meant to be canon and not just stylized concepts/intentionally inaccurate depictions
There's also the chance that TGC just didn't put that much thought into the geography but I prefer to believe TGC is better than that
But eh, the reason some parts of the map just don't make any sort of sense (like desert being to the right or the vault being constructed by Italians) is most likely because those areas wouldn't have fit into the map as well or even at all if they were depicted accurately, TGC very clearly took some creative liberties with this
How dark are the theory allowed to get
Ah...
(the joke comes from speculation on how ancestors extracted the light from mantas to power diamonds, some believing it was crushing them and turning them into juice)
Ok this chats pretty unhinged
you know, even if the map isn’t perfectly accurate, it’s still useful to us… it maps out WL as well as shows us areas in the realm and loosely how to get to them
i still haven’t seen any explanation on your end for diagonal vault which is the main sticking point for me here
Um, so I recently had a very unappealing theory about Eden and why the only people there when we came were children.
In certain anicent cultures children where considered the purest and most valuable thing to exist.
And when times got hard they would ||offer them to the gods/stars,|| usually on top of mountains.
Returning the stars meant that the children would have to "ascend to the stars" themselves, such as ours did in orbit. But the ones in Eden did not succeed. And more children were offered in hopes of appeasing the stars until nothing was left to give
This is just a theory tho, a game theory
You see, Vault being diagonal is confirmation for the existence of Italy and therefore Sky Rome
I will squeeze you between my fists like play dough
I think the vault is depicted as right of GW because it matches the mural in the Isle of Dawn temple of the progress into Sky domain.
(I'm so sorry for the ping, I forgot to turn it off!)
CATHOLIC SHUSH IS REAL AND SO IS SKY ROME. NO ONE CAN DENY IT ANY LONGER
Isn't vault a part of the wasteland
The majority of it is under ground
It's the only "realm" that isn't a realm
It's a building
I think it was at some point.
(Not the underground part)
the majority of vault is underground?
(I don't mind the ping btw, but remember that others generally don't like getting pinged)
The problem isn't Vault being to the right of wasteland... In fact it's literally to the left in both maps
The problem is Starlight desert being to the right of Vault when coming from Wasteland
Oooh!! I see I see!!
I just noticed that too with the desert being to the right when you hook left.
The vault shouldn't even have clouds around it on the map it's literally one solid tower/structure
That map is specifically for gameplay purposes
Also, I know there was some talk of if some thought Home was real or not. There is a stone depiction of home above the big door into the first temple. I think our home with all the gates, might be what they envisioned the stars to be like?
Visually yes, I agree.
I think Vault doesn't really exist anymore, so with our light we're able to see what it was.

(And I only think this more so having just been through orbit. )
I think the post-elder room that leads to Eden confirms vault does exist, just not in it's 'former glory' but rather in a decayed state
Out of all the realms it's the most likely to still exist
The majority of it is underground hence the name vault
The structure you come out of going into Eden is the top of it
I mean, the orange particle thingies could be seen as clouds
Vault does still exist, it’s just very destroyed at the moment. Consequences of being right underneath the center of the explosion, I’d guess
Vault being constructed by Italians is a worse fate than I would imagine
Yes, the decrepit room you exit vault in, I personally believe that is all that is left of vault. Considering vault was a place of deep knowledge and around the center of where light was collected and stored (for whatever reasons, looking at you jars on the wall, I like to think we're attuned with vault so we can see it for what it was like before the explosion.
And once we've been through it and seen, We're magically deposited into this tower before Eden. In all other areas we can visually see where we're going, but vault is the only one where we don't see going to the next place.
inclined tower of vault confirmed?
I think the realms feed into each other
The hidden forest feeds into the Valley, Wasteland is a part of the Valley but is more military based (i say this because in homespace they share the same path, and tgc recently changed the texture of that path to be more visible), the Vault is a part of Wasteland that feeds into eden
Eden isn't even visible in Wasteland so it's safe to assume that Wasteland Is at the base of the Eden mountain
I'm gonna make an accurate sky map someday
What's on the other side of the Eden mountain
¯_(ツ)_/¯
In Zhao’s concept map, the realms geographically spiral around Eden, so there could be various outer realms beyond
the skybox in wasteland is all clouds (can't see anything) a better way to decide that is due to wasteland temple and vault being connected
So where the realms built before or after the storm
Now I have more questions lmao
Before, the Eden Storm is a product of the Eden diamond corrupting.
Also please don’t ping me, it’s in my name
O im sorry
Isle of Dawn explains the ancestors belief of the stars breathing life into the world. Harnessing the stars, they were able to connect the seven realms, then one day the sky went dark (assuming this was when Eden exploded)
How did the diamond truly corrupt is what truly bugging me
I wanna believe it was them destroying there world to advance themselves but that may not be the case
How would that affect the diamond
We don’t know how the Eden diamond corrupted.
Maybe it received too much power and eventually exploded, maybe paralleling to the forest elders which ran out of power and broke
forest elder did what
I was referring to how the forest elders diamond is also broken, and how she was able to fix and power it with light
Dunno how his diamond broke but presumably it can’t hold itself together since it is out of power
And the Eden diamond is definitely holding itself together but it's emitting an insane amount of energy
The diamond may have ran out of power and simply fell to the ground, shattering itself
Baudshaw is not a creative color
???????
Ah
A dhmis reference I see
You just aint good to paint with
Hello~
you know what's cool? The recurrent theme of reliving memories in order to be re-established.
I'm gonna think on this before going to sleep lol
ok skybot
I think the diamond represents the universe as a whole... maybe it unleashed the light and contains darkness to protect us from it, so it only comes out in manageable doses. Something like that
And maybe the dragons are actually protecting the diamond 🙂
Bc greedy humans try to take all the resources~
but they got corrupted with alef's darkstone industry
Oh, I don't know what that is... I joined Sky in November so I only know Aurora's season
And... don't know what other reference that may have been heh
Its not stated that Alef was the one who corrupted the Dark Dragons, in actuality, we don't know the origin of corruption of Dark Dragons, it is debatable whether they came from the waste of ||juicing mantas to create the energy of Dark Diamonds|| or something else (of which I do not remember)
are darkstones a confirmed thing or just a popular fan theory? as in, they were mined up or whatever?
Its a confirmed thing
Its all around the map
its not confirmed that its alefs darkstone industry either - forest and wasteland were likely involved in darkstone production due to the architecture of their buildings
Mhm (and not to mention the similarities of the Forest Temple and the area in GW where we first see a krill)
all I’ve seen is that mining was a thing, not that they mined an evil stone
edit: “evil stone” is tongue-in-cheek. I dont know that I even believe in morality, and I’m aware that rocks dont have thoughts and feelings….
im not sure stones have a capacity for evil ,, its more that the amount of it they were mining became unsustainable
darkstone isn’t evil — it’s a material, it isn’t conscious or moral, it was just used excessively and caused so much pollution when refined into technology
I didnt think they did either thats why I was confused lmao
yeah thats why I thought it was a bad theory, glad to know thats not what people mean
still, calling it darkstone seems weird considering its just rocks
I like to think this too. That the Eden represents the essence of the earth or the universe. Too much of one thing can cause there to be imbalance, thus creating the fracture of the light and goodness
(Figured I'd add that I support a lot of different ideas :3)
Yes, I think that diamond has consciousness of the whole
did anyone ever mention that the lights in the center of the seasonal spirits match the color of the lights floating around their respective realm for the ark rebuild quests
Actually they do! They most likely have a connection with the 4 colored lights they are associated with and it combined with their light in general!
Through the ancestor memories and AURORA'S concert we explore two different sides of memories. This got me thinking about how history can repeat itself if we don't do something to change our ways

And how we can learn from our past just as much as what we should strive for in the future.
If thats not the cause they are a subspecies of light creature
In the switch trailer crab like and krill like creatures of light where featured
I believe they had to adapt to a cruel environment or die trying
The water may have also fried there brains in a way
Cause the light creature in the trailer was a companion and the crabs were skittish
anyway… so what is darkstone? if its not supposed to be a special spooky rock, why is it called that?
Darkstone isn't evil in the same sense that weapons-grade uranium isn't evil. Sure, you could argue that it's "just a rock", and that'd be true, but that's not how it was used
They have special properties that were misused and caused irreparable damage
It's a stone of dark color
raw darkstone is probably blue, actually. you can see chunks of it in the spilled mines at Treasure Reef
I am aware inanimate objects can’t be evil. “evil stone” was tongue-in-cheek.
sinister stone /ref
I was probably used for "evil"
Which gave it the name to people who where against the use of it
buy my sinister potion!
darkstone is prob called darkstone cos it absorbs light. in the absence of light is darkness, hence the stone is "dark."
refined darkstone used in technology is actually called power diamonds.
I believe it's often called "darkstone" because all the darkness and corruption (arguably and allegedly) came from it's production
I’m just trying to understand if the theory is that they found something that inherently corrupts, or if its more of a poetic name. tbh, I think sky isnt about literal lore so much as themes anyway
Eden is a reference to the lost paradise of man
I think that has more meaning than it let's on
wait also have there been any significant lore discoveries since season of assembly (I assume there have) -- I've been super inactive since then but aurora sent me into a sky renaissance period so if anyone has links to some good lore dumps pls feel free to pass them my way bc I was a big lore nerd like a year ago but I feel like i've missed so much
except darkstone technology is not inherently corruptible, just how it used and created caused harm. it's possible darkstone technology could have been used sustainably, but the mass production and scale of it led to ecological devastation.
right. thats what I was thinking. I assumed the darkness was manmade, a metaphor for greed and selfishness
That metaphorical darkness may have manifested into something physical
Us as humans are capable of magic if enough people believe we are
certainly in the universe of Sky, where the people of Sky seem very magically adept, their greed and disrespect for Light/Nature/Harmony manifested as an actual destructive force
I don't think darkness is "evil" too but rather out of balance with light. it's like an invasive species – it is just doing what it does to survive, brought into an environment where it has no niche to keep it in check. darkness seems bad because it hurts us beings of light, but darkness preys on light like wolves prey on deer – it's just attaining energy needing to grow. the darkness is not inherently bad in it of itself, but it's current imbalance, in it's excessiveness, is bad.
(also don't ping me).
I’m gonna be honest I dont know what ping means
I’m assuming it means to use @ name or whatever?
edit: SORRY I didnt mean to actually tag a real person
Yes
I love this analogy!
Too much light can blind you just as too much darkness can do the same
Most things in Sky are metaphors, and if darkness were to be a metaphor for pollution and waste then it probably is inherent to darkstone, but because darkstone was found underground and isolated, it didn't affect anything else until it was mined and refined
Kinda like how radioactive materials are inherently harmful to most living things, but are found underground where they usually don't do anything
what the honk
