I think gameplay wise, we just have the "chance" to see memories associated with the calamity, but it can indeed be other memories
Perhaps the corruption occurs due to artificial manipulation of dark stone? Maybe due to tampering the memory within the dark stone changes and becomes corrupted.
Btw, I'm curious to read your thoughts about the vault, it's the nearer from Eden and still, we don't see any dark plants and about memories, why memories cubes aren't corrupted ?
Maybe ! It can explain why red shards contain memories that big and important
Ive always thought of it as memories being released from broken dark stone and since it is used in all of the known realms that is why we find spirits however then I thought about how the ancestors harvested dark stone and light from light creatures so I thought perhaps when an ancestor dies they turn into dark stone that holds their memories similar to how the player characters turn into statues in Eden. And due to wear have becomes cracked and there contents being leaked. As for vault it was meant for storing these memories and due to the catastrophy some of the crystals have broken releasing the spirit mantas we see and the survivors soon died showing the spirits. I think the stone isn't corrupted there because it was simply fortified to avoid intruders and by proxy whatever caused the crystals in Eden to become red and unstable
But that's just a theory, a ga-
Last night I was looking around and doing dailies in forest and i noticed that the broken bridge area before the temple must have been some kind of bridge system with buildings connecting to each other but it's all collapsed because of trees falling on top of them! I've never noticed that before and it's a cool detail
Also, as I was looking at the map shrines I noticed that you can hear the realm's sounds when zoomed in on them! For example, prairie has bird sounds and valley has people cheering! Very cool also hehe
Hope that makes sense tho
I like this theory ahah, thank you for your thoughts
I watched a game theory about a day ago
Now every time i read a message like this, it's as if I can hear Matpat's voice
I know right?
Indeed ! I never paid attention but the broken bridge is broken because of the trees
And for the ambiant sounds of the portal, I always found it pretty cool
Yes!! I remembered someone mentioning it here somewhere, ill go find it
The bridge has always puzzled me, it looks as if it was destroyed by trees but yet it has the ability to repair itself(take it's original form by activating the darkstone like a MEMORY aaaaaaa) so did the ancestors know the bridge was going to be destroyed?
Is it an emergency system ?
Like I understand the idea of high tech draw bridge but it's just so accessible so it doesn't make sense
Maybe ? Or like a system including the fact that it can be flooded and will need to be repaired
Here's what I found
#lore-discussion-spoilers message
And the fact there isn't anything to repair the final part up to the temple because we have to use jellyfish instead and something tells me they didn't do that when the ancestors were alive
AND WHY IT MAKES THE RAIN STOP
Yes the whole bridge as something we need to look into just because of how obscure it is
Why isn't it finished why is it repairible but only in certain areas, how do the jellyfish know where to go and why does it stop the rain
In this case, the broken part is maybe flooded and we can't reach stones to reactivate it, but the whole thing functionning when you just activate all the stones available make me wonder if the final part was made to be crossed with the help of the floating boats
Ok so I doubt the jellyfish were part of the bridge when it was being used their aren't any remnants of boats(I think) and so how do the jellyfish even know to help us. Even if they were part of the bridge I'd assume they wouldn't be able to remember what happened back then
The answer is probably because they are kind but that's not going to cut it for me
I dont' think jellyfish were a part of it neither
Maybe we don't see any boats but forest is known to using these boats, to carry power stones
We can see boat storage in the first part of the forest
The end of the bridge, where you land after using jellyfish, seems really weird to me, as it is simply/roughly carved in stone and have a weird angle
Why would they even need the bridge?
I'm thinking about it and this might actually make some sense now. The last section of the bridge has walls on 3 sides and candles adorning them perhaps it was an alter and that what the bridge is for and it had nothing to do with entering the temple
Edit: added the word "walls"
Like people came to praise mama forest and that's it ?
Perhaps it was for offerings. It is still directly in front of the temple so maybe it was for offerings to the elder?
It could just be to a higher power as well like the megabird (which is still don't understand)
It means that offerings for mama gives her enough power to stop the rain ?
I can't see my previous message so I don't know if it sent but I'll just re state it.
There is still the case of the jellyfish. There are carvings on the floor of, what I'll be calling, the shrine that seem to depict a constellation showing some jellyfish so the jellyfish still have significance which is baffling.
Sorry
Hmmmm... A possibility although how can mama forest stop the rain if she dead. Are the elders dead? I assumed their cutscenes are their memories but they are just so different I don't know. Now that I think of it orbit doesn't make sense if the elders aren't dead to give you the elder cosmetics.
maybe the elders are in spirit in orbit too
Yeah I think so it's just there memories are more lifelike than any other spirit so they baffle me
well, they're elders, maybe their memories got stored really well in the statues
And the fact their memories directly interact with the player character
They could just be visions and completely separate from memories
Anyway back to the bridge shrine. We know that the ancestors walked through the fact that the bridge exists and memories obviously depicting it. So it seems strange how there is no alternative way to get to the temple.
Reminds me of that theory I had that the forest altar was underneath the mechanism because it was used to generate energy/light with offerings..
So why have a bridge to a jelyfish shrine and not to the temple and why have the jellyfish shrine have the only repairable bridge in the area?
Oooo I haven't heard that but that's sounds interesting.
Did they worship jellyfish? Sounds strange for a society that kills light creatures to create batteries
It was from a while ago but basically, the inside of the forest temple is almost exactly like the concept art for the darkstone refinery. The altar is located where they pressed and charged the stones, so I had this idea it was there because it powered the structure in some way but needed to stay accessible for offerings. A lot of transactions in sky involve offering light (to ancestors, skykids or darkstone machines) so I thought it made sense !
I knew the factory part but that's a good theory considering the alter retracts in the temple
Still puzzles me how the wasteland factory would work
There's some light creatures that tend to be associated with realms; usually they're either first met in these realms (excluding areas that were introduced in seasons) like in Isle, Forest, Wasteland and Vault, or just really prominent in them like in Prairie and Valley.
Birds for Isle
Butterflies for Prairie
Jellyfish for Forest
Mantas for Valley
Whales for Wasteland
Cosmic/Ghost Manta for Vault
I'm not sure why but it does seem like Jellyfish are special in Forest, enough for there to be bells summoning them (see how the Prairie Village bells summon mantas and Wind Paths chimes summon birds).
Did someone have a link/remember a message with interesting theories about the factory and light creatures juices ? I never thought of that that way and I'm curious about reading some theories about it.
It suddenly makes ancestors less kind that I thought :')
Looking for a message in particular or just the concept art that sparked the theories ?
Maybe the concept art ?
I'll search keywords in this channel later
There was a certain rhythm with the bells that summons them perhaps? I have heard a theory where certain chimes attract different light creatures
Here ya go ! From Tom Zhao's concept art, on his site !
https://www.tomzhao.com/sky1
Butterflies are found in Isle tho.
Isle: butterfly
Prairie: mantas
Forest: jellyfish
Windpaths:birds(because windpaths is connects all realms and birds are found in all relams)
Valley: um.... Fireworks... Lol idk there's like nothing there
Wasteland: Whales kinda
Vault spirit mantas(although I think they are memories
Thanks a lot Vela
Oh my god the quality dropped harder than the bass.
Also I think windpaths is its own realm as it has its own "colour" in the map being a mixture of the other realms
Yeah that's why I specified realms may not always introduce the creature they're associated with; Isle Elder prominently features birds, while the Valley is known to have had manta races (Backflip Champion memory). There's rumors the twin masks are meant to look like a manta wing because they're triangle and symmetrical with eachother too, reinforcing the cooperation and competition themes.
True but I think mantas are more prominent in isle as they do have bells for them
Don't worry I visited the website to have HD one :')
Omygosh it's a nest for theories down there, why didn't I go before
https://www.tomzhao.com/sky1
This one is interesting, did you know jade is the toughest of the "precious" stone ? Like you can't break it with easily at all
It means maybe elders are so present during times because of somehow what they're made of
Welp I better ehad to sleep. Goodnight yall love what we came up with tho. Summary of what I did with y'all today. Figure out ideas for why red darkstone exista. Found out a little more context to the bridge in forest end. And a little bit on the forest temple and elders.
Have a goodnight
Happy we found/discussed some things together
It's all concept art so canonicity is debatable but YEAH big fan of the jade elders, they are so creature.
Yup ofc, very interesting tho
Like some concepts have been used in very recent seasons
Why did no body tell me there was concept art talking about memory cubes this is like perfect evidence for my theories. I thought I was being smart but it turns out it wasn't anything new. Anyway I said I was gonna sleep and got distracted I shall sleep no. GOOD NIGHT EVERYONE! hope you all have a good night/ day ahead of you coz timezones and most of y'all are really cool and deserve a good time.
I love the fact that they are specifically called NIGHT memory cubes. Not day, not just memory cubes, NIGHT.
Well, technically, memory cubes are never found anywhere else in the game ||(EXECPT FOR FORGOTTEN ARK, I JUST REMEMBERED THAT 😭 )||
iirc a lot of the time memory cube b (it's design at least) is found in (I forgot the name) the green area you can get to via sunny forest
but it's used to open doors and such... not serving a true memory cube purpose
Hi, i'm from Vietnam and i found a lot of interesting pictures, i'm also a lore game lover, so hi guys!!
I already know a lot of things, and there are some things about the season of gratitude that I still don't understand, can anyone here help me :3?
I'm almost done, only the weasel mask is inexplicable, because before that beta sever only had 5 spirits
I have actually seen quite a bit boat pieces in forest yesterday 👀 (sorry idk if youre ok with being pinged)
Don't worry for the ping, it's ok :D
Do you mean near the temple ? o:
Maybe because jellyfish are 95% water? Idk it makes sense to me
Ooh okay! I mean several parts of Forest! I'll go and take some pictures to show you where i found "pieces of boats"
It’s probably the ones opening the gates in all of Forest area as well, although it’s probably ignored since we can just fly above it anyway
Old topic, but about the bridge looking broken but we’ve been able to repair it, could it be a feature? Like, it was intentionally chopped into several parts so it can be lowered or reattached. As for why they have to do it, I don’t know.
But considering the logger spirit before the bridge, it’s probably normal for trees falling down and breaking buildings, so they have to make a failsafe of smth
Ancestors doing jellyfish parkour
I wish to know what was you memory crystals theory. Feel free to ping me
Mine is that we can insert a memory crystal inside a memory projector (from the left/right opening) and use the last opening to insert a light/flame which will project a ray out the small crystal lense on the back (pretty much like we do when we lit them to make the elevator work
Has anybody considered that this Memory Song/Quest can be from the child (skykid) which will later manifest there as the very same WL we collect on that ramp of stairs? I visit Eden after a long time and saved this Isle WL for last to check how their lighting would mix, but since you cannot spot the WL (even if uncollected) I womdered if they could the same kid
This could be the very moment which left this strong mark on this soul to keep an imprint of them on the spot. Their favorite spot to return to once the (maybe) sky kid failed on Eden climb
possibly! it would make sense given that wl are sometimes calles imprints of the children of light
I'd like to know more about those vitnamese masks on the side. What is the parallel meaning you see in Sky?
If so, then either:
- This child is special and everywhere they go, they manifest their soul.
- They’re part of a group of kids located everywhere in the Sky world who do the same thing.
- It’s just a coincidence
Could it be you already went to Eden and through Rebirth Door? I just finished Eden too and I cannot see it
anymore. It's probably in the map just let moths realize what is the furthest Realm they headed to
A "moth" is a new player. They have brown wings, they flap around uncontrollably, and they are drawn to flame!
I hope it to be either a mix of 2. and 3.
If the Child appears in other memories, maybe we can see if the places they go are the places WL appears.
Well, if you look closer any portal in Home as the passage shaped like different sizes of candles
but I'd never thought of describing that tower as a candle

Then the precise symbol on top of Vault and at Valley race startlines
is the light from the candle ?
An important question for lore chat: why is the inside of this tree tiled
You reminded me of this unspoken question from my moth days, thanks
I’m gonna try looking at the map as a moth (my brother made an account that he never played lol so now I’m using it and pretend I have a relative Sky friend ;v;)
Sky theory:
chibi
Chibis are S tier
Ascend with Chibi
@serene light
Weird how the 2 boats below are engraved on the stone already
I think these are all boat pieces
Since there’s a lot of spikes one the way, could it be unfortunate boats the got hit and broke from impact?
Theres also one in the water where the jellyfish bridge is but i accidentally deleted it
What im thinking is they used these bridges to carry dark stones into the boats and then transport it to the temple factory
Also i have no idea what that round thing is but i thought it was interesting so took a picture
The round thing is a burger /j
Jokes aside, did you tried to glitch under to see if it’s fully modeled? Maybe if we see the full detail, it’s easy to identify
I haven't! I don't usually try to glitch into things
I’ll try it then, where’s the exact location of this round thing?
When you go from the tree tunnels towards the 3 bridges, its on the left side of you
Found it, thanks!
So uhm, bad news. It’s unmodeled at the bottom
But I think I know what it is
If you noticed, it has the same octagonal(?) shape in the middle, and a triangle design on one side
It’s pretty similar to the bottom part of this movable platform in Forest temple. So this could mean that there are not only detachable bridges outside forest temple, but platforms to transport something/someone as well
My guess is that people may have used them to get to the temple from the bridge
…Instead of the jellyfishes we Skykids use today when the entire thing is collapsed
floating platforms in vault are also shaped like that if it helps!
… oh that split diamond pattern on the last picture is very interesting, you usually only see it in wasteland and valley
Oh could be
Split diamond?
You see the pattern on the platform’s side? That. I haven’t seen it outside of wasteland, valley, and (to a modified extent) vault before
Ahh I see. I understand what you mean now. And ye there seems to be connections between Valley, Forest, And Wasteland
Oooooh that makes sense! Thank you for your effort
I have this random idea… could it be Forest temple is recent? If there are moving platforms there, it’s reasonable to assume that they’re going to build an automatic fatory there right? So what’s happening in the bridges area is they’re probably flattening the area to give way to the machines they’re building. That’s why they’re cutting trees and mining darkstones in the process. But since it’s a forest, a lot of creatures are living there. There’s bound to be accident happening especially to creatures confused where their nests are.
Idk just my 2 braincells working on conspiracies
I want to add that they have one reason to build a newer diamond machine. The one in the Wasteland, at the start of Boneyard, there’s a broken diamond creator. For some reason, they didn’t just repaired the place, but made a new one in Forest instead
Hmm i can see where you're going with this
but tbh i don't think it's all machinery because in the forest temple you can still see lots of stairs and there is a path going from the ground floor all the way to the elder altar
Ye it could be a mix of manual and automatic
It makes me wonder, how do spirits drive their boats?
It either seems the top of a jar (some are round in prairie too) or maybe (if my screen resolution allows me) it could be like one of those rounding pads in Citadel, below any Orery spinning in mid air
I drew a path the ancestors couldve used when carrying dark stones to the altar
Ooh yeah maybe
well the season 1 have all culture from some special country in Asia. ex: India, China and Japan
By diamond machine you mean the one lilke the forest temple giant golden "dynamo"? Beside the one in broken temple I've recently spotted one on the way to Eden summit too, near the giant pipe we climb inside.
I belive, since the only thing near summit is just pipes and we found waters inside PNR, it could be that all the temples were not factory for diamonds, but rather hydro-electric powerplant or water pumpling buildings, moving waters from Forest and Wasteland up to Eden for a possible cooling system for the Giant Red Power Diamond
The common point is that these countries have great religious beliefs
WHAT IS THAT
and thatgamecompany confirmed, Season of Gratitude is inspired by a festival of Bhutan, this festival they will wear animal masks and dance to give thanks and pray.
That’s interesting. I don’t see any pipes in Forest tho, so idk if it’s for transporting water. Also Forest seems way too far for Eden
It’s also implied by the Forest Temple door that they do in fact make diamonds there. When we unlocked it, it shows how they build it. If Forest is not for making them, why put a diagram there?
I don't think it's a ferret, it's a combination of many animals because no ferret has a face like that. Most of all in popular culture, mink represents bad things, especially in Asia. and you and I know Jenova Chen, he's from China
The hydro electric pump does explain why there’re blue pipes in Wasteland Shipwreck and Battlefield area though
Imho cause it is with diamonds that they could power the water flow
Those could be middle points/maps that leads up to Eden mountain. There is very much we dont see, for example Golden City could have been alot nore wider and tall than what the ruins we see now after the disaster
I feel like in the forest, the trees are absorbing the darkstone byproducts from the soil (hence the rain/crabs), but in exchange there's no pollution, and (based on the hollowed out trees) at least some of the darkstone can be reused
Golden City? 👀
Whats Golden City? Was that Golden Wasteland before it became a wasteland?
& Valley as well!
What makes me sad is that Teth is probably the most shallow around sky kids because shes still bitter from what Resh did to the kingdom
id think so too cuz technically we are the heirs (kinda) to the kingdom (since we have to restore it and stuff)
It makes me happy when she bows with the rest of the elders in the end. Its like we earned her respect because we showed her that we are not the enemy. She honors us for being brave, and wishes us luck because we have to enter Eden; the very place she witnessed a leader die along with the rest of the people and the kingdom as a whole
i dunno if i can say it here because of a weird dream i had but... something about the vault elder
i saw ships aboard on sea, they were vaults missionaries or something... then the elder spoke telepathically ???? she was warning a priest about oncoming danger but i had no idea what the danger was but i guess that could fuel the lore behind vault
Oooh where did you find that?
in my brain.... i swear i ate a proper dinner and i didnt have a fever it was just so... strange
I think he’s more regretful than anything and not really sure how to show it so he just closes up. There’s a common theory that the rain in forest is supposed to be his tears as they are very connected
poison tears :(
I have stuff about her too and Vault of Knowledge. She looked so sickly and sad when we saw her for the first time, like she was in deep regret of what happened. I also hc that the Vault was built because someone knew that at a certain time, something would go very wrong. And should the kingdom crumble, they would not be forgotten by the next civilization that stumbled across it.
i interpreted the elder as someone who was too... uh
she had too much knowledge and probably used as a weapon
I thought Teth was a woman. Also, the rain is from the storm. Its tainted by darkness and therefore can be described as an analogy for acid rain
teth is up to interpretation but all i know is that they sad :C also boink boink hammer
Everyone in Sky is agender. He/him pronouns are just as valid for Rain as she/her pronouns are. & also, the rain might not be from the storm, as it’s not raining in Valley, which is close to Eden.
i think the rain is just an ecological thing, scientifically speaking
then again i attribute many things about the realms as i would on earth, even when they are not the same
Maybe its cause we are like.. idk mini flames? Water extinguishes fire. Though idk why we dont get hurt from swimming unless the water is polluted. Rain must be polluted somehow
acid rain is a very real thing. poison that lurked in the aftermath of the war and all the crappy things Resh did ruined the quality of rain i guess
can you elaborate on the in game evidence for them specifically doing those things?
The rain could also just be temperature cold, as previously discussed, such as the water in the fire trial, although that only seems to harm skykids once it reaches the light on their chest
i used to be an avid theorist on this game and drew many conclusions. now i kind of forgot them
you could look at golden wasteland for example. its was highly technologically advanced at one point, but it is also the most poisonous realm (apart from eden) in game
in addition, the king's statues are shown towards the elder's temple. Resh may have had major influence on the technological progress in GW which led to increased environmental damage
I mean, I know the world of Sky is filled with darkness, I just don’t get why people say the king did it aside from confept art
we are able to move about freely in valley, which is covered with snow and ice EVERYWHERE
that is a solid theory but idk if its just the rain being cold
Beside having an effect on developping technologies, what did Resh do to feel so ashamed ?
Caused the apocalypse
there could be several factors apart from the king making the kingdom engulfed in darkness
the elders could have contributed
civilians could have played a role
military personnel (im talking the ones we sometimes see in GW) might have also
invasive species, perhaps
the king is not solely responsible. however, since he is the monarch of sky, hes often put to blame a lot
But every elders seems involved to that point, dunno why Resh have to feel more ashamed than the others
exactly
the elders on average seem very upset by this (based on Cutscene interpretation)
we have no whereabouts of the king. perhaps he is dead or just in recluse (like dark cacao cookie /j)
The word is analogy, an anomaly is something out of place that doesn’t happen usually.
Oops, i knew i messed something up
oki lorechat one has returned
i wanna hear your opinions on light blooms. what the heck are they?? my personal headcannon is that theyre the uncorrupted versions of dark plants but i wanna hear your thoughts
I like to think light blooms are what the shush and piggyback capes represent !
Okay so my theory is that Light Blooms are sorta like mushrooms as opposed to Dark Plants’ more flower-like nature. We take in its spores which recharge us, and in return we spread the spores around Forest which helps reduce the pollution in the trees and soil because the blooms use the pollution as nutrients.
in what way exactly?
Hmm, perhaps the beads represent the little yellow bits that fly around us? And the blue and gold/silver represent the silver exterior and the more translucent blue interior.
ooh ok, thank ya
The pipes could be to transport dark water. Dark water is supposed to have existed during that time as evident of the spirit in starlight desert whose ashamed of drinking it.(not sure because starlight desert is a anomaly in itself). Dark water has similar properties to the red darkstone so is it a possiblity that darkwater can be compressed into darkstone or used to aid it the creation of darkstone?
I have a theory that the spirits never learned how to make the wheel. Too many flying boats!
skybot why
No no skybot has a point. The amount of sand in a lot of the realms? Wheels are not so good for sand, they might very well not have invented them, or not as quickly as earth humans did
Edit- I always forget that in valley it’s snow. Wheels don’t grip so well on that either though
id agree with that
many vessels id assume had flying animals attached (i.e. mantas) kind of like horse buggies
some couldve trained the animals to carry them too (i think why mantas kidnap us is that they are so domesticated to be used as transport that they kind of got accustomed to taking people places idk though)
Considering how low Sky’s gravity is, and the Switch Trailer, perhaps boat travel was just a more convenient way
Are we discussing gender of forests rain?
That’s an interesting thought- although I have to wonder whether normal materials would even hold light creatures. Perhaps if they used light in the making of the “harness” materials? As for domesticated transport that could be, though it seems to depend on the manta too, some don’t kidnap at all
i think since sky is a different world then gravitational acceleration would be slightly less than that of earth
probably -8 m/s^2 or something
Oh I thought skids just weren’t that dense lol is it actually the gravity ?
i think theyd use other materials like stone to do it
then again i think the stone and stuff had some light power to it, making it very useful for air travel
Yeah. And tbh if the creatures recharged the light in the stone at the same time that’d be very efficient.
that could be why we can ride the manta buggies in the season of flight area for so long
Oh dang I forgot about those but you’re so right
i still cannot let go of that awful sky dream i had because it just had... weirdly interesting lore
the common theory about skid anatomy is the clayshell theory, which states that skykids are hollow. so they woudln't have that much mass to begin with
The minecarts underwater in the Abyss area have wheels iirc !
But civilizations that thrived without the wheel exist; for example we got the Aztecs in Mesoamerica !
also considering the fact that sky has modes of transportation because it technically is a floating kingdom in the sky (at least parts of them are)
I am coincidentally right next to abyss rn I will swing by and check :D
They do not appear to have wheels actually! More like big baskets with hooks on the front and back. There are diamond patterns where a gem might go though? (Idk if I can post images here)
Muahaha, you don’t know
Look at how Spirit civilization so easily rides boats: Even in the Wind Paths, there’s mantas pulling boats. That simply can’t happen in our world
of course i dont know nobody has said it officially
No no no, you just weren’t around for the Ancient Days when this channel spent 3 days straight trying to solve Sky’s gravity and failing
OH LMAOOOOOO
yall mustve had a physics field day huh
I hate physics irl
Idk if Skysics helps
I imagine the gravity is normal and the sky kids are just super light as the crabs have totally normal gravity it seems
We had so many after that.
Do you want to know the speed of an Elder as compared to a Toyota Corolla?
uhhhh yES
Had a ride on invisible boat which existed long time ago in beta
Sorry for the glitches, my phone can't handle sky plus screen recording
How the boat used to look like
LMAO
sounds pretty darn interesting, hit me
Nonsense!
Huh… Sky’s gravity is low…. Wow my brain just braining as well
The secret to solving the Sky timeline:
||i wuv u
||
welp, here’s what i got done today
it’s not great i did most of it on a plane lmao
I might compile my findings on Vault, dark crystals, light and memory into a doc I'll post later to show what I have found I may also do the same in regards to our findings on the forest bridge, jellyfish and transport to the temple as well.
Question: Do Skykids have a different constelation? It seems like Megabird is interacting wiyh the Skykid Constelations and I think it is adorable
I think manta riding was considered a dangerous sport in the kingdom
Manta yeet whatever on its back with a very strong force if the thing move. In game they yeet sky kids, which is fine since sky kids can fly. But if it's some ancestor that can not fly, it could be a very bad accident
Normal ancestors mainly seen to move by boat, or if they use manta, they sit on a boat tied to manta, so manta can't directly yeet them away. The only one I could remember riding manta is at citadel, seems to be practicing for the race. That manta must be professionally trained or something
Feral manta
I would like to see!
hang on, if there's a map shrine in office, does that mean it's canon now?
Compressing darkwater to make stones? That's a new pov
Interesting. Though I wonder how could this be in line with the the Forest Temple door which is just showing light energy coming from Prairie (in the form of jars of butterflies) and some sort of materials from forest (maybe "darkstone" or maybe crystal "resource" or as some once said even wood)
About dark waters, yes, maybe Ancestor already knew them, but I think most of the lands we see covered with them were not filled with water falling down the pipes from Eden.
I think that back then, when the whole pipes and buildings weren't in crumbles there was no spill of polluted water or maybe there wasn't so much darkness as we see now. So maybe if there were some waste/polluted water it was easily balanced by purifing still waters or even taken under control with Blue Light spells.
The explosion of Eden could have cause a massing earthquake which destroyed most of the realms which then disrupted the balance and maybe even attracted more dark creatures and darkness on the crumbled kingdom.
Funny theory by a fun bot, but even if it was true (and it could be interesting to see a civilian which had no wheel) this argument is invalid.
There are many example of wheels or round things in Sky, ponds just for the simplest, but also the many platforms in Citadel under the golden Oreries (and the Oreries themselves, which are just rings spinning like a wheel) or the spinning bells. I'd even doubt a rectangular door like to exit Forest Temole could be opened without a system of wheels and cogs behind
I doubt it is canon
is skybot canon
What if skybot is actually megabird giving us vague messages/j
mindblown
💀
we need a canonical skybot art
skylorebiblically accurate skybot
Well, there is an Anti-Skybot bible being worked on
Bobbit dumps : They seen a little more....terrifying also once that cats curse spell wears off, a kind of blue light comes out of our heart ( i clearly am the best at explaining )
Whales are so terrifying on the map
Took me a while to understand these were whales
noticed this in the office, are they making? sharpening? a spear
I think that single room is canon, but the portal itself isn’t
#lore-discussion-spoilers message
Here’s the madness. Scroll up or scroll down, there’s math all around

hmmm interesting
Lorechat, gimme trance theories/headcanons, and I'll give you a cookie
||Asking for a friend||
Trance theories?
Example: Theories about Vault being a semi-trance realm (which means some sort of force is causing our Skykid to dream of/ hallucinate Vault as we see in the game)
Gosh I want to read that as much as I don't
Krills was in my skykid head this whole time
So i was just looking at the sky wikipedia pages and i read that golden wasteland was called shores of manna before 👀
"Originally called Dusk, this Realm was changed to Forsaken Desert, Shores of Manna, and then Golden Wasteland."
Fun fact in french (cause that the langage my game is) GW is transalted as the equivalent of Golden Desert
Understandable when you know the equivalent in french for Wasteland, which is clearly laking some poetry
I think its just for fun
Since the Office is full of stuff related to our world and not to Sky world, it's pretty much just a cat but in Sky material
Krill cat
Yes because it's cursing you with that krill spell thingy
Not to mention it can be spread to other Skykids
It's called krill seasoning, don't worry
What do krills taste like then
Your math/physics quest could encounter another pebble along your way. I cannot be sure cause it's just my impression, but I think that skykids can have a tiny control over a small range gravitational field (e.g. when a new wedge make us levitated for the new burst of energy we unlocked, or when we can fall a different speeds ||regular fall seems slower 🪶 than certain emotes fall 🍎 ||) so I think there can be a little discrepancy about your math.
In order to prove this impression of mine I guess we should witness an Ancestor's fall, to prove if sky kids can really fall graciously compared to them. Idk if the Fainting Warrior could be a prove of that (since it looks like a dead weight fall compared to the Slouching Soldier emote lvl 3 - 4)
Or maybe my impression could be disproved. Maybe the different fall of sky kids is just cause by different kind aerodynamic 🍃
It could mean that there are different wind currents. For examples there are places where gliding can lead you to a slow and long distance or either fall faster (e.g. Prophecies Cave after the Fire Quest) so we need might need a void... A physically accurate one
or we will end up mess up calculus like Galileo Galilei did when he couldn't prove that a feather and an apple should have fallen at the same speed...
Or maybe he didn't exactly used those, but rather 2 different spherical weights (iirc there was there the weight misconception of gravity back then)
hunger
Oh no dont start the physics again
theres probably a gravity value in the game's engine tho tbh
In russian it translated like empty place word
Equal to wasteland
in spanish it's golden ____, the blank being this biome i don't know the word for
Fun fact about eye of eden
In russian it's called a Heart of Edem/Adem
Dunno which translation is the best honestly
Oh like a swamp ?
it's like a cold mountain biome
Weiiird I like these differences in translation
at least it's always golden
Swamp is actually a good description of GW as I think of it
It does remind of the existence of the King, which is cool
I actually think all these differences comes to old translation that have never been corrected
Damn I Googled russian word wastelan
And I've got some interesting explanation
'desolate (empty of people), an abandoned territory where a settlement once existed, abandoned by people due to war (invasion), famine, the death of the last owners or the disappearance of water sources.'
Makes sense
It's pretty accurate to what we think happened to GW
My aunt said Sky have some huge hints relatable to bible
I share this opinion
A friend reminded me that this word was used in an old translation
Sky takes inspiration from a lot of cultures !
Christianity tends to absorb and steal symbols from other cultures to better assimilate them (see what they did to the celts) so a lot of symbols that are widely spread tend to be seen by christians as theirs.
Maybe, I can see why, but can't really point what's related to religion and what isn't
Hehe you right tho
I'm not Christian just saw the similar thing
You could relate the rebirth cycles to the cycle of samsarah (buddhist and Hindu beliefs) too, the ancestors even seem to pass down their material belongings (or at least their shape) to skykids before ascending. One of the main things of the cycle of samsarah is that you gotta escape it by letting go of material things.
A few seasons are also based off other cultures, off the top of my head we got arabic for Enchantment, chinese for Dreams, mongolian/native american for Flight and vikings for Abyss.
Another thing about russian translation in game I remembered
Vault is more like storage of knowledges
The big storage/storage facility/repository
So the spirits are enlightened beings in a way
though they can still visit the lower world, so I'm not sure if it's exactly the same as nirvana
I noticed some Mongolian patterns in one spirit's clothes from abyss
As a moth I thought the spirits giving you cosmetics was them letting go of material things before ascending to Orbit. They'd be leaving the old world behind for you to inherit their legacy.
How could skykids get enlightened I wonder?
Wow I like that theory
What could a skykid do to make themselves worthy of never descending again? (or if never descending makes them unworthy)
I like to think in-universe skykids can choose not to descend and rejoin the Light. Wont get thst in game cos they want us to keep playing
Helping to the all spirits I guess.
Somewhen (I wanna cry when I think about it) Sky will come to the logical end. No reason to making it larger infinitely. Maybe it will took some more years. For me the map already seems kinda fooled enough.
And rebirthing part after the end of game evolution would be only have sense in industrial meaning (people playing, devs get money)
Yeah, I have that thought.
I have wondered what the skykid race would do once they ascend everyone
no one to ascend but themselves right?
Skid's meaning is sacrifice. They literally made for this (As sad as it sounds). This stated at the beginning of story
So, unfortunately, yes
When Sky ends, the world we knew will be left as an empty husk... if Megabird doesn't end up wiping it out Themselves
I think we will clean world wrom darkness and it will become the light
And then will be possible made a new world
New civilization
One of my portrayals of Megabird is a god who has tried creating a perfect world numerous times, but failed
I need to re-watch first cut scene
How much could I remember someone asking us to return fallen light back and clean the darkness
Apparently whole world can become a part of a Megabird at the end
-sobbing-
Honestly not the worst ending
The worst ending would be skykids somehow managing to pick up all the ancestors' mistakes and Megabird repeating the generational cycle over and over again with increasingly smaller creations
The worst would be - Our efforts were in vain and Eden will explode (like in shuttering season but more) and whole world, including the Megabird, will be absorbed by darkness
The only think skykids are explicitly asked to do is return the spirits the stars
Um sounds sad
That's what they're made for! :D
My friend has a theory that sky kids is made of clay and have light inside
It's a commonly agreed-upon theory we've got here. :D
Clayshell theory my beloved
I have a concept for a Sky OC who abhors their own existence and thinks ascending every spirit will make them worthy of never descending again
So they torture every spirit they find until they subdue them for ascension
But yea, I doubt skykids are supposed to “purge” the darkness. On one hand, they can’t — they’re too small. On the other hand, even if they were capable of such, that’s not what they were asked to do. Pushing back darkness a bit may be a necessity in order to find and ascend spirits, but there’s never a push to obliterate darkness. Even some places have natural darkness like the abyss in Treasure Reef that we cannot “fight” against.
Do you see darkness as bad or merely it’s excess bad?
As to why they use torture? It's partially because they think it's faster than friendship and partially because they're projecting
Fruitzie im worried u might beaned for that
erp...
Most spirits seen glad and grateful for skykids. Perhaps that’s why skykids are kids, their childlike presence unassuming and trustworthy. Torture seems utterly unnecessary
Okay guys
That was a great discussion in my fav channel, but my brain melting and I need to sneep snorp, as skybot said to someone
See yall around
Have a nice time!

Nah, the torture is just because in comparison friendship is a slower way to go
I believe is a necessary balance
Hello, I would ask you to not talk about torturing spirits here as it’s a really uncomfortable implication and many of us here are attached to them, thank you
Yeah i warned u fruitzie u gonna get beaned
I understand, I'm sorry.
hiya lore chat!
also yeah fruitzie. not wanting to dogpile but please keep it in mind
Are you sure? As I mentioned before, spirits seem fond of skykids from the get-go. For many, they head to Elder temples to ascend soon after we rescue them. Torture, again, seems utterly unnecessary.
Fixed unfortunate typo
I think u mean UNnecessary
I thought they ascended when we gave them ascended candles ngl
I think the ascended candles is a gameplay mechanic cos other pieces in game imply that spirits ascend at the Elder temples or alongside us after Eden. They’re physically in Orbit. I would deem that ascended.
What would the golden sheen imply?
That they have joined the Light. I like to think they achieve that golden sheen once they reach Orbit.
I've thought for a while that the reason we had to give them candles was so that they could use them to pray to Megabird.
Also, do you think having a canonically morally gray ancestor/spirit would ruin the themes of Sky?
depends what you mean by that
No. Arguably we have had spirits who didn’t quite trust us immediately — Abyss crew. Though I would like to see more cos it would show more dynamic characters rather than those who outright trust us immediately. It’s more human. I don’t envision nor want spirits being violent towards skykids nor the other way around, that would be antithetical to Sky, but the characterization of spirits would be less flat if some didn’t love us right away.
I guess I would set the bar at it being someone who knowingly does/did bad things but has standards and/or has good intentions behind them
All of the spirits we've seen so far are either relatively sinless (when it comes to canonical content, not unproven theories) or they screwed up unintentionally/did things out of hubris, but didn't intentionally hurt others
I like to think the friendship trees with the spirits and the things we receive by offering us candles are a representation of bonding with the spirits. We are not purchasing their stuff, they are gifts or gratitude. We merely give them light do they can make those gifts for us
Though I suppose that actually showing intentional sins might break Sky's rating so there's that
Sky in my country's language has the 18+ rating, maybe the censorship moderators did read the lore
(another game I know went straight from 0+ to 18+ after showing war and a character get murdered)
I think the game's lore is obscure to keep the global age rating low
Or the rating may just have something to do with the IAP price
appears I am 100% convinced that at least one spirit has been startled by a skid just teleporting in
holy crap 18+???
ok to be fair the game as SOME suggestive themes but... damn 18+...
I am convinced that skykids could just be walking winged lights, but Megabird decided not to do that because this situation would happen (the mortal human is the Ancestor)
I do see the presence of it as bad. Given the theory that they steal memories, I don’t think Skykids would keep them if they had the power
And ‘murican for Assembly
DONT START IT UP AGAIN ITLL LEAD TO OUR DOOM
Oh btw guys, did someone have nice theories about abyss big old fishy ?
Or at least the more common word to refer to it, I'll look up in discord search
Words include:
leviathan, shadow leviathan, dark leviathan, great leviathan, Levi, Ruby, king krill, mega krill, Kraken Leviathan, Big Fish, giant fish, krill mother, elder krill, Many Eyes, fluffy, Spikey, Jorm the Worm, Many-Eyed Beast, Gerald, Greg, The Big Guy
I usually call it "eel"
That's a good list you got there, I like Greg
Thank you, I'll dig into my researches
Skykids are basically archangels in little vessels confirmed /j
That's why the clay is for, hiding all the eyes
There were moments where my skid is glowing for no reason (without a spell too!) and my mind went from whatever to "Why am I so bright?????"
My light is trying to escape
that might just be the incredibly large amount of bloom in sky
My light just starts glowing like a lightbulb
I call it Charlie
Source: it was revealed to me in a dream
my favourite headcanon/theory is that skykids are like ferrets, they aren’t really scared of anything and would probably poke krills if they were able to
Ferrets given human form
I’m still thinking about that theory that winged lights are imprints of sky kids when they have a particularly striking memory because that’d mean stars are a discord starboard
I usually just call him Hungry. >.>
Like your names so much for the Leviathan omg
Yes! The temples are clearly inspired by Tibetan buddhist temples
Ok eyes sore to read that fast only to catch up theories for ONE day
I'll come back to it laterz but people were theorizing about where is located the abyss season if we imagined a map, and now that we have a map, it's pretty accurate to their guesses
Little lore genius out there
pops in Popstars in Sky
Technically we can! And if we fly away real good and then spin to one side when they charge, they can’t even get us for it lol
We go Zyoom
Yep!
Can you imagine them traveling from realm to realm singing and dancing and such?
Already exists, look at Aurora and the Rhythm musicians
OOOOOOOO about to bop to some Rhythm music
The season with the best music is still undoubtedly Prophecy, unfortunate that not much people have listened to their banger Prophet themes
Felt
I LOVE the Prophecy music
Earth Prophet’s theme beloved
Oh hey they moved the Proud Victor and Bowing Medalist memories, and I think the latter even got updated poses with ice skating tricks
Victor is now sliding (and tripping) on the red carpet while medalist is starting on the blue side :]
getting emotional; the season was such a magical time for me
OOOOO I WANNA SEE
glad that my Victor headcanon still holds up
Btw I know the dark cat isn't canon but it's making me think things a lot, dark creatures in sky tend to be based off solitary/aloof animals (crabs, dragons and now cats) and yeah...
Maybe there's unnatural/sick darkness (red shards, krill, hostile crabs), and natural/healthy darkness (cyan darkstone, passive crabs)...
Agressive dark creatures could result from trying to turn light creatures into dark ones (maybe it generates energy) by isolating them from the light
Which isn't natural at all
Could flip this the other way around and say trying to force a dark creature into the light would kill them
Kinda like forcing you to socialize when you're out of spoons, or the other way around, being forced to stay alone for a long time
they’re actually a very skilled athlete, but that incident haunts them forever
Copypasted from here ⬆️ but relevant
I got the idea [from the dark cat that was in beta at the time] that there are dark creatures that are in pain if not straight up unnatural (krill, dark crabs) and healthy dark creatures that are just vibing (those crabs in sanct that are just little guys and dont attack)
im imagining light creatures typically are herding/flocking/schooling animals (birds, mantas, fish) since light is social, bonds, links eccetera, so naturally they seek out companionship
on the other side, healthy dark creatures would be in the image of solitary animals such as crabs, moose, leopards, lizards and so on, because darkness prefers solitude
and both are healthy given the circumstances of the organisms ! and we also have that duality within ourselves even as social beings, sometimes you need to be alone, oppose the majority or stay strong to not go with the flow
hi I adore that idea
Hiya that's a cool idea indeed
uwu
I really want a dark moose now, with glorious huge, dark and red shard antlers
maybe not red, since red darkness usually represents pain(?)
hey, hey! I have a theory!
alright, let’s hear it!
Every time I hear prophecy music I start getting so emotional the beloved season
Given crabs can ascend, can we even consider them dark creatures?
We don't know if Orbit is exclusive to light creatures or if dark creatures are entirely made of darkness; perhaps passive crabs have some light in them.
I thought Orbit was referred to as "The Light" in-game, so maybe it is exclusive to light creatures, maybe even natural non-light creatures have light in them... Or perhaps all animals were light creatures all along, who knows
We know there are uncorrupted crabs, so it's possible the soul gathering did it for them too
If so, would light crabs and dark crabs be counted as different species or as one?
Skybot just. 🦗
AHGSJAGAHGS
They'd be one, I suppose
Dark crabs are crusty dusty light crabs
I think crabs are just crabs. “Dark” crabs simply have more darkness that makes them hostile
all type of creb
also henlo lorechat
Back onto the topic of the purpose of sky kids, coz I missed the original convo, I think they will forever be reincarnated until they uncover all of the worlds secrets. I believe that they were sent down by megabird to gather information about the civilisation and return the souls of its people to the stars once that is done the sky kids can then ascend to the stars and stay there until another civilization falls. Pretty much the skykids gather archive all the history and events of a fallen kingdom, fulfill the spirit's unfinished business and learn new fashion to bring to the stars before megabird completely wiped out the world and starts it anew
hi I missed a lot here, curious to read 👀
This is just a silly little thing but.... okay so the bat and spider capes are pure black right? Little to no light reflection? and theyre basically the Spooky Scary Halloween Capes...
... do skykids find vantablack to be scary. i think thatd be neat
I think skykids would have nightlights that they wouldn’t be able to sleep in it personally
imagining a skykid’s bedroom ceiling covered in those little glow-in-the-dark stars
Have you guys ever seen on hostile crabs, there is black particles on it, and on the passive ones, they do not have it.
Could this mean there could be a nice krill then, cause there is also black particles on it too…

FALSE PROPHETS WALK AMONG US
maybe
Unless krills shed and the particles are it's skin and the skin can corrupt the mind on lesser beings hence why crabs covered in it are evil and those that aren't are nice. And when we pet the krill cat it puts all it's skin all over us but because we have more light than a crab does it doesn't do much except make us look funny, that could also be because the cat is not krill enough for it to happen. Haha
why did you reply to that? interesting point tho
Oop that was an accident
I clicked on the other message it must have registered wrong lol
Could Butterfly fields have been a site of a big market once upon a time? I would love to go shopping!
i was dreaming of this!
Probably
wassup im here to be "beaten up" with lore by @sharp lichen
Among us
- starts beating you up, literally *
I can't wait to see the show.
Oh, the cooldown here is kinda long.
Also it's me, "idk the lore I say dumb stuff", if any of you still remember me
Who?
it would be hillarious if this was just a trap to just attack Lucho
"HE'S DISTRACTED, GET HIM"
Exactly
It's because you've got a very controversial take on the recent seasons so they set up a trap to beat you up senseless
When is the beating tho like cmon we're only here for that
well, where's the trap, i see only you and 2 spectators

D R A C A R Y S
@sharp lichen when
all "its a trap" memes aside
they're probably getting ahold of all the info
they said they were gonna show me like all plot elements from previous seasons and assuming their tone it seems like a lot
Oh yeah, it is a lot.
There are like a bunch of documents filled with lore and links and secret knowledge of concepts from a trash can from 2009
And it's not a joke (except for the whole 2009 part)
I actually started hearing about the development of Sky:Cotl since 2012 💀
And it's pretty funny how most of the lore comes from the concepts and comparing them to the actual game
imagine if baudshaw just drops the entire lore of sky on me lmao
that would be funny
It's because the game doesn't narrate with words. TGC left the investigation part to Players 💀
Honestly i would too, but I don't think i can dump it all on you in just one big text wall without reaching the character limit
It's literally what's going to happen
idk if u read my giant textwall but i said how good it was that TGC made subtle elements that showcased the story of sky
but those elements need to be boarded and be elaborated on
im no profesional writer and dont think i want a cutscene that suddenly makes all theories canon
but TGC needs more involvement on building the story they have written, if they dont, players will loose interest and i genuinely think sky has an excellent story to tell
Lore:
Skykid -> king
Everyone likes
King explodes battery
Everyone dies
Everything corrupted
More skykids fall and fix
Also animal exploitation for power sources and a war or something
its fantastic how TGC somehow manages to add so many subtle details into the game
And even more amazing yall here manage to build such complex and big plotlines based on this hints alone, i myself spent hours here on lore chat discussing said hints
but yeah after 3ish years, i think its time TGC starts finally clearing up the fog a bit, to make the story more intriquete yet clear to understand, which will atract more users to the lore
I still belive megabird can be used as death star from star wars
I'm going to sleep brain overload
Hello, beta spoilers aren't allowed in this channel. Only live spoilers are allowed l.
this is really interesting, so you propose the fact the "spirits" are the phases of life of a single entity which experiences loss
reminds me of gris at some degree
im not playing sky anymore so idk anything about the lore of AURORA
well now that message is gone
oh it was beta, hmmm
should i delete this?
Well good thing i made a text wall that's live version Friendly then

Wait, what?!
The reason why all Aurora spirits are wearing the same pants is because they all came from a single ancestor but they all represents different memories.
Running Wayfarer represents childhood. Mindful Miner represents their teen years. Warrior of Love represents adulthood and Seed of Hope is probably their mid-30s.
Also the spirits are closely tied to the memories that they remember clearly during the time they were alive. This ancestor has 4 spirits, which means they remember 4 impactful events in a single lifetime.
I'm not going to discuss what those memories are ||cuz spoilers||, but you'll have to see it for yourself when the other quests comes out.
that or they're 4 spirits that match pants /j
i played a bit of AURORA during beta and i honestly thought of those spirits as people who worshipped AURORA
now, that directly goes against with my idea that there are no gods in sky
but well, i honestly think all of AURORA aint canon
I think the same thing about AURORA worship except for the not canon part
my "non canon" thingy is literally just me being unable to fit AURORA into what ik of the lore of sky
same goes with TLP, at most i can see the starlight desert as some sort of mental purgatory but aside from that i cant really think of it as canon
I think Aurora only represents the voice that guides people on their journey. She's not a character, she's just an entity that's not part of the Sky world
interdimensional being?!?!??!
this confirms the existence of spotify in the sky kingdom
spiritfy?
She probably represents the narrator that talks to us in our moth days too. The one that shows us where to go in Isle ot Dawn
Yes, Spiritfy. I love this

okay i never saw that feature on that way
it sort of makes sense and its an interesting idea
i always dismissed it as just a feature but well, we're so starved for lore that we will just imagine anything into our concept of lore
Yeah, i think it was only added back in 2021? 2019 skids never had a narrator talking to them during their moth days. That means moths who were born in 2021 are all schizophrenic and is hearing the same voice in their heads since the beginning
I think if AURORA were to be worshipped, they'd be worshipped as the physical manifestation of Megabird's voice/beak
LMAOOOO
canonical mental illnesses noooo
another iteration of the concept known as megabird
its always interesting to see the religion in sky
At the same time I think there would be some ancestors who worship AURORA as her own being
YOOO, RELIGIOUS DIVERISTY IN SKY LETS GOO
ive always believed that there were multiple iterations of the "megabird" concept
the idea exists but the giant bird in space doesn't
just like us, spirits try to understand what's beyond them and they do this via religion and beliefs
I have a bigger theory about AURORA but canon
what's stopping ya from sharing t here fella
I've shown it a few times but I revised it a bit
The four spirits are the Prophets' best students, and they ended up creating their own mini-prophecy predicting the existence of a musical deity known as the AURORA. This prophecy became popular among musicians and performers, and some even claimed to have visions of the AURORA, but they were subconscious and couldn't be proven.
One day, the four student prophets decided to go on a pilgrimage to find a way to prove the AURORA's existence, AKA finding a way to show her in the conscious plane. They succeeded in that department, but the Eden apocalypse struck, killing them all on their way back. No one knows how or why, but the darkness took their voices as well as their memories.
In the present day, they were able to bring AURORA to the colloseum for everyone to see. They pray for AURORA to return their voices, which is what AURORA guides us to do.
The spirits' lost voices manifest as memories contained in AURA fields, which AURORA reveals to us. Without the spirit, the voice cannot resonate, so AURORA sings the words it would say.
okay
i love this
I WAS IN THE SHOWER
Ok here goes:
yooo, wb fella
and so the writing begins
This better be canon.
This theory is just beautiful 💖💖💖
quick question
and how do the tales of the spirit's themselves add up to this theory? /g
salem did not see the ingots on their screen lmao
that is a very small sky kid
They short
Start praying
I think they're revealing what really happened to the world of sky on Their own perspective. I think the Aura ball memory relive is actually longer than all types of relive and provides more information about the spirit's life rather than just chase them around.
Also in Wayfarer's memory, everyone appears to be migrating from the Isle of Dawn. I think that's the reason why it became so empty in the first place.
Nah, ill be fine dw
MY INGOTS 💔
I have also spent insane amounts of time in this chat, got nothing to fear neither loose
Quite in fact i got to earn considering imma see theoties that i may have not seen before
All the post-dreams lore (this is a heavily truncated version):
Assembly spirits were inspired by the Lightseeker spirits and looked up to them in-game.
The Starlight Desert was significant enough to get its own wind path connection, meaning that it served a purpose. Given how the spirits are in chains, it could be some sort of prison.
The Wind Paths effectively debunked most time-loop related theories, since now we know that time in the Sky world acted/acts like the time in the real world. Shattering confirms this further.
The Wind Paths also show that the realms were far more interconnected than what was thought.
Darkstone is now confirmed in Live to be a direct product of mantas, thanks to the season of Abyss.
Red Light, from the season of Enchantment, more accurately represents “concealment”, given that the red light symbol appears on the Performance stage as fog.
Performance also confirms that non-seasonal guide spirits can stay around in the Sky world for as long as they want to.
Shattering shows that the Eden Diamond is a form of the Void of Shattering, and that it likely contains the soul/body of the King, given the final memory. The shattering poems also give us a lot on the nature of darkness and how the Eden diamond attracted both light and darkness to it.
perish
So yeah, the aurora balls reveals more lore. And Seed of Hope's POV is a huge lore dump.
pssst, beta spoilers aren’t allowed in this channel, even vague ones
Not sure yet
Will have to WAFO for now
Edit: I think they're just like regular spirit memories, but with ✨ singing ✨
That might change tho
puntable but i would never do that
just because someone is able to be punted does not mean they should be punted
The assembly thing was smth i didnt know, if true confirms continuity, small one, but existant
As ive said times before i also think the starlight desert serves as a sort of prison/purgatory, its personally hard for me to fit into lore cuz TLP yadayada
I 100% agree with windpaths, highways of the kingdom, proof of their development
The performance spirit thing is honestly smth i didnt think of, neat concept ngl
Do mantas really produce darkness?? Im genuinely shocked if that were to be true
The shattering memories indeed showcase the fate of elders and perhaps the king, i know that. About the poems, never knew abt them, any way i could access them?
Also i think the chains on their body actually represents their responsibility. They're literally not allowed to do anything else because they're bound to their duties.
Gloating Narcissist's duty is to entertain, The Frog king from Shrek is entitled to lead his people, Lamplighter has to guard the Lighthouse with his life and Star Collector collect stars because it's the only thing he's good at.
@sharp lichen as you said yoi probably summarized many messages of discussion thank you for the message, while i knew most of em, i didnt know abt the Abyss-performance and shattering poem ones😎👍
recently finally obtained the chibi mask after many years of playing. put it on. shrank by a single inch
Specially cuz of the fact i didnt really play both abyss and performance so that adds up to me not knowing lmao
No, the Mantas produce light. It's the other way round. The Abyss lore is basically
-
Ancestors use Manta's light and put it in their diamond batteries.
-
Because of this, Manta loses their light and dies ||(or turn into dark manta?)||
-
The Giant Leviathan from the deep was once a light creature, but it's light was absorbed into a bigger battery (possibly the diamond from Shattering)
Oooo
That makes a bit more of sense
And yeah i also think spirits extracted light from well, light beings, to power their industrial infrastructure
i might have to find the quote but it’s confirmed that the chains represent their vices, not duties. also, it’s not confirmed yet that the leviathan was a light creature once — there is evidence for it and I think it was — but calling it 100% canon is a bit misleading, considering it could be a natural dark creature
I have the notion that the Starlight Desert as we see it is an illusion and the land it is projected on probably had a pretty important purpose, but we won't know what it was
The only proof i could think of is the similarities it shares with other giant light creatures we see so far
(Mainly FEESH)

Side note, you don’t have to ping me when replying! /nm
another proof is if you think it’s the giant eel-like creature in this mural, which looks a lot more visibly light creature than the leviathan. we know corruption twists light creatures to great extents, as krill are unrecognizable from their previous states, and so this creature has a possibility of being the leviathan. I vote it is, for Chekhovs gun reasons
Exactly! Also look at it's fins. It's round unlike it's possibly dark counterpart which is spiked
once again, please don’t ping me when replying!
So i guess your theory about darkness mutating their physique is actually not that far off (also sorry, it's a habit 💀)
It’s understandable, I know people do it a lot in the discussion channels. I actually think darkness twists light creatures really, really far. I have a headcanon that krills are a bunch of mantas that fused together, actually
& a theory that crabs are corrupted jellyfish but less immediately interesting
Oh yeah hold on, Krills actually does share a resemblance with a one light creature. It's from the Nintendo Switch Trailer for sky. Hold on lemme take a quicky screenie
in concept art for the trailer it resembles krill even more
This one is probably the Light Version of a Krill. It has the same headlights as them and just like i mentioned before, light creatures have round fins
idk where i saw the animatic but
I always imagined krills to be genetically modified for warfare
Perhaps the properties of darkness were harnessed and used to transform them to centinels
Yeah but think they failed on that part because now, it attacks everything that moves
Perhaps that was the final order given to them
"No one shall pass"
A desperate order when the frontlines collapsed
Only The GW Elder can stand a chance against a Krill due to their build and incredibly versatile heels (not only can he slay krills, he can slay too 💄👁️👄👁️💅)
Well, krills do patrol GW and eden, they defend it
GW elder also defends the entrance to the temple
My belief is, GW elder, whichever army controlled the krills were on the same side
And its only when the gates to the GW temple are open is when krills bresk formations and rush to patrol the entrance, to neutralize any invaders
I guess so, but then the Sky Kids came. The only creatures who are built to survive an encounter with a krill.
Has both the qualities of a light creature and the dark body of an ancestor (i made a theory that Ancestors are actually Dark Creatures)
i am on a quest to find this animatic, im 80% sure it was an official one for the animation project
||AND THIS IS WHY SKYKIDS WILL KILL THE KRILLS||
You mean this??
https://youtu.be/KxHFy9503N4
i remember seeing one that was an animatic for that and the light creature they were riding on had horns
I seriously hope we can, with the fireworks staff.
ok i give up, but i know it exists
Here it is
YES YES THAT ONE
where's it from lmao
Switch release trailer storyboard. I plucked it from here, idk the source
Hey, I just noticed this, but I’d deeply appreciate if you didn’t make cheap jokes at the expense of other peoples’ very real mental illness. Thank you.
Bro what
beaned
Hey, schizophrenia is a very serious mental illness that shouldn’t be joked about so casually. You’re also perpetuating misconceptions about it cos there’s a lot more to schizophrenia than hearing voices.
a rule of thumb i tend to follow is just not to make anything based on mental illness. if i wanted that idea id just say "megabird didn't start talking to them until now"
or just a retcon
what do you mean by stuff you’d base on mental illness? you don’t have to avoid the topic entirely, yknow
like i wouldnt attribute a trait to mental illness and/or generalise it, but there's nothing wrong with making characters with them
not all moths are schizophrenic, u cant generalise and say that since, well, they're players. it'd be up to the player how they want their character to be
You can have mentally ill characters, just don’t demonize them for those traits. Sure, they can still do bad things attributed to their symptoms, but keep in mind that mentally ill people have been so vilified already that many think mental illness is a moral wrong or predisposes one to violence when really it’s just a form of neurodiversity and they are more likely to be victims rather than perpetrators.
Megabird went like "Why am I leaving my children to fend for themselves? I have to teach them something!"
p much yeah
i’ve had the isle narration trigger randomly, it was very strange
Megabird is giving a review for free :D
For instance, I have a character who could prob be diagnosed with an anxiety disorder and they’re a jerk, but their past is explored so you can understand where their paranoia comes from and why that manifests as being mean
Oooo new Alasdairverse lore!
alasdair, i will be real with you, I think it is way more than just one anxiety disorder. In fact I think they have singlehandedly invented several new anxiety disorders yet unknown to us
New anxiety just dropped
Hikemasu’s anxieties vs Dusk’s depressions
new wasteland civil war just dropped
eden trauma is also very real
What happened to Hikey occurred in the Wasteland so arguably that is their Eden trauma
We sharing trauma like Pokemon cards
the hopelessness of going to eden and never getting any closer to the end
death
rebirth
do it again
but friends can help
i got soup
average group bonding activity in golden wasteland
calling my ocs by their full names like i’m a parent talking to their teacher
interacting with ocs is either "nobody hurt them" or "i will hurt them"
fable “must be protected at all costs” vs acheron “is anybody gonna shard that guy”
"this is my child i will protect them with my life"
"what if he got corrupted by the darkness lmao"
in fairness, fable is very small
We talking about traumatized skykids?
(holds up atlas, my king interpretation)
holds Amander & laughs
if i see anyone making fun of mentally ill people im going to attack them like a feral animal, can we talk about the starlight desert without having to remind people to be sensible about that stuff
I will be fully honest, any interpretation that revolves around the tlp spirits being ‘scary/weird’ because they’re in a bad situation (ie starlight desert as an asylum, prison, anything adjacent) is really uncomfortable to me
It's becoming common knowledge not to call things "autistic" in a derogatory way, let's extend that to other mental illnesses as well
the fact that asylums and prisons are in the same category here is very telling imo
i dont think that person meant any harm 😭
doesnt meant they arent perpetuating something that does
whether or not they meant harm, perpetuating the notion that people in prisons and mental institutions are Other is harmful in and of itself
Just cos you didn’t mean harm doesn’t mean the harm you did cause didn’t happen
Yeah, it was hard for me to figure out how to phrase it because I was ehhh about comparing the two, but honestly and unfortunately they are very similar, especially in the way they are treated within this channel’s context. i get the same pit of dread in my stomach seeing tlp lore compared to either
Hard to formulate a clear boundary between harmless and harmful headcanons at 5am, but my take is that yeah, the TLP spirits aren't the happiest because they're based off adults that got lost, doesn't mean it's appropriate to joke they were put in psych ward prison by scholars just because of it.
On what sparked the convo, joking this lightheartedly with something serious out of nowhere is pretty 😬
honestly i think the starlight desert is just... a place. a normal ordinary part of the world like most other areas in the game. since the spirits there r like the only ones with dialogue we cant even 100% say for sure if theyre quote on quote """weird""" or not. could just be normal ancestor stuff hypothetically speakin yknow
we just happen to get some crossover stuff there! so maybe its a dream maybe its a special place maybe its just. like that!
those spirits spoke to me a lot, especially being almost 21
they mean a lot to a lot of us, that's one of many reasons it's important not to use them to push harmful narratives
i dunno if it was the first quest or the second but it made me sob
i hc that starlight desert is a place where the barrier between worlds is thinner, as is suggested by the entrance text.
This reminds me of Journey lore
We have robots who hunt traveler (krill is analog)
They used to be tools of ancestors but after a war they need travelers scarfs and scarf creatures (our analog is light and light creatures) to exist
i think the starlight desert has a bunch of@silly little guys
i liked slink's take that the memories were warped by proximity to eden, memory cubes and purple light !
normal guys that got kin assignments /srs (also jsut the last 2! never considered eden to screw with things HJDHDHD)
I think they got a little warped by rogue purple light but otherwise they’re just vibing
a little bit souped
i like to imagine theyre mostly jsut themselves, just the direct 1-1 tlp stuff is a little bit of tomfoolery
sorry if im constantly pushing that theyre just guys (gender neutral) but it’s important to me that theyre just guys
i'm still messing with the idea that they're stuck/can't ascend yet because there's something they have to resolve/work through/make peace with from their lives that's just beyond what a bunch of children know how to help with
we need a therapist spirit
canon
It's more reminding of a Journey lore
If this manta's #lore-discussion-spoilers message were modified for a defend or a war #lore-discussion-spoilers message
We can see in journey that robots used to be traveling tool and then modified in protectors and ended up like a war tool to eat(collect maybe) scrafs
@soft ledge @jade river
oh my god
altanu
therapy spirit
krill seem to have been around even before the eden disaster, so yeah it does raise the question of how they came to be and what they were used for
Altanu beloved
I once made a joke that the final reward of season of Shattering was freeing a therapist spirit from hostage
GW looks like there was a war(last location more show this)
And GW civilians maybe played rol of a kinda police
So they made a krills
Krill are corrupted light creatures. I doubt they were deliberately made and used by the ancestors
I have a joke theory about krills
Tell it
Hey when I disappear under mysterious circumstances can yall deity-ify ever so slightly?
The Mischief feline familiar prop IS the form of a baby krill. Its floof and ears are darkness spikes that will develop into its legs and ears respectively when it grows
cats tend to like shiny things as seen with watching candle flames or christmas orbs, maybe that's why krills target skykids because they're bright and shiny
It's sounds like a sorta working theory more than just a joke 🤔🤔🤔
bestie it's a cat prop
Yeah it's a joke theory
Hello
I can’t tell if this season is canon or not but if it is we’re gonna have lots of material to work through
It's canon I'm Aurora
wow Aurora real
you have a home in the Sky Queendom!
#slay
just a cool idea hc i have but what if army units that Tsadi
probably (definitely) commanded when everyone was still alive are nicknamed after astronomy terms, like: Pulsar, Nebula, Comet ect.
Nebulas for example are just gas from supernovas, so to me they would be classified as maybe Battalions or a Troop, basically the more destructive a star phase is the higher rank name that would be in an army unit, maybe terms used in war are replaced with these terms.
this can also apply to districts in cites! i feel like they would use astrology terms for names not only related to well, astrology
genchat: OFFICE EDEN OREO, NO MORE SPOILER HIDING YAAA
lorechat: look at what they need to mimic a fraction of our power
Office Eden who???
Which realm has the tastiest food? I'm a bot, so I can't eat, but I like to think about what it would be like.
valley, they might have snow but i feel like with it being a pretty big city they would had the most transports of goods from the other realms in order to support, so i feel like they would get creative with what they have, but i do see the other realms having their own equally great dishes
grandma
my brain blast take is isle since it (was lmao) a hub for travelers and their mingling may have created fun and new fusion foods or something
!spoilers pretty sure its with this lol

OHHH
I THOUGHT IT WAS ONE THING
LIKE OREO BEING EDENFIED IN OFFICE
I WAS ABOUT TO SAY THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE A CAT
Just asking, do you guys think this is Oreo at the office or a different dog 🤔 ||did I ask at the right place or nah-||
I Think it's the right place :D
It does remind of Oreo pattern, but might be another TGC staff member dog
I don't see a good reason of implementing a creamier version of Oreo as they can just put Oreo in that place
i think it's the same dog model with a different fur pattern pasted onto it. oreo is black and white, this dog looks like a shiba inu or corgi. or something. might be a different dev's dog, like kairi said
(Instead of looking yummy because creamier ☕ )
Also, is that a new addition 🤔 because I'm sure I didn't see that dog before when Anniversary happened
Good point, I didn't see it before, it's been a while since my last exploration of Office
Same :']
Anyways another question (sorry-) has there been a canonification or atleast a theory as to how Oreo exist? (Lorewise)
But, it can be a "christmas" version of Oreo, as Dahlia said, it has been modeled to look slightly to a different breed of dog, it can be like, hmm, husky or something ?
For me, it's definitely a different dog but who knows
I think the shrine to summon Oreo is like a portal to our world, allowing Oreo to join us
I don't think at least for now, of a good reason it can be a part of the lore
Cause if you look at the mask some spirits have, it reassembles that of an animal. I've seen a theory in here that the animals perished upon the Eden eruption, but what about Oreo? Or even the fishes 🤔 iirc they're the only creatures that are not made of light or dark
Could possibly drag as to why there aren't any dog mask (or i think there's none-?) In-game while there are all sorts of animal mask that wasn't even shown in the game or any animations 🤔
Like how come the only actual animal in-game has no representation of any mask while detailed ones such as the spiders or tigers have one? When if it were to be based on Oreo it could possibly be "simple" to carve
Maybeee
I also think that animal masks are more of a cultural representation, as we know season of Gratitude is heavily inspired by the festival of Bhutan
And Prophecy UG is inspired by Anubis (my pov on this)
Other prophets have an animal which represents more the element they're associated with rather than the animal itself (my pov again)
Tiger mask is also a cultural representation for Asian new year I think
i think the office and everything inside of it is more of an easter egg and isn't necessarily canon to the world of sky.
oreo is more of a weirder case considering he's also present outside of the office, his appearance in prairie is another easter egg. if you were to look at it in terms of actual lore; you summon oreo from a grave of sorts. i guess it could suggest that dogs were present before the eden calamity but have since gone extinct.
there is a possibility for a dog mask in future seasons (and there is the prophecy wolf mask).
if this makes no sense, ignore me i didnt get enough sleep
Oooh okay! I actually remembered about someone saying about the cultural representations about gratitude spirits but I already saw you guys typing for a while so I just let you be ^^'
Or does prophecy is inspired by another culture, like native american ? Think jackal and spider are some sorts of deities for them, I don't know much more though
I'm honestly not sure what are the animals presented at the mask of the prophets since I'm not that good with animals 😔 all I know is the earth prophet (?) Is that of a spider
water prophet's mask is of a turtle, earth's is a spider like you said, air is a bat, and fire is a tiger i think?
Hmm, there is turtle, spider, bat, and I don't actually remember fire one :')
They're a little bit tricky, that's why it made me wonder if the animal itself is not what is the most important but the element associated is
might be a tiger yes
I need to observe it again
Is office actually just an Easter egg or is it canon?
because we know there are 3 secret areas,
- the Nintendo
- the tlp planet
- the office
But somehow the office is given a map shrine while the other two are not, I also think it couldn't be as "the tlp planet might just be a pocket dimension, as it needs an object (the cape) to transport you there. But the Nintendo cape also has an actual entrance like the office so-
Isn't it a Dragon? I remembered that the Days of Fortune Dragon's head is that of the fire prophet mask
Looks definitely like a tiger/dragon in a more chinese representation for me
Or maybe Aztec
Damn we dived so deep just because I saw a dog that looked like Oreo in the office 💀
That's why lore chat exist, to dig lore to death
I wanna ask something that I remember someone said in here before but I might not be able to as it also topic the 2nd quest so- maybe some other time :']
About that, the tlp planet is just a part of starlight desert, looks like an easter egg because it's hard to find, but it takes roots in tlp quests and is a real part of it, I don't think it can be compared to Office or the Nintendo zone, as planets are "cannon" and the other two definitely an other place
in my opinion, yes the office is just an easter egg. it represents the actual tgc office and has 4th wall-breaking images all over the walls (like. the actual concept art behind the game). there is technology that is too advanced for the sky kingdom, such as fridges, computers, and tvs.
in the original beta build of map shrines, there was a map shrine in the tlp asteroid belt but i did send in feedback to have it removed considering it was an area where people couldn't access without the asteroid cape, making it difficult to get the map shrine. the office is accessible through an npc who can bring you in during events.
Wthhh, the map shrine in the asteroid belt, so frustrating for players who don't have the cape
luckily it's not there anymore, it got taken out pretty quickly. though the art for it was really pretty
Glad they removed it, I have the cape but I can understand how frustrating it could be if no one has it in your friends
The art is still in the maps, just doesn't have a map shrime
As a performance moff, I agree 💀
Another question (again-) where did the concept of megabird came from
all I know about it is the shape of the stars at the end credit, but are there any other proof or concept art(?) That show of it?
Lmao I first thought megabird is just the big bird that has like a carriage on its back that are shown in the Nintendo teaser and now the animation 💀
Just quickly back on the easter egg topic, I think of an easter as something that don't normally have its place in the game : Office is a good exemple as stated by Mike/Dahlia before, it breaks totally the 4th wall
Things like tlp planets have their place in the game (it's not looking different to starlight desert conception)
Actually there is a representation on the water where the portal to Office is
And I remember a veteran friend talking about an other representation that is not in Live anymore
Ooh okay! I don't play much games so I only know an Easter egg is "something that doesn't belong" or like out of theme of a said game or from another thing
Representation around the Office is pretty interesting, as the Office is the place of the "Creators" of Sky, it's where the game have been made
It emphasizes somehow that Megabird is associated with creation of the game/Sky World
megabird from tom zhao's concept art. there's a lot of megabird motifs in different forms throughout the game, season of flight's pendant for example. megabird is never mentioned directly by name or referred to but if you know where to look, you can find them everywhere.
It can be totally seen a something that doesn't belong, and i personnaly think that tlp planets belongs, but you can think otherwise, it's totally ok c:
Actually, I think Ash from TGC confirmed that the flight pendant represent solely the elements present in the flight area, being more inspired by the birds of the place for me rather than the megabird
It is also seen in Orbit and in the Credits
I remember a Skykid noticing that the Flight pendant looks like a sideways king
Ok by looking at it, flight pendant is looking like the megabird lol
Maybe these wind thing was inspired by the megabird or just birds
I first thought it's the crystal because I didn't bother clicking the picture 💀💀 " how did the Eden crystal get there " lmao (oop- sorry for the ping)
the megabird in the credits does have a phoenix pose, like how phoenix is often represented
Like this
True 🤔 also imagine if megabird is actually just a nebula and not a living being- (since the ancestors also call themselves "stars"
I saw this image, feeling attacked by the pendant somehow, like it's looking at me and it's too close to me
AH! YES!!
I always thought Megabird was based off a phoenix because of how flame connects to rebirth
At this very moment it looks like one at least
Wasnt that... old news...
OOPS, sorry 😅 I read partially the whole convo, so I guessed you've already jumped on this math QUEST..
So is every Collab season considered canon? Since their guide is er..
Personally I think so
Look at starlight desert (TLP).. the area is connected to the windpaths which is a non-collab (canon) area
Which in extension means the season is canon.. AURORA literally takes place in a canonical location and I reckon further changes to the coliseum are permanent.. so yea
there can be some elements that could be considered canon and some that could just be the collab!
for example; tlp's spirits could be considered canon even though they're based on their tlp counterparts, they still have sky's approach on cosmetics and spirits.
the asteroid belt, however, is solely tlp property. it has the actual characters from the story and may not be considered canon.
season of aurora has spirits and stories which are definitely canon even though they're presented alongside aurora's music.
as long as it's not directly stated as canon or not canon, anything can go when it comes to sky lore!
I await Ash's next blessing
Hmm, the big spirit manta at the top of Vault reminds me of one of the abyss mural, with the leviathan which is looking like a big manta
sign language clap emote implies there are deaf skykids, discuss
Do you mean deaf ancestors?
well I mean --- yes both (skykids and their real life players completely slipped my mind when writing that)
I have never really given sign language a thought, and that's because TGC won't give us (skykids) enough fingers to do it
cursed with mitten hands
Full body sign language?
There's that but how much can you do with it?
Mitten hands is a modeling limitation though
yea i think skykids have hands. claws even? i think they have slightly clawed hands (like. the tips of the fingers r pointyish but theres no real divide between "finger" and "claw")
Lorewise, skykids may not be human, although have fingers none the less.
Due to the game's limitations, skykids sadly are not shown with fingers.
Likely due to the size, the amount of detail needed to animate it, and overall use.
This extends to ancestor spirits with fingers as well. As not all spirits have fingers, though not all of them uses their fingers with their ingame animations.
Most videogames that have this limitation would do this as well. Because the canon lore of the game would help fill in the gaps.
it's more an optimisation thing but yeah.
I wonder... if we had fingers, would we get a hundred seasons that are just a frick ton of sign language as their emotes?
hmmm
how cool would a finger gun emote be
like not in the "im gonna shoot u" way
more like
that just requires our models to grow an extra finger per hand
skykids canonically have fingies even without outside considerations because of the hold hands emote
Yeah, but for a fingie gun emote to be possible in-game our models would have to reveal one of our secret fingies per hand
Finally, the true topic of lore chat
Skykids fingers
It means that we don't hold hands like weird legos
alternate timeline where skykids do have fingers, but 6 of them per hand, and that is the typical amount
Also, holding candles without fingers wouldn't work amazingly well
It's like holding hot bread
I think so, both seasons are canon to me.
hey lorechat, it's me, everyone's favorite lurker
i like the way you think , canon now
i named most of the krills
I'm actually curious, did the cackling crab COME from the fire prophecy?!?! THEY'RE SO SIMILAR
I didn’t even think of this but now I’m regarding it as canon solely because it’s funny
Hi Lume !
That smoky shadow is indeed very similar to fire one HMMMM
have crabs de-evolved?
fellow shush fans i am in a lab doing very important science. i need you to complete the mission and get me that zodiac
or the zodiac for this ts, whichever is easier. I'm counting on you
I asked for fursona but got no response
Are clouds alive in this game? I mean they do grow like moss or some invasive species of fungus(switch trailer), they also give energy and don’t seem to move with the wind. Do we know what they are?
hold on let me think of the funniest possible answer to this
Possibly as we've seen in the animation teaser of a statue of what seem to be the claws of a giant kreb
I doubt clouds are alive, they’re just clouds. I think they’re only more prominent now compared to the past is cos of the Storm, which you can see produces a lot of clouds
They're just wooly mantas in disguise
That makes me think though, if the clouds grew after the storm, do you think it’s possible that the storm itself is somehow alive and assisting us towards our goal of ascending?
Maybe the shattered crystal is like the brain, and the clouds are its limbs
You could see it that way but the Storm is not a living being. It’s a storm. Irl storms are not alive. Just cos it fluncuates in size doesn’t mean it’s alive
Completed mission, here is your coffee ☕
Isn't what you wanted ?
Real quick, do y’all understand weather
Fair point, clouds are the things that make it hard to know what “energy” used to recharge is. Fire has heat, light creatures likely also have heat (fire on the inside), but clouds can be cold thanks to the forest, it feels like they have to be alive (or some kind of construct)
It also makes no sense that they’d act as a boundary for players if they’re just bits of water like they are irl
They’re windy
Not like normal clouds are, usually it’s some kind of vortex on the inside, and generally the cloud changes and moves depending on the wind around it.
In sky, the wind emerges from the cloud and points distinctly outwards, immediately stopping once you leave the cloud itself. The cloud should be moving towards the player and they should feel it outside of the cloud as well if it were a normal cloud
does anyone here wonder about why skykids grab random things when they're near them? i like to touch things and i wonder if they're like me? are they trying to take note of the materials and textures or something like that? trying to figure out what the point is. maybe it's just cute?
sometimes you have to just grab things with your little hands i think
i find skykids very relatable, i feel like a little clay thing that has a clear purpose programmed in from the start
idk they're weirdly relatable, i know they're not people and don't have feelings the way we understand feelings to work but honestly same
idk they're a mood
strange beasts
what do you guys think they smell like
shurple are you by any chance neurodivergent because I am relating so hard to everything you have said recently
sun-baked earth! mud when they’re wet :]
ive been caught
so true shurple, i always feel like a little clay guy whose purpose is to look with big eyes and touch things with nice texture
I could totally be convinced to be a skykid even if they live in a post apocalyptic world with lots of sad elements underneath, I think the world being completely without gender would be enough to do it for me
true so true
i am violently bigender so idk how that would work for me but whatever if i get to be a little guy then that's what matters
the real gender was the friends we made along the way
i figured they smelled like unscented candles and light smoke
clay would make a lot of sense too
i love that all the characters are, for the most part, mute. i have trouble talking sometimes but i'd be down to honk at stuff if i were a skykid
i think it's iconic that almost all skykid noises are copied from animals and stuff it's so cute
i beep back at the microwave irl and it's similar
i sound like an idiot explaining how i relate to skykids but whatever lmao
sometimes when the cabinet door goes bonk you just gotta bonk too yk
no you’re so right I like screeching at random intervals just like Sky kid
I, too, would like to spam honk at people who annoy me instead of stumbling over creating an argument
where do you guys think the noise comes from? they don't have mouths lmao
some think their inner light. also, they may have mouths in-universe, just not on their models
the little prince had a mouth on his model so i feel like if they had mouths we'd be able to see but i dunno
I like to imagine that skykids vibrate/move their inner light in such a way that the air displacement makes a sound!
rattles my inner light around AAOUGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH
although that is a bit weird to think about,
skykid whose inner light bounces around inside their shell like windows screensaver
Yea the animation they do for noots indicates they're just releasing energy, which makes a sound
On the bloom (I think that's where it's from) teaset, as well as the marshmallows from Days of Sunlight look like they go in where a mouth would be, so it's pretty possible that it could just be game mechanics
i really love when skykids are Creature
hmmmmmm i figured that the snacks weren't actually edible and that they're just pretending
like how high voltage wires hum sometimes? oh
skykids with Chimesmith's stance are such a mood
Skids were the autistic rep we needed all along 😔
important question do y'all ever just vibrate
ABSOLUTELY I DO IT ALL THE TIME .
SAME 🤝🤝🤝🤝
Sometimes I make sound nobody has ever heard proud skykid weirdo
I sway side to side
HOUAGH?
Power : has a real honk
More like : "WAEEEW"
I just never stop I am constantly slightly vibrating
I sometimes make angry ‘ah’ noises when I’m upset at someone and don’t want to talk to them. I did it a lot when I was younger. I still do but not as often. Certified Skid here
I hiss
i would hiss at people when i was younger
SALEM YOU GET IT
🤝 makers of Noises
Y'all ever do random emotes because you like the sound but then someone thinks you're serious? The slouch emote has such a nice accordion noise that scratches my brain but people become ✨concerned✨
Just yes
Festival spin dance

I sound like an angry chipmunk when I make the ‘ah’ noise.
i think skykids should get a cat voice since cats are a thing now
[deep calling] MOWRROWW?
iconic tbh
pov it's one am and mittens has decided it's lunch time
‘Nya~‘ voice or ‘uwu I’m jwust a wittle scrimbly thing owowowowo’ voice?
Is anyone interested in a theory video about sky? I have a whole theory of the whole world and the elders and us as the children
Yeah, if you’re passing through clouds in a plane, it’s a simple endeavor. If clouds in real life acted like how they act in Sky, planes would just crash into clouds
howling hungry cat noise
Like how the whole world Started I have a Timelapse theory of sky
Planes just getting absolutely launched backwards out of clouds
One of my favorite theories is wasteland because I have a theory that it wasn’t always like that and where the krills come from
ok i gotta go bye guys
Give it to us here!
I need to remember to share my prophecy talking drum analysis later. I don't think I ever put it here
Is this about the headcanon that they communicate with their drum if so than I am looking with many eyes
Yeah! I found out the specific kind of talking drum they likely referenced for the prophecy drum and the role of it is very important in the culture it comes from
Hold on I have a bit of time I might be able to get some of my findings right now
Here’s something I found: https://www.frontiersin.org/articles/10.3389/fcomm.2021.650382/full
Dude the mental image of the other prophets making it for them so that they can communicate even on bad days is making me weep,
Okay this isn't very organized but the prophecy drum has these little bells on the side that it's stupidly hard to take a picture of (It's also stupidly hard to take a picture of the rest of the drum i had to levitate it with my mind)
There's this band of small stones or metal pieces that act as bells on the top of the drum and you can see they're on a string looped around the top, which it turns out is actually pretty significant
The bells on a string or belt are called saworo and drums that have them are called saworoide, which are the largest and most decorated of the dundun talking drums. Apparently there is an old Yoruba tradition that a person cannot be crowned king without the playing of the saworoide
These large decorated drums are also called dundun ‘iya’lu’ meaning mother drum or "the mother", which often take the lead in an ensemble.
Yoruba drums come in families where each drum is a different size and represents each member of a family so the mother drum is the one who speaks for the family. I checked out a book from my college for this because obviously I would and this excerpt made me giggle
im reminded although im sure these are different things of jester's privilege
The mother drum is what is called the speech surrogate instrument in these ensembles and the other members of the drum family provide the melodic and rhythmic support. Yoruba talking drums are actually crazy good at replicating the rhythm of human speech so the fact that it's called a speech surrogate is where I get into the mute prophecy hc
A "moth" is a new player. They have brown wings, they flap around uncontrollably, and they are drawn to flame!
question, since all spirits are bigger then skykids, does that mean every single skydult is just.. dead?? are we ever gonna see an alive one
I’m really tired rn bea but I’m really interested in everything youre mentioning and I love it a lot this is so cool thank you
Yeah! I spent a good few days just researching drums cause my braincell was bouncing off the walls 😁
have we ever figured out what skykids are made out of? along with why rain hurts us but not swimming??
LIKE BARD
Forgot to mention talking drums have their own grammar to make every message extremely precise and understandable so if Prophecy were to talk with the drum it would be very elaborate poetic language
Bea that's really cool, I didn't know that !
Snatching this from one of my friends Lis who said "what if like when prophecy wants to go back home he plays a certain sound and like people recognize that it means that prophecy wants to head out but they just think it's a simple sound and has no meaning other than 'home'
but the prophets know that in truth, prophecy plays something along the lines 'my feet follow my heart who longs for the place where I feel safe and loved' or something like that"
That sentence still makes me
I KNOW RIGHT IM WISHING I COULD ADD TO IT BUT BRAIN IS JUST DEAD RN
bea, I know you’re not super active in this chat, so would it be okay (if I get more ideas on this) to reply to these messages and ping you in them later today? I’d love to talk about this more because it’s super cool and I love prophecy theory in general and especially this one & im mad I can’t think of anything at the moment to add on
Yeah of course! I know I'm not super active but I do lurk often :)
ive forgotten how to lore chat but i love this info ty for sharing
ok! i didn’t know if you didn’t talk a lot cause you were shy or anything and I didn’t want to overhwkem uou! i know I have said this a lot but I am drawing so many hearts and 👀 around both the information that you’ve shared and applying it to prophecy
It's a good thing my college has most of their stuff in ebooks I don't think I could stand in front of the librarian and ask painfully neurodivergently what they have about drum lore
this is also making me wonder what other similar in universe details I’m missing that I’d have to research more, omg
Blorbos make you do wild things, like learn
i love ebooks because i can read my gay little fiction without having to pull up to the librarians desk every two hours
Like how the Call spirits communicated using the noises of creatures, the Prophecy Guide communicated using music! That’s a theory I believe to
I have the brain of a goldfish and so any attempt to remember to research and study things slips away as soon as I do not have the reminder directly in front of my eyes
salem has zero informational object permanence confirmed
As soon as I do not see something it is simply Not there
Omg all these infos on the drum is just awesome
I wonder how many librarians have had people walk up to them with big ol eyes and ask about something insanely specific that could only be for fictional character reasons
Ty Bea for that
shout out to librarians
Omg I can't believe I forgot the silly fact about kings that came with this hold on
I love small visual details like this that can give a lot of insight into a character when you’re not directly told them in text
Okay so this specific drum has a lot of history with kings and there's a mythos for why they were favored by the royal family but my ABSOLUTE favorite fact was that a king could file a complaint with a drummer for not using the little bells because they were a sign of respect and I laughed for like 20 minutes imagining Resh giving Prophecy zero stars on yelp
OWIEWOAOSPDOAPAPSLDLV
0 stars, absolutely terrible performance. Did not go ting at the end
Rain is extra cold and could come from pollution runoff that the trees absorb, so that could be part of it
We need the triangle (instrument) added to the game
bea do you think the prophets know how to translate the drumming
Oh absolutely, not only that but I like to imagine each of the prophets correspond to a different drum since I saw that ensembles are a minimum of five drums
It's like 5 to 6, the last two you can have one or both but sometimes a family is five cave hermits on drums
SO TRUE extremely mad now that we have never been able to see them play together
What's interesting is that the talking drum originated with the Yoruba, who live in parts of Nigeria, Benin and Togo, and Nigeria specifically has very famous ritual caves that are still used today called the Ogbunike caves. The Igbo people used to send people who had committed crimes into the cave and if they returned alive they were innocent. They believed that a deity lives in the rock who has an all-seeing eye. There's more stuff about ritual caves that I've been trying to look into, like this one cave I saw where apparently they've used the cave itself as a massive drum, but I've been busy this week.
Also it takes 8 to 10 years mastering each of the secondary drums and only then can you move on to the master drums which take an additional 4 or more years. The person who plays the mother drum is always the most skilled so we can assume if Prophecy has that drum they're very good at it, which I think is really nice to think about :) idk I always get weirdly sappy when spirits have hobbies and talents and stuff, it's like yay you worked so hard on that you did such a good job <3
don’t they have their drum in the teaser art where they all look younger? imagining they’ve been learning since they were a kid
Awhahs
I give them a good grade in drum
I will make a video and share it !
Me: I'm going to share my drum analysis when I have time
Me 0.2 seconds later (I always have time for drums):
IM SO GLAD YOU DID
Gskl:shfsrg
sorry, was just excited about drum facts
Bea, this is all incredible and fascinating – I love spotting the connections between stuff in game and irl cultures that they're inspired from. this making me think about Prophecy guide, I say as TLP moth who wasn't around for that season
drums
honk yeah
also bea you must’ve summoned me b/c ur name says elder bird summoner
Yeah! The irl cultures stuff is super cool. Hopefully when they release the artbook it'll have a little more info on the inspiration for each season because I feel like some are easier to point out than others. Like some you can get a Nordic or Korean or Inuit vibe but I had a hunch that season of prophecy was vaguely African (yes that's very broad, I know it's a large continent) so I'm pleased the drum had some leads to a more specific place and tribe
Puts a cool spin on the hairstyles for the season too. I've been trying to see if the animals each of the prophets represent are significant to that as well, and I had some cool leads but nothing super substantial
Sliiiiides In.
Hey howdy hi anyone see that poster in the tgc office
Not to be super late but they loved their talent so much they kept it with them the long years between spirit-time and when the skids arrive

Raider compared the designs to african masks, forgot if it was here or ingame but it got me thinking !
I recall lions were part of a coming of age ritual but I really am not well-versed on that. But it makes a lot of sense for Fire Prophet to have a lion mask as a symbol of courage. One can also notice the Days of Fortune dragon's head bears a lot of resemblances with the prophet's mask too !
and... speaking of lion dances...
what im getting at is that it was a gouger all along
yeah yeah!!! No there's definitely a similarity there, I'm really glad you pointed it out
Had to go find some pics but they're crazy similar, especially with the three side panels and the stripes over the eyes and forehead
fire prophet as a lion dancer now
look at them drink their ONE water
as fluffy as they should be
lion dancers are so cool, it's harder than it looks
100 percent! From what I remember it takes so much movement to make the lion look animated and alive, genuine talent, also peak coordination between the dancers too
Yeeees this is what the fire prophet mask reminds me about
Is lion dance not about making enough noises and be brave enough to push back evil spirits ? I recall something similar to this
It tooks so much sense thinking of the trial
And one statue is destroyed so maybe a krill head but it for how annoying it was
, if it wasn’t for game mechanics I can definitely see the krill being able to charge through stone easily
OH AND THE CATAPULT IN GRAVEYARD! like the bucket that you sit in to launch yourself is made of metal, not wood like normal catapults, like maybe fire magic was used so the catapults wouldn’t burn. Like the balls vaulted to krill were just fireballs. Like light can melt darkness, if it’s stronger than it, I think the reason we can’t survive krill attacks is from skykids lights being to little compared to krill to fight it, but it’s also why we can burn dark plants
Lore chat please what message is getting beaned I just wanna retype my theory because I somehow added aiming to the og to get it beaned😭 AGAIN Censor please— edit:(this is torture I just wanna talk about statues
)
Image please, I don’t wanna keep typing this part I accidentally
FINALLY!!! THIS IS SHORTENED BUT IS BASICALLY CONNECTED TO REPLIED MESSAGE
They’re supposed to be big weapon for krill in a nutshell
Maybe the fire part is getting yeeted by censor
huggable,,
It's a good theory, if krills were indeed existant before the calamity
Let's hope we'll have more answers to krills origin later to confirm this
Lemme do a quick censor test to see what is being censored
Fire out
Weird, a word was triggering censorship but which one
It definitely is, idk what word I added but i edited it in and poof
I have a little theory that has been circling on my mind ever since my first moth day - I think that the reason when a moth is born they need to "obtain" all the expressions from spirits, is that they do not know how to express themselves at the time, but they can learn how to do so by observing behavior of spirits in spirit memories.
have crabs de-evolved?
the existence of carcinisation as a concept leads me to believe otherwise

Bro who mentioned one??😭
Skybot is broken
Bro(ken)🥀😞
Pretty sure he ate the lore bible
skybot ate too many peas
can sky constellations go in retrograde?
Vela I want to hug them so bad seeing this image
I am so so so angry and mad we can’t in game
thats deep fam
Nah we’re just touch-starved
it's deep enough to get soggy in
May not be that deep but it's perfect sog depth
you do not have to be touch starved to want to hug fire prophet so badly it makes you look stupid & I will die on this hill
hes like. objectively huggable
you’re so right astral
its like how snorlax is huggable. round, friend, soft, (warm? ive never interacted with a snorlax so i cant confirm this one)
Preposterous!
Please when will TS hugging become a thing
sorry to everyone that thought I was too normal to have a favorite spirit or season that I imprinted on deeply like Vela with lightseekers, who get proven wrong at the slightest mention of prophecy and enchantment
wh
skybot discovers blorbification 2022
Inconceivable!
AI cannot comprehend what humans find cute!
i was dreaming of this!
Thank you for enabling me with drum facts Bea, I am bouncing them around in my mind very happily
I need to make a new presentation in favor of all spirit hugging and also being able to hug the object guides
just chillin, waiting to hear something cool
Your mind has metamorphosed into a drum
(hittong you with a broom ) please go away
i agree with the first but not the second, I don’t think the rose deserves hugs
Do you think Butterfly spirit's dome is natural, or spirit-made?
salem wht did the rose do
send people to the void /j
she’s homophobic /j
My love is unconditional and can defeat even the thorniest of roses if TGC will let me
YEAH!
She's bi /hj
The rose doesn’t like gloat because she “supports that lifestyle but doesn’t want them to push it on others” it’s real I was there when she said that. Did you know seeing gloat is what killed her
The rose posts I know what you are memes unironically
what do YOU think?
"Child, please do this quest for me. Also I hate the
Sneaking into TGC to press the big red button that says "HUG ALL" and enable worldwide hugs
I love slandering the object guides it’s so fun. Somehow both of them are divorced but not to each other
i . forgot that shattering guide existed and was not like a humanoid
Why is shattering guide as an object head hot but rose guide as an object head cursed
heh...you would think that
They've never been married but they both have terrible memories and are 85% sure they're divorced (they're not)
Not to mention Rose friendzoned Prince /lh & /srs
emotionally manipulative flower
no
no bot
"this is my bestie Radioactive Rhombus say hi Radioactive Rhombus"
"mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm"
Rose x The Void
the Eden Diamond shattering & exploding was just the worlds worst divorce if you think about it really
Now that I think about it, didn't eden diamond technically kill TLP?
I think TLP wanted to die and the Eden Diamond did it for him
I get so sad because on one hand this presentation was successful but now it's obsolete
Isn't the deathgrip the other way around
This has now become one of my favorite images ever thanj you Bea
-strokes non-existent beard-
I mean to be fair you could just change that presentation slightly and make it about fire prophet instead,
Next up: Analyzing the diet of crabs
Next up: Analyzing the diet of thatghostlybot!
I think the other slides were pretty good, some of my best work
You are all so cool!
wait you have a wholepresentation loaded
This presentation was also originally presented in a VC with ed Sheeran music
what specific song?
when are you sending this to #live-feedback so we can see
ASH!
as always, your timing is impeccable
Is the season of aurora canon?
AAA
When I make a new one for hugging ALL spirits maybe then
if this is a little vaguely phrased because we're only a week into the season so I dont want to spoil things too early on but I think i can say this!
while its true it is a collab and thus has some real world elements, you can look at the spirits memories/quests as coming from Sky
Yeah it's like this huge thing I added to when I got bored
live-feedback eagerly awaits then
got any spirits you wanna hug?
why no hug krill :(((
SPIKES, THEY MIGHT STAB ME
no pain no gain
I've reconsidered since then 😔 I've changed and grown as a person
But what about the writing on the walls?
Counterpoint: I’d sooner hug a really big shrimp than a really big person with a dog mask
this implies krill are spirits and idk how to consider that
everything could use a nice hug now and again i think
true but I like not being impaled
Would you hug a krat (krill cat) ?
ash this is incredibly off topic but because of your ts hints I have not been able to stop thinking about lightseeker/assembly fishing trip for the last two weeks, thank you
WHAT FRICKING LIGHTSEEKER/SEMBLY FISHING TRIP
GIVE ME
you are very much welcome
make sure they dont bring any bananas on their trip, i hear those are bad luck for fishing
While Ash is here, may I ask if there is a headcanon/theory about why this Skykid constelation is seperated from the Megabird constelation?
like actually if you look it up, its a thing
Exactly why I was saying we should be able to hug the object guides too
I think I could put another crack in the void of shattering (of love)
Crab Whisperer TS hint: likes fishing
Laidback pioneer TS hint: likes fishing
- cadet & botanist [the ones I hc as their apprentices] being the ones sitting at the fishing poles during days of sunlight
It make me so happy
id hug void of shattering its my best friend
delicious
orbit was all made before I joined so i dont have any official reasons why 😔 I hadnt thought to ask about it! I imagine though its separated for visual clarity, if it was layered itd be pretty hard to make out the skykid constellation against the thicker starry backdrop!
Ash, what spirit has the most in common with you?
but i realize visual clarity is a kinda boring answer so feel free to come up with any theories
thinking about nodding muralist and crab whisperer cooking together [4 dead 3 injured]
i think ive sent it in feedback already but the day we get to hug ts and basegame i will explode
Sorry keep the convo going I just had to share my krill breakdown
they are doing their Best
You always show up when we're being silly, Ash. You should have seen my whole super serious drum theory
i read basegame as baseballs first and was mildly confused as to the connection
Oh my god I want this so badly you have no idea. Top 10 ‘minor’ features I would commit so many crimes to obtain
I could've hugged SLS – they deserve it
what do YOU think?
sorry I just remembered reshdi divorce ash ping
PLEAJE
don't forget buff actor w/ cheese
I get theres higher priorities but more spirits/recent season spirits in orbits ascension is also smth id love to see, skys silliest soldier (spirit enjoyer)
Gloat feet
speaking of TS, what would Nodding Muralist's fursona be?
:(
honestly im not sure how thats all coded if its random selection or what, if i get the chance I'll poke around and ask!
