i headcanon the valley elders are supposed to be liminal for that reason, it just makes sense for the end of the buildup to the last levels being heralded by twins (associated with gates irl !)
Wasteland is when it gets real and you see this is not just a scenic trek through the clouds
so it would make sense the valley (which you need to complete to access TS and other events) is the final gate to the beginning of the end

I think it goes to show that even an oasis wasnt soared from the Eden calamity. Whether the Ark crashed due to the Eden directly or some other mishap, all the ancestors died. Nobody was safe

So she’s part of a tribe of Skykids in the Hidden forest. I call them the crabs but I’ll probably give them a better name eventually, they’re called that because of their masks

They built their homes on stilts above a huge lake created by the rain, inside a sinkhole which formed under an old facility of some sort built by the Ancestors

The tribe traditionally follows the ways of the Lightseekers, and do so in order to keep the lake healthy and thriving. The lake’s most important “creature” is light lotus plants; they help clear the water of pollution, but need to be fed large amounts of Light from time to time.

So the majority of the crabs spend their days gathering up Light (like the floating ones that are part of quests,) which they offer up to the chief of the tribe during an annual festival

From then on, it became a frenzy for 3 days, and after expirementation, we made the tiniest of progress, but in reality I was just ordering people to do stuff and I didn't even know what I was doing. Eventually, a person who was somewhat versed in physics came in to this chat and told us that it's impossible and what we were doing was stupid

However, there were still some easier calculations to be done.

Part 2: We calculated the speed of the Valley Elders (6 mph) and a charging krill (29 mph)

Skykids seem to be made from a combination of stone-like material and light.

For "why are skykids born", that's a skykids purpose question. That's a bit complex, but some proposed answers are:

They were made to restore balance/light to the Sky world

They were made to save the spirits

Keep in mind that my answers are not confirmed, and that Sky lore is open to interpretation most of the time!

The collapse of the old Sky kingdom was probably what made it wonky. The Sky devs say that the balance was broken due to "power diamonds", a material made of darkness that powers stuff like doors. You see this in the 8-player door in Prairie, for example.

Eden is violent because of the giant Eden diamond, which spewed darkness all over the place.

Golden Wasteland seems to be a factory, with the power diamond machines in the first dark dragon area

Generally speaking only specially trained skykids are allowed to intentionally go into the waters of the lake, if that makes any sense? Basically you can get in trouble cus they don’t want unruly skykids hurting the gardens

oh! So those are two separate (but very similar looking tbf) creatures; they are known as elder creatures. Generally the definition for elder creatures is that they’re a more powerful/ascended version of whatever group they come from… like elder birds are a more powerful version of elder birds. They aren’t super well defined in canon but the general idea is that they’re somehow leaders of the creatures under them and are much rarer, hence why we see very few, and why they often seem to appear in groups with those creatures. [I am trying to describe this the best I can but I am not great at phrasing tonight, sorry it’s clunky]!

The whale [in forest] would probably be an elder fish while the elder manta in sanctuary would probably be a… well… elder manta!

So actually some quick info on this! The kid in ushering stargazer’s memory is kinda a weird case, because they’re believed to be the first skykid and the only one that really existed before the fall of the kingdom. They are in the prophecy murals as well and you also see a kid resembling them in limbo. you might know them better as the king

AND the switch trailer is kinda foggy (because we love to overthink stuff!) Because the kid in it does look a Lot like a skykid without a cape, but the grown ancestor looks similar too, and so me (and several others) have started to think that ancestors are just Like that and work and look the same way as skykids do

Yeah the trees being petrified is a common idea, especially because they look petrified top! Although I’ve never heard of the rain explanation for it, though, which is really neat! [I always assumed it was just due to general darkness, which I guess would also be present in the rain now that I think about it]

In my hc oreo is a dog that sent by megabird to help elder with their task like helping the spirit to move on to the other side realm and also maybe their caretaker of them when they are young but then when the darkness take over sky kingdom unfortunately Oreo get infection of the darkness and dies

Then his body is buried in a sacred place where only elder knows, where its always sunshine and never gloomy meaning that oreo always bring happiness and luck

But it just my headcanon maybe Oreo just a cute and wholesome easter egg

Yup, sky takes place on the moon: the skip-jumping only makes sense if it's the moon's gravity, every sky child, spirit and elder look like some Lunar Being of Light and they also have the color palette of the moon. when you go to the office, there's a secret place, what is it? a space station, orbiting around the moon. the season of the little prince shows us that we are definitely not on earth, because if that were the case we would be on the same planet where the pilot's plane is.. but we aren't, so where are we? on the moon. final, when looking at the sky.. do we ever see the moon? No.. it's too bright, it's not the moon.. but some weird sun that has a shadow

For me, some names sound like they belong to an Austronesian language (Ihiwa, Ikacod, Seyah, Dayuga, Ojan, Wapeha, Junah, Rajaha, Aketulu) while some sound Afro-Asiatic (Mohad, Yosepi, Iram). Some remind me of names from ancient Mezoamerican civilisations (Razaxuka, Uxud, Coxetifu, Inuci, Ukocu, Acan)

It is thought to represent the light cycle of all light creatures going to the Light aka Megabird then Megabird sending beings of light back to the world. The humanoid figure in the middle would be the king aka prince aka Chosen One who was sent to ensure the light cycle continued. Maybe not right off the bat. If he did, he wouldn't have his logo and statues plastered all around the kingdom. He would be dethroned before he could spread his stuff around if things went downhill real quick when he started his first day

There's this one mural that shows the King showing off a white diamond to a big crowd of Ancestors. That white diamond was probably meant to sustain Eden or maybe the entire kingdom with limitless power. That diamond (probably the same diamond in PNR) might've backfired and caused the storm to erupt in Eden. If this were the case, then the King didn't mean any harm

the light cycle doesn't mean death. yes, death is part of the cycle, but so is life and growth and renewal. the cycle is a cycle, heralding continuation and vivacity. darkness impedes the light cycle and may have always existed to some capacity, just not at the caliber it does now. there's a thought that before the king, there was another calamity that impeded the light cycle. the king's arrival was salvation.

it's a common albeit short-sighted thought that the king was the sole reason the kingdom fell to darkness. rather than the king being evil and ruining everything, it could be that the king truly had the Light's best interest in mind the whole time. it seems the king did stray, but so did the ancestors. to quote the Shattering news post:

Once, we guided the migrating flocks. Once, behemoths flew alongside us in peace. And then we took the light from the wind. The behemoths that remained were only the monuments to ourselves. Our cities shone with a captive glow. We were enraptured as we taught our machines to bind and hoard.
the usage of we, us, our, and ourselves does not lay blame on a single person but rather a collective – all the ancestors. the king may have been sent to herald the light, but like the ancestors, they too strayed. the Elders may have as well, since we see Forest Elder with darkstone.

I'd like to point out that in Light Awaits, there was a mention of the elders being the ones that guided light through the kingdom, so I think this post was made from the POV of an elder

It's likely that ancestors helped the elders as well, see how many are seen working alongside light creatures (the creature whisperers, for example) as well as entire seasons dedicated to light and creatures from it (Lightseekers, Enchantment, Flight...)
