those are birds, and you can't follow them directly due to the presence of strong winds

it leads to a sheer cliff wall with a krill patrolling the area (the inside of the pipe itself leads to a dead end), you'd have to continue flying out of bounds to proceed

Is there a mechanic in Eden where you get killed very fast for no apparent reason if you take too long in the statue area?

Because I don’t know what else just killed us, we were in safe spots but losing wings very fast and we’re kinda bothered by it, because we didn’t get very far (I only got like 25 statues, and my sibling was waiting for me because we can’t use the map at the same time so they didn’t get any at all)

The current build of the game has a "kill switch" which will activate after you've been in the statue area for a certain amount of time: once it activates, everyone will start automatically losing wings until they die. It was put into the game as an attempt to counteract the "death loop" glitch, which prevents a dead player from falling into the dark room properly if there're other surviving players still out on the statue field.

oh that happens. Even in safe spots you'll still get hit and the water is contaminated too. The best way to go through eden is probably to forget about the statues and the safe spots and just run through like you have nothing to lose

We were both safe, sitting on lights without any rocks around and not touching the water. I’m pretty mad about it, because I’m just a very careful person and we have to take turns with the map so my sibling has to wait quite some time before they get to go through the area.

You can submit your thoughts to #live-feedback if you'd like, though I think the devs are already aware of some drawbacks to the current implementation already. Otherwise, the best advice with regards to the kill switch specifically is not to idle and wait around for too long -- you probably don't want to take more than about 20-30 minutes in the statue field ideally.

If right before the area one of us selects no on going home and the other selects yes, the one that said yes can later use the return shrine to get back to right before the statues, right?

Depending on exactly what you want to do: you can either enter the statue field and close your game there, or you can get into the final hallway (with all the winged light) and go Home from there, assuming you entered the hallway normally from outside where the krill is. Closing the game in the statue field will cause your return shrine to put you back into the statue field (and you won't be able to go to any other realm from Home, you'd be stormlocked), while going Home from inside the hallway will cause your return shrine to put you right at the start of the final hallway.

I'm not entirely sure about the pop-up box asking if you want to go home or not, I find that it doesn't actually really seem to do anything for me -- seems more like a pop-up warning stopping you from walking right into the statue field in case you don't want to go in, but the choices never seem to change anything for me (though then again, I only trigger the box when I intend to go in for the most part)

I’m very late with it but basically what Spear said is that,

1. From the hallway with wings you can go home whenever you want to.
2. Once you enter to the field where the statues are, you can’t go home only if you restart your game. However no portals will be active there, only the return shrine which will bring you back to the statue field.
   What you choose on the screen which asks you if you want to enter or not doesn’t have any real effect, besides stopping you before going in. It’s just a warning.

Restart your game, both of you actually and keep doing that until you are at the same home space, then sit on the shrine together. That should bring both of you back to the same server but in eden. Unfortunately the latest patch has some flaws like this but a post in the #bug-reports-android or #report-a-live-bug channels would be greatly appreciated by the developers i think.

Any statues that you lit the first time will be gone if you go again before reset, so yes you will only be able to get the ones you missed the first time

Oh that wasn't a bug unfortunately, it was the kill switch they implement in the latest patch update to prevent people staying alive and cause other players to stuck in deathloops. This way everyone who enters pnr will be affected by the kill switch and are going to start losing wings after 20-30 mins being in there. The logic behind it is if everyone dies, then the deathloopers can move on too. If you felt that it wasn't enough time or it's not a good idea to have it etc. make sure you leave a feedback about it.

Basically eye of eden is the last level of the game, sort of like the end of life if we’re going by original lore and what the realms represent
You go past the rocks in the first area, then go past rocks and dodge krill in the second area before the point of no return, where you light up the statues to sacrifice yourself for others’s sake. When you’re reborn, you start off with how many permanent wingbuffs you buy with ascended candles and collect the wl again to make you stronger
