I took someone with about 55 wings through Eden for her second run. She said she only got 7 statues on her first run, so I told her I'd get her 40. When we got to the eye, right before we started continuous rain, she asked me how many I had left (probably around 100). She seemed very surprised that the wing count went that high and then we booked it. She also found out that she could still chat with me while she was the blue orb. It was very wholesome and she did indeed get 10 ascended candles (40 statues). Well done, much proud.

They way I see it, there's no "winning" or "losing" the game. Sure you don't expect to die in Eden your first time but dying doesn't necessarily mean you "lost," nor is there a way to survive Eden (which is what I assume people mean by "winning"). Eden really serves one purpose, and that's for skykids to return their light to the fallen. You can't really fail that,, unless you're that type of player who doesn't save the stone kids and just keeps on trekking lmao
