i just did a run and i feel like some sort of bug shorted me the red candles. I did the whole run (farthest in i've gotten yet) and got the whole bug where i just spectate the barren wasteland of eden (and waited the 5 min) but when i got to the spot where all the spirits you gave light to where there instead of a large group only like 7 were there. I went in with only 1 red and i only got 13...i gave way more than that out. I play on switch so idk if this is a known bug or what but yea ngl feel a touch cheated. anyone else at least experienced or heard of this issue?

there is a visual bug with the end scene in eden but the reward is correct (my friend and I did a 63 run, and still got a small group). if it's been a while since you did eden some statues were moved around so it's possible you missed them because the are out of the way or hidden.

As for how many WL, the more the better. the most recent run I did, I missed 2 by accident, and was unable to reach the last one, and I entered with just shy of 150 WL. On the run that my friend finally got the 63 run achievement on, they had 190 WL when we entered but we took an unnecessary hit part way through.

How many wls to get all statues depend on pure luck and skill (and concentrated power of will)
Absolute minimum would be ~95 wls but you have to not lose any wls to rock or water at all until the last third. Just get as many wls as you can and be careful.

Yes. They changed Eden to add crawling stage, and made it more difficult in other ways. My guess is that too many people were able to easily rescue every spirit. It is designed to be difficult and annoying.

it's based on how many WL you have total, and I think the threshold to lower the amount lost is like... 70-ish (I wasn't watching it too carefully, but I lost the max of 5 when I still had 80, and started losing less than that at around 72)
Part of the change is just to make it so having a massive amount of WL doesn't trivialize eden, and also so you don't wait for ages at the end (I remember lying in the dirt to die).

Not really, just that it happens rather often for me. maybe it's related to server merging in Storm (which can happen) but that's just speculation.
it's much better than the other bug I was getting over the summer, where my WL refused to drop from rock damage once it hit like 40 or 30 something. It's neat, but it really kept me from doing orbit with my friend. Thankfully I haven't had it happen to me since.

I'm pretty sure you can use spells (I've used instant recharge a lot, and none of the others get greyed out unless I'm extinguished) but I can't say I've ever tried to place a boat, nor have I ever seen one. it's not exactly the most cost effective place to put them, I usually find them in orbit.

my thinking is, that the PC demo being on version 0.23.5 is what's enabling PC players to leave message boats. i can't verify that since the demo doesn't work on my laptop, so i'm trying verify what i've seen against other players' experiences

i can only assume something happened on TGC's side when 0.23.5 was pushed out for PC -- they've been able to change select things without patches before, like when there was the glitch with daily quests for friendship interactions in 0.23.0... there was one day when one of the quests was changed in the middle of the day

unfortunately i cant verify anything at that date, I don't remember if I saw any boats and I didn't actually have any boats in my inventory before now (an issue I thankfully checked for before crossing PNR )
still, having boats up there wouldn't break any game balance like memories and spaces could, so that's probably why they're allowed (now?)

It's the main way to get ascended candles. You sacrifice your winged light (aka child of light), then you get ascended candles. And you use those ascended candles to purchase wing buffs from constellation spirts and travelling spirits. The wing buffs act as permanent winged light. Then you collect children of light again and repeat that process every week so that you can unlock all the wing buffs

usually pick up like 40 or so through a week just heading into each realm + treasure candle spots to clear out the chevrons, and i have 33 wings from ascended spirits so it plops me around 75, +10 or so in eden, and thats enough to get through til the sandy hill in the constant rock zone in the end with like 10-20 left or so. there are only 6 left at that point really, and i can be ok with missing those lol

I was up to the end of the eye and gave my last light. I died and saw the moment where we have to hug to find our light and go up to Orbit BUT, my phone closed the game, and when restarting it I used the shrine, to go back and continue. It puts me back in the eye of Eden, without any light, and in a version of the eye without stone storm. Impossible to die to continue... From home impossible to go anywhere other than to use the return shrine.. Am I doomed to stay in the eye for eternity or is there a way to reset myself? I restarted the application around thirty times, I even tried the chibi fall to see if it would make me reappear in another location... nothing worked. I made a bug report, but if you have other ideas I'm interested!

The most challenging thing as a Chibi in Eden(Base off my actual experience) is that there is a chance if you get hit by the rock rain you could fall off the map or floor, I found that out the hard way and i have NO light to light me up down there, Luckily my Sky parent is there to help me out.

Another challenging thing being a Chibi is jumping on the gap on the first part of Eden, I always get frustrated with it.

Though there are huge advantages as Chibi like smaller hitbox and you could easily dodge the rock rain, And some shortcuts in Eden(But i won't recommend it if you like to experience Eden at its fullest)

That's the point. 50 isn't much to enter with (there's 116 across the realms, 115 without the one after eden).
You don't lose any progress beyond the WL you collected, but your reward from Eden will let you get more Wing Buffs, which act like bonus WL.

no, every WL in the realms that you collected, the physical golden children of light, those go back to where you originally found them.
Wing Buffs are a separate upgrade, that act like extra WL.
The point of Eden is to die, ideally by giving WL to as many statues before you run out.

Yeah you can. I’ve seen some people who have 120 wings or so start their WL giving run at about statue 36 and do the hard section first. They come back and redo the first section with only occasional rock rain on their second run through since they’re unlikely to lose wings there (this second run guarantees 9 candles if you get all statues 1-36 + however many candles they managed from the first run from statues 36-63

i'd recommend looking at the map when you do eden runs, it really helps with not only ensuring you're getting the statues, but also you can match up landmarks to know when you're entering the next zone of difficulty.
Also, my go-to strategy in eden is (if we refer to the giant exploding shard as 'north') sweeping west-east back and forth as I go along the path, to make sure I'm not missing anything

it is an interesting challenge, since it's easy to miss one or two, and you need enough WL for the final section.
My friend finally got it with 190 WL in their pocket, but we messed up halfway and took a hit sooner than we needed to, so it could possibly be done with less.

If you use the shortcut the first part takes around 5 minutes to get past, then the dying will take you maybe 15-30 minutes. Then being reborn is annoying but probably about 10-15 minutes if you're fast?

So around 35-45 minutes total

Personally i don't do eden much anymore not because the dying is annoying, but getting the WL back isreally annoying

I’ve seen them manage more normally cause they get a friend who’s well versed in the way to take them to section 2, and they do seem to get further. I can’t tell how well that would work alone - it’d probably depend on how well you know the way, the rock rain patterns, the timing, et alt. It’s also worth noting that the ppl doing actually need the ascended candles

so if you light 46 one one run, you can only light the remaining 17 statues.
The weekly maximun if AC from Eden is 15.75, with 0.25 AC per statue.

This is a Moth encouragement post.
You don’t need too many WL to get the most ascended candles(AC).
Last night I got 14.5 candles(58 statues) with my brother’s Moth- first Eden run with 100 Starting Wing light. My own skid has 129 starting wing light, and the best I got out of the 5 runs so far is 13.5 AC.
My advice is,…take your time…don’t rush when you are in a safe zone. Look around a lot for all the statues in the early stage. Let a vet in-front light up all the safe zones. Don’t be afraid to be alone. Stay behind (2 safe zone distance) so that you don’t crowd the space, also it doesn’t force you to move forward in their pace.

It's not perfect cover, but the exact shadow of protection is a little misleading. While facing the crystal in the second and third areas, it's a bit away and slightly to the right of the boulder to be shaded from the rocks.

restarting the game puts you in storm lock, usually without any other players, so you die near instantly and immedietly move on.
you can also try cutting your wifi for about 30 seconds to force a server split, but the first method is more consistent

You still have to do the hugging cutscene and stuff but afterwards...
Once you're inside the castle with clouds, instead of flying right into the long tunnel with light creatures, you head to the wall on the left. There should be a window that you can go through a little higher up.
You can flap upwards a few times into the clouds, then you'll be automatically dragged upwards into Orbit within a minute

• pick a time/day where you can spend as much time there. eden can be tricky especially for first-timer/those who are not used to it.
• take your time in there if you need. learn the cues (visual and audio)
• bring in spells like instant recharge and fast recharge if you like. i always used these especially in the last area
• if you can manage, bring a recharging prop

going in with a group can also make the trip easy (however can get real messy if something went wrong)

you can find some really good tutorials on YouTube, especially if you're going solo :)) they generally show you shortcuts and hiding places, but my advice would be to only attempt the easy shortcuts for your first time so you can get confident first!
also, the last part of Eden where you are lighting the statues is actually the easiest part imo, just a little bit scary when you're about to run out of wings before you reach a statue

It is satisfying to get all the map shrines, and with all the drama and distractions of Eden, the ones in Eden are particularly fun. But they won't help you get more winged lights. Every winged light in Eden is easily visible from the natural path through it: one by itself to the left of an entrance, and a long passage of them once you're through that entrance. That's it. There are none in the statue area.

Collecting all 99 winged lights (not including 10 from Eden and 6 from Shattered Memories) while doing Candle Run at the same time took me around 3-4 hours. you'll do it faster if you're just getting the winged lights and ignoring CR

there's a squaree of darkness water close to the place where you can zip back in bounds. you don't have to land in the water, but it makes a good landmark.
I haven't tried to eden run since the update, so i don't know if it's still there, but it certainly was in the last update, I uber via the OOB route.
The lighting change updates make it appear like a black flat texture nowadays.

Eden was updated a while back, for Season of Shattering. I don't believe this most recent update has any significant changes to Eden.
There isn't exactly a hard line between section 2 and section 3, but as you push forward, the safe interval between rock rains becomes shorter, until it's non-existent a little before the final lantern.

It's certainly not as obvious of a line as between 1 and 2, yeah?
But it is noticeable if you have to back track and move up again.
Rather subtle otherwise.

Oh but there was always 3 separate sections of different rates of rock rain.

there are 3 shrines, and one in orbit.
1 in the social space, one just before the vertical pipe section in the second area, and one in a small circle of rocks close to the entrance just after PNR.
the one in orbit is under this sort of bridge structure, where the sky turns pink.

I feel like I get weirdly emotional in Eden. Even when my wing light is in the single digits, I'm going "one more! let me save one more! just one more statue!" It's like I'm out here actually trying to save people, not just running through to get candles

Eden is an extremely effective piece of presentation, given that Sky is basically a colourful fun cartoon. It can terrify and inspire better than many games with far more convincing graphics. Game programmers and artists should study Eden and analyse why it works so well.

I'm currently going through Eden with some friends and the environment looks a lot more gray than usual. One of my friends agrees with me, the other doesn't. Has anyone else noticed any colour differences?

It's a solid amount, though for a first run it's more about getting used to the area (especially if you plan on becoming well acquainted with it in the future)
more is better of course, there should be 115 WL accessible to you (though 10 are in eden, you can't miss them)

yes there is a spot with 2 statues next to each other. i don't know the exact spot but when you come across it you will notice that there will be 2 statues in the same spot. good thing is that it's not really hidden so you will defintiely encounter it just by going straight

yes there is a WL at the end of the first area, you can not miss it.
the remaining 9 are at the end to the second area, you will pass them as you reach the end.

Make sure you burn all the statues, you'll get 15.75 max candles for 63 statues.
If you already have 6 candles, that means you "just" burn 24 statues..

Why should statues be given wings in Eden?

Each statue gives 0.25 AC, the currency used to purchase wing buffs and some spells. There are 63 statues for a max of 15.75 AC per eden reset.
Also if you entered Storm, you're stormlocked anyways, so might as well not waste the effort having collected all that WL for nothing.

Oh that's clever. The number of radioactive children you drop is proportional to how many you have left. So as long as you have something around a certain number, and you crawl in an optimal path, you're basically guaranteed to make it to the end.

Yep all part of the 0.18.0 change that came with Season of Shattering.
It also means you don't get stuck waiting for 3 years for your vet friend to lay in the end zone and die

you still round it out with a relatively smaller amount extra over anyone else you brought with you, 20-40 depending on how many WL difference we started with and if I missed any statues along the way and finished with too many extra.

I did the run slightly differently today and found myself dropping five per hit rather than three and started to think recent patches made it tougher for PC. 😆

There seems to be a weighted randomness to how many WL you lose. I average 3 once I drop down to the 40-50 range but occasionally still explode 5 WL on a hit.
but I never lose more than 1 or 2 at a time once I'm at like <20 ish.

So... uh... I ran back in to Eden (irrelevant: to see which two statues I missed in my first run) and... sparkles are just... all over the place in nonsensicle locations. Bug? Are they supposed to be attached to statues, and are just in the wrong spots or something?

Huh, yeah, I went in with just 55 or so at the very start and still made it to the last statue (but only had to drop off two batteries on the way). Interesting.

What is storm locked?

When you cross the Point of No Return, you enter the area called Storm. This is where you give your WL to the statues.
As you can not (normally) leave storm once you've entered it, the game goes into a special state, called Storm Lock, to prevent you from quitting the game and returning to the realms.
In Stormlocked Home, all of the gates are closed and empty, there's a thunder sound, and you are instructed to use the return shrine to continue.

All portals will be closed, and the constellations won’t be accessible. Most entrances won’t work and you’re oob in an empty building if you enter. Only the cape shop and spell shop entrance still work, you can use them to escape pnr if you didn’t already save statues.
The daylight cycle will be there like usual, no thunderstorm like at home.
But you can still meditate to go home, and the firework event meditating circle will appear as well (it’ll activate the portals except Eden and the entrance to wind paths)

as much as you can. i'd recommend a bit more to 100+. the endless rain can be pretty brutal plus unknown luck hhh

Hits from Eden lava cause you to lose wl proportional to how many you have. So if you go in with lots of wl you lose lots of wl when you're hit. The idea is to give everyone with a reasonable number (70 is okay, 100 is better) roughly an equal chance.

I was able to make it thru part 1 without getting hit, then in part 2 I lost like 15 WL because I forgot if I activated a few statues near the end and crawled back to check lol

It is very rare to get all the statues even with 150 wl. Getting 13 Ascended Candles (13 * 4 == 52 statues) is good. Any more than that is an unexpected bonus.

Whenever I go back to check previous statues having already lost WL I end up losing more. It is always better to go forward.

Yeah I hate that the draw distance for the blue flames indicating lit statues is so small, it seems like a glitch I get disoriented easily too and always forget which statues I've already lit

You can try little flights. The rocks aim for directly under your feet. But in reality "pray and crawl" is just as good a strategy. There is no winning strategy there except to have a very good grasp of where the light shrines are. Oh, and to remember that some light shrines near the end do not offer shelter from red rock falls even if they look like they do.

I think I just literally need to enter part 3 with more WL's than I did today, and not make any mistakes along the way, which sounds pretty tough

ever since the recent updates, players are divided into two groups. you are in group A while your friend is in group B

i saw someone suggested that, the one in group B (in this case, seeing all 5 switches) to light up and open the door before you both go in

a couple weeks ago i got in with a friend ( I'm in A they're in B ) where we both opened the doors, waited a little while and popped in and werent merged apart

this week's eden reset though, we couldn't get together and ended up having to do it separately

I've learned that as long as you go into the final part of Eden (endless rock rain) with a certain amount of WL you're basically guaranteed to get the rest of the statues

the hard part is part 2, right before it... I can't figure that one out

@outer oyster there's 2 parts to eden. The first part has timed rain while the 2nd part has more constant rain. You can tell the difference because one part is foggier and the rain is coming towards you instead of side to side if that makes sense. First half has 33 statues and 2nd half has 30 63 total

For the 2nd half you wanna get to the statue to that you can light first cause if you don't then you're stuck crawling the rest of the way. You will wanna die eventually though

Yes. Don't worry about the statues you give your wl to though if they're out of the way. There's statues you can light to recharge you which you wanna do first. If you don't make it to those statues and run out of light you're stuck crawling the rest of the way

Then once you light the statue for recharging then you can go back and grab any wl statues you missed

Mind that you can use an Instant recharge spell in the less harsh rock rain areas to recover (getting hit closes the menu )

Also it's a bit tricky to explain where it is, but on the far wall just before the 2nd half of eden there's a gap in the wall. You can go through the gap and grab 2 statues that are out of the way easier

Yeah. You can use recharge spells if you don't make it to the recharge statue and run out of light
