Oooh ok. For making music sheets, it's best if you first learn how to match the keys/buttons on your sky instrument to the pitch of the melody in the songs you like. For instance, you will need to listen to the songs a lot, play one part of the song and then try to match it to the keys/buttons on your sky instrument.

The easiest song to start would be jingle bells, or any other songs that you are really familiar with the melody of.

Hello Arabrax. Yes it would be possible to match and mix with skykid songs. You'd need a dash of creativity and in some cases, communicate with the sky kids what their style is to include all their unique elements into the new composed song (and make sure to credit them too as well as have their permission).

Improvisation is dependent on the interpretation of the moods of the songs--so the most of the mistakes usually fall in the categories of blurring out the melodies of the song, the transition is too complicated, etc. The good news is that you already have experience and a basic foundation of transcribing songs, in which I can give you suggestions for improvement and share with you different ways to transcribe a song. pure imagination and the undertale main theme are popular choices, along with shelter by porter robinson. they’re all not too difficult, and are very repetitive happy birthday is also a good one, and christmas/holiday music generally isn’t too hard. personal reccs are rozen garten from the game pocket mirror, and lamp from lieat (just main melody only for both, and if you feel like you’re up for a bigger challenge you can include accompaniment parts) 💕

So I’m new to playing music in Sky. I try to find a relatively secluded spot to practice songs. Does anyone have a regular issue with people coming up and doing a bunch of rude emote spams while you try to play?

Maybe you got a bad server? That doesn’t usually happen, most people are respectful

That happens sometimes for me. It can be either the jealous players (that feel that they can't play up to your standards so they try to make you mess up), or the troll players (who derive pleasure out of making you mess up).
What you can do is to mute the "sound effects" found in "Audio" when you click/tap on the settings on the upper far right. This makes you unable to hear their honks and other various noises from emotes.

If the annoying player is spamming a single key (or multiple keys) on their instrument, try your best to keep playing your songs--or, go through several of your favorites. After a while, those that troll will give up and simply stop playing cause they can't get a reaction out of you.

That's ok. You make a chord by using two fingers or 3 (one that includes your right hand thumb) and then press the keys at the same time. You want to find the position where when you play the song, it doesn't feel uncomfortable, rather, it helps you transition to the other parts of the song.

Hey musicians, can I ask for some advice? I love playing the piano and I'm practicing to play this one song and I realize that some of the notes (or chord?) need 4 buttons pressed at the same time. Now I don't have any formal musical training and I have limited idea about how to position my hands to play more efficiently. I mainly use my thumb, pointer and middle fingers when playing but the 4 button chord/note is a real struggle for me. I position my hands parallel to my Switch as if it was an actual piano in front of me and that's worked for me for easier songs, but do you guys use any other hand placement/orientations that could make playing easier?

Generally, I find it easier on mobile. I understand if you don't have that, though. Personally, I think if you keep practicing or if you use different finger combinations, you should start to get a little better

Usually for chords, we rarely go for having a 4 finger chord while transcribing a song; it is usually very difficult to plan it into the song and will intefere with the overall performance quality and tempo. As such, we will instead, try to split the chords from 1 hand 4 keys, to 2 hands playing 4 keys simultaneously. This means that one hand will play half of the chord and the other will play the other half of the chord (using whichever fingers you feel are comfortable for your playing style). This is to allow our hands to smoothly transition to other areas of the sky instrument.

I think it's good with the harp (it's the closest instrument to ukulele in my opinion). Personally, I'd say that you could explore more of what melodies sound like the ocean on YouTube as such with keywords like "instrumental ocean", "relaxing beach", etc. and then sample them from there. In other words, you borrow what you like and think sounds like the ocean and then create something entirely new out of it.

once you remember the notes to a song you can add the timing/flow

Hi I’m trying to make a sheet for Dos Oruguitas from Encanto into a music sheet, and I have no experience in music or music theory other than the minimal given from my third grade class. Does anyone have any guides or advice? I wanna do this because it’s a very pretty song, and I’m curious if it’s possible

First things first: try to find the pitch for it. This way, you know what pitch is correct. For example, some songs may require the pitch to be a D Major, or Ab Major. Second, try to see if it’s possible. Some note combinations are sometimes not available like F and Bb (For C Major anyway). Also, a combination like E, F, F# is also not possible at all. These are mainly due to the really dumb limitation of notes in Sky. Second, try to find a source of it (if possible) to learn all the key timings and placements. (Unless you know said timings and key placements)
