you know how you can only be in one pitch at a time in sky? like in homespace, you're in c major. accidentals are notes that are outside of a pitch - if you were playing on the piano, you have full access to all the notes, but that isn't the case in sky when you're limited to just the 15

yeah, it's why a lot of notes sound weird for certain songs - like the among us body reported jingle, that has accidentals in it so you'll never hear it played accurately in sky

This Le Petit Prince collaboration is giving me the whole French nobility feels, and the Holy See of Ishgard is also something with nobility and middle class with French themes on it as well. Its medieval Europe style vaguely brings to mind The Maid of Orléans (AKA Jeanne d’Arc). As such, I have first acquired what I like to call the alpine coat cape before recording this song!

I believe all platforms currently have this issue when using touchscreen.

One work around is to play music with a controller, though that does come with its own issues. Some controllers don't allow for all notes to be played (thankfully joycons don't have this issue), and some note combinations are impossible with controller.

Another workaround is to aim your screen someplace you won't see other skids (at the ground, into a corner, etc). Caves and out of bounds areas and random nooks and crannies work best for this, though this method is not guaranteed to ensure uninterrupted play.

I feel your pain. I've been practicing playing with my joycons to avoid this issue. Outside of that, going to the most remote locations possible is currently the best strategy for uninterrupted play. There are a few corners in forest near wind walls that I've found are pretty good, and a few spots in wasteland. ||Eden past the social area/lobby is also good, though noisy and full of key shifts. If you practice there, you'll likely want to tweak your audio settings||

just a few personal recommendations: (1) starting from 0:26 sounds a bit wonky, i’d try doing B then G G G for when it goes down, instead of B then B B B - if that makes any sense.

(2) you can use Bb major instead of C. i feel like you could definitely do this song in C, but i’m not sure if all the keys work out, or if there are any accidentals (and maybe C major works just fine, i just can’t think straight rn to be able to tell)

there’s a couple other things if you’re striving for accuracy, but so far it sounds great on its own and really there’s no harm in deviating a bit to make it your own keep it up!

honestly tho what you have currently aside from the ending is a really solid start

okay so Bb major definitely sounds like the better option , i think if you continued with C major you’d be missing an F# (and C major doesn’t have any sharps or flats in it) for the part after the B G G G (B D), where it would go B F# F# F#. i linked a video below with how it would sound in your current major

if you don’t mind that single note being off, you could continue with c major. and that’s all just going off how i’d personally arrange it, you’re free to decide whatever - ultimately these decisions are up to you good luck in finishing this!

No, this is a widespread issue - I've got it with a few devices. As I understand it, the notes have a smaller space for actually registering a key press. Though I've also found that some won't register on touchscreen at all until you trigger them with a controller (if you play with controller)...

I believe a fix is on the way (there usually is), but it might take a while for us to see it ^^;

In the meantime, there are a few really good apps/websites for practicing and composing music for Sky. I personally like Sky Music, but I've also heard great reviews of Sky Studio

ledgers do exist - but you'd need to either be in a higher pitch if you're playing in-game, or you'd need to add a winter piano if you're transcribing in a composer, for that extra 3rd octave

How do I read sheet music like this?

I think it’s 3 instruments but not sure which three. Each color represents a instrument. You can follow each pic one after the other to practice on sky app.

the colors don’t mean anything, each color just represents a row. green for the top, blue for middle, pink for bottom row

just follow along with the sheet, it reads from left to right, then you skip down to the next row

unfortunately this type of sheet doesn’t give you a key or a bpm, so it can be a bit difficult to play it exactly as the transcriber/composer intended

you play exactly as it's plotted out, for each time (in other words, if there's 3 colored notes on the same grid then yes you play them at the same time) - so the first couple would sound like this (i just used c major so it might sound off. apologies abt the timing too, i'm half asleep)

Is it annoying for players to come listen to you playing? My friend and I met someone playing for their friend in hidden forest Constellation they didn't seem to be bothered by us listening untill they moved with their friend behind some tree and Continued playing.

I’m not sure how to explain the keys to someone other than show them the sheet music I based it off of though.

As for song of storms, this ones a bit different because the in game instrument can’t play enough range to play all the notes. Here’s the sheet music I used, but I couldn’t play some of the chords due to them being too low (if I played them at a higher octave, it sounded very weird so I left it out)

I’ll never forget the time I attended the symphony of the goddesses concert back a few years ago. It inspired me to practice my flute more. I also picked up leading the ocarina irl as well

Well at home is C major. That is the correct key for a lot of the ocarina songs from Oot and mm

Well technically home is C major or A minor (for the minor key ones).

Like lost woods is c major and song of storms is a minor

But fun fact: if you turn off the music BEFORE entering another realm and keep the music off, your key won’t change. That’s how I was able to still play in the key of C despite the fact that I was in the forest instead of at home (I’m talking about the lost woods video I posted a while back)

Remember. You turn off the music setting. Not the musical instrument setting.

I played the song of storms extra slow so it would be easier to see the keys. In the first loop, I played the easier version, and in the second loop, I played the harder version.

Just remember the diamond keys are all indicative of a different octave.

Let’s say you’re in c major for example. The first diamond shaped key is the lowest C, the second diamond shaped key is the middle C and the last diamond shaped key is highest C

Thinking of it that way makes it easier for me to remember which key corresponds to which note.
