For example, Bb major there is a sheet for it (i can't remember), but db major there is one Aurora song which have that key (Queendom) and lots of sheet for C major. You can just open that a little bit, stop, and just play it. I think the key will stay (unless you got your bgm on)

in general the trickiest part is figuring out what key you actually need in game to play the song you want

like if a song is in C minor, you actually need a room with Eb major

good question! different songs can use different scales. 'major scale' generally sounds happy, and 'minor scale' sounds sad. the issue with playing minor songs in sky is that all of the instruments only play major scales. so if you're in a room in the key of C, it will always be C major.

but! fun thing about major and minor, some of them use the same notes. in particular, a given major key uses the same notes as the minor key 3 notes below it. so C major and A minor use the same notes.

thus, if you're trying to play a song in C minor, finding a room in C major won't work. you'll end up with some funky sounding notes. BUT, you can get around it by going to a room in Eb major instead, which uses the same notes as C minor!

ye! there are in fact other scales aside from major and minor, but those two are the most common. it gets a bit more complicated when you use other scales, also known as modes.

for example, ✨lydian✨ mode sounds kinda ethereal. to play something in lydian, you actually need to go to the key 5 notes below it.

a lot of the music in the sky ost makes use of modes other than major and minor. it also tends to use these things called quartal chords a lot, which often use notes outside the key. thus, the sky ost can actually be really tricky to play in game

They usually indicate the order of notes! Yellow > light green > darker green > purple/pink and so on! So instead of playing in one go, they have a slight delay from one another.

Usually the different coloured rows indicate which row the notes are on

But for the multicoloured like the one in middle, it means you roll the notes in a sequence from yellow to dark purple in a gradient

this was actually so annoying to play bc i needed notes outside the ranges of a few of the instruments. ideally i would have switched to somewhere with A major, but the only place with that is the 4th floor of vault, which has so much reverb you can barely hear what you're playing
and then i decided i wanted to only play in grassy areas for the ✨aesthetic✨, which meant running all the way to the area after the forest temple and waiting until the end of the background music just for a singular Bb

If you turn music off once you are in vault you take the A major with you to any other location

This applies to all locations, this is basically how you tune instruments in game, once the music is off in settings, the tuning is "locked" in

the scales in sky are always major. that is, the note with the circle inside the diamond is always the root of the major key. if you want a scale other than major, you gotta hunt down the enharmonic (the major scale that uses the same notes). it'll just be shifted.

You can learn by:

• Using an app like Sky Studio or Sky Nightly Studio to have a tablature that moves depending on your progress, and practicing that until you feel confident not to stop
• Having the full sheet in the form of tablature in a PDF file or HTML file and reading it like a book
• Following a video tutorial online of the sheet and replicating the notes

You can split this even further depending on how much of the sheet you want to practice at a time, if you want to consciously try to memorize each of the notes, rely on muscle memory, analyze the sheet to try to find patterns to use as guides, or focus on faster and/or more complex parts in the sheet
Whatever works for you, be experimental

For me, I finished the Careless whisper sheet I abandoned many months ago using Sky Studio and playing it over and over again sdsdsdd

On the other hand, I analyzed an Interstellar sheet and used labels for patterns *And used a website link for the tablature itself

I just recorded videoes myself playing with each instrument (with the built in vid recording of sky) and then did my best to line up the timing in one edit (I use VN for mobile)

Its easier (i think) with sheet music because you can use the backing track as a guide to line up each recording as much as possible.

It might be better to just use your own screen recording app especially if you're planning to record a full song. Editing will be pretty much the same.

1. I do use it often.
2. The one thing I’d say is that, like the violin, it works better on slower tempos and sustained notes than faster, quickly pressed notes, so how often you play it will kinda depend on the music you prefer to play. I usually use it for slower songs I transcribed and like to play vs. faster music sheets.
3. It sounds beautiful. There’s one note, the lowest note on the scale, that in (one?) key sounds off in a humorous way and earned the nickname Horrora. But other than that one note (which I kinda love), the sounds and tones of the voice instrument are just gorgeous. There’s also nothing else like it in the game.
4. I’d give it a 9.8-10.

1. I wouldn’t say I use it often, but I do absolutely use it.
2. It’s good whenever you want to imitate vocals / sound like you’re literally singing 🎶 much better for slower songs though
3. I like putting it in instrument stands to give others a chance to try it since you can only buy it during the events.
4. I rate the AURORA’s voice instrument 9/10, well worth the money since it’s a musical instrument rather than just another outfit.

It's suitable for lots of songs, but not in all keys
The lower notes get way too loud in specific keys and you can check that using shared spaces+sheets (sky music nightly isn't accurate to what it sounds ingame)
Like owlet mentioned it got its own nickname and you can search for it in this channel/server for examples

Its funny, but it can get in the way sometimes(can't play it in orbit without changing keys because E is the most extreme example of this)

Otherwise, it's basically perfect for what it tries to achieve
If you are OK with giving tgc money for it and you have the desire to use it I don't see why not

Depends on your tastes and preferences, in a personal opinion, violin sounds more usefull making covers, aurora sounds and seems fit better with slow songs

How do u figure out what key a song is in. I know it is dependent on what notes/chords are used in the song, but I’m not that good at figuring out what notes/chords are being used in a song lol. I guess my next best guess is simply googling what key the song im interested in is in, but idk how reliable that is tbh

I’m doing this cause I wanna start recording covers of my own, and I’m using the sky music app to compose the songs for me to practice with

the key a song is in isn't something you can figure out purely by listening unless you have something called perfect pitch.

but if you have an instrument in front of you, you can just guess notes until you find the right key. if THAT'S the part that's giving you trouble (like actually figuring out which note is the key center, even with an instrument in front of you), then that just takes some musical training.

Actually we can tune our instruments! But you're gonna need a music sheet for that. You just have to pull out your instrument then play a music sheet, then pause it. You'll notice that the key is different.

In order for this to work tho, you have to turn off your Music Volume in the settings. Because the background music in each realms can also change your keys

One example of this is the Prairie Lobby background music, it changes the key to D Major. The Vault Lobby music is F Major

This video I posted here yesterday is also an example of this there's a part in the background music of Prairie Peaks that switches the key to G flat. I had to mute the music at the right time to keep that key and play the Pink Pony Club on it's original key

hello fellow sky kids! i'm recently getting back into sky, and playing instruments in game. what i'm looking for is some idea of how to practice every day, as you would a real instrument. not necessarily specific songs, just exercises. where do i start? i can play chords on keyboard irl, however i am not sure which is what on the sky instrument interface. i do not have perfect pitch and can't tell what chords are what.
i saw a guide way back on chording patterns, but i could never understand it. any advice?

the pinned messages in this channel have some good tips on how the music system works in sky. the good news is, with the way it's set up, it's hard to play something that sounds "bad". i don't have perfect pitch either, but i do have relative pitch so it's been a lot of trial and error for me lol

that being said, the daily music sheet in the harmony hall is a good place to practice following along to music sheets and getting a feel of the keyboard layouts (to my understanding it's pretty different depending on what ur playing on, i play on ps4 contoller on pc) also u can change the key binds in ur settings if playing on pc, so mess around with that and see what works best for ya if ya can!! other than that have fun!! just keep practicing the music sheets and look up tutorials for songs u wanna play!!

i've heard her bring her voice down that low quite a few times, heathens is a good example actually. however!

the Voice of AURORA instrument is likely using auto-tune which inevitably changes how she sounds naturally. just like her albums, if you think about it. aurora live versus aurora's recorded albums are very different vocal experiences, imo. but either way, yeah.. she can reach pretty deep notes like that.

Okay... Ik that I like music, but I have absolutely no idea about music tuning, pitch, Sky instruments, or whatever. But after seeing any music cover or self-made music here, my mind goes "I know you want to play it." So yeah, this is my first attempt.
Tbh if Moonstruck hasn't used pitch D, it can be played in-game using piano and harp (contrabass like Duet's cello also works besides harp), but yeah... It really needs a high pitch in both instruments.
