the best way i've found? when you're at a checkpoint, wait for one to go by (they won't hit you then iirc) and then just go as fast as you can. keep moving as well as you can. they are hard to avoid though

Time them, try to light at least a few candles before you die at their hand every time, eventually you’ll half memorize where they are and when they come, the trial works so it lets you pass for like a minute or two without the fuzzies before they start becoming regular

it’s super tough to solo, much easier with at least 1 friend, especially if you have warp with them. Also definitely send in your feedback to tgc there’s still plenty of time for them to change it before fire trial hits live. I’m pretty sure they’ll be releasing one trial quest per week

You can’t stand directly on top of the candle to avoid it, but you can zoom out, look down a few candles apart to see how the whispers might bend, and stand on the opposite side of where they will pass.

Generally speaking, in both live and beta the sky kids shadow bothers me but it becomes a lot more obvious in the beta trials. While doing earth, I was standing on one platform and while the rest of my sky kids shadow was behind it, the feet were on the platform in front of it. The shadow looks like a bunch of circles and cut up rectangles attached by invisible string too

First, kids(spirits) need to learn how to avoid water. Because they will travel by ship and move into rainforest. Second, kids need to learn how to jump and climb. Then, kids learn to fly. Last, kids learn to light lamps to prepare for storm.

That's something i wanted to submit as feedback though: I'm not sure the shepherd system is really being tested in conditions similar to the live game, because most of the "moths" we see in beta are actually players who already have some knowledge and skill about the game, so we'd be approaching new beta players with a different mindset than someone who might actually be a completely new player in live (case in point: it's much easier to trust a new beta moth to lead because they likely actually know what they're doing, and there's even the added pressure of not overly coddling someone who's likely experienced). Beta moths are only newbies in the sense that they haven't acquired the original wing strength they had in live, but they very much know how to go about their business otherwise.

Yeah, it seems some portions of trials (one whole trial glares at fire trial) don't follow the theme of the game. As I've said in my feedback, I appreciate them going out of their "comfort" zone sort of by doing capeless and doing mechanics not currently in sky, but the theming of being a relaxing game to enjoy with friends isn't what I get from fire trial and some parts of other trials. Especially with the death server split bug.

bring a friend and make them hold their candle out, you do the same, and just walk along the path, be short too if possible it worked for me perfectly fine. and if krill farts pass by just light the nearest candle and stay till its gone

Death loop flashes really aggressively for me. Like it starts to fade back to scene and flashes white again then fade a little them flash white. I've learned to identify when it ends on its own by sound because I literally can't look at my screen

I wish there was something to include everyone in events like this for halloween. It always feels kind of empty to have an event that feels like a backdrop to sell cosmetics, with 2 spells for everyone and only permanent items for money. Dont know how others feel, but these events would be better with however many items for sale and at least one permanent one for candles or through a task, so it feels like everyone has an actual stake.

This is a completely free to play game with zero ads. The devs NEED to make money somehow to pay their salaries AND to keep the game servers running. So app purchases are 100% necessary. It's actually really cool that their app purchases specifically don't give advantages in the game and that they still bring app purchase items back for free eventually if you're on sky for the long haul. I say this as someone who's dropped probably over $500 on this game.

Plus we don't know if the IAPs are all they have. We already know the toilet krill is a halloween thing and for the 1 year anniversary, the whole office was decorated so there might be decorations or something else for the free players.

Oh yes, I know they need to make money. Decor, and spells you run out of arent really the same though as something lasting that makes you care to participate in an event. And in seasons there is a mix of items, free and paid, which incentivizes everyone to participate and makes it more fun, and so in theory they could have a single free item. Maybe make one more seasonal item paid to balance it out? Also, one major difference between seasonal events like hween and seasons, is hween only has items for IAP, and they are never available at another time. Seasons are the opposite. I just wish they'd balance the inclusiveness

events like halloween "days of mischief" and other "days of [fill in the blank]" have always been IAPs for the permanent items though. Days of summer lights gave you a free lantern spell and boat spells but they're temporary. Days of healing didn't even give spells if I remember. Just a flower IAP.

i got through it with a lot of luck and persistence. but i also think its really hard solo compared with going with friends. i already left feedback on the difficulty though
also, tip for the 3rd level of the fire trial, when you get reset, you are always facing in the direction you need to go next

I did it solo even with photosensitivity. it's a major pain though cuz I constantly had to cover my screen and wait for sound cues to know it was safe to play again also dying after every 1-2 candles was tedious
