Not sure if this helps, but along with the steps provided in faq, also force stop both google play and google play games. The install button showed up in google play games, not the store for me, but still check both. Good luck!

if you have more than 70 (iirc) friends, they don't all display at once in your constellation. if you leave home space and return, the constellation refreshes and will sometimes show you different friends. but I do have a problem of some of my friends literally not displaying until I've blocked about 50 people because of the various algorithms it uses to show you friends stickerGloomy it's time consuming to block and then unblock so many people

beta doesn't have the ship. we do have a pedestal right now with spells to test the STAR pins functionality. Definitely try those out (especially in various circumstances in the game) and report on their functionality to #beta-feedback ❤️

I love the how and whys in the lore... The reasons for ....when i think of the game story before this season it all makes sense , it all fits in ...they have done such a good job ..so much of the story is going over and over in my head ... They have gone deep with this one and took so many different angles ..im mind blown 🤍... Its much more than i expected 🤍

it's fine to be excited about cosmetics and such but just make sure you prepare yourself for the possibility of a progress wipe. It could happen the day after you achieve your goal and that would be heartbreaking if you weren't prepared for the possibility

@lilac helm the devs actually investigate in game reports. the report helps them more determine if it actually was a bug or a hacker. and it's much easier for them to find a fix if they have the account involved in their hands

I first thought that the eyes in the fire trial was the fire prophet spirit messing with me. I thought hes gonna show up at the end and laugh while being proud of us, and at the end we'll all laugh it out. Then I realize there were another, and then two more. totally get your frustration there! at least slowmode isn't 15 minutes anymore pFIRE (beta invite waves were definitely producing enough hype to crash discord SkyLOL ). hopefully no more auto-mods happen to you stickerHeart (edit: soup slowmode was 30 minutes at reset at one point. it wasn't a full day though)

BETA LORE DISCCUSSION:

okay i just noticed this. In the wall murals we see there is 4 lights, each on 4 realms. And you see the only realms that didnt have light is Isle and Vault

You might asked, why?

My theory is : Isle and Vault are symbolize as The Beginning and The End. They might didnt have any lights because there is no prophets come from those two realms. Since in the beginning there is yet to be learned , and in the end there is nothing left to be learned

Lore: king is confirmed but my theory is those winged lights are parts of king that fell from the sky that we need to collect and bring it back (eden). Notice in the second mural, there's glowing bois near the animals/elements and what is at the end of each trials? That's right, the shiny bois. Also, third mural they are transporting the golden child using boats and finally to a mountain and make it ascend (eden). Finally. I think we are king and we find pieces of ourselves in each realm (notice our constellation is a crown) also in the first mural, a golden child enters the cave of prophecy but who really entered the cave? YOU DID. Finally the you and I pin symbolises crown, so you and I is the king. The protagonist of this story, the ruler of your own fate

Report non-working STAR spells as bugs! Also if you encounter any issues with them. I.e. my tgc spell ended abruptly when I was hit by a krill. totally didn't get krilled on purpose for testing reasons SkyLOL

I love all the trials stickerShiny actually they can be much more challenging like other games that involve a lot of operations. eg, everytime you fall, you lose a star, or you get to be send back to the starting spot, it's called "the insane mode" lololol

@maiden latch That's for the You&I pin (which is actually two pins in a set). It teleports "I" to "You" or vice versa. But in Beta there doesn't seem to be a way to define who "You" and "I" are, since no one actually has the pins.

sky johnny, did you get a new link when beta invites went out? if you didnt, you're no longer registered as a beta tester.
@spark lance Everyone gets removed from the test plan at the end of the season. Then they do a new round of invites. You can be invited again, but you have to accept, same as the first time. This is how they keep a mix of old and new people in the test pool.

@neon flicker The devs try to have around 2 weeks between seasons, so when sanctuary ends in live, prophecy should arrive 2-3 weeks later. Beta seasons ending have no effect on the live season schedule SkyPray

oh just had a thought. there are spots in the earth trial maze that aren't accessible from the ground. I went up on the wall and accidentally fell into a corridor with no entrance/exit and had to chibi fall to get out. anyone else find one by accident?. edit: lol true Aeras. Four of them then become masters of handling these four elements to create magic (in particular lifting the rocks off the ground for air, raising waves of water from ponds for water, running really fast for earth), training other Sky people in the art using the trials placed in this cave. Mastering these four elements also bring virtues to the students (patience for water, resilience for earth, air for balance, courage for fire). The magical abilities and virtues gained from mastering the elements are used by the Sky people to maintain prosperity in the Sky kingdom and protect the kingdom from darkness. Children who master all four elements go to Eden then became one of the stars that can fall down and be collected as winged light. Now, those element masters return to teach the sky kids those arts, hoping that these kids will also use the knowledge learned to further return light to the world

I was able to get out of the loop by just erratically hitting the fire button until the lantern relit and I somehow was able to continue (no one else was with me either) but I'm not sure if it works for everyone or if I just got really lucky pFIRE

@bitter scroll nothing in the IAP store yet. someone yesterday theorized that the seasonal cosmetics were the halloween cosmetics this year . but we won't know what their plan is for halloween (besides the office krill) until it actually arrives in beta. Might be something new in the next app update since they are working on a build to fix the fire trial from death loop and to get the fire spirit working in game

@velvet palm it's most likely a hacker. they would of course claim it's a bug to avoid being reported because most hackers know what they're doing is against TOS. if you report them using the in game's reporting feature and it really turns out to be a bug, nothing happens to them. But it's good to report either way because if it is a bug then TGC has the affected player and it's much easier to pinpoint how that bug occured than it is by secondhand info in a bug report.

the quests were pretty hard on my first go, but after i got used to them. it just depends on the player really, i know some people thought they were still a bit easy, while others quit because of the difficulty sqwarlockDed
the devs can still polish up each trial and change the difficulty, so who knows what they'll look like later

That all depends on your game play and how you handle puzzles etc. For me, water was really easy because I love legend of zelda, same with the fire puzzle. Those are remeniscent of puzzles in zelda temples. Air was more like Mario games, earth was easy up till the spinny cubes bridge which was the most frustrating ever.

I was with 3 players (I didn't know) in the earth trial and all four of us kept falling and stomp emote-ing on those spinny cubes I think it took about 15 minutes for all 4 of us to get across and we waited for each other at that point

I did the first 3 trials as chibi (just because that's the mask I wear by default right now). You can slide off things more easily and also fall through the ground without doing it on purpose. adds a fun challenge to the trials SkyLOL

@sharp talon to your first thing: that's probably just limitations of the game engine since most light murals appear to float a little bit above the object they're on. better to float above than clip through. to your second thing: that's probably a hacker. use the in game reporting feature. even if on the super small change it's a bug, it still helps the devs pinpoint it and fix it.

i agree, when i did the air trial with a friend i accidentally pressed the follow button on them as i was falling so i ended up on the platform. i was so sad cuz i didn’t want to rely on them for anything and spammed the crying emote

I don’t think they’ll do anything with the OOB yet, but there are still empty walls and rocks floating in the floor so I am expecting some more action in that area. No idea what will trigger it though the 4th spirit shouldn’t be a trigger because it will disappear with the end of the season, so if more is going to happen down there then there is a missing or undiscovered trigger.

I love the trials aspect for sure. I think it’s a nice change. I can’t make any definitive opinions for myself until the live. Also I saw the rock texture in the floor glitching out.
Edit: I thought the portal was supposed to look like that???

@woeful harbor You can just fly out. 7 wings is difficult but I've done it once or twice: gravity gets strange partway through. But it looks like a fairly standard OOB (in whatever way the term "standard" applies to OOBs).

So far on my game there really aren't many bugs to report, other than the portal circles not working at first i haven't had any problems, and with those you just get up and walk away for a second and then they work. Anyone else the same?

i'm not sure if this is the death loop they were talking about, but if you immediately try to jump off the ledge at the beginning before venturing into the dark ball (looks like there's a lower floating rock you can reach), you'll lose light and start repeatedly getting hit like you're getting unlit, without respawning to an earlier point -- you can still move, but it's definitely distracting

(edit: just tried after entering but before lighting anything. This works too. You actually fall out of the black hole and keep going).

we’re beta testing. it’s better to catch any bugs/issues as early as possible so that dev team can fix it as early as possible and they have time to fix it.

If we waited until day 50 for the fire trial and then we noticed the dying loop... imagine the pressure on the devs to fix it!

I understand that many players want new areas to have more candles/wl, because it's nice to have things. At the same time I don't like how we focus so much on these things all the time. But looking at how desolate Ark is these days, there does need to be an incentive for players to return. It's a dilemma!

I do kind of like the idea of seeing the spirits in the Trials, though. Maybe make have "relive" scenes at various points (the spirit could cheat by hopping over gaps and walls so it doesn't give the whole route away), and then have the Spirit itself be the reward at the end instead of a star?

if the trials don't reward winged light, then other possibilities might include hearts or ascended candles on a weekly cooldown, but that might cause other balancing or lore issues (consider that a winged light is essentially only worth 1/4 of an ascended candle, which are currently tied specifically to eden for the storyline)

Candle packs are more for people who might have less time in their day to go candle running, so they're still helpful.
Its definitely been implied that you aren't meant to run the trials everyday. They're really tiring to do with a candle run.

Not all people going do candle run everyday to get candle, IAP candle pack is still getting buyed alot by people (mostly working person like me)
Basically tgc balance the game not to p2w
For people that have more free time can grind and for working person mostly they buy candle because no time to grind

had to wait for slowmode but the bigger the areas get, the longer candle runs take. people are already doing only partial candle runs (skipping isle and vault especially) so adding more candles might not necessarily make much difference in people buying candle packs or TS. I mean it's already 2+ hours and I certainly don't do that every day (especially not in two whole versions of sky)

Rewarding hearts every 48 hours would definitely not be a good idea, considering how some people are very good at oob-ing and/or doing these types of trials, while others are not. Besides, it would dilute the underlying meaning of the trials.

@ruby robin the fire eye has like 1m energy suck range, make sure when see them walk to side or make a quick run to avoid more damage if you cant go side

The new snow and sand textures in the realms definitely give a different "old" vibe but honestly I don't prefer them as they look very rough and raggedy, I mean they look fit for a place like the cave of prophecy but in valley I prefer the normal sharp textures, it looks like a snow storm came there pEyes

@random gull I'm not sure that longer cr's and lead changes made that much of a difference in who does and who doesn't do cr in a group. Besides usually the longer the run the bigger the possibility to someone go afk. Which is quite the opposite what the game should be about SkyShrug Don't get me wrong I'm doing the afk runs a looot and dont have problem with it since i got the help back when i need. But it's not the same when all of u is actively focusing on the game. pSkyHeart

So does anyone feel like the four elements topic came out of the blue. I dont feel any appeal to it. Is it just me? Or do you think its just lack of cutscenes that make all seem not worked through?
For me this season only worth two masks and one pants. I doubt new cape designs too. I mean rocks are a part of it...

@left dragon i feel you. in my opinion i think the story would be more developed with some more cutscenes rather than the glyphs all over the place. BUT i do kinda get it, i heard one theory that the different colored lights are in connection to enchantment. but overall, i think the story does seem a little lost, and cutscenes would definitely help

Yes there are people like that. I dont like beeing a part of those people but still as i was raised in this environment i feel more confortable in more masculine styled clothes

For me, this season has amazing gameplay. I'm probably one of the few that will do the trials again and again just for fun.

But the cosmetics are not my style. I only really like the ultimate gift mask.

For now im questioning if i dont like new cosmetics because i was spoiled so much by the fact that beta gives very early access to all the new stuff. However i recall that this didnt happen when i saw sanc cosmetics in beta. So i assume its just this season is not my style..

Masks are cool tho. But drum. It doesnt give many opportunities. You cant play it solely...

It's a game with characters that can fly - this is literally your chance to be anything and wear whatever.
I never ask for a fellow player's gender, because it has no bearing on how we play together in the game.
I change my outfit almost daily, because it's fun to be a different person every day.

I think the answer to this “argument” is to each their own. Willow might want some skirts are dresses or a new cosmetic that looks different. Atipleb might prefer to keep things gender neutral for them. Both of those things are ok.

It's not important to have gendered clothing in the game, because there is no instance when gender comes into play. It's not relevant to the game mechanics.

Of course I understand that players may want to dress a certain way. I'm just trying to point out that Sky kids don't need to express gender in their world.

Fire trial is harder when you're the only one in the trial and have to light all the candles yourself, we were shadowing two players before us and they lit everything already, still pretty hard, but teamwork helps! if you see someone lost in the trials while youre already done you can deep call and let them know you found the exit

Just did fire trial! (spoilers ofc if you haven’t done it yet)
Never thought ||I’d be jump scared in a game like sky SkyLOL ||
but I met another person, had the same hair and height as I did with a beta cape so it was a lot easier
||I only died about.. 5 times maybe? + the worm thingy coming out of nowhere and going BRRRRRRRR||
I still liked water trial better but they all were great!

I feel a fifth trial type thing would be super cool, like it incorporates all the challenges from water, earth, fire and air

Perhaps you’re in the water first and have to climb your way up to floating stones and go through the wind arrows but it’s all in the dark

Also I agree that the lore is a bit hard to understand, especially in the murals, it seems though that one person stole all the elements, gave them to other people and then took them to Eden

@lament plank They are, but I think that's a deliberate design choice. Apparently Eden was initially conceived as looking kind of like this; maybe they brought back that idea for the Trials.

Just finished the 4th trial by myself. I totally enjoyed myself. 🤣 just working out the timing of the floofy ether amoebas and the struggle of finding some of those candles that were outside the light range was crazy fun. Some of those candles were hard to find! I have to test it out more, but some of the floofs would have had me but I did a deep call and (maybe) it kept me lit....(?) who knows. I have to run it again to be sure.

When I was reliving the prophet of air's memories, the game didn't teleport me back to the statue and activate it as usual when I fell out of range while lighting the statue. Although the cutscene began again once I went back within range. Should I report it as a bug?

Also just wondering how you guys feel about this and what they can do to help make it clearer:

I feel right now the story telling could be improved. Almost everywhere they teased the new season, they emphasized how this will be about the lore of the story. I feel unfortunately that the murals are hard to see or the lore on them difficult to decipher. Deciphering isn't bad, but i think the lore becomes very open to interpretation at that point.

Which in my opinion makes the final cutscene after completing all the trials, feel bland. because i don't understand at the end of it all, how the trials fit into the murals or how the murals fit into this prophecy that the spirits are foretelling or for that matter, what this prophecy even was.

For instance, Someone mentioned how it looked like one person stole all the knowledge of the four trials. However, i couldn't tell that. I interpreted something completely different. When I interpreted it, I imagined the murals showing that the trials were helping people gain the ability to fly in the sky kingdom. But that may or may not have been the intention.

i don't really understand the lore / story of the entire season. it's a shame because i've been playing for quite a while now and tbh ion undersatnd any of it. all i know is i banged my head against the wall every time i accidentally fell on a lower panel on air trial rather than fell into oblivion, which made me have to restart from that panel.

also the fact you only get one winglight for completing a trial which takes literally 30 minutes makes me ||never ever ever ever ever enter eden|| again lul

Check test flight and make sure you are up to date. If you are, in isle where the clouds start on a short cliff, there should be an opening. Kinda lines up with the ramp on the right.

Also for the lore I don’t entirely get it either but I get that each trial is to help you learn a certain thing like air it said something like you honoured the wisdom of balance or something like that when you completed and the spirit out side was depicted teaching something and also shown using balance eg the handstand you got and it balancing on the floating rocks.

Edit: I’m not quiet sure where the teachings come into the lore of sky yet tho but I am most of the way through fire but I need to finish it since I had to sleep

@rain delta we have to keep in mind that beta is where we test the bases of the season concepts like playability and later TGC polish things up when its time to the live version. Im pretty sure their gonna add some subtitles with fuether lore explanation or something

We should be talking and discussing about components in the game that are unclear. If we are not vocal about them, it may not be clear at the end to TGC that this was unclear. I agree that the lore is confusing I have no idea what the lore is trying to tell us other than it seems previous skykids died over and over in these trials to accomplish something

It’s quite confusing how the murals appear, you know they mean something, but you can’t quite decipher them at all, they’re pretty to look at but that’s about it for me

Hopefully they make things more clear, id love to see what they really mean by all this

@novel aspen i personally LOVE the trials too!! They gave me Zelda Botw DLC vibes with the "no cape or spells or cosmetics" test. And i believe is incredibly refreshing to put challenging tasks to this game since i think i speak for everyone when i say that we want challenge

Btw what trial did y'all enjoyed a lot? Personally the fire trial was amazing it has adrenaline, mistery, it is challenging even tho they do need to polish it when it comes to overall aesthetic and playability (ways to avoid the dark creatures more efficiently)

Fire trial: look up slightly when you light the little candles. You can often see where the next one will be. Make sure your flame is up all the way before going to the next candle. I did it with 20% brightness, so it's still very possible to do without eye strain. But as I've heard, brightness does help stickerHeart

For those asking on tips for fire trial, I found standing right on top of the candles (like, burning your skykids butt) helped my light to not go out completely when the krill farts came. You need your fire to be to the max already when standing on it if the creature is coming though, so it's better to stop at the candle you're already at than trying to reach the next and risk dying. Some people say the faint emote can help avoid the creatures but it didn't work for me. Also, always have your candle out to light more area and move the camera so it's on top of you (bird's eye view), you can often spot the next candle

two tips after brute forcing the whole area in trial of fire in one hour,

for avoiding the balls of smoke, keeping your candle out or not does not matter, the only thing that matters is if you are standing in proximity to a light source(it has to be very close)
the direction of the candle stream is usually dependent on the previous direction you took to get to the current one, it changes when you are at/near the edge of the platform or wall where the next candle is in an arbitrary direction(you can usually tell when you are in such position)

You can also do long calls to help find what is around you. There are a couple of occasions where the check point torch is hidden just outside the range of light- doing a long call can help locate it in that instance. Also helps with walls and the edge.

I do believe that maybe give the dark creatures from the fire trial more structure would be nice since we have to keep in mind that screen resolutions and gamma even contrast can be a struggle (not to mention the different firmawares on iOS and Android) personally i dont have many issues since the resolution i have on my device is pretty good but, you know a more accesible visual output for the creatures would be nice (i gave the feedback already btw)

Enchantment also had many changes before hitting live.

@strong gazelle check #beta-faq and sign up for a beta invites ping role for the next invite wave. Access gets wiped before each new season so it'll be a few months

@random gull the changes on enchantment were more drastic i remember since that season had a lot of plot weight as well and TGC polished the storytelling a lot they add more readable and more comprehensive hieroglyphs on the ark

@remote sluice haha i would say that going with a friend is going to make the trial a lil more easy (and less intimidating since the trial is spooky) but a solo trial run is AMAZING

When you test the crab call that’s supposed to knock them all over but it only makes the crabs ALL ANGRY at you and you get hit 9374638 times 👁️👄👁️

@stuck urchin did you test it in the crab cave in sanctuary? Calling just makes them maaaaaaaaad 😂😂😂
