@velvet palm Seraph's answer bears repeating: when you submit a bug report, there is no guarantee of any of the following:
- that it is actually a bug
- that it will be evaluated immediately
- that it will make a priority list for a very busy, very small dev crew
- that it will be worked on quickly along with all the other stuff that's being done
- that a fix will pass QA and make it into a build
- that all dependencies in a targeted build will be met quickly and be released
Software development is very often a slow process, and is never as simple as any of us would like.

@heady tangle you need to click the link sent in #beta-signup-info when the invite comes out. it'll take you to a webpage that confirms you want to be a tester. click become a tester or whatever that button said (it was a while ago when i last clicked it ,) and then bam. you're a tester. then go download the beta from play store/google games. make sure you're on the right account. (i really hope google doesn't have any problems this time) sorry for the wait, slowmode lol.

beta is essentially live but buggier. it's pretty lonely, as compared to live beta has a lot less people. sometimes, it's even hard to open a 2 player door.
go sleep, prioritize health over beta. beta/sky in general is just a game. there will be multiple waves.

I just want to say, last time I waited for a beta wave I missed sleep waiting for it and I didn’t even accept an invite. Even though I missed that invite I joined invite later on. So I am only trying to say that you should not miss sleep over beta invites because there still will be other invites you can join. Hope this helps

if you are on ios, you will need testflight beforehand because the invite will ask you to open in testflight. on android you don't need any different apps. just after you accept being a tester download from playstore/google games

the answer is we don't know.
they won't tell us to prevent more camping and more chaos. if they told us, the invites would fill up faster because people would be waiting for the invite to pop up. then more people would get mad/upset that they didn't get in.
and make sure you prioritize your health over beta. it's not the end of the world if you don't get in beta. your real life needs are more important than an invite to a buggy version of a game.

As a beta tester I can say... once I'd finished testing the season there wasn't much to do . Finding bugs is part of the job. But if I'm honest. Beta feels less broken than live.

Have you tried Selenium, Ktjn? works wonders when needing to do repetitive work. Just create a css script (or poke dev to whip one up for you) and boop, done. (well, have to wait for your PC to do the inhuman repetition for you, but essentially done on your end)

A tip for beta hopefuls: when it comes to bug reports... I have a document ready to copy paste info skybot asks me my phone infoo, andrid version, what the latest version/build is etc. For longer reports I check back on what skybot asks and type it out before hand. I’ve had instances where my response time went over 10min and skybot said “welp 10min elapsed I’m closing this convo”
For most sections the word limit is like 800. Additional comments is 500

EDIT: please note the items are only free to test in beta, not connected to live, and you cannot be guaranteed that you won‘t lose them in progress wipes.

If you're an iOS user, make sure you have downloaded the app testflight ahead of time.

Make sure your notifications are on
Ktjn will ping the role whenever a beta invite wave is open and send out links for both android and ios in the #beta-signup-info channel. the number of spots are limited for each wave, so you'll need to click fast (and open the link on the device that you're trying to download beta on)
Nobody knows for sure when the next wave will be, so the best you can do is wait for the ping
If you're downloading it on iOS (when the wave is open), copy and paste the link into safari, not the discord browser.
Most importantly, missing out on beta isn't the end of the world, you'll always get another chance next season

Players dont want to lose the invite links because its not easy to catch it up. they are thinking, “if I go asleep, I will missed the beta link” nothings new. They really dont want to wait another 3months again because of this.. and easy to say please wait and be patience☹️😢

There are millions of players in Sky, and only a few thousand slots in beta. There will always be people that can't make it, and that is why access is wiped before every wave now to keep it fair

There are thousands of fan-based Sky communities out there, and tens of thousands of private groups you can join and hang out with friends waiting for invites and being excited together. This chat has slowmode for a reason, and right now is a place to answer some questions about the beta or the invite waves while they are happening, as well as prevent spam. For the time being, it is not the best place to chat and express your discontent. The channel will return to a discussion channel soon enough when the invites are over, whenever that is

I've been in beta almost a year ... it's very difficult to keep two accounts ..... now with these changes it will be even more difficult to keep a commitment it's 2am maybe someone will have to work

Before previous testers had their access removed though, no new testers could even have the chance to join the beta. This way everyone gets the same chance, and you can always retry for a slot every season testing

I will say for the people who were already in beta, for sanctuary, how did you guys get in? As far I can tell, the links filled up within 5 minutes... so you must have been silently lurking or camping... I think it’s not possible to get in otherwise :(

I would say it’s a lot of good timing. For me, I didn’t camp, I just opened discord and there were invites. Sometimes I’d hear the ping, but the invites would be gone.

I had notifs on and was doing other stuff during last invite waves. I got pings and was able to get the invite links before they filled.

It’s very possible to get in. You don’t need to stress so much about it! Just make sure you have the role for pings and you should be all set.

The harsh reality is that it is literally impossible for us at TGC to accommodate every player that wishes to be a part of beta. There are tens of millions of players and, for iOS, less than 10,000 beta slots. There will always be people who miss out and don't get in and be disappointed.
That being said, at the end of the day, it's a video game, it's not worth getting angry about, losing sleep, hurting yourself, and risking your health for.
Things on beta aren't that glamorous, it's broken, frustrating and genuinely hard to maintain playing two versions of the same game. of the 10-20 thousand people that get in during an invite wave, maybe 0.03% of those players actually stick around after the first week.

**-**i was on discord, answering questions and stuff when the link popped up. it doesn't fill up too fast, only when there are a lot of people racing in to get a beta slot. just have pings on or chill on discord while doing something else.

discord roles don't have an effect on beta eligibility, it's just for notifications.

genuinely hard to maintain playing two versions of the same game hit me for sure. definitely do not do a full candle run in both on the same day I only grab candles in beta when I wanna upgrade friends. beta is for testing, live is for cosmetics

Ktjin, I get that, but I think it’s the same as people standing in line for a concert, or people getting excited about a new movie in town... it’s a weird passion for something that you care about a lot...
Might have different underlying reasons, not all of them genuine or as honest as wanting to test and find all bugs, but it is still passion... and while it may be “just a video game” for some, it may mean a lot more to others... And I respect that people can have random passions like that

ende I understand being excited but by that logic, what’s happening in the channel currently is that you bought a ticket for a concert on ...say 9/20. But you arrived on 9/8 and keep asking the staff when does the concert starts.

Trust me, I get it. My entire adult life has been devoted to video games...for a long time as a hobby until I joined the industry. I get the hype, I get wrapping your entire being and sense of happiness and self worth around a game, the studio who made it, and the people that make up the community. I speak from experience, it's still just a game, and not worth risking your health for. Save that energy for your friends and loved ones, not for Beta testing.

@turbid heart I think it’s more like waiting for a limited time showing of something, you’re standing I]in line, the anticipation is there and you honestly don’t know who in line is going to get in. People are going to keep asking the question “do you think they’ll take more people?” Which I think in this case is akin to asking “when are they coming?” Whenever I read these I don’t think all of them are demanding the exact time, more or less like when you’re standing and you’re wondering “omg when are they going to open up the theater?” It’s kind of like that XD haha
