The Lantern just glows. It isn’t the most useful thing but at times it can be useful. Like the umbrella, it’s not that useful but not that useless
@potent hemlock Hmm, my problem is that just using the default candle is better since it can burn darkness and still glows even if softly. The umbrella at least has a unique niche in forest but this lantern is already overshadowed in lighting power by the default candle and in brightness by the firework spell and staff.

this is the current functionality due to some game engine constraints. It's not that we don't want this functionality, it's just not possible right now. The lantern shares rigging/logic with the Umbrella, which suffers from the same issue. It's not an easy fix, but the team is working on it. We wanted to be transparent on the Lantern's features ahead of time.
