shepherd is being beta tested. it's just an indication to new players that you know what you're doing and are willing to help them out. Shepherds see a little heart symbol over new players heads so we know they are new. new players see a fancy heart symbol over shepherds heads so they know they can ask for guidance (I'm a shepherd so I get to see moth symbol

Sorry, a bit late to this topic.
The shepard system has been in the game for months. It doesn't look like its going into live for a while.... if ever. Although, I'd be happy with this system in live if it's ever worked on more.
Sidenote: from what I've seen, those who actively help other players (in what way? 
no one knows....) will have their meter filled. Some players don't really want to interact with moths all the time, so they don't have their meter filled. Sometimes it goes down too.

•the reason for the 15 minute slowmode is because the invite wave could come any time (no one knows when it happens), and the chat usually blows up. so if they turned it off, and the wave comes, imagine the actual chaos that happens.
•i'm not sure how many players can be in beta, but there's around 3k right now.
•it is possible to get into office in beta.
•if you still have access, the beta will kick you out unless you go in an invite wave after the time ends.
•you can use the same gmail, because beta and live are 2 different apps and have will create 2 different accounts with it.

Google issues can take anywhere between a few hours, 24 hours or a few days to be fixed. Please be patient

Unless we specifically come out and say X is changing, it's probably a bug. From there I can flag it up to the design team and find out.

•beta on android is out, you just have to wait for the invite link. if you can't find it in google play, go to google play games. if you can't see it, wait. google is slow. it can take days to get it to work. (i think) just make sure you're actually a tester by the link in #beta-faq

•i believe shepherds help players. i'm unsure.
•there will be more waves. they would announce it if they were done. the reason why there isn't one yet is because we're letting ktjn and others rest after yesterday/today. there will probably be more today, but we don't know when.

I posted a photo of the difference between the shepherd vs new player icons. We don't know exactly what triggers the shepherd badge. A theory is that it depends on how helpful you are towards others. But there is no obligation if you have one. (I personally don't care for the badge, as it can become more of a status symbol for some players and there is the obvious risk of people trolling new players).

Alright, so I’ve found an exploit (bug?) now, and I’ve sent the beta feedback, but I’m positive I’m not the first to discover it. The AP pre-order doesn’t go away upon purchase, therefore allowing an infinite usage - meaning infinite seasonal candles. Of course, this is beta only, but beta is still Sky, and there’s no fun in finishing a season on the first day.

So my point was, people can buy the pass for unlimited time, getting that 20 seasonal candles each time how many they want. Yes the season isn't released but the seasonal candles will convert into normal candles, I cant do it as I get the "thank you for purchase" message....but my friends can. A good scan through the beta version each day to test for bugs and make sure future updates are fun and secure... yes we can enjoy the account but its not about who gets all the 'spoilers' first♡

i have a questioon. srry if im repeating buut, when i clicked the link to install the beta, i signed in with a email that is not my Apple ID. But when i installed TestFight i signed in with my Apple ID. Now i have the app Sky Beta and is running perfectly but when i open TestFligh i dont see any evidence that says that iam a tester, does that mean that i have the Beta temporary until the invites are gone or i made it to the Sky Beta?

That’s odd, the flying race spirits vanish upon entering the next area. I haven’t been able to collect the bow emote nor the backflip emote due to what I assume is a bug. I’ve restarted the app a few times too, nothing’s changed.
ETA - I’ve forwarded it to the devs through beta feedback, I’m just worried I’ll have to save those spirits for last, which sucks since I use bow a lot.

Google issues can take anywhere between a few hours, 24 hours or a few days to be fixed. Please be patient
If you want to check if you're a tester or not, on android just click the link at the very bottom of #beta-faq and it should tell you if you are a tester. on iOS, it will just show up on Testflight if you're a tester

There will definitely be an invite wave tomorrow, but please remember that the devs still have work, and people are reportung new bugs. So please, remember that the TGC staff consist of actual, living people, and they have needs too.
Nobody knows when next invite waves are, if you wanna ensure you recieve it, give yourself the beta member role and turn the notifications on.
By the way: beta and live are two separate apps, no connection between them, and nothing will transfer

I don't think it's intentional for optimization purpose since only certain types of objects and only in specific places do those objects disappear at certain distances. What do you guys think? Sorry if this is an irrelevant question but does anyone know if the updated Ark is eventually going to be in beta, because as of now there's no means to do that season in beta (since its almost ended) unless thats a glitch on my end, and the Ark is ded and dried up vs live

I had the same issue, @sharp brook. Instead of copying the link, send it directly to the person. When the menu pops up in-game for the sharing options, click the discord icon (if you have them in discord). Otherwise, copying the link and pasting it won’t work. Make sure to report it!

It's not uncommon, I've seen it in other games. It's the nature of games and beta and unstoppable hype trains, so I don't fault anyone personally. It takes a special kind of mindset to play two versions of the same game twice, especially knowing the beta can be wiped at any time and all the intrinsic value of that progress lost. It's emotionally draining so it takes a certain kind of diligence to not get attached to beta (my advice is take screenshots and relish the memories) and develop a certain kind of entitlement to beta, despite our efforts as devs to remind people that it's voluntary and comes with no guarantees or promises.

Because we use anonymous public links, we are unable to track who clicks and whether they're an active tester. Even if we essentially interviewed and vetted testers, the links would get shared elsewhere and still fill up with people circumventing the process. It's part of why we try to isolate beta chatter to this corner of discord and even I get pings from other fan servers i'm in of people copying and sharing the links externally. There is never a really good process, especially when it's largely just me handling it by myself on top of all the other daily responsibilities I have. For a tiny indie team like ours, it's just not feasible to have an incredibly involved process. Which is why we opt for the first come, first served public link because it removes any bias on our end.
The current beta build is near being a release candidate, so you may not find any major unknown bugs right now. Once the new season is ready to test, there will be lots to dig around for.

You can copy message link by clicking on the three ... to the right of a message and selecting Copy Message Link and paste it into your bug report. Since the server has so many nitro boosts, the file size limit inside the server is much larger than the DMs from skybot.

From what i know , when you click the link to become tester , if you already include as tester, the page will be have a word like "welcome to testing progran" and there was a link to the google play (link to the beta sky in google play)

Please don’t get into beta if you’re willing to play like you play on the live version. You're not making it more difficult for anyone by just enjoying the experience. Sometimes playing normally is also the only way to discover that something isn't working as intended.

FWIW: when you are in beta, just play like you normally would unless there is a patch with specific new features you are asked to test. If you encounter bugs, it’s great if you report them, but tbh most of the present ones have already been found and reported. There probably won’t be any significantly new things to discover until new content is released. Please don’t shame others for wanting to just enjoy the beta experience. Playing normally gives TGC plenty of information also.

@minor saffron You can because your beta membership is tied to your Apple ID (if you are iOS user) or Google account (if you are on Android), and not to your device. You should link your Sky account to Google account or something to recover the beta progress in the future

We won’t know when the next wave is. Waiting around won’t make it come any faster. Just make sure you have the beta invites roles and you’re set for when it comes if it does
(Also make sure you’ve allowed discord notifications in device settings too!)

@south bloom Nearly my 3rd time saying this, Ktjn have worked over 16 hours for the invites yesterday and the staff has a life, theyre a human too who needs to eat, sleep and rest. So please be patient. The staff is trying to be fair for all timezones with the invites.
