The date in the patch notes is for the season start date. it has no bearing on android release date. that is a separate thing and will be communicated broadly on all channels/platforms when we are ready to announce the android date. We haven't published a timetable of the Visiting Spirits. At this time Visiting Spirits are based on past seasons and their coinciding spirit shops are not exact copies of their original spirit shops. Things are subject to change as we iterate on this feature. I am not confirming or denying anything is guaranteed to always happen or never happen. I cannot emphasize enough things are subject to change to suit the needs of the playerbase and our design goals.
This is why we ask for feedback and don't give hard and fast answers because something may change 5 minutes from now. I provide answers to the best of my ability with the information given to me at that exact moment in time. It may be wrong in 5 minutes, 5 hours, 5 days.

Seasonal spirits aren't on a staggered release schedule this season.
The in-game text is still from last season on beta while we wait for localization to come back which i think is the source of the confusion, and why I made mention in #beta-announcements about the in-game text being incorrect, and also why the patch notes don't mention a staggered release.
Switching up the format of the season helps keep things from going stale, we may try the staggered schedule again in the future and will communicate ahead of time.

Some of what I said was due to things other people pointed out, but I tried to tie it up neatly. I don’t really have a dog in that fight so to speak. My completionist tendencies are there but I can override them pretty well. There’s also no point in spending time/money on cosmetics to use in a community whose timbre changes for the worse, you know?
It also strikes me that when you make a game with this much philosophy and thought behind its core premises, you self select for a bunch of hardcore players for whom those premises resonate. And then, those people realize “holy moly I’ve found my tribe.” I have no idea if TGC intended from the get-go to create a game that essentially self-selects into a surprisingly harmonious social app, but that is definitely one of the things that is developing, especially in the home spaces. I’d be curious to know if that was a desired outcome.

Ok so idek if anyone’s tried yet but I noticed after the update, if you pass through the first krill room you get caught in two cutscenes. One is the usual annoying cutscene that supposedly pans to where the krill is supposed to pass by you. And the new one (that I got caught in) was when I was seen by the krill for the quest. The camera pans to the krill spotting me and legit for the few seconds it’s locking on to me I cant get out of this cut scene and the second after the camera pans back to me, the krill attacks me. Needless to say I got yeeted but what was most upsetting was I’m pretty sure I lost an ungodly amount fo stars???? Like I’m pretty sure I was at 60 or something, close to max since I bought 4buffs and was gonna eden soon. And after getting krilled I had 53... so I lost 7-12 stars from that one attack?? I’ve never seen that second cutscene before and it makes me wonder is this TGC responding to suggestions of making a cutscene that shows the krill more evidently being bad ? But if that were the case why do you need two cutscenes like fhat? Terrible experience

@vapid briar sorry for tagging you, but I saw the convo about the krill and the camera above. The camera swerve in the middle of the quest for the stance in that area has always been like that, since early beta days. It's been a pet peeve of mine that I have given feedback on many times, but perhaps it was never deemed important/annoying enough to fix. It happens on the (3rd?) node where you are on a little mound by a broken wall. Often the camera will swoop back to show the entrance, because (I think?) in old beta the krill path was much more set than it is now and it always used to be there when you got that far with the spirit quest.

The camera has always been panning like that, particularly at the 3rd node of the spirit path. I think the reason it’s still there might have to do with directing the player to alert them that the krill is roaming again after he attacks the manta. It is after all the first area where you encounter the krill so the panning is most likely a visual clarity [for when doing that particular spirit].

Yes, that's what I was saying. But the thing is that the krill itself had been updated and now moves more freely in that area, which in turn means that it isn't always in the spot that the camera points at and that in turn makes it even more "dangerous" for the player. Didn't they decide to remove that camera panning feature, though? I swear I saw it in the patch notes.

I feel like volumetric lighting (GI) has been somehow toned down/tweaked/removed from all levels. Areas in the shadow are darker now. Isle has lost its purple irradiance in some places.
Dark areas in Valley look greener/ a little creepier now.

I was in beta wasteland today and...
I’m on a device that already has problems with displaying low level lighting..
I thought it was just my imagination, but battleground did seem darker (pitch black for the most part..)
I had more trouble locating the first darkplant when you enter that map (and the ones at the end too..)
The seasonal cave in ice rink was a BLACK VOID except for the direct vicinity of the light sources, I though that was just intentional.
I do like the general lighting in Valley more. Feels more like ice and snow, less like sand.
I just resorted to classic-inverted colors for wasteland.
It’s my nightvision goggles...
Otherwise I just get completely disoriented.
I guess I will need my goggles more in the future..
