the main focus of the season (which would be nice for everyone to be able to get) is the final reward
if you don't get the pass you wouldn't get the extra stuff... but still be able to get the main item focus of the season

Don’t think “just some extra stuff” is enough of a USP to get people to buy a pass. Which is exactly what TGC needs us to do if they are to stay afloat. I’d honestly feel pretty cheated if I payed all that money for a pass and people who didn’t would get the same ultimate reward.

We heard the feedback on the completion rate from last season and have adjusted candle costs for this season to be a little more forgiving.
There is a reason that we added the seasonal hearts. I'm not at liberty to spell out every single design choice, but it's something that we're experimenting with and if you have thoughts and feedback on it, please consider taking the time to put that feedback in #beta-feedback. I take that player input and present it to the devs so they can make adjustments. That's why we have beta is so we can try new things and see how a small slice of the community feels about it so we can make adjustments before releasing it to the live game.

6 season hearts, collected over 42 days, I don't think the effort equals to that of getting 6 regular hearts. The 1:1 conversion does not seem to be right. And I agree, I liked that the ultimate reward got unlocked free once everything otherwise got collected in the previous season. I don't see the point of seasonal hearts as they are at the moment. I think they are adding unnecessary complexity to the game.

I don't understand why a player would not use the seasonal hearts as currency to obtain something that's only available in season? I really don't get the point of collecting season hearts tbh. The only temptation I'd see if the conversion rate would be e.g. 4:1 as some players may be needing those regular hearts to unlock elder hair for example. The currently proposed 1:1 conversion rate is not fair imo as the effort for season heart is much greater than for regular heart.

Seasonal hearts as currently proposed in game are redundant imo. I like HethrJarrod way of thinking, to give some reward to non-pass owners, seasonal hearts could play a role there. But if that be the case, pass holders would need even greater reward / sense of achievement other than a spell and cape? What about rewarding players who unlpcked the 2 ultimate rewards so far, with a really cool and useful item (there were some great suggestions here earlier on)? To also consider players who did not have the chance to obtain previous season ultimate rewards, they could do so in this season - those 2 will be included in this season's ultimate reward pack for pass-holders (after all it's the season of belonging = giving the chance to all players to be on the same level)? I am sure it will add value for everyone to pay for the pass? Just an idea.
