Even though it was annoying do you sometimes miss the added difficulty to the game. I feel like what we have is nothing compared to how hard eden and the general game was then

oh, the shy one in Forest was also particularly tricky, because instead of flying over the gap you had to walk the orb around the water (to the left), holding the orb and jumping from branches and stones.

I think most old beta testers will say they miss the old flying and Aviary

The major problem of the old flight system is that it was too OP, so they had to nerf it. In my opinion, they could’ve kept the old controls but changed it to the wedge system like it is now

Before holding would progressively use your energy, instead of “boosts”

The system now is a lot more leveled and gives people a greater sense of progression, but the controls lack a lot on touchscreen

When you think about it so many things changed 😄 it’s hard to explain

Though back then you couldn't lose stars to rain because stars didn't exist. The rain would disable your emotes one by one if you burned out and stood there, but that wasn't permanent. They'd come back once you warmed up.

I think the recharge platforms were okay for that left part of forest. But the rain doesn’t do much to hurt you (the next update should change that cause in beta I noticed it hurts faster) so there was no need to recharge that often

When you go oob there , you can light the candles and take it for a ride. The boat itself is invincible though

I'm sorry you're upset, but frankly I think you're taking this too personal. It was always meant to be a temporary testing environment that would be ended or reset multiple times. This was never meant to be a permanent home for people. And I was one of the very first testers as soon as the server was launched, so I understand that it sucks to lose all the progress and friendships you forged. But it was always meant to be temporary. If you reach out on the Testflight FB group, most of the old beta veterans are still quite active and you may be able to reconnect.

I have to say tgc is not doing very well in terms of business running, they might have never had such frequent connections with players, never had operating a net game that keeps updating its contents, it’s a growing company and Sky is truly a new challenge, there’re certainly going to have things disappointing you. It’s really hard to ask for completely “fair” here, although tgc is trying their best to do so, things keep changing and it will be hard to make any long-time commitment

Gosh, that just kinda makes me happy that I'm getting the Founders pack today.

To me, they're kinda like the Studio Ghibli of the gaming world.

Considering the timeline;

They wanted iOS
They wanted Mac
And android

They couldn't do android before iOS because iOS was a huge challenge just in general over the concept they had planned. Too demanding. So they scaled back.

Then it was ported over to Mac but there were challenges on the iOS platform before launch so people were put mainly on iOS to optimize and prepare for live release.

Then Android got to be the focus now that the main game on iOS was more or less "working" properly.

After they release Android version and have those going, they will continue Mac OS release, as that has been easy to port from iOS version.

The new version also supports controllers as it should, and we will see better controller usability when they start that.

But overall it seems most of the time has been spent trying to find the right scale for the game, versus the graphical demand.

Maybe they thought apple devices would get even more powerful than they were four years ago and only now are we seeing devices with full Xbox/ps3 power

They've been burning money trying to get it to work

Now if they would only put in cape designs into the beta...

In the beta version of Lightseekers, you could get a regular umbrella from one of the emotes in Forest, and a giant umbrella from one of the seasonal emotes. In live, I only see one umbrella available from the seasonal. Was the non-seasonal umbrella removed from the beta version and I just didn't notice? Or was that removed specifically for the live version?

Google play takes a little longer for new builds to come through for beta. It should be updated in a few hours. Unfortunately when iOS and Android are on different builds, cross play doesn’t work temporarily. Same happens between players on the same platform, but run different versions.

There is no “time left” in the beta, you can play it as long as you have access

Things you get in the beta stay with you (in the beta only) unless there’s a progress wipe- which can happen at any point

@bleak python TGC has two betas running, one for iOS and the other for Android. They are separate apps from the iOS live version used for testing bug fixes and new features.

It’s a standard software development practice to have a beta version to test with before releasing components into the live version.

I would hardly consider the live version to be anything even approaching a totally broken game. Bugs get prioritized for fixes, and not everything happens at once.

TGC can’t possibly fix every known bug before updates get pushed. They’re a small team working very hard on the game. The beta makes sure to catch most of the serious bugs, and others will be fixed with time

A nice big social area with lots of little areas to set up camp in your little friendship groups. Easy access to closets so you can grab what you want when you want. Ability to have more than 8 maximum capacity there too
