@wraith yacht Emulation often lets you tinker at the game behind the scenes, in much the same way Pokemon Go bans users who play the game on emulators or on “rooted” or jailbroken devices can spoof their physical location to cheat the game, so while there might be some innocent uses the damage that can be done by more unscrupulous peeps can easily outweigh that.
At least with Sky, itll be available on basically any platform you own eventually so there should be no need to resort to emulators until the end of the game’s life, at which point the rules will essentially be useless.

Eden has a totally different feel to it. I just downright hate GW and only do it because I have to. Eden, my heart races and it’s terrifying but in a good way. GW just scares me.

One of the big differences is that Sky is a developed as a console game instead of a pure "mobile game". There's only a handful of games what are on mobile platforms natively that play like console games
None of them are developed with the same mindset as traditional mobile games as a backing

It sadly won't just work, the app needs to enable the controller tag. Could be that they don't want users to use controllers for some (dumb) reason
Right now iPadOS and iOS 13 doesn't support controllers with Sky
It's even at version 13.1 right now for the first time in history in an unlaunched apple update, and it doesn't support it

Also I totally get how a developer can skim these discord threads and see their players just dismantle their work in a few sentences "The camera stickyness is really dumb who thought about this", and it's some guy who spent days making it as they wanted.
But in the end; If it's dumb- it's dumb.
