iPadOS is a derivative of iOS branching off with iOS 13 (dark mode update) last year. iOS and iPadOS are the exact same underneath their skin. The only difference is that iPadOS is a bit more capable than iOS.

So really it depends on how old your iPad is. If it looks the exact same as an iPhone, but bigger, it’s most likely running iOS 10-12. If it has widgets (older interactive or newer placable) on the left side of the screen then it’s iPadOS

I could go on about the differences between iPadOS and iOS, but essentially they’re the same system with a difference face.

journey isnt cross-platform, and you can only see 1 other people with you if you both enter the same area at the exact same moment. so its a limit of 2 people per area, and also unable to meet iOS users on Steam, Steam users on iOS, iOS users on Playstation, etc etc

The guardian reveal is honestly so much better than the krill reveal. The krill reveal gives you time to look at it and go, “oh ok that thing just turned red it’s bad red is bad”
Guardian though... that thing just comes up out of nowhere and yeets that poor scarf manta to oblivion before you even realise it’s gone

And let’s not get into the horrific noises it makes... the mechanical clinking of the guardian is so disturbing and off putting.

Flower, journey, and sky have these as danger levers or levels you can get hurt in In flower it is the only level you can get hurt.
In journey it is the first level with the guardian.
And in sky it is the level with both toxic water, an abundance of crabs, and krill.

Actually there’s a huge formula in all of their games!

1st level is a basic introduction, rather small level with not much.

2nd has further exploration, and is usually the first to integrate the multiplayer aspect (in Sky and Journey)

3rd level is REALLY expansive and has loads of areas to wander, generally carries secrets and in both Sky and Journey presents Mantas/Cloth Dolphins to save from Darkness/Guardian Armor!

4th level is the racing, fast paced and super energetic level thats very bright and fun.

5th level presents the first danger, and generally is the first sign that it’s not all sunshine and rainbows. Journey has a lead up, going through ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL areas, while Sky just hurls you in there

6th level is the breath of fresh air, a moment of peace and quiet after the chaos and fear of the fifth level. In both Sky and Journey, you travel up a large tower with reminiscence of precious levels which leads you up to the last, and seventh, level.

The 7th level is the final push, the greatest challenge, but it’s always rewarding and worth it every time. ||Your character or what you play as often will enter a state of ‘near death’, a moment where they are at the brink of nonexistence, before being brought back in a sudden, absolutely stunning and gorgeous moment of power in order to complete your mission.||

As someone who played Journey (then Flower) first, I can say I could tell what Sky was going to be like and easily knew what likely would have been next. However, TGC did a FANTASTIC job of shaking it up enough for it to be a new and exciting experience! I understood what was happening and still had moments where I was brought a new and wild concept.

the game is meant to repeat... in the first area, there should be an area off to the side where you can see what glyphs you're missing to get the white cape

I think that journey is available on steam as well as in different other game shops but I bought mine in media markt but i don't know if you have this type of stores at your country

You can get it on the PlayStation Network, or on a disc for PS3 or PS4 if you search around. Also the App Store for iOS, and Steam or Epic for PC.

I might be stepping into a minefield but here goes

I didn't find journey all that... Amazing...

Tbh, my expectations were like suuuper high. It was hyped up so much back in the day that i thought it would be some tracendental experience

But it just kinda eh. Not bad but nothing that made me want to replay it

On the other hand

I can totally see how tgc made sky a sucessor to journey

There are a lot of things that made sense in journey that were kinda finicked into sky

The most notable thing for me was the jumping, refering to the auto ledge stepping in journey and the tap jump button in sky

Its clear that they adapted the "auto jumping" in journey by making it on command when playing sky

Imo, the the mechanic doesn't work quite as well in sky but maybe im just bad at the controls

You can get the white cape in Journey by collecting every single Glyph in the game

And if you have all the glowing symbols (or glyphs) if you are in the first chapter (chapter select) you go to the middle portion of the map (where you can find 2 glyphs) and on the right side you can see white carpets sticking out a platform. if you walk through there, you transform into your white cloak.

Unfortunately sky is the only one that has a social system. You can see other players in Journey but that’s pretty much it. Since you have to pay for these games, if you’re looking for a social aspect like sky you might want to look else where. They are enjoyable games, but not social

Austin Wintory wasn’t an in-house composer (correct me if I’m wrong)
And yes Matt Nava also worked on Journey when he was in TGC, but he has moved on to a new chapter of his career and found Giant Squid to continue bringing great games for players.
Skybot is sending that message because, I think, talking about the title as if TGC involved in it is kind of disrespectful to Giant Squid and all the people that have contributed to it, as they’re the people who really deserve the attention.

If you're talking about the white robe, you need to collect every single Glyphs in the game! There should be a spot at the chapter selection where there are symbols lighten/unlighten. The one's which are bright are the Glyphs you collected, while the dark ones are the ones you haven't

Pretty sure there's a wiki on Safari/Google where you can check where all of them are, and no worries for the ping I don't mind!

But just for a heads-up, usually there are around 3-4 glyphs in each areas in the game

Mostly alone. When I used to play, I'd get stuck with pro players and end up travelling through oobs and doing flying tricks for hours. It's fun at first but it gets exhausting. When you're alone, you can do whatever you want.

personally i rarely ever play by myself. i always wait in the first area for another player, even if it takes a long time.
i think it can be better to experience things with someone else. and i find myself feeling very connected to the other person and i even kinda care for them in way, if that makes sense. plus traveling with someone else opens up many more opportunities, and it makes each journey unique and special

Friends, I just got myself a controller for my laptop and finally played Journey on my TV for the first time in a long time
