So I just helped them until the 2nd part which I was able to join em

For everyone worried about the crabs, something that I find helpful, instead of heading into the areas or staying in the areas where they are, walk a couple of steps away from them till they start trying to charge at you, at which point you need to run, keep doing this until you've led them away from the shards and you'll be able to safely burn everything without having to worry about losing light to them ❤️

We don't actually currently know, it could be every hour, and personally for the sake of sky kids who can't be on all day, I hope it is so that it makes it a little easier on them to complete the quest. And as for participating once, I would guess you can do more than once, but you only get the rewards once, but this could be wrong

You’ve got to place the props for them to act as a shield, and the crabs can actually destroy your props after hitting them. That only means that you’ll have to wait for prop to load before placing it again, but when a crab destroys it, it takes a lot longer to reload than normal.

ok so some thoughts on shard events while going solo

1. it is possible, it just takes a Long Long time to do so
2. getting knocked out by crabs can be avoided if you stir them away from the Darkness plants
3. while burning Darkness, you kinda have to play a matadora with them. make your camera view from the top to see surrounding crabs, then wait until the very last secobd to dodge them. the crabs take some time to recollect after charging so if there's only one crab after you, you have some short time to finish the Darkness you were burning.
4. try to stir the crabs so that there's only 1 max after you.
5. the Darkness doesnt come back or reset so you can take your time by going back to the butterflies in the Ark to recharge. that's actually the safest option. you'll "walk out" your crystals on the way.
6. the plants DO reset if someone joins your game/your shard event. i was halfway when two people joined my event. then we had to do it all over again, though with someone it was much faster.
7. you don't have to burn all the Darkness away, so it's best to leave the Darkness around the biggest shard to the very end. focus on the Darkness that's furthest from the center as it has fewer crabs around
