Regarding the devs being 'greedy,' in my opinion, they aren't. A lot of people are both angry and confused at the exchange option and I completely understand. However, we all should know at this point that the devs are doing everything they can to make this experience as best as possible. They simply made a mistake with the price range. After all, they're humans as well. We all should support the devs, give them time, and give constructive (not negative) feedback.

The ultimate items are essentially the physical manifestation of the entire season wrapped up into one cosmetic item. If you weren’t there to experience the season you shouldn’t be able to get the ultimate item. Rather a variant of it instead. Allow the ultimates to return but in different colour variations. A deer mask with silver antlers instead of gold. A blue flamed campfire instead of yellow. Just subtle differences that allow new players to enjoy old items but for veteran players to enjoy the authenticity of theirs

If you weren’t there to experience the season you shouldn’t be able to get the ultimate item. Rather a variant of it instead. Allow the ultimates to return but in different colour variations. A deer mask with silver antlers instead of gold. A blue flamed campfire instead of yellow. Just subtle differences that allow new players to enjoy old items but for veteran players to enjoy the authenticity of theirs

... I do miss old Isle though. It was gorgeous. I get why we have the modern one- it's lonely (to encourage connection later), and peaceful, and safe, and open. It's good to explore, but you won't become lost. It's a perfect tutorial space.

But darn was the old one pretty.

going about this logically, season pass worth $10 = pendant + ultimate + time spent grinding which gives you "pass-exclusive" cosmetics, right? if you think about it that way, the season pass is pretty cheap.

so the fairest, fairest way would be to refund $10 for all that. you give back your pendant, ultimate, time, and cosmetics. now if you want to buy your cosmetics again, you need to spend time to grind for normal candles to pay the travelling spirit.

so the question is if the time spent grinding for cosmetics during season is comparable to time spent grinding for travelling spirits. if you say yeah, they're the same, then 20 candles is definitely not worth $10 and it's a bad deal

For me I think of it this way: say you're playing an earlier season like rhythm. You really want one of the capes, and you need the adventure pass. So you spend 10 dollars, work to get the candles, and you get the cape. You can also get a bunch of other stuff with the season pass.

But what if you're a new player, and you see a traveling spirit from rhythm. You really want the cape, but you don't have a lot of candles. So you work your hardest, grinding for a couple days before it leaves, and you still don't have enough to get everything from the spirit. You end up spending 10 or 20 dollars to get enough candles to buy it, but you only get things from that one spirit vs an entire seasons worth
