I'm fully supportive of travelling spirits and prefer to have a choice and freedom that is available for everyone. I agree with M4x that this game and community about kindness, free spirit and sharing and that all the players, no matter, new or old, should have the ability to experience different items and things. Many players started late and some weren't even able to play because of the different platforms.

I like the choice, and some can use time, others money, some may use both. Is it a bad thing? Also the value of an asset is different for everyone, and for me, personally, time has possess much more of that, especially now. Those who paid for the pass enjoyed the entire season, all the items and played it first, experiencing the season as well, plus ultimate rewards. I think it is only fair for the new players (or the old ones who missed it) to catch up a bit, right?

I think that just ego speaking, desiring to have more than others and to have unique items, that's our human nature and thats understandable. But I also believe all of us here are better than that and after all we want the same - to share moments with one another and feel loved which is the great point of this game.

And frankly, with so many items and cosmetics available, we won't be all wearing the same stuff and there's more to come so we all will be unique and different, in our own way, and to have the ability freely express it, I think it's just great. I don't think that all of us would be wearing the same items and capes anyway.

Yeah, that was my point. To feel special - that's the ego, not you. I know it may sound upsetting, but to feel superior to anyone thats human ego speaking to us, making us feel better, because of something we possess, own, have etc. Which for me quite the opposite of this game. It's not your usual online game about hoarding uniuqe items and feel special because of that anyway. And if it is, then I'm at a wrong place I guess?

This game will be boring anyway, eventually, for everyone, especially if you play it daily. Im three months in and I already feel bored just collecting candles and I try to find different ways to play. It's okay, I believe. And for new players to become old ones to know they can get some items from the past is a great motivation to keep playing.

I'm also the one who purchased two friend packs passess already (previous season and pre-order for the upcoming one) and I feel super fine with people having all the items I already have. I'm actually quite happy about it because my switch friends can also enjoy the same capes and pants as me.

In a lighter sense, I feel it would be be better to categorize it as wanting to justify your spending. You're spending your money to pay for something you don't need.

I mean, I don't really consider it egotistical which was a bad way of categorizing anyways since the exchange is beneficial for both parties (company gets money, you get rewarded by gaining things you want - win win), and I don't think anyone's wanting to feel superior just by owning something others don't have - that's more so called elitism or something of that sense.

Perhaps a large part of it would be due to the company not really explicitly telling everyone that hey, season pass ain't gon be the only way to get those initially that caused a lot of the backlash (I mean, I'm not sure about this, but I didn't really see it anywhere in the game or season pass itself warning you that hey it will be free in the future, but it's understandable; no company would be that generous)

anyways, as a f2p player, I'm pretty happy with the cycle. It feels quite rewarding to know that all your grinding pays off - that's why I don't really care if prices are marked so high (it would be nice if they were higher in fact).

Also, I don't think paid players ever took in consideration of how much F2P players have to grind so there's also that.
Plus, I like debates that's all lol

I think every company has their own ways and sometimes it's not about transparency. Perhaps they haven't thought about it before and decided to do it along the way? Besides, lots of exclusive items in video games become regular items later on and I have seen that so many times that I'm no longer expecting it to be the other way. But with TGC it's just an assumption, I'm not accusing them of anything and just grateful to have all the opportunities they give to us.

I've played on the beta since 2018 and live since launch, I have health issues that require treatment and periods when I can't play anymore. When I was sick and struggled to play, I was amazed at how I could get a helping hand from a random player who would take me along with them. That inclusiveness is the true beauty of this game.
Holding hands in a game and feeling like someone is really taking you on a journey and helping you is not an easy sensation to "design" or replicate from real life to virtual. And the second thing I find priceless is just the visual beauty and togetherness.
After 2 years, I barely have any special items due to my personal health struggles and not being able to play a lot and farm candles. But I don't mind as I don't see the cosmetics and special items as being the ultimate experience of this game.
The ultimate experience is to feel happy while you play. To feel that someone you don't even know cared about you enough to show you around and show you where to go or which places are nice to experience. To feel innocent and enjoy the little things like when you were a child.
