I just logged onto sky after some inactivity after the season of lightseekers and I’m rather confused about the new seasonal candle and heart system

How do we use the seasonal candles and earn seasonal hearts?

I’m also having trouble finding the spirits - I’ve been through the areas so many times by now that the motivation to search every nook and cranny has dwindled

the seasonal hearts are bought at the end of each spirit

and theres only one spirit being released each week

rn theres one in prairie and one in isle

also many of the maps have new areas entirely

the seasonal candles are used the same way- to buy items from the seasonal spirits

One new child of light (star) in valley, two in vault's new area, four in forest's new area, and a shiny boi in Isle has been moved as a result of the season changes. There's also one unfortunate forest star that got walled off out of bounds, but is still there, if you can reach it

Anyway I helped a friend in sky get the new emote, all without chat

basically danced in front of them, they beeped a bunch, I pointed to Isle, they bowed and let me join them in Isle, and then we set off

Basically had to wait for someone to get vibe checked by a krill, then manually light them up instead of using deep call to revive them

You can try forest too, but it's surprisingly hard to do it on purpose

I can usually complete the quest easily by going through a level (e.g. today I went through Prairie). I lit candles with a bunch of people there (players on the same wax run route as me, people in the 8-player room thing) so they were 'unlocked' (i.e. not hidden). Then we all pretty much went to the last area of sky at the same time - another person sat down to go home, so I followed suit and went home as well. Then when we were both at home it registered as me 'recharging their light - this is because when we TP home our light is registered as 0 but the dial at home recharges it fully, so if you arrive there at the same time as someone else you will be contributing to recharging their light if that makes sense.

TLDR: wait at home for someone you know/have lit candles with to appear

also I noticed someone earlier at Home trying to light candles with people and then flying straight up into the air to get others to deplete their light. some players seemed confused about this but I helped them complete it (not sure if they were trying to teach me or if they needed it)

in order to keep the spirit

Should be (theoretically) a little easier in live. At least in the sense that you’re not likely to be alone. Just remember guys. If you do get spotted by the krill, move AWAY from the kids carrying the spirit. 👍

seasonal candles get converted into regular candles once the season is through!

additionally iirc every season is a one-run-and-done thing meaning if there's something you'd like to obtain, you should get it before you can't anymore!

@sinful trench each spirit will be released weekly on Mondays. The prairie and isle spirits have been released. Next Monday a new seasonal spirit will be available to complete, and you should be able to see which one by tapping the constellation (though… it’s glitchy and was wrong before). Vault seasonal hasn’t been released yet.

they should, but I wouldn't recommend doing that, because you could miss 75 or 90 (depending on whether or not you have the seasonal pass) seasonal candles, which means some spirits you won't be able to complete

Going in from the end of forest, up and to the right of the main entrance there’s a small tunnel that requires no spirits

Just like Wasteland
