Does anyone else turn their WiFi off repeatedly during Lightmending lanterns to try to force a single-player instance, because of how badly it impacts the light collecting in an already confusing and labyrinthine level design? I swear I just turned my WiFi off four times and I'm FINALLY alone in a lantern.

I love social activities and cooperative tasks like this, but unless TGC makes all the light appear at the spawn point instead of at the scattered, hard to see after they've been lit crystals, I don't want to do Lightmending with other players. >.<

The most foolproof way to get an unmergeable server is to wifi off when you've sat down, keep wifi off until you light 3 fragments, and then turn wifi back on

A great suggestion I've seen is to have all lit fragments that still have wax to collect be marked by the same blue sparkle icon that's in wave 1

The way the wax is collected currently is like that bc the devs have said they wanted to prevent players afking through the lightmending (which they get really easy wax for doing Nothing while the other active players have to search for shards all by themselves. This would further diminishes the cooperation between players)

After all there are 24 of shards in total when completed 😭 in such a relatively compact area

There is. It's an easy signal for players to slow down and collect less because there isn't any incentive to keep collecting till grey candle (which otherwise would've pushed players play more than 1.5 hour) (according to the blog spot) Though I can see how difficult it is once it's at its smallest. Probably the smallest should be slightly bigger

The visibility really depends on the environment really, lightmending has such weird lighting where even the smallest motes are practically invisible. In other realms, I can see them just fine (unless it's bugged lol)

Ngl i can understand the psychology behind the shrinking motes.
You'll never know the greath lengths player would do just to get ALL wax in realms. Before chevrons existed players were willing to spend 3 hours to exhaust all realms of wax 😭 so basically I feel as long as wax are easily visible, they definitely push themselves to get them no matter how slow it takes to fill a candle. Like monkey see monkey do(?)

I get 21 candles every day for going on two years now, regardless whether there's an event with 500~1000 bonus light, and that doesn't require getting every source of wax. But you certainly can't stop players from playing that way if they want to, and putting arbitrary roadblocks rather than just a hard concrete limit like turning all light off after a certain candle amount doesn't discourage those players. It makes them resentful of the system or the company.

I can't speak to TGC's philosophy and the various departments that have a hand in the decision-making process, but I don't imagine they want to breed dissatisfaction or resentment in their playerbase.

After all there had been years where there weren't any chevrons so basically you can get all wax but it took a long time and also it's much slower so many players would either afk in afk spots, or candle run all realms for 3 hours, thus reducing room for socialisation with friends (that's what they said in a blog once)

Compared to my recent play times, it generally takes me under 1.5 hour to spend all chevrons, and the extra time I had was to relax and socialise with friends for a bit xD like the carousel was a perfect activity to chill and passively collect wax

That's why i couldn't understand why players would resent the company for the chevron system when comparing to the old candle forging system before 2021 afaik

Players would be upset if there was a hard cap, of course. But because that decision was not made, is it not behoove of the system to not take further steps to try to discourage a certain behavior? It unfortunately conveys a position of indecisiveness, like there is an apprehension towards taking a hard line on a decision, while making strange little tweaks that make the "alternative playstyle" unnecessarily difficult.

If you want to discourage a certain behavior, you should put a hard limit on your system. If you want to be lax and allow that behavior to a degree, don't put more roadblocks other than the most rational one (exponential decay) which already exists.

Certainly there are a wide variety of people of every kind of demographic playing Sky, and my observation is based on how people interact with systems of control and their perception of the decision-making process behind said systems.

Hi there! If you've filled out the spirit to select which items you already have and which items you want to skip, and then made meter match the way it looks in game, then the number in the lower right should tell you how many days you still need to take that spirit on adventure to be able to skip those items. For example this one shows 5 days of hangouts to skip the blessings in the middle. Hope that makes sense. It's a complicated system.

It’s the progression bar on the left that also includes the progress from buying things.
The tiers are 4 days, 6 days, 8 days, then 10 days

For that image, if you have time you can just take that spirit with you for 6 days and spend nothing. Or if you don’t have time buy the blessing for 6 sc and it will unlock that tier

He's the main reason I'm far behind with friendship.

Every time I want to take him to increase our friendship, he just won't let me. I don't have all the time of day to play Sky because... work and life, so I sometimes only have one hour before reset left (Aka I wake up at 6AM and the reset is 9AM bc timezones)

I have to opt to using my phone as Hotspot bc my work's wifi hasn't worked in MONTHS and even tho my phone is strong, Sky for some reason is VERY slow with registering stuff such as even activating them dailies when I'm on my phone hotspot. It made me miss rewards even tho I spammed the daily claim button WAY before reset.

Then I miss ANOTHER DAY of friendship. Also I can't call him off before I'm out of time before the reset, even if I spent 10-30 minutes with them. And then the reset happens and I spent time for nothing.

IDK if this is a bug but just let us take spirits 2 hour before the reset. It's been stunting my friendship level.

Also when I DO manage to say him goodbye, he still sticks around and I can't interact with him.

I personally like the antigraviter, but it can be frustrating because of how strong effect is it and how it can catch you off guard when you try to reach something and you suddenly fly aaaall the way up

Ive enjoyed from the beggining, my main issue has been the devices balancing, the cooldown is really odd, because the first 3 dont seem to have any? I was never stopped from using the fragment finder or the light launchers, observation orbs are always there too.

But then the bells have a cooldown, so does the low gravity device, todays new device just turned off on me and i couldnt use it again? These being like this just motivate me to stick with the fragment finder

Probably since we're forced to use have the quest device, so they put a fragment finder in all quest maps as a little extra help

I have the feeling that just being on the season "lobby" as people appear and select their devices, you will get them reguardless if they go with you or not, im not sure, but it felt like an extreme coincidence having every device on my map today
