I understand your frustration, but the devs likely only included 2 options, because

1. It is easier to design and implement 2 options than 3, 4, or more.
2. A multiple-choice quiz is always close-ended. It is impossible for a quiz to include everyone’s thoughts as an option. But, an open-ended quiz would be impossible to implement in sky.
3. After all, each category in MBTI has 2 options: I/E? N/S? F/T? P/J? This leads to easier calculation of results
4. Having fewer choices is less confusing. While some people love having more options, some people get overwhelmed when presented with many choices!
5. Finally, it didn’t imply that things are black and white. In the same question, all humans have done/felt both A and B before; it is only a matter of which one we do more often or feel more comfortable with

I’m certain it is not the devs’ intention to teach kids the wrong values, and I’m sorry if you’ve had prior bad experiences with the MBTI test.

(Me too: my job application got rejected because ‘my type isn’t suitable for it’, even though your MBTI results really shouldn’t lock you into certain jobs and lock you outside other fields.)

I’m aware that MBTI is a pseudoscience and is not accurate; but it is undeniably the most popular personality test system in the world, with memorable 4-letter combinations that roughly represents who you are. A part of why the devs chose MBTI over something more scientific (say, Big Five) is likely because MBTI is very well-known and familiar to us, therefore it can resonate with players.

Plus, most of us understand that MBTI isn’t science, and we also do different kinds of personality quizzes purely for fun. And as long as most people find it fun, I don’t see the issue!

But, if you have feedback and you want your voice to be heard by the devs, please contact them directly via #🐛submit-bugs-and-feedback ! It is the best and most direct way to make yourself heard and get your point across.

Me personally, my issue is that we don’t get a ramp to express to which extent we agree, as well as the fact that there are only 12 questions.

But, I understand that they cut the number questions and options for purely practical reasons: this is a video game, after all. Games are meant to be simple and not too time-consuming. The main purpose playing games is to have fun, and it shouldn’t be taken too seriously.

If you’re looking for a more comprehensive understanding of yourself, you can do that elsewhere. Complex and scientific psychological evaluation is meant to be conducted in the offices of social workers and psychologists: and sky isn’t the right place for that.

My notes on the pool wax:

Gave me my first 8.75 candles or a bit over 1000 wax
Spawns 4 orbs every 8 seconds. In my experience took a couple hours to hit 1000 wax, so I’m not sure if the orbs are actually 1 wax each

Orbs disappear after 18 spawn cycles or 2.4 minutes. A full pool would be 72 orbs

Wax stopped spawning at least 12 times, and I did not find a pattern but I did rule some out:

• at least 3 of those times I definitely did not have a full pool, and I later intentionally had a full pool without wax stopping
• 3 didn’t have an empty pool, and I had an empty pool without wax stopping
• 3 definitely had no orbs that had stuck around for 18 cycles and disappeared, and I did this without wax stopping
• I was not AFK for any of these
• I witnessed at least one server merge that didn’t stop wax, though this doesn’t rule out server weirdness completely
• Maybe 5 of these stops were throughout the experiment, while the remaining ones were all near the very end, where I would get into the area, get maybe 8 orbs/2 cycles already spawned and maybe 1 more cycle before it stopped. Maybe these were not intended, and that’s why I got a bit over 1000 wax? It did eventually fully stop

Small tip: Open the shop or the emote menu and tap on the ? / more info. It prevents you from falling asleep Doesn't work good on switch tho since mine falls asleep about 10 minutes without interacting with it. And also putting the graphics down is basically necessary when on phone so it doesn't overheat AS MUCH. So afk is far from ideal but sometimes only thing possible for players with basically no time to play still wanting to get candles

WL from today’s manta memory was missing for me. I did Eden a week or so ago and so far there only were memories of jelly, krill, Elder. So it’s definitely a bug. I reported it in-game. Dawn was bugged as well: I am pretty sure I collected all 5 WL after my Eden run, but the map showed uncollected WL. After I returned to Dawn, 2 WL were uncollected again: one by the boat and the other before flying to temple. They were counted again and added to the totals.

I have found that if I transition to a different area or teleport before the text indication shows that the WL has registered that it may not count. I had this problem a lot with the first WL in Eden being so close to a door transition that I would collect and go straight through, only to find out that it didn't count.
