The Ice Skater quest today really got on my nerves.

First time I failed it, I was ported to the other lift area (leading to the stadium) and then I was "reset" twice while riding the correct lift gondola back up the race track...

I never liked this quest much because of the short time and teeny tiny margin for error (I'm a bit clumsy skating while on my phone compared to the switch) but today made me like it even less

I suggest you to TP from home with the QG to isle, meditate there to travel the seasonal area and first relive the spirits (it will be easier to find and enjoy). After that, you can start the first seasonal quest, by talking to the guide and meditating again.

Plants not burning during a Shard is usually caused by Server Merges, usually common for Black Shards, however I noticed recently in the 0.21.0 update, plants not burning for Red Shards is probably because there is someone with different Darkness Plant spots in the server, sometimes theirs will start burning while your plants won’t, then theirs will stop burning while yours will start to burn

pick up the daily quest, and use the tp function from the event guide at home to go to event area. once there, look for a light creature and free them. tap ! and continue from there

The correct plants are synced to the wrong ones,but not the other way around .

Christian have the correct variation. I got the wrong one. But he's burning the plants on his variation so the plants gets burnt on mine as well. But if I try to burn mine, it won't — since I'm not burning the plant that Christian is seeing. Although it doesn't matter which plant Christian burns for me... Yeah this doesn't make sense

Since the update, Shards are buggy on Switch, where:

• Darkness Plants won’t burn, and appear in different places

• Activity Fragments appear in different places

• The Shard Memory is different compared to Mobile and PlayStation EVEN after completing the Shattering Quests, but Switch can sometimes see the correct Memory

• The Shard Variation is different compared to Mobile and PlayStation, but Switch can sometimes see the correct Variation

It's a bit confusing because I do shard events with my friend and both times this week that I have gotten the Elder memory while she has gotten the Jellys memory both times.
Also, shard location has been incorrect for me all week. We both see our shards in different spots on the map. I'm assuming I'm the one with the wrong location since I see other skykids with her at the shard I don't see.
We both play on the switch.

Since update 0.21.0, shards have been misaligned on Switch in comparison to the other platforms. This does not affect all Switch players so far.

Listed as a known issue on May 31, 2023, with patch 0.21.5.

• Light Fragments in the Collection Activity are displaced

I've started just quitting when I'm at half wing for the flight there (the underwinds give more than enough updraft anyway) as I will then have some left by the time I inevitably shoot past the boat because of that third cursed cutscene

The hardest thing in this game is the cutscenes. Wish you could just turn them off once you finish eden at least once

Yeah, the wind in Sanctuary means it's pretty easy to glide the entire way without flapping, but it's no less annoying to get interrupted by the cutscenes and land in the water 😔

i can't remember off the top of my head but i think the manta is JUST far enough away that it can't charge us? i'm not a 100% sure but i can't recall seeing it at all.... maybe i am just blind

I can understand not wanting people to skip new things, but I don't need to get interrupted by the forest bells for the millionth time, or to get my camera yanked from me to show me a place I'm literally already intending to go to. The game already reminds you like every 5 seconds to honk for a little star to show you where your objective is, so the constant cutscenes/camera yanks only get annoying

There is a way to sort of... negate being left in the water by the boat scene. If you straight at the boat and are maybe 3-4 feet above it, flying straight at it at a slight downward angle, when the scene begins, you'll land in the boat. And by land, I mean crash your head into the back of it, but you'll be in it. When I play tonight, I'll try to get a screenshot of the proper angle of approach to land during the scene.

Cutscenes and tool tips. I really wish we could turn the tool tips off after going though Eden. I don't need to reveal the path forward anymore, I am Vibing.

I've been changing how I play to actively avoid getting scenes... For example, I no longer go under the tree in the Forest area, before the bridge/bells, because of the scene. I avoid lighting the bells in the same map, because of the scenes. If I'm alone in Village in Prairie, I skip past the bells to just fly up using the clouds.

Scenes, scenes everywhere, so many to skip!

The worst is even if you skip them, you might get put in a server with someone activating them (like the forest bells) which still makes it a problem

The amount of times I've been locked out of flying or lighting something because of those dumb bells is way too high to count

I've had that happen quite a few times, but it's not even the worst of it. Too many times, scenes (particularly the ones in Forest) have caused my character to let go of friends' hands, especially if I skip and they don't. Meaning everybody is now held up until we're done watching/skipping the scene and link back up. As the person in my group that's usually the "taxi", this is why I've taken to skipping as many scenes as I can. Unfortunately, some are still unavoidable yet break us up occasionally (ahem, Wasteland temple door/krill trap).

Haha, yeah, when you Uber often, you start learning how/where to avoid certain cutscenes triggers that disconnect hand holding. It's a bummer that it's an issue in the first place, alongside being forced to watch camera pans/scenes every time you play

Unfortunately, there are so many places where it's completely unavoidable. For example, there's no way I know of to CR Wasteland without breaking hand holding. Main entrance has whirlpool. Wind Path to Ark has the boat meditation circle.

Vault is the worst, though. Every floor, without using exploits, breaks hand holding...

Uugggh, GW cloud entrance and Vault elevator The bane of Uber existence. I don't mind it so much when I'm playing with a friend but I get anxious about strangers/acquaintances not paying enough attention to grab on again.

Yeah, I know the feeling all too well. I'm glad I haven't started ubering randoms, because I feel like it would get very annoying.

Can I ask … do you understand the 'soar' wing mode ? It takes only two or three flaps to get from the island to the boat and if a cutscene appears while you're soaring, you're still soaring at the end of it. Perhaps you might do better swimming to the boat, saving at least a couple of flaps to get into it.

Oh yes. I've been through Eden 15 times. I don't need to be told repeatedly what to do if I'm lost. Similarly, I don't need to be halted in the Hidden Forest every time someone activated a shrine or opened the temple doors. There are five different things that can do that and it's hella annoying. And if I press the button to skip a cutscene, and that cutscene is followed by three more, I think the game can confidently assume I want to skip them all.

when u click on the hand thing, I suggest to tap on the right button so it swims faster towards the 'garbage'

it helps with clearing it quickly

also if you can't find the items, you can click on the progression chart on the left, you'll let out a call and it'll indicate where the leftover 'garbage' are

I don't think it is, since there's no button mapping for that Although you can still honk to see a blue appear on trash you haven't picked up yet!
(That works for spirit memory reliving, too. The only case I can think of where honking doesn't work is for the Assembly multiplayer quests - only tapping the progression circle makes the uncollected fragments call back.)

But… if you only need one piece to complete the quest, I didn’t understand if the pickup items are wax, or obstacles, or buy you extra survival time out of the mask sphere. Doesn’t really matter if quest complete already, but might try again later when less chaotic
