it's just so much worse than previous cosmetics, im shocked

color matching is bad, models have weird glowing texture to them that feels weird on literally almost grey cosmetics
it feels as if they couldnt decide how bright or grey the season should be and just went with a random mix that literally doesnt work
even spirit's own outfits barely match together, just what is that
not even talking about how those cosmetics barely match any other existing cosmetic in the game, just by color theory
and the cosmetics, especially pants look literally unfinished and crappy

in the end of the day it's just my opinion, but i stand by it. usually im open for different opinions but in this case im just. no. this is incredibly bad

the good cosmetics of the season are hairstyles, but all of them are behind AP.
and I have the pass so the reason why I'm mad about it is NOT because I can't get these hairstyles

for other spirits i literally cant say they're refugees of a war
i also come from a place where war is discussed quite a lot, so I stand by this opinion as well. to reflect a bad event a piece of clothing doesn't have to be designed bad, considering that we're talking about a game, and it's a project that was designed by people

it's bad in a way it's a terrible design. the design can look great and still show the reflection of war
i don't wish to discuss this topic further, so this is the last thing ill say about remembrance items. for now

tgc speedrunning burnout honestly. a multi-hour-a-day commitment to the game is just excessive expectation. when collecting cosmetics is the only thing to do then of course people are gonna grind themselves to burnout instead of socializing. players have been asking for social activities for years and afk wax spots just wasn't the solution they thought it'd be

as much as I hate the shards because of the unnecessary flashing they added to the game, the shards are so wildly popular because it's an activity. a social activity. and has the option of not requiring other players to start or complete it. sky NEEDS more social activities like this. preferably ones that don't aggressively encourage people to deep call spam so I can participate safely

I bet if they lowered candle costs of things and added more social activities people would be overall more satisfied and would socialize more instead of grinding like tgc wants

i don't think the remembrance cosmetics were horrible, especially the brewer's pants
plus the whole season was focused on the props, and i gotta say they delivered
if were talking about actual horrible cosmetics, the is definitely the worst. they didn't even tried with it smh
when it made it to live looking like that, that's when i lost hope with tgc. it's been like what, a year? and it's still the worst cosmetic to exist imo and the fact that it's even an ult plus a unique cosmetic is just so

rix I can say with confidence the live version is an improvement from beta version of that mask. it may not have made it to an appealing look but it definitely did improve on the original look I suspect game engine constraints is why it looks so blah now

I do feel like part of their motivation for keeping candle prices high is to encourage IAPs but it's really not effective. A lot of people who don't want to buy candles aren't going to buy candles regardless. A lot of them can't. Keeping IAPs as a thing just for separate items (season passes, etc) and letting the candle economy be independent from them is the way to go, i think.

so making them look like regular items is unfair to players who paid&played
but it is also unfair for f2p players, since they are not able to get the items at all even if they play every day

my guess is that some adjustments to the rules to make repeats far less likely until more non-repeats have come on top of them coming more frequently. which won't help the "everything is too fast and too expensive" issue in that scenario

I think it would be like all the ts would come back like a traveling season. and each traveling season has their own place where a bunch of spirits are. You can unlock what you want within a certain time period like a week before a break happens and the next traveling season gets randomized. No one can get everything in one go, but at least they can get everything from one spirit each time, and they can choose what they want to unlock.

i have both because my friends were nice enough to give me some candle packs and that's literally the only way i could've gotten it across the whole week would give me enough time to decide, or even get all of it including things i didn't want but i'm gonna get it anyway bc it's a limited item (but i'm not as pressured to because they'll return sooner)

Ah, I was wondering if I should’ve clarified (or if I’m not using the word correctly)— in general, players seem to be completing the base game much faster than TGC thought they would, not nec’ly bc they’re trying to set speed records to Eden but because they’re playing the game more… intensively? than TGC expected

I think its often minors or people who dont have the knowledge of economic would questions how the system works and why its becoming more unreasonable. But to those who have the knowledges, these questions were mostly answered i guess. But publishing the post will make things transparent and clear among the players

in general, no solution would satisfy both parties or every single player, but rather compromising them and in hope that most players' playstyles will fit the changes (a solution minimising the unfits to satisfy most but not all)

joking or not, this point is super valid to consider players that collect and save a lot of candles with the purpose to relax later in game, no matter what traveling spirit or event comes, after which introducing a new event currency would mean their effort in the past (to feel less pressured in the future) become counterproductive -as events would now require you to be active during its timeframe.

Only after 2 and a half years of playing I learned to let things go and not buy igc or iap items unless I will use them for sure.
I also think people have a tendency prioritising cosmetics because without a likeble set outfit you feel naked, blank and lose interest to keep playing like a blank model. I have enough cosmetics and developed my own "sets" I wear when I play so I don't feel the pressure to buy everything new unless I absolutely like it. And I'm now close to having 1k candles too. I also would point out this depends on person with how they like to collect their cosmetics but a lot of my friends already dropped sky after achieving some goals and having no interest in wasting time to collect more things, if they come to play for 20 minutes - they are comfortable in whatever cosmetics they already have.

i strive for making a character for each realm of the game so i try to use cosmetics from seasons that happen in said realm i'm trying to match with a certain look, then i build the character out from there and (usually) give them a lore reason for having something

which means i want to collect a LOT OF THINGS from past seasons

Because I love valley twins and really wanted Wasteland's hairstyle. Somewhere along the way I finished forest because I could afford it but I never dropped below 450 candles even at that time.

mhm, and i think that this you mention is the point about the sky economy post. that cosmetics are just but a part, the self expression part, of sky, yet friendship and generosity remains to be the key value. though i will not blame that part of the sky player base that focuses on candle grind, because it still brings some sort of joy and reward out of it. but then again, this is not the core value of sky, while still is a relatable gameplay experience for everyone alike.

Well, I was able to place the Wind Chimes, the Teapot, and the Plant pot directly in the middle of where the Shard landed

it's not invalid placement until the shard has landed specifically because that would prevent people from using shard locations for props during the long stretches of time there's no shard there. my guess would be that the prop would break like it does with multiple crab hits or a krill hit but I've never placed a prop below a shard before. it's interesting it doesnt break

honestly I don't think region hopping for the best price is as big an issue as they think it'll be. apple required me to put in a valid US address to add a payment method at all and google play only lets you change your region once a year even though it doesn't require an address to do so. nintendo I don't think lets you change regions at all, you have to make a new account. and playstation is the same. the fact that the in game store region relies on your account linked to the payment method means it's going to be difficult for people to region hop even without tgc doing a single thing to stop it.

personally, just getting 10 candles is enough though lately i've been getting 15 candles. 30 mins before grandma, my route is village, theatre, coliseum, the 2nd area of forest, pond, then wait for 5-10 mins for grandma, area before temple of forest. and then i go straight to the abyss area to hunt for shells. i get about 15-17 candles

this is probably the lazy man's candle run honestly it takes about half an hour and only because i'm timing it with grandma
