1. if there's no order while melting them, then darkness count = wax count
2. if it's in order (e.g. darkness tree, darkness that trapped manta) then darkness count ×2 = wax count

The only one darkness doesn't follow this is the one from the shipwright's memory

At times it just burns quickly on the back of the turtle. But often the wax remains over the water surface. So you may find it. Easier if you got to see where it appeared at the begining of the turtle event.

If you're able to spin in the air (spinning up) helps. Climbing the plants one by one using jump can help.

I usually either fly up with the spin or carry my light prop (if you have a light prop spell that would help too)

No problem there should be a set of stairs in a nook (iirc it's behind some webs?) That will lead to the hidden area. One spirit is in the water, and two are above on a little overhang :3
