Shards never overlap with reset time anymore as far as I'm aware. This is likely to prevent a random eruption appearing during reset time like it did way back in the past (I say random since it would switch to a different eruption after reaching regular shard times)

I recommend waiting in a realm vs staring at the gate because sometimes they just.. do not appear on the gate. Unless you're trying to pin point that very specific time which otherwise makes sense. But in that case I'd recommend multiple devices in different servers just in case

normally when people krill dodge, it's back toward the main entrance to crab fields. for a while i did that, and then i decided to take it up a notch, and flew around the ruins of the ship instead, the krill still coming for me, and suddenly dove downwards and actually succeeded in avoiding it!
