from my screenrecord you can see some crabs on the bridge, or at the side, or even around the pond. it is easier to distract them from the start of the event (before more crabs and shards fall)

Well, that shard wasn’t fun. I tried to do it while playing my own account on my phone and my kid’s account on her iPad (she’s grounded from her device but being a nice dad I’ve agreed to help her farm while she can’t use it ). Somehow, miraculously, neither of us lost winged light. First it was just us, and after nearly clearing all the dark plants, I must have server merged into a server where they hadn’t been cleared because they respawned, though fortunately there were other players there. At one point I actually got trapped between a shard piece and an elevated piece of ground and was shedding winged light like I was ||in the continuous red rock rain of Eden||. I had to close the game and teleport back to my kid, which saved me from actually losing the winged lights, and somehow my kid’s skykid didn’t get murdered by crabs while my attention was away from her device. In the end it was worth the AC but jeez, what chaos!

I ended up having to do it all alone and it was brutal. Thankfully I didn't lose anything, but doing the mission by yourself is hard.

A tip if you're caught doing it solo and there are red crabs. Focus on getting the crabs to follow you away from the shards. I got some of the crabs to go over the bridge, so they fell in the clouds. Some of the other ones were near the start of Forest Brook.

The one positive aspect I found of this shard’s location were the copious number of butterflies. As long as the crabs weren’t launching me into shards, I could almost ignore them since the butterflies were recharging me after every hit.

Something that helped me(I normally do the shard events solo ) is the audio, u can actually hear when the crab is going to come. If you time it right you can easily avoid the crabs

The more likely case is what I and others have been talking about, that if you finish the event after a certain cutoff you don't get the candle rewards at all

Hihi, shiny new moth here and posting in this discord outside of an intro post for the first time. Today’s shard was wild, haha. And had a group too! I kinda liked it, even if I lost two WL. Hoping to help folks out later today if work doesn’t kick my butt, so having a trick on the Switch to make things easier would be much appreciated.

I can't say it enough, but the people there were all working as a team. Like one was burning plants, one recharging others, one bait, and one gathering the light. With random rotations in roles where we just filled in

Today's shard reset 6 times for myself and other players after meeting the requirements, on top of having excessive numbers of crabs and butterflies preventing any deep calls.

Was this planned by the same dev who had us running the daily spirit in Golden Wastes' Krill Zone?

I think the event is a bit bugged, I also noticed that the second part of the event with collecting the light fragments kept resetting a bunch too after we had filled the orange circle meter. The shards never felt finished in beta either, which is why some people are upset that the season was released anyway when they were still very buggy. It is what it is I guess

The darkness burned way too slow also. I think thats why some people are running overtime during the event. There was me and two strangers. It took us about 20 minutes to complete. Thankfully it was just after the shards dropped. Seriously grueling. I revived the others 4 diff times and I had to be revived twice. I cant believe I only lost 1 wl. At one point we were all up at the meditation spot just frazzled.

yes, waves, but the progress bar didn't work for me past the first wave, it stayed full for the rest of the event. The pink star indicators are difficult to see in bright red light/environment, and it was kinda hard to judge how much was left. Not a big problem but annoying nonetheless.

it's a bug, but you have to be aware of it. If you complete the event after its scheduled time ends, you don't get the reward. You can see that it ended if the sky and lighting turn normal. To get the reward you need to finish before that, you have 50 minutes after the first landing.
