thanks for the info. i think the issue is that i did the quest, meditated and did the quest, but the first quest didn't show as completed. now i'm not sure how to progress because the meditation hasn't shown up again

Well, here I go again, hope I don’t have a hard time with it this time, unlike the one from earlier

You can complete the current Shattering seasonal quests by participating in the Red Shards event. Remember that shard events are classified as either Red or Black. Red is the one you need to do to finish it, and it gives you ascended candles and has two phases: one to burn the dark plants and the other to collect the light creatures after meditating. After completing the event, the blue-ish Shattering QG should appear, allowing you to teleport to the hub, where you can view the seasonal tree and eventually receive the "completed" message if you pressed the❗that you just did in that place. (It won't work at home.)

Feel free to check the pins of the #questions-and-help channel to see the schedule of shards falling today, but keep in mind that it changes daily due to inconsistency, so check it occasionally. It's late here so I apologize if I ever misunderstood you.

How exactly do the shards work with the season? Do I have to do the shard event every day or a minimum number of times to complete the season?

If you are talking about the seasonal quests, you complete them by completing Red Shard events. After burning the darkness and shattering the shard, a meditation spot will appear. It will activate a memory for you to clear, and once that is done, wait a few seconds for a blue version of the season guide to pop up. Interacting with it will lead you to a memory space where you can complete the quest

Gray/blue shards will not count towards the seasonal quests

the shard events is completely up to you whether if you wanna complete them or not. But if there's a new seasonal quests available, you have to participate in a red shard event in order to complete the quest. [ you'll know that you complete the quest when the guide appears after activating and completing the memory via meditation spot once you finish the red shard event. ]
Though note that if the big main shard is blue, means it's only wax.. If red then you'll get ascended candles from it.

it’s supposed to be: the shards are the same type for one day, and one shard type may not be the same another day. if you see red shards today it will remain as red for the rest of the day until reset. so that’s like saying “attend different types per day” (if i make sense)

That was a tough location. The trees both make it hard to see the crabs and often force the camera in close, and make it difficult to lead the crabs away. Plus burning the plants during the second part was especially difficult, compared to chasing down jellyfish or crab memory fragments. Even with a few other people that was brutal.

so after you sit at the temple at the very end of forest and sit through or skip the cutscene of the ancestor spirit, right behind the temple, the door on the way to valley will open and the shard will be there (hopefully that makes sense)

From what I understand the window for them to appear starts 30 minutes after every odd hour PDT, so the next window should open at 5:30 PDT I think

Rn shards fall at the 5th minute of the hour after reset

So for example your reset is 3:00 then shards fall by 4:05

did anyone else find todays shards ridiculously hard to do solo??? the shard itself was hard enough, but afterwards i couldnt even finish burning all the plants to get the light. they just wouldnt burn + there were crabs everywhere. its so annoying

deep calling to lure crabs away doesnt work either for whatever reason??? it worked when one person that was there for like 2 seconds did it, but i kept deep calling and trying to get the crabs attention and they just didnt care. theyd only attack when i was trying to burn stuff

shards arent fun its just burning a plant for 2 seconds, needing to fly away because a crab is trying to get you, returning to keep burning a plant, flying away, over and over until the shard glitches out and just ends for some reason

Idk why but those crab seems not really care about deep calling, so I need to get close to it to distract them..
