Spirit trees are now split into friendship levels, and each level contains 3 nodes. Nodes contain cosmetics or spells. Purchasing one of the nodes gives you friendship XP. If you don't want to purchase a node from a level, you can choose to skip it by spending time with a spirit. This will give you friendship XP as well. You need to spend at least 30 minutes with a spirit in order to get the friendship XP, and you don't get any more XP afterwards. It's useful in situations for when you're saving up for a specific item but don't want to get, let's say, a node that only contains a paint or a spell that costs about 30 seasonal candles.

also yea i do agree the iaps have been an issue for a long time (i last played during season of duets and actually stopped bc of the iaps), but again its just from my personal experience not as easy to fix as you might think. you can’t just switch systems without risking losing years of data for every player and if the underlying system is broken from back before tgc was Huge, it’s difficult to just. Cure the underlying disease. if that makes sense
i do think it needs addressing desperately btw i just think it also cant be understated how difficult it could be

TGC has on two separate occasions acknowledged IAPs missing. A fix being deployed doesn't mean it'll work universally. What's left for them to do is to submit a bug report. Denying that they've had a negative experience and pointing the fault back at them isn't going to result in a healthy discussion. Estimating that they get around 20k players on the daily it's understandable why they have bugs, but that's still not something people should be normalizing especially against somebody who's having problems and feeling very frustrated because of it

I'm not entirely sure if its been explained in lore yet why the spirits are still bound to the realms- because they do get 'released' whenever you go to Eden and theyre all in orbit, and fly up when you first free them.

I guess the lore implication is you do set them free but for gameplay reasons they stick around because otherwise the world would be very empty 😭
