Can you explain your design process for this character? I've been struggling with designing my own skysona (can't quite wrap my head around how to bridge the gap between my fursona and in-game sky kid... biology?)

I did this at the beginning of the year. Simple, but I like it anyway (*´∀`)

well I drew my skysona with trials and errors, at beginning I was drawing her closer to human than how I draw her now, at first I drew her without such feathery fur on her body and legs were much closer to human-like until I figured that she would look more interesting if she had more deer-like legs, as well that she would look cooler with mouth to incorporate expressions better than if her face was kept as a mask like in-game (since expressions are my fav part of drawing :0c). I also prefer to make some changes in their in-game models for making it look fitting to their traits, like I did with her shoes fitting to digitigrade legs and changed mask into her natural face. And also it's important to note that design process is often a result of development of own artstyle, so I just. Love to draw sky kids in my own way than follow canon in-game appearances

For a long time I fantasized what cephalopod light creatures would be like to which sadly never got in the final game (art book page for source of inspo) .

I made an octopus, cuttlefish, and squid but more of a cosmic manta inspired look to them, and their chromatophores are visible.

While I kept the diamond motif to match Sky, there is a literal existing species called diamond back squid. I couldn't pass up the opportunity to make diamond shaped mantle, fins, and tentacles clubs.

The reason I made this drawing is because I desperately needed a home screen wallpaper for my iPad (the previous wallpaper is my old art)

And for those who enjoy lore, this scene happened far, far in the present era (I’m going to make a follow up drawing later on for Erebus’s other form)
