i've run around some, and discovered that the outside of aviary village and the inside of the cafe share the same server instance. that is, there can't be 8 players inside the cafe unless there's also no players outside in that server.

i found this out when i went out of bounds of the cafe, and saw the shadows of players but not anyone to interact with around the closet shrines. when i left the cafe and went to the shrines, there were players in the same spots!
