It was new this patch! They don’t fly away, but stand around after you collect your daily! Also they respond to some emotes like the Two Embers place! That said if you leave the area they’ll be gone.

The color change are the spirits you’ve ascended btw! So they’d all be golden if you spend ascended candles on them!

Just to remind others who haven't noticed. I only say this because I didn't realize at first, but if you step close enough and look up, this door lets you in after you've completed getting the ULT cape, the one that you have to buy with two hearts after fully completing two spirits. Which in this case all 4 spirits will need to be completed.

The stone Pillar with the Manta(?) on top is in Sanctuary at the edge of the main island. There are 3 of them standing together. Iirc, you had to also visit it for the Sanctuary quest line.
The other pillar with the Season of Flight Emblem can be found at a few Flight Entrances (like Aviary's and Forest's flight paths, and it can be found in multiple locations in the Flight Seasonal area as well.

Not only is this “frozen in time” memory moving (head turn), which I’ve experienced a rare couple times before with other spirits; the hug symbol from the current sapling quest appeared over the spirit, and when I clicked on the button it actually worked for a brief moment.
