Story time!

I met this rainbow cape player as I was casually waltzing around in Eden for black dye. I found this player inside that tower with the crabs standing near a brazier. I healed him with my call and he returned the favor, and we exchanged gratitude gestures. In a spur of the moment, I did the crab emote which amused my then would be friend and got a chuckle out of it. I messed around more with crab emotes, even picked one up and dropped it off at the tower exit that overlooks the path below you just trekked up. Me being even more of a goofball, I did the boo! beckon, and flex emote to say "Come at me bro" to the Krill. I have that sort of humor in Eden and Wasteland and I made it a habit to lessen other player's tension. Many are terrified even 1, 2, even 3 years later. The Krill briefly spotted me, startling my would-be new friend, and figured Eden and Krill terrify him. I'd reassure him with the pound chest emote, flex emotes, and other emotes to say "You're strong" or "Let's get it".

I took this player up on the gate that framed the entrance to the last tunnel before PNR and we messed around up there too with a variety of emotes. Having done enough silliness, we went into the tunnel, and he gestured me to proceed. Reaching the very end, he spammed the startled emote numerous times. (Understandable because... Point of No Return). But he assured he wanted to go by pointing, but was scared. Once more, I did the pound chest and pray emotes for reassurance.

This player was very confident in PNR and already knew how to time the next mad dash to the next lantern and statue. Me being the "older" player, I'd go ahead and light lanterns, while honking to serve as way points for statues. We were like a tag team. We cleared PNR spectacularly. As a slam dunk on Eden, we emoted all sorts of nonsense as we took finishing blows. (Yes, I'm doing the Cure for Me dance here lol). In rebirth, we added each other.

Those are players that left the server, sometimes they appear as blue lights and sometimes they just disappear. It was added spring 2024, iirc. It's not really explained anywhere to be fair.

I've seen that as well. I think that's since festival tech exists in the Anniversary Aviary and that's coming up. I did just visit Skyfest myself the other day and noticed the ghosts as blue lights when I went back to normal Aviary. Might be a bug we encounter as the event approaches.
