(Basically, I had tapped the icon to light this player's candle before I entered the music sheet challenge, and once they started moving, my Skykid locked on just like normal... except that I was still playing the challenge! So it became a horror-movie style chase through Harmony Hall until they finally left through the Village of Dreams door, kicking me out of the music challenge and ending my torment)
