for me, Game Maker is super goated for just machine gunning out sprites. Makes it so easy to just add a whole bunch of new art objects and manipulate them to create an experience that truly shines

Just had to remake the whole parent-child hierarchy system but that's fine, at least there's some libraries to help

Also it defaults to kotlin, which basically takes all the good parts (specifically the good parts) from c#, java, groovy and typescript and combines them.

like since i actually tried to make an actual game instead of just an idle computer screen sim like last year, i ended up having to do like
coming up with the idea, coding the game, assigning duties, implementing everything people got ready, writing the dialogue, making the ui, designing the rooms, coming up with the concepts and math of how to animate things good, checking in to make sure people on schedule, etc etc etc

when at the end of the day, im just good at programming xD

i just had the story involve time travel while the game itself takes place in 2042

originally, the concept was to have us be in Evil pov protecting a bunker from like, eldritch horror

no stealth elements made it in,
nor did entering cameras,
nor did deploying drones,
what ended up happening was i was pretty happy with the player controller and i was like fuck, this feels like a movement shooter

then it became a movement shooter

Our game renders on mobile apparently, only thing not working is WASD cuz the touchscreen works as a mouse.
I might add mobile support in an update
