The Hephaestus Forge is cool

static wraith
#

It does not have much content yet, though it seems it is getting added to the pack in 2.0(?). The only useful parts for now are Deco and Eternal Stella. Development is active, but there has not been a release in a few months.

cobalt sleet

from what I've heard it didn't gain much content in the past 2-3 years tho

did the updates add content tho?

I think it would be great if someone just did a craftoria+ pack that adds mods rejected by the main pack for those that want even more because I get why some mods don’t make it in but some I’d love to still try in craftoria anyway

cobalt sleet
#

actually pretty neat idea ngl

loud stratus
#

I would myself for fun but I’m incapable of getting packs to work ever

timid coyote
#

It—pack making—is not to be feared.
Prism launcher is a good way to start... it makes stating with a bare instance easy, just specifying MC version, and NeoForge or Fabric.
Then you can just pick mods, also through Prism.
With any luck, the combo of mods you've chosen runs and you've got a play-able game.
If it doesn't start, then you got a mod conflict to sort out... most simply by just leaving out one of the conflicting mods.

The more involved part is adding, removing, or altering recipes and items to unify and balance the pack.
But skipping that, you'll at least have something you can play.

loud stratus
#

like adding mystical agriculture and a line for that, croptopia and quests for acquiring different foods (or pams harvest craft, whichever i prefer at the moment), etc

#

lowkey a craftoria+ where every single mod has quests so that to get completionist you have to acquire everything 😈 #evil

delicate vortex
timid coyote
#

Yeah, the added content, be it kubejs scripts, quests, or custom artwork is the real meat of the matter, if your goal is to publish a popular pack.
For yourself or a small group of friends… it’s not hard to whip something together.
And maybe would be a good start on something bigger to come.

We have been discussing food quests and how to do them properly. In AOF7, the food quests were individually simple but there was a LOT of them. We want to improve on those before releasing some. We do plan on releasing them eventually though, although it may be in 2.0

Makes me wish croptoria was in the game but after reexploring the mod I get that it might seem a bit outdated in its current graphics. Feels a lot older than other craftoria mod sprites. Pam’s too ofc. If there’s any chance to add more let’s do and delight mods to make up for this I’d greatly appreciate it. Just any of either still not in. ❤️ I love having massive farms with as many crops as possible but rn there aren’t as many to choose from compared to in the past

Hi Team AOE, it's been a long-long time since I've been around. I host a small server for a group of friends (~20 members) and we're playing Craftoria for our Season 2. A lot of the members are modders themselves, so I've added their mods to our server. I think the mods fit pretty well with the pack so I'd like to suggest them for consideration with future updates -

Create: Additional Logistics adds some cool QOL features to Create like a cash register that replaces the Stock Ticker and keeps a ledger of all sales. Plus the ledger can be used for restocking. What's been great for us is it adds more optimized shafts that function as a multiblock other than where they connect to other machines. This can significantly improve mspt for large Create builds.

Sculk Muffler lets you mute or reduce specific sounds within an area. It works both ways so you can have sounds that you don't hear until you enter an area, or sounds within an area that are muted. This is great for some farms, or just for builds. We used it a lot to have music that you hear when you enter a shop.

Echo of Death is a usable item you can craft that will teleport you to your last death. It was a godsend for everyone on the server with,.. skill issues.

Freeze Block is a torch that prevents snow accumulation within an area. This was great paired with Serene Seasons to prevent snow within a wide range during Winter.

All of these mods were made in-house by members of the server and extensively tested. Performance is critical for us, so they're well-tested in that regard too. In fact, we've used custom builds of certain mods due to poor performance.

delicate vortex
gritty phoenix
#

The difference between extreme and sculk muffler is that the sound suppression is localized and configurable by the block. Unless I'm mistaken, Extreme affects you only for all of a type of sound.

#

So like you can suppress cow sounds just within a chunk, and it affects anyone in that chunk. As opposed to not hearing any cow anywhere for you only.

#

Good point on /back it was more relevant to our last season because we didn't have any form of teleportation so it was something you had to craft to do.

delicate vortex
#

you can suppress sound in certain radius max to 32 block iirc with extreme sound muffer

gritty phoenix
#

It's client only so it only affects you. That's the difference.

#

If I place a Sculk Muffler with suppression options, it affects everyone else too.

delicate vortex
#

oh it a block

torpid shard
gritty phoenix
stone locust
#

i like the sculk muffler, its actually a mod i've been wanting

#

wait nevermind

#

wrong thing

#

it was actually a mod to set a bounding box where you want particles to not show

#

i keep sounds off all the time cause they lag me

#

and freeze block, its neat, but i'd much prefer a mod that has more than the single block. half of those mods could be consolidated into 1, cause for small custom packs, they're neat as a QOL, but when you're already working with so many mods, cutting down on mods that add a single block is a must. only way they get accepted is if they're mega mega useful, like the mod that adds the mega torch

#

@delicate vortex you never had sounds lag you

#

?

delicate vortex
#

I don't even have sound on :p

stone locust
#

pretty much its when you have SO many sound sources around you the sound engine starts getting bogged down and it feels like a memory leak, fps plummets

stone locust
#

so like, for the freeze block, bringing back Kibe Utilities would be the way to go cause they not only have the block that does that, but one for rain, and it brings back entangled buckets and the slimesling/slime boots and the gliders which everyone loved

#

spikes and lassos and the rings

#

peak mod

delicate vortex
#

oh this one

stone locust
#

yeah

#

we used to have it in every fabric pack we did

#

at least for a while

#

it recently ported to neo

lusty imp
#

May i also throw in Etched as a suggestion? Have a friend who loves having different sounds and music around her base and was pretty bummed it's not on a server we're playing Craftoria on

delicate vortex
#

oh nyo, you can added that on your own is fine, aint no way that can be default in pack, there will be alot of NSFW or racist song get play if that get added

#

ppls is idiot, can't trust them :p

lusty imp
#

Oh i see, haven't thought about that possibility

stone locust
#

yeah thats also why (at least on our servers) the ability to bring in images from URL in the exposure mod is disabled, to prevent NSFW content being displayed in the server

gritty phoenix
#

That's a good point. Totally different when it's public vs a group of friends.

stone locust
#

yeah

#

if it was private i can already see the chaos

gritty phoenix
#

We added Etched to ours, and there were many rickrolls

stone locust
#

a good thing is a lot of the players and active community members here are on the older side in terms of the average age of a mc player, so most of us are mature enough to not even try 😆 but we do get some trolls sometimes and its better to be proactive about these things

lusty imp
#

Yeah it makes perfect sense to not have it on a public server

gritty phoenix
#

The nice thing about running a server with a bunch of mod authors is that anytime something broke, we'd pull up the source code and fix it. When I say we I mostly mean the mod author of Create: Additional Logistics and Sculk Muffler.

Consider adding Simple Backups to the server pack. It's prone to causing a bit of a lag spike when the file size gets a little chunky & most people won't care about it too much. But power in my house just blinked off/on & my server is now stuck in a crash loop, I have gotten so used to it being in server packs by default & the one time when I need it it's not there. https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/simple-backups

Hey theree, I'm the author of Dungeons Arise, which is on Craftoria. Just passing by to suggest one of my recent mods, Hellish Trials (aka Nether Trials & Chambers). I noticed most mods that added Trial Chambers for the nether were just reskins of the vanilla structure, so this mod adds an actual new design while keeping some features from the overworld trials, such as wind charges and the Breeze. Also, I can add stuff to the loot pools easily if you need to. I think you may like it, cheers

I recently discovered that one of my favorite Minecraft mods will be updated for version 1.21.1 Neoforge. It focuses on finding and repairing a TARDIS, then using it as transportation. The creator seems like a nice person, her server is respectful and supportive of minorities, and the mod is very detailed. I don't know if it fits into craftoria, but it would be amazing if a modpack of that size used this mod when it's released. I intend to add it to my personal world as soon as the creator finishes the update.

grizzled widget

Always add it

cobalt sleet
#

I imagine it would get rather annoying fairly quickly, especially with the boatload of items modded mc has even in earlygame

grizzled widget
#

It's a very minimal mod that lets you know as things go into the inventory

#

When you ultimine some stone and your wooden pick breaks how much stone did you get?

#

You heard you picked up an item, what was it?

#

What seeds did you get as you ultimine some grass

#

how much wheat did you get

#

you're mining andesite using ultimine, how much of what you mined was stone vs andesite when using ultimine

#

If you had this mod in the pack no one would think to remove it - I consider it essential

cobalt sleet
#

why would I need a notifier for that tho? I can just open my inventory/backpack and see the amounts of stacks right there when I'm done mining

grizzled widget
#

If you already had some stone in there already?

cobalt sleet
#

pickup notifiers are just additional clutter in the HUD

grizzled widget
#

This one isn't - it's super clean

#

It's as valuable as the inventory sorting to me

cobalt sleet
grizzled widget
#

Okay you find a vien of copper that is 47 blocks! Nice. You have a pickaxe and you ultimine it - How much copper did you get from that one vein? You already had lots of copper

#

Perhaps you find a similar vein later and now you have fortune X!

#

Sure would be nice to see how much we get from an ultimine of like 40 blocks

#

If you haven't tried it you cannot really comment

cobalt sleet
#

if I have tons of copper already why would I need to mine a vein and know how much exactly I found?

if I have tons of a resource any additions to that is just extra and definitely isn't worth my HUD space for a notification

grizzled widget
#

Brother it won't clutter your HUD - it only shows you things you are picking up for a few MS

#

If you don't want a resource you wouldn't be mining it

#

be quiet

cobalt sleet
grizzled widget
#

You don't seem to even understand what it does

grizzled widget
cobalt sleet
#

it's easier to add smth if you need it rather than removing it if you don't need it

grizzled widget
#

My point is everyone would like to know how many resources they get from ultimining

cobalt sleet
#

did you ask everyone?

grizzled widget
#

Whatever dude, you're strangely argumentive

#

I haven't got time for it

#

"I don't need copper" ☝️ 🤓

timid coyote
#

Do you not aim when you ultimine?

#

I mean, the vast majority of the time I use it, I'm mining this or that ore, that I've aimed at—and ultimine itself tells you how many blocks you/it are about to break.

#

And maybe with the exception of rushing for a steam mining drill, I've never felt the need to keep constant track of what I've gathered so far.
It mostly goes into banks; if I do really want to stop as soon as I get something, I probably have synthetic bookmarks (favorites) from EMI, and storing what's new in my inventory, so they (the synthetic bookmarks) well update and I'll know when I have enough.

#

Other than that, I just mine lots, I know I'll use it when playing the tech mods especially.

#

Anyhow... client side mods you can always add without them being in the pack.
-# not saying either way right now about this particular mod going in or not.

Trading post mod would also suffice, at least so you could interact with all the villagers simultaneously, but automated solution would be better either way

timid coyote

Auto-trading be cracked, change my mind
Like, more so then base villager trading already is.
-# tiny /j

Aside from that, you can currently put villagers in Ars containment jars and still manually trade with them.

#

isn't that one an mcreator mod?

stable needle
#

Shows that it's neoforge? I don't know what mcreator is

timid coyote
#

It's an app for making mods with out Java coding knowledge.
Neat idea, attracts peeps with good art skills (always good to have those!), but the resulting mods have a rep for being un-performant.

stone locust
#

Another thing is that, if the mod is an addon to another main mod, if the main mod updates and doesnt support older addon mods, there's very little garuntee that the mcreator mod gets updated to support the main mod's update, leaving ya stuck again

timid coyote
#

True. There's always bugs to work out—getting it sorted on it's own is one thing, running and interacting with other mods inside a larger pack is another. I mean regarding the eternal question of "is this fully correct and debugged?".

i love this pack. i do. however it seems like in the most recent version, there are WAY too many structures, so i really suggest adding sparse structures and playing around with the spawn rates. the default makes all structures twice as rare, which is what i'm gonna try for a while and see how it feels, but god there's way too many structures lmfao

#

that said, i did add lithosphere, which is another suggestion i have tbh, but that doesn't modify structure spawns at all, so

timid coyote
#

Yep, same observation has been made by others too; structure density wasn’t intentionally increased; it should be adjusted

open marten
#

also, please GOD switch to the sodium suite over embeddium. in a world where sodium now has a neoforge version, i truthfully see no reason for embeddium to even still exist

slender sage
#

No

open marten
#

also, resourcify is a go to favorite of mine. lets you download shaders, resource packs, datapacks, and worlds in game from a menu

#

super nice

open marten
#

like is there a reason y'all use embeddium over sodium, or

#

bc i think sodium is just better. also needs 1 less mod in the pack, since you don't need smth like monocle to have shaders work

timid coyote
#

You’re free to swap mods out, add new stuff, remove stuff, for your own worlds, no worries.

open marten
timid coyote

Suffice to say, the choice wasn’t made by flipping a coin.
A lot of un-needed drama in the past over those two mods; just let it lie, we said no, as far as what’s shipped in Craftoria.

open marten
#

fair enough.

#

either way, my actual suggestions thus far are sparse structures to make structure rarity tweaking easier, lithosphere (if it wasn't already considered), and resourcify.

ftbchunks was swapped to OPAC, which imo is better, also has native compat with xaeros

open marten
#

ah, opac. that makes sense

slender sage

ftbchunks just doesn't seem to actually protect from anything :/

open marten

bomd and charging gadgets seem like weird removals, esp when just dire things is in the pack. tho i think that one does add some of its own chargers? been a while since i've played with it, so i forget

#

i've seen both before, but every time i messed with them, i honestly thought the one you're adding was just like, an updated version of the one that's already in the pack, since they seemed identical

slender sage
#

mostly, yeah, other one has some other features and looks more modern

open marten

# open marten i never really noticed it tbh. i almost always swap xaeros out, so

👋 its specifically journeymaps' minimap. if you've got a decent computer and never have a massive base, even with the minimap enabled, its hard to notice a difference when just playing normally, but i found it actually halves fps (or at least it did in aof7. its better now but still not good). so when you're "non-journymap minimap affected fps" is already relatively low, halving it is torture

#

ive got some screenshot evidence from a while ago when testing, its kinda crazy

cobalt sleet
#

my testing was this hiding the minimap toggle keybind in both mods and the results in my personal modpack:
disabled/enabled
xaero: 80-100fps/70-90fps
journeymap: 70-90fps/40-60fps

each range being within a roughly 2min timeframe, after letting the game adjust to the toggle

i think that create Aero isn't just any Create addon; it's an amazing mod in its own right. This is a mod that many people have been waiting for for years. I think it might compare to the release of Thaumcraft 7 lol. Interestingly, they hit almost 100k downloads on the first day. However, I'm not sure about the better compatibility between Sodium and Embeddium. I've been using Sodium in the modpack for about four months and haven't had a single problem.

#

Anyway, this is for those who want to add the mod individually to their own instance. Just remove Embeddium and Farm & Charm for now. This will make Create Aeronautics work properly. even with shaders

cobalt sleet
#

it's mostly "just" a much better alternative to Valkyrian Skies + Clockwork I'd say

timid coyote
#

Give it a chance to adapt; everything else (not just in this pack) has been out on 1.21.1 for quite a while before Aeronautics; which, imo, puts the onus on Aeronautics to get compatible with the ecosystem, not the other way around.

#

-# || after going this long, they probably should have pushed to 26.x anyway ||

cobalt sleet
#

also create isn't on 26.x yet afaik

timid coyote
#

Meh.
Nostalgia, for an ecosystem, is slow death.
Modded MC isn’t still relevant because MC is unchanging.
New gets more new players.

cobalt sleet
#

I'm really only waiting for my fav mods to port to 26.1 but I will most likely have to wait until the end of the year to see most mods on there

#

also the nostalgia argument imo doesn't really work on anything past 1.16.5 (yet) cuz both 1.20.1 and 1.21.1 are better supported than most if not all other mc versions between and after them

#

mod devs just can't spend all their time to chase every major version

#

and I'd rather wait for the mod devs than being forced to play on a (so far) barely supported more modern version

timid coyote
#

No one’s forcing anyone to play any version, nor any mod to port.
Just observing it’s the continuous churn that’s kept modded MC a fairly vibrant thing for many years.

I mean, I still miss Botonia, Create took a long time to get to 1.21.1, and so on, yet Craftoria was a much bigger pack in terms of downloads, than previous AOE efforts.
-# Same for ATM10; so it wasn’t just moving from Fabric.

IOW, it’s not the old hands, or the regulars like us on this or that modded discord server… it’s the new players that feed the ecosystem, imo.

Should definitely add prefab, helps skip a lot of the grind early game. It’s 1.21.1 and neoforge

delicate vortex

for craftoria not mod itself btw

cobalt sleet

I remember having quite a few of those pylons on eu1 and having some of the Iron's Spells effects on them lol

torpid shard
#

yea...back then we would have things like abyssal shroud on permanently which is beyond broken xD

cobalt sleet
#

or evasion 4

#

iirc True Invis was the most difficult one to set up because with all the ways I could find to extend potion durations I only barely got it above the required 1min duration to apply it to the filter

#

like 1min and 3sec I think was the max duration I could get to work with some ars nouveau shenanigans

torpid shard
#

eh, can still get true invis with one of the relics. just have to be below a certain light level

vast sentinel
#

the mod isnt that bad if tweak the crafting of talismans and make it endgame

delicate vortex
forest pelican
#

i wanna say we need more lategame not endgame

#

endgame being the big eternity gateway is good

#

but something between 10k and 100k hp

Suggestion: Apothic Tooltip Cleanup

Link: https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/apothic-tooltip-cleanup

Why: Apotheosis gear stacks a lot of affixes and empty sockets on one weapon at higher world tiers, which gets messy fast. This mod truncates the affix list (hold alt to expand), compacts gem tooltips with multiple modes for how compact you want them, and merges empty sockets into one line.

CurseForge

Cleans up Apotheosis affix and gem tooltips. Truncate affix lists, compact gem displays, and merge empty sockets.

I was gonna suggest Enigmatic Legacy buut it's not 1.21

#

And the ongoing 1.21 port "Enigmatic Legacy Plus" still has bugs or missing content

I have a suggestion, maybe the belt artifact can also be rerolled for the type of artifact you can equip more of, or maybe you can combine artifacts after fully upgrading them.

Mod: Create Schematic Checker
Link: https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/create-schematicchecker
Why: So I've heard that using the schematic cannons can have exploits that players will use or find and there was no way to prevent it from happening unless the servers disable or banned their use. I saw that CSC is designed for public and survival servers that allow schematic uploads. It protects against known Create schematic exploits such as item duplication, creative-item acquisition, server lag, crashes, malformed contraptions, and dangerous addon NBT.

CurseForge

A mod for fix all schematic problem from Create and addon!

Yo, I am that one oddball who just especially loves playing 3rd person in mc and really wants to see it work, and well, I always notice that when I play Minecraft's 3rd person always feels janky, you don't have a crosshair, can't see what you're interacting with, miss attacks a lot, is incredibly hard to build or mine things with, just in general, a bad 3rd person (imo). But most of that is COMPLETELY solved by the greatness thhat is SSR lmao, but that doesn't address all the other gripes.

I started getting into modding Minecraft about almost a month ago, and ended up working on a fix/extension for the Shoulder Surfing Reloaded mod (if you're interested at all), that addresses:

  • Shoulder Surfing Reloaded's decoupled camera fails in 3rd person when running away. This mod solves that w a simple fix to have a truly decoupled camera where you can look wherever you want while moving wherever you want in 3rd person.
  • Adds an additional configurable overhead perspective to shoulder surfing's perspective cycle. This is for the masses of people who prefer the perspective of Leawind's 3rd person as opposed to shoulder surfing but still want all the capabilities and compats that SSR has :D
  • and many other compats!

asw as another mod which adds the decoupled camera in 3rd person to mounts asw (with Controllable support!), and another mod which smooths over and adds fluid f5 perspective transitions !!

Would you be interested in adding these to your modpack? Ik it's a big ask and i'm not really familiar with all this, and idk if im being a bit too forward honestly lmao, but I really think they would make the gameplay a much overall smoother experience (smooth f5 being the least important) and just that much closer to a better third person in general... Please do lmk, would really mean a lot. Ty for ur time and ty for making such a banger modpack XD
