Bluffing as the Theolog:

  • When bluffing as the Theolog, you want to be in the front line, ensuring you keep running town in circles, but don't make it too obvious or you'll get found out quickly.
  • Usually evil players would want to kill a successful Theolog, so make sure you have a reason why you aren't dying at night.
  • Your info should make sense, even if it is wrong, there needs to be something that town gets out of the discussion.
#

Flavour & History:
This one has little history I'll be real I literally made it yesterday, but it started as a rework of one of Elluna's unreleased characters, so it used to have [+0 to +2 Theologs] (albeit it wasn't called Theolog). The only mechanical change since conception was the removal of the dupes.
As per the flavour, I thought the ability worked well, mechanically, with Metagnostic, and wanted something that felt similar, so after a bit of discussion Axolator suggested Theolog, and I liked it. The icon then is part of The Creation of Adam, which I felt worked well with The Creation of the Sun and Moon which is Metagnostic's icon. Usually I don't like having icons be straight up people but I think I'm happy with these two, because they're references to real things and not just people.

You know you could've just said "yeah every character has something they want talked about"

amber snow
#

im aware

#

but i spent a lot of time writing

cursive panther
#

very interesting

tepid hearth
#

Oh it’s this one!

#

Yeah you mentioned it like yesterday and I thought it was cool

fluid spade
#

this is high priestess coded (positive)

#

but some people will complain because its high priestess coded (negative)

amber snow
#

its hp coded but if hp was workable on info heavy environments

#

imo

#

bc hp as is just gets sent to the solviest player on heavy info

amber snow
tepid hearth
#

Ah yeah that’s what it was

fluid spade
amber snow
#

because my normal procedure is not keep things under wraps

amber snow
#

and then X brings up their info

fluid spade
#

i mean it is an example you give

#

as a topic of discussion

amber snow
#

true enough but in the example its as a "call out X's bluff"

#

and not as a "this solves the game"

fluid spade
#

true

#

but also this to me is also what sending HP to X does

#

on info scripts anyways

amber snow
#

idk i feel like as a hp you dont usually send to call out bluffs on info heavy

fluid spade
#

maybe

amber snow
#

you just send them to game solvers

fluid spade
#

but mid-late game i might

#

i mean i have my own specific high priestess takes so maybe we're different

amber snow
#

tbh youre correct i just dont like hp on info heavy scripts lol

fluid spade
#

mhm

#

i mean tbf info is something i only partially care about with HP, but its more a "what is X saying publicly, what are they tunneling correctly, what courses of action are they taking"

amber snow
#

yeah thats the better way to run it

#

but i dont often see it ran like that

#

(ive not run hp myself bc i dont like most scripts w it)

fluid spade
#

im not gonna get into an HP discussion rn but yeah

#

HPs in my games get sent to the Butler n2 lol

amber snow
fluid spade
#

oh i mean not an argument i just like rambling about HP

#

anyways cool character i think i have something similar

amber snow
#

thank you

dry thicket
#

Most of the high priestess qualms could do easily be solved by taking out the word most from the ability.

#

This slightly "veers" in that direction, but in a better and more healthy way.

fluid spade
#

nah "most" applies to "the Storyteller believes"

amber snow
#

ill be real when you have to do a loop around to justify why its one and not another i think removing most would just benefit the character

#

you run it the same

#

just without the weird justifications for why you sent it to someone if someone else had game winning info

Tbc, this doesn’t work on equal amounts of good and evil?

You’d need at least 2 evil votes?

amber snow

Ok yea

#

This would be kinda interesting with Mez. Act at your own risk

amber snow

kinda weird at small counts but probably fine since the confirmation is more relevant as evil has less time to act on it

Regent feels as vulnerable as a Lord of Typhon or Yaggababble if found to be in-play, without having any of the strengths that allow it to be powerful

#

Since the King can control their suicide, and good team can test for Regent by just seeing a lack of night deaths consistently occur

amber snow
#

i do agree i could make it if the kings not been nightkilled

#

so you can kill if the kings executed

dry bane
#

im thinking the concept is there and go, but it definitely needs a buff so its less vulnerable

#

especially since it has no actual secondary ability before the king dies, so itll be harder to supplement false info needed to actually make use of the win con

#

Each night*, choose a player: they die. If the King died tonight, today's alive executee's team wins (evil if no-one). [+the King]

Hi TheDarkArtist. I just wanted to drop off a tiny package of validation for you that I stumbled across. VOD Below, specifically @3:06:25. Player 1: "I'm an Outsider, I'm called Sybil". Player 2: "OOOOOH! I was that yesterday". Player 1: "Really? Ahw, yes". Player 2: "It's SO much fun. So what's ..." Player 1 (interrupting): "It is." That's all, just thought you deserved to hear what's being said in the dark corners of the internet about your work. https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2526597965

#

I don't quite see the vision

Oivasyr (Demon): Each night*, choose a player: they die. Once, if executed & a living player claimed their character, live & register as dead. [-1 Outsider]
It seems like the strategy is to not claim your character ever?? Though it's not really clear what it means. Is it like madness, or would slayer shooting count, or something else entirely? And what's up with the outsider mod, is it just to force more Townsfolk to exist? The safety net portion is fortunately pretty intuitive

amber snow
#

i dropped the script but that was the purpose

the script had anthro

so claiming and -1 both were for anthro reasons
