It seems to me like the original plot for New War might have been a lot more body horror-y too, given that the setup during Jovian Concord was Amalgams as the sentient endgoal instead of the veils(Kind of solidified by the Concept art for the Deacons making them literal walking sentient facehuggers)

I hope they touch on those concepts a bit more with Narmer once they get the spotlight again.

In Ballas case it would have been nice if they went back and re-added the leg to scenes where he was lacking it to be honest (They went back to update a lot of old stuff, like Hunhow having the red energy coloration in Second Dream too instead of the Cyan one he used to have.)

Speaking of playable Lotus, apologies for text wall but I have a few ideas. Reason it's here is because New War spoilers.
Lotus
-Abilities could include a spin death/blind dance, Mesa's ult with black, Sentient-style handguns as her exalted sidearms, and an array of plant-themed support traps.

Natah
-Abilities would be very minion-oriented and entirely offensive, her first would be a focused Sentient blast, and her ult would be War (she calls out War's other broken half, which she kept as a memento, with an alt-attack being to swap through heavy blade and 2h-katana stances). Bias towards buffing herself from receiving damage and stacking stats from active allies/summons.

Shared
-Instead of calling a Necramech, she summons her old Sentient half to gear up for heavy combat and can fly around. Would be like Arquebex but straight-lined and constantly flying at (up to) Archwing speeds. Upgrades for it would allow her to grow it into a Teralyst/Ropalolyst hybrid, with her at the centre. Like a giant warframe, with vague Excalibur nods. Would be a frame's head taller than the average Necramech, which is the size of Natah's combat extension if I recall correctly.
-Free Sentients as deployable gear items.
-Erra as your on-call crewmate.
-EidoLotus is her emergency state if she dies after being downed, she comes back up and basically life leeches every non-objective entity in a radius which increases the longer she is forced to endure being down. After filling her health to max, she exits her downed state and reverts to normal with a relaxing breath.
-You(r DrOP) as her mission coordinator.

Not sure what else.

Natah would be overall offensive, but very adaptive.

Margulis would be supportive and exploitative of enemies, but when exposed she can't do anything because her mimicry is too good. Best she can do is a slap so powerful it knocks the enemy very far away and stuns+disarms them with a little bit of life leech.

I did some digging in the wiki and the Thrax Legatus has the Aeolak. Which is apart of that teased Duviri bundle from Tennocon way back when. Which confirms to me anyway. That the Thrax originated from Duviri.

So, this thought I have. If Duviri has their own Orokin, their own Dax, and their own Grineer. Whose to say Duviri do not have the resources to be able to create their own warframes? Are Duviri dax warframes?

The Aeolak actually makes an appearance in the animated intro cutscene/trailer in its original Prime-y form. To me this implies the Orokin survivors, if any, have been alive or 'adrift' in Duviri with every dead/Incarnon-form Dax or Grineer since.

Plus the Aeolak's Orokin-Era counterpart seemed to play the role of Grakata Prime. Maybe its original form would have double magazine size, faster RoF, maybe a good chunk more slash while keeping the alt-fire which would play more akin to Corinth's airburst due to not having gone through Duviri.

Though this has me wonder about what Hespar used to be, and any implication by it's folded-up infinity symbol looking state.

And then theres Quinn saying "The Indifference has awoken". The indifference is one of the names of TMITW so whatever happened at the end of New War, has changed Wally.

There's the question of why only Drifter and not operator can see the swords at the door, but your Warframe cannot see it anyway, so it's certainly not just a timeline related thing

They certainly weren't planning on keeping him or any Orokin alive. Hunhow's entire set up was to kill them, then wake up and clean up the dregs the Tenno didn't get. There's no indication they felt like anything else

There's no indication that they wanted to spare any other Orokin, but everything we know about the Sentients and Ballas indicates they would want to keep him around. Hunhow and Natah have been stated to be outliers, and most of New War doesn't make sense if they hate Ballas to no end. Without Ballas, sentients could neither have won the old war nor the new war, and there's no evidence any of them except Hunhow and Natah had a clue about his ulterior motives. For all they knew, he defected because he'd always hated the Orokin, which we know he has, and that he was pushed to it specifically when they killed Margulis, which the sentients clearly knew.

Not to mention any and all of the sentients that worked with Ballas between the Old War and Sacrifice.

The only explanation I see to New War if Ballas was indeed on the hit list is if Ballas had his hands on Erra since the prologue cutscene and had been manipulating him in isolation from the other sentients. Which is possible, but we'll have to wait and see if that's the case if and when Erra comes back.

The New War isn't a proper example with how much after the fact it is. We also do have a vague reason as to why Erra would be willing to work with Ballas, he's pissed at Hunhow and being a moody teen, along with possibly being under his control the entire time depending on whenever then explain how he's around. Hunhow has no such reason to keep Ballas around in any capacity during the Old War once he got the Vitrivian. Ballas doesn't know anything else the Sentients would care about our do anything that they would care about. And for the New War, Ballas only has Sentient working for him after he's taken one of their command units, we can't say anything about the steam been the Collapse and Apostasy Prologue.

The New War isn't decisive, sure, but it's the only piece of information whatsoever about the Sentient's feelings about Ballas.

And no, Hunhow definitely has more than enough reason to keep Ballas around. In fact, we know he extracted more information from Ballas, because the Vitruvian covers nothing about Margulis (Aka the reason for Natah being born at all) and because someone let Erra and the sentients into the Tenno chamber on Lua according to Varzia, which is obviously Ballas.

Sure, Lotus is a command unit, that slipped my mind regarding the Sacrifice order of events, but Ballas knew where to take her as well in advance. And there's no specific indication they wanted to kill Ballas.

Not to mention when Ballas retrieved Erra or whatever he did, Erra was on Ballas's side more than Natah's side. Which isn't strict proof that he liked Ballas, but still more evidence for rather than against.

They got to Lua because Ballas give them all the codes they needed to do it themselves. And they don't need to know about Margulis, and actually don't indicate that they know who Margulis is at all, beyond Natah for obvious reasons.

So yes,they would've kept him around until the 4th entry at minimum, if they didn't get them all of them at once

If sentients didn't know about Margulis, Natah would not exist. They wouldn't know anything about the mother figure dynamic that Tenno had that could have been exploited. And Natah was central to their entire plan. Hunhow literally gave away his daughter to Ballas to prepare her for becoming a leader of the Tenno, which is in the first place what allowed him to reprogram her in the malicious way that Hunhow hated.

Either way, there's still Erra's decisions during New War even before Ballas won them the New War in Act 1, and the very existence of Natah.

Meanwhile no clear indication that the Sentients would still want to kill Ballas after he won them the war. They're not evil dogmatic caricatures, they hated the idea of Orokin as the makers who would destroy them and ruin their home. And the Tenno for being their enemy in War. Ballas alone would never stand up to that, and he also hated the Orokin.

The New War isn't the Sentient faction proper anyways, so it doesn't matter for the point anyways. And I disagree that Natah was meant to specifically mimic Margulis, someone already dead by that point. Even Hunhow mildly questions her appearance when he wakes up, and Erra just flat out didn't know

Huh? Hunhow's description of the sequences was built around Natah infiltrating the Tenno. He specifically said everything went perfectly till the last step, Tenno death. He never questioned her appearance, he questioned her decisions, implying he didn't even know that Ballas had messed with her. He just said, "does this form remind you of what you once were?" while showing her a sentient-ish burned version of her. He was just trying to jog her memory and figure out what was up.
And if Natah wasn't meant to mimic Margulis, What's the point of Natah being a mimic at all? She's a mimic, born to fool and later kill the Tenno, which can't happen unless Hunhow knows that they were children who need a parental figure, something that only Ballas could've told them.

Anyway, I'm kinda done with this question...

What's more interesting is, why was Erra in the chamber anyway? Was it because he realised things weren't going well enough according to the sequence? Must be after Hunhow pretends to die if that's the case.

Yup Erra says he's the only family she's got left... So he must've sussed out that something was wrong with Natah and gone in himself

So from Erra's perspective two steps of the sequences must have been left, which led to his inquisitive infiltration and "death." And then after killing more sentients than intended before the Orokin betrayal step, Lotus killed the Orokin leaving only one step.

Either that or sentients along with Erra were supposed to join forces with Natah and the Tenno at the Reservoir but Erra instead found resistance.
