Ok so I have been working on this hammer. Which upper part looks best? The more angled, thinner one or the stubbier fat one?

It's a minor difference, but one I am not sure of. The fatter one makes it feel "heavier" but the thinner one kind of is more warframe?

It happens sometimes, personally from that angle I feel like the smaller upper-part (first image) would look a little better. Since it doesn't block as much of the black area, letting you see that colour a little more.

But with them being such small differences, both are pretty good. I agree with Pista, not an artist and damn the hammer looks nice

1st image is fine, when it comes to detailing, you don't wanna break up panels evenly like a pattern. The back and the butt has alot of evenly spaced lines and panels

it's also an animation issue
since you'd have to make a working reload animation and all that as well
at least with custom meshes like with melee TennoGen

For example, when you make a unique melee model, the grip points remain unchanged, so there is a minor limitation there, but it is easy to work around. While the difference guns in warframe (even in the same class like rifle) all have different grip points. Another issue would be unique reload animations. Which the team does not want to do

for obvious reasons

One potential work around would maybe make it a hard requirement for your new model to share the same reload animation. In my case, if I made a unique opticore model, the magazine would have to be in the same place and at the same angle

I still think people should be able to make custom textures for virtually any non-melee there is because that alone shouldn't be much of a problem when it comes to rigging since it's effectively the same deal as with Warframe body textures

Which, could work. To be honest, there are only a handful of guns you can make tennogen for anyways

one issue I see tho is that it's much more difficult to decide what to accept if at all since that skin will only work on that specific weapon while melee skins work on all weapons of the same type

This is the exact issue. Because then they would need a file for EVERY gun. Instead of just the type. For example there is a tennogen slot for "polearms". If they did guns, they would have to break it down by type (rifle, shotgun, etc) but then you run into rigging issues

I still wish we had a transmog system for melee weapons

I would be happy if they just kept the ones they have, and let us make our own models with the same grip and magazine placement, rather then adding all of the gun files

why? they already have the same grip points, share the same stance mods and would encourage getting new weapons even if they're only mastery fodder because on top of mastery points you can use the weapon as a skin

maybe there's a way to monetize on it in a fair way if that's what keeps DE from doing implementing such a system, like how you have to pay a small plat fee just to rename your stuff

I would absolutely love to be able to put a Glaive Prime transmog on Xoris, provided I have previously owned and mastered Glaive Prime (and maybe Xoris aswell so both weapons need to be maxed once)
