Personally I don't think the Spore Ephemera fits with the effect it leaves on the ground, but the "glowing" effect of it really ties in that fashion together. Real nice, although I'd recommend playing with some more colours than shades of black and purple as base. 5/10, there's room for improvement, but it's a nice start

Or just change the white to black and the red to green.

under controls settings(from the escape menu, settings>control ) I think, there is a toggle to turn legacy pallet(or legacy colors, been a while so I cant remeber clearly) on, this will turn your basic pallet to a much lighter version while active, and the colors will stay once you swap it back, giving you some additional coloring options
