My experience with fashion frame comes from being an artist, so take this with a grain of salt if you'd like:
My personal advice would be to push the tertiary color to be more functional to the look. It's providing a way for the eyes to go from the bright red to the dark black, but while it does provide visual rest between the two it isn't saturated enough to really 'blend' them so it stands out as a less saturated color. Maybe try making it more saturated, or de-saturating the other colors (a duller red and a slightly lighter black). You could also make it an analogous color just to try it- a saturated and dark magenta or a very dark and saturated orange color. Or a complimentary color like lime or cyan.

Here is an interesting way to make a "lightsaber" using the "Tannukai Skin" for swords, paint it on gray colors, and the primary color being a gray or black color, then mod the weapon so it has an elemental effect to make the blade glow and depending on the element you can have different patterns on the blade (this one is using corrosive)
