most of it comes from codex entries. You can read the levarian to get some more history around warframes and how the orokin were like.
Also fragments talk about a lot of history of the planets and factions.
You got duviri tales which also has some intersting facts (also check out the Zariman tablets)
you got albrecht notes which has some context to whatever was going on with WiTW and 1999
