probably laggy because laptops try to push the GPU and CPU too hard.

You want to back down the CPU to allow the laptop thermal solution to have more headroom for the GPU.

Many laptops won't allow that, though you can look into ThrottleStop.

Murder at scale is how most people play the game outside end game activities. The gameplay loop is set up around ~5min activities.

It sounds more like you want Destiny 2-style dungeons and raids, which have their own issues.
