BUT it will never pick a weapon if you only have the prime version of it FOR THE FIRST SLOT that guarantees a weapon you own

it only scans your inventory for non-prime/non-prime variants (like the dex weapons) when it's trying to pick a weapon for your first slot of each weapon category

yes you can bring a prime if it chooses the base version (like in the thread when I said it chose the nikana because I had the dex nikana but I brought the nikana prime) but once I sold the dex nikana it rerolled (yes this is a thing that people don't know about/discuss) to the skiajati, my only other non-prime melee because it's unsellable

I can't explain it any clearer than that, but the documentation, proof and testing is in the thread with screenshots and more in-depth explanations

dex nikana is still strong for heavy attack builds, since you only need 110 combo for 11x (11 instead of 20 per 1x combo) so doing an initial combo build means you can be at 9-10x combo permanently
after the status/hp/armor rework the slash proc isnt as godly as it used to be, but will still kill anything not deep endurance (you can do heat/elec/gas/etc if you want)
if you prime/external buff, then it can take down level cap demos in 1-3 heavies

That's only for weapons you get from vanquishing a Kuva Lich of Sister of Parvos. The weapons you buy with the Corrupted Holokeys are added to your inventory directly, you can equip it without having to claim it from the foundry.

t.arca plasmor/bassocyst for slab shooting hallway clearers,
phantasma/phage for status stackers (rip convectrix after the hp/armor/status rework, still works but slash/bleed isnt as good as it used to be),
bubonico/cedo for primer/self priming big hitter,
boar incarnon for pack clearing beams, or incarnoff for full auto big hits,
strun incarnon for pack clearing aoe, can get 500+ status chance easily so is a status beast per shot,
sobek for aoe clearing with augment (using saryn, cyte, lavos or xatas),
rauta for ez combo generation/upkeep if you're a melee enjoyer

overall shotguns are really good/versatile, since theres lots of variance in how they perform/feel,
meanwhile theres lots of rifles which just feel like super slight variations on the standard assault rifle

if you just want somehting to switch to for eximus/bosses, then felarx is the way.
it has an auto reload while holstered evolution, and has a 50% on noncrit to do 21x damage
(downside is it doesnt work against acolytes, so if you wanted an acolyte killer you would need something which crits...which isnt felarx's strong point)
